11 Parks near Egan, Louisiana
Jun 2013 - $20.00
Just passing through, this is a great over night stop. Long wide pull throughs, good power and WIFI. Call park for directions. Though right off the freeway, GPS directs you to a old campground on the south side of I-10 that is no longer in business. This park is on the NORTH side of I-10. Manager very friendly and escorted us to our site. I wouldn't call it a destination spot but would definitely return when passing through. Bathrooms and laundry need work. - mserafin
May 2013 - $20.00
Very close to I-10 exit, easy off-on. Out in the country. Gravel roads & sites. Level. Long pull-throughs. Open, no big trees to interfere with satellite. Small lake for fishing. Not glamorous, but we liked it. $20 was right for amenities. Big rigs cannot make turn at end of roads 3 & 4 because of drop off into ditch, so only go down first two streets after lake, BEFORE telephone pole on right. We will go back. - In The Moment
Dec 2012 - $20.00
The good: price; long pull through sites; easy access; friendly, helpful staff, pet friendly, and level sites. The bad: dogs running loose, and no tables at sites. The ugly: Nasty restrooms and showers. Because of the good, I would stay again. - retirednrving
May 2013 - $20.00
Clean, friendly, easy access to park and town is right off IH10. The highway traffic was not an issue, when you sit outside you can see it but you don't hear it. Would camp here again! - cuz
Feb 2010 - $20.00
The previous review was obviously written by owner or close friends. This park is clean, has full hook-ups, no cable, no Wi-Fi, and is a former FEMA camp from Katrina. Half dozen FEMA mobiles and same number of RVs,mostly guys working in Jennings area. It is right along the I-10 and there is LOTS of truck noise 24/7. No washroom or other facilities. No owner/manager on site. You call a number and he tells you where to park. Lots of rain made the field a bog, so he told us to park on a cement pad. No turnaround room at end of road and no pull-throughs. Jennings is a poor Lousiana town, has a Wal-Mart and a small grocery store, couple of restaurants and that's it. There is a better looking park about 20 miles east. We didn't feel unsafe, but not really safe either. - CanCat
Mar 2009 - $25.00
This is our new home, as of the end of March, 2009. This is a new park, so many improvements and facilities/attractions are in the works, so I hear. Though there are no shaded slots as of yet, the Owner has planted MANY trees. The slots are not paved, but that's not a big deal. The park is VERY well-maintained. Full hookup, though there is no cable or wi-fi (may be in the works?). This park also has slots available for mobile homes in the front. I have to say this: The Owner is the BEST. His ambition and desire is that all of his tenants are comfortable, and he goes above and beyond anything we have ever experienced with ANY park manager/owner. The park is right next door to the Jennings City Park, which features a large fishing pond, an Oil & Gas Museum/Visitors Center, the "Chateau De Cocodrilles"(Alligator House), where you can see a few huge alligators(plus get the chance to hold a baby 'gator)and one of the biggest loggerhead turtles I've ever seen. There are TONS of toys for the kids to play on, plus a paved trail around the pond for exersise. The City Park also has many seasonal festivals. This is a family campground, and rules are enforced (no loud, late-night parties, trashed-up yards, etc), so if you want a good nights rest, or are looking for somewhere to homestead without having to worry about the kind of neighbors you might have (Manager/Owner are careful about keeping a safe, peaceful atmosphere) then you need to check this park out. I'm really only making an educated guess as to how many slots are in this park, but I can tell you it's really pretty large. I'm looking forward to seeing some of the plans I've heard mentioned come about. We are enjoying our stay here very much. The nightly rate may seem a bit expensive, but if you stay here on a weekly or monthly basis you will get a HUGE discount, believe me! - heavenslilgift
Jan 2009 - $18.00
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Pay E Bas. Our stay lasted for about 9 days, and we fished in the stocked ponds (no luck) bar-b-qued under the pavilion, which was complete with picnic tables (and a big bar-b-que pit!), had burgers at the Mom & Pop burger stand, which is run by the park owners, and basically had a great time. There is also a small store on-site, where you can buy fishing tackle, staples and copious amounts of alcohol;-) The only downside to this park is that nothing is paved, and there is no cable, no wi-fi and all of those modern creature comforts. But, hey, you're camping, right? The owners are very friendly and welcoming, and drive through the park regularly, making sure all is well, and that their guests are enjoying their stay. We will certainly be visiting this park again. - heavenslilgift
Apr 2016 - $20.00
We were here for a rally. This is a large rally grounds over 500 sites. We parked on the grass and gravel. We had 30 amp service and there were shared sewers. There was 50 amp available if you parked on the blacktop. The facilities were very nice. No showers. - houseonwheels
Apr 2016 - $30.00
Easy to find off I-10. Lots of sites with grouped 50 amp electric and water and some with sewer. After hours so we paid at police station. Rally also going on using some of sites and hall. No tax. Lot spacing was nearby with a sunny/open exposure. Site surface was gravel and grass. - Joan and Bob
Mar 2016 - $30.00
This is a fine place to stay if you don't mind being in a lonely feeling campsite. There were only two of us camping and another RV came in when we were leaving. The campsites are arrayed around the outer perimeter of a large athletic field. All hookups (50 amp, water, and sewer) worked fine. We did miss wifi but the cost was fine. We were right in the town of Rayne adjacent to the police station. - Melodycthomas
Apr 2011 - $25.00
This is a small RV Park & Marina just south of the town of Lake Arthur on the Mermentau River. River sites are available. No restrooms. No Wi-Fi. Verizon cell phone does not work here or in town but AT&T does. Marina available for almost any size boat even up to 100'. $25 day/$125 week/$225 + elect month. Marina $3 foot + electric month. - Capn Kenny and Nancy Sallee
May 2016 - $35.00
Guided to my site by host. Inquired about local restaurant and they were quick to call and check menu items. We wanted to try alligator. The park roads and parking spaces were all gravel. Hookups were where they should be and easy to access. Not too far from a truck stop and the Interstate, but noise was minimal. Easy off-Easy on the Interstate. - Sunchaser v
May 2016 - $30.00
Nice park. Long, level pull-through sites. Everything worked fine. - Jerry S
Apr 2016 - $41.00
We spent one night in a 44 ft. motorhome with slide-outs and a tow. Overall, we like Frog City very much for a convenient place to spend the night when traveling on I-10. Sites are gravel, but level and it's easy in/easy out! We've stayed there in the past and would definitely stay there again. The WiFi worked; our site was long enough that we didn't have to disconnect the car; we could open the slide-outs with no problems and the place is surprisingly quiet for a location so close to the interstate. The trees are small, but there was a little shade next to the coach. The hosts couldn't be friendlier or more helpful! There is a Love's Travel Stop just down the road and a casino next door if you're looking for entertainment. - Carolynp
Oct 2015 - $27.00
This is an ok place for an overnight. Not too many choices in the area. Spaces are close. Roads front and back make for some road noise, and there's a railroad track nearby with the accompanying whistles, but doesn't appear to be a very busy line. Didn't use the restroom, was told there was no shower room. We're self contained so didn't care. Check in was prompt and professional and friendly and the young lady was happy to answer any questions and make recommendations in the area. Might stay again if I'm in the area. - Pdxjoanne
Dec 2013 - $24.00
Initially, I was concerned about possible road noise as this small park sits between two roads. Concerns were allayed as this is a rural area, and what traffic there was diminished by 8 or 9 PM. The attractions in Eunice are easily accessable from the park's location. The owner of the park was quite helpful in advising some of the lesser known attractions, best times to attend, and restaurant recommendations. This is a small park, and I'm not sure I would use it for an extended stay. That said, I would return anytime I was in the area, be it for a couple of days or a couple of weeks. - ramblingsavage
Sep 2015 - $21.00
Enjoyed our stay. Would go back again. Park was clean and Had no issues with water or electricity and overall a nice friendly place to stay. - Smo
Jun 2011 - $21.00
We recently spent the weekend at Cajun Campground. The last time we were here was 2 years ago, and we really enjoyed it then. This time, it did not appear to be very well maintained. The lake appeared to be a dumpsite, trash all over in the lake. People would not pick up after their pets, dog mess all over the place. Bathroom was fairly clean, but very hot and uncomfortable. Our campsite was full of bottle caps and fire ants. There are 2 dumpsters in the park, and both are near the campers, and the smell was horrible. Pool was clean, but cost extra to use it. The campground staff were very friendly. - User1309
Jul 2016 - $38.00
We stayed here for 3 nights. We where told our spots where shady. We were in direct sun light all day. Very little shade here. The beach was nice and music good.
Little bit of a partying place, if you like that scene, lot of golf carts riding all day. Kids where having a great time here. At quiet time I was impressed that everything did get silent. Not a very big campground. - lovegun
Oct 2015 - $40.00
Not sure of nightly rate as we stayed for one month and had full hookups. Sites were spacious, lots if shade from pine trees. The only pitfall were the mosquitos!! They were horrible! Bring lots of Deet with you. This is such an active park tho. Every Friday there was music with live bands in the barn. Halloween trick or treaters for 3 weekends leading up to the "official" Halloween night with lots of decoration's on display. We would stay again for sure cuz those "skeeters" won't keep us away. - HillCountryRV0128
Jul 2015 - $40.00
This is the place to go with the grandkids - very family friendly & fun.
Very nice lake / beach swim area where the kids had a blast. Nice little fishing lake. Very cool barn dance area on weekends that party's until the wee hours with a live band.
Older resort park with gravel pads, appears to be a problem if it has rained for a few days & the ground gets soft.
Employees are helpful & can be often seen - experience in other areas employees are infrequently noticed. - JSRFrench
May 2016 - $50.00
Stayed one night while traveling through state. Very friendly and helpful staff. Onsite RV technician was very helpful getting our broken water heater operational. Facility was very crowded during Memorial Day weekend. Heavy rain after nightfall made it impossible to venture outside since there was 2 inches of rainwater off the concrete pad on the gravel filled site. Pad was just wide enough to accommodate width of motorhome. Would stay here again if stopping for the night. One of the better KOAs we have stayed at. - Time4us
Apr 2016 - $52.00
This was our third stay at this KOA. While KOA's rates are more than we usually pay, this particular park offers a lot for the money. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The location places the visitor to true Cajun country at its doorstep. Kids will enjoy a clean pool, paddle boats and a playground. Adults will appreciate the easy on and off from I-10, as well as some really great restaurants nearby. I recommend the sites on the east side, next to the lake, as they are shady and provide decent space between campers. The bathhouse is always clean.
The only downside is that the sites near the interstate have to deal with some road noise. - DSLACamper
Mar 2016 - $43.00
All good except for cable TV. Poor picture on all lower numbered channels, including CBS and Fox News.
Cable hookup not near pedestal - separate post near road but office didn't tell us that. Had to call office.
Channel lineup in brochure doesn't match actual on most channels. - Joe Chernow
