I thoroughly enjoyed staying here! It was quiet and incredibly peaceful! I spent the day walking around the campground, fishing, and reading under the trees. We were in the camper, but they had more than just RV hookups. They had a large meeting room, a bunch of cabins with showers, and a pretty big kitchen with hang out area. Everything was nice and definitely exceeded my expectations.
Contact the manager directly. She's very easy to work with, even with last minute stays. - hsjenkins

Natalbany Creek is a roomy campground just east of Amite, which is about 50 miles north of New Orleans. I chose it, knowing that I would only want to spend a single day in New Orleans, and preferring to spend the rest of my time away from city noise and bustle. The campground sits behind a casino, which has signs far more obstreperous than its own, so I managed to miss it (I'm getting quite skilled at that), and had to make a big loop on poor country roads to get back. Once set up though, the campground was quite comfortable. The lanes were wide, and the sites were ample. They even provided fireworks on New Years Eve's Eve. (They expected really cold weather on New Years Eve itself. I brought in my hoses, put on my woolies, and weathered it just fine.) All in all, the campground was ordinary but satisfactory. It was quieter than many parks I have visited over the past few months, away from busy highways and railroads. It was certainly more spacious than the "resorts" I was to encounter later in Florida, though my particular site was a little cramped. - Jim Fulton

The park is very spacious with plenty of room between campsites. The staff was wonderful - very friendly. We stayed for the Halloween activities which were fun and well organized. The only negative comment is the electrical supply. When I plugged my surge protector into the 50-amp service, the indicator lights showed a problem with "L2 and Nuetral Reversed." I called the office and informed the staff. The desk staffer was very unconcerned and said that problem is like that all the time. He assured me the power company, LP&L, had already checked the power and said that is just how they wired the campground. He laughed and said "everyone who camps here for the first time calls in and tells us about this problem." Before plugging in, I walked around and saw several other 50-amp RVs plugged in with no issues. Against my better judgment, I plugged in. I can't claim the power caused me a problem, but I did have an electrical circuit board fry on one of my appliances that night. The problem was repaired under warranty with no cost to me, so I am letting the matter drop. For this reason only, the electrical supply, I will never stay at the campground again, and I am assigning a 6. I believe the owners should refuse to accept LP&L's lack of concern for something they acknowledged is not technically correct, but won't cause a problem. I am not sure I got the full story on this issue. I have too many important people in my RV to take any chances. Great staff, nice place, bad power. - DA TT

What a find!!! We wanted to make a stop on I55 and this location was available on the spur of the moment. Park is behind a casino (makes it hard to find), but once you find it, it is a pleasure to stay at. There is a nice backdrop to woodsy area and a huge lake (not usable), but adds to the ambiance of the park. Had a pull through spot, but most are back in and not always lined up side by side, but still a VERY nice layout. - Rog-Ann

This is a very rustic campground with lots of trees. The entry is down a long narrow road and we clipped the fence on the tight turn into the campground. The interior roads are all dirt and sand, and were tight for our 40 ft. motorhome. Our site was a grassy, sandy pull-through. Most of the sites have trailers on them although there were very few people here on a Sunday. There is wireless, but I wasn't able to connect with an iPhone, iPad, Kindle or laptop, just a spinning icon. Because of the trees there was no satellite reception, and they don't have cable. We were able to get about 5 antenna channels. I would try to find another place before staying here again although it was convenient to I-55. - RVerMJ
Sep 2015 - $30.00
Had a slight problem when we arrived. There was a miscommunication amonst employees and they had given our site away to another guest. They did accomodate us but we were put way out in the back 40 so to speak. This stop was just for 2 nights so we could go into New Orleans for the day. Utilities were placed decently and the Owner did help out with a minor problem that we had with the motorhome and fixed the problem while we were in New Orleans. Due to the fact that they were accommodating, we would probably stop again, but this campground is really not for a "big" rig. Our 39' pulling a car had problems negotiating some roads getting to the campground as it is out of the way down back country roads. - hound4

Myself and other family members have stayed away from this campground for 9 years , because of the previous hateful/rude/foul mouth owners. New people bought the campground a year ago and are great!! They seem pretty laid back as we are. There were no special activities going on due to them recouping from the 4th of July weekend activities. Very understandable, its a lot on them. we will catch them next time. we had site 171. pretty good site. Wi-Fi only worked good out side our camper. the creek was fun and we will go back again. the new owners were very easy to talk to, unlike the ones before. we are very pleased with our stay. we are planning another trip in the near future. - lovegun
Apr 2017 - $54.00
I can't say enough wonderful things about our stay here, we will definitely be back. Our trip was the weekend after Easter so the park was pretty quiet with not too many campers. The kids had a great time, the teenagers and adults loved it too. The park owner and all of the employees were super nice and made us feel so welcomed. The park is very clean, new in ground pool, beautiful pond and a few fun farm animals. The horse ride guides were very patient and helpful. We can't wait to go back. - kbg12379
Apr 2015 - $19.00
This is a horse ranch w/amenities. Pull thru level, hard packed site. FHU w/50A. Very peaceful, country setting. GPS took us right to it.
We stayed 2 nights and they honored both nights with PA discount.
We would stay again and ride the horses again. We were in a motor home. - D Curf
Mar 2015 - $44.00
Other than being a bit overpriced and not having the correct size sewer hookups on some sites, this place is very nice. Very gracious hostess that will lead you to your site. They have karaoke and horse back riding. We were in motorhome and had no problem getting in an out. Very peaceful and quiet at night. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back for sure. - BryanK.
