One night stay, No service at office, filled out envelop and left money, Tight roads in and out, Site pad uneven, 50amp & water was good. Do not use dump station. Was very quite at night as there was only one 5th wheel in the park. We camped at Acadiana Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This park has very narrow roads and mostly short asphalt. Water and electric hookups are distant to the sites in some cases. The park appears very neglected. It is gated requiring a code to get in and out. We would probably not stay here again. We camped at Acadiana Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This park was great for a quiet, restful place for an overnighter on our way to another state. Very few other campers. A very nice ranger station located in the park and a nice trail (although we did not have time to explore.) I saw my first owl in nature here! We unfortunately had battery issues the following morning (a problem with our RV power converter), and the campground manager came to our rescue with a charger! We camped at Acadiana Park Campground in a Motorhome.

I wanted to love this park, but as pretty new RVers, we found it terrifying. There are tons of trees (which is nice for the shade and feeling like you're camping in nature), which made it hard to back in to our site. The sites are asphalt pads, but most are uneven and many have steep drop-offs right from the pad, which means you have zero room for error as you're backing in. Thankfully our site only had minor drop offs (which were still scary for us, but didn't damage the RV when we missed the pad). If we'd been assigned one of the 'bad' ones, we would probably have just left instead of trying to back in. As it was, it took us forever and ours wasn't that bad. Now.. that said.. the campground was quiet and our site backed up to the little playground, which my kids thought was fantastic. They had a great time playing outside and my older kids rode their bikes along the interior roads. It was mostly empty when we were there. There is a little educational center, but we didn't have time to check it out. The utilities worked fine for us, but I think we may have hooked up to the empty site next to us instead of the hookups that were officially ours. We didn't check out the bathrooms, so I'm not sure how they were. No laundry on site, but there are options in town. We camped at Acadiana Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The weather was rainy and the campground was wet and muddy, with signs warning of potential flash flood danger. Shaded, paved, fairly wide, W/E sites were relatively level, but our electricity didn't work correctly. Fortunately, the box for the adjacent empty site was near enough that we switched to it and then the power worked fine. Many of the sites had "reserved" signs on the posts, but no one showed up to use them during the night. So, we suspected that many other sites may also have had unrepaired electrical hookups. The dump was conveniently located at the campground exit. We camped at Acadiana Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Very pleasant, forested area, quiet. Some sites are short and uneven appearing. Ours was. We were in site 11, which was right by a bright spot light. You may drive around and choose your site. Most of the hookups are two to a pole so you might be on the far side to hook up. Good for overnight. Without a water filter the water appeared unpotable. $25. We camped at Acadiana Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

What a lovely park, beautiful trees. We saw a raccoon being a little overly friendly. It was only $20.00 a night, which is a great bargain. The road getting to the park is fine, it goes through a nice neighborhood. We hiked some trails, they were beautiful, but bring a stick to break the spiderwebs. Our site was asphalt but all sites need to be redone. The park road is narrow. The sites to the right when you enter the park seem to be better than the ones to the left. We did not use the restrooms. The staff was friendly. There is a dump station but no sewer. We camped at Acadiana Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Came in after 5 so no one was here. The ranger will collect in the a.m. This is a rucstic city owned park in the woods.. Sites are large enough. Many have concrete or blacktop pads. There are a few pull throughs. A good place to overnight. Very quiet. There is a nature center and trail. We camped at Acadiana Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This park was mostly empty but there is a nightly security gate. Our site was roomy because nearby sites were not being used. The park is old but very pretty with lots of trees and a nature center and trail right there. I would not have wanted to use the restroom and shower. You have to drive through a neighborhood to get there. We camped at Acadiana Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

One night stay, passing through. Just as others have described. Approach to campground is through a neighborhood, narrow street but passable, slowly. We missed entrance sign but found day use parking lot to turn around. Made reservations as "overnight er" and given a pull through level enough to not unhook. Hookups ok. Beautiful "boardwalk" trails and nature center at one end of park. It was cool but I suspect mosquitoes when warm. Great place for overnight. We camped at Acadiana Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

City operated campground in the town of Lafayette. Very nice with paved roads and sites. Water and 30 amp only and dump station. Restricted access. No cable, no wi-fi, no satellite signal, antenna TV good. Good cell signal. Lots of big trees and grass. Tight but doable for big rigs due to trees. Busy on weekends. Park clean and staff helpful. Will stay there again. We camped at Acadiana Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Pulled in off IH-10 for the night to avoid the $30-50 parks. Price is good. Did not use restroom facilities so no comment on them. Had to move from first site we chose as there is not water at each site and our two hoses would not reach. If you need water be sure to check site connections before setting up. Picnic tables and fire rings at some sites. Location good and we enjoy being in a more natural park than the usual resort or parking lot types. Very enjoyable for enjoying nature. There is a hawk nest in tree next to our site. Also a nature trail leaves from campground. Would return to campground but we're disappointed about water connections. We made a reservation for one of the pull thru sites available. We stayed during the Acadian et Creole Festival. The drive in made us nervous because we are 13'6" high & the only way to the park is through a neighborhood. We had no problems with getting through! The park is very shaded and the park was clean. No wifi, but you are close enough to Lafayette to get all the main air/free channels. There was no sewage hook up at the site, but there was a dump station. The Park attendant was nice and the price was right. The roads are very tight and larger RV's will have a difficult time navigating them. It was nice, we will be back!!! We camped at Acadiana Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Yeah, this is an old campground. Some of the sites are adequate for big rigs, but a lot are probably too small and difficult to access with the narrow road. Other than that, for $20, it's a great deal if you want/need to be in Lafayette. The location is convenient to everything in town. It was only a ten minute drive to Girard Park for the Festival Acadiens et Creoles which was why we where there. It's quiet and reasonably well kept. Lots of shade, and lots of bugs, at least this time of the year. Bring plenty of bug spray. There's a nice network of nature trails too. The restroom/shower building is up by the office and a real long walk from some sites. If you are not self-contained, you might want to try to get one of the sites close to the entrance. The building is old, but bright and reasonably clean. There are two toilets for each gender. The ladies (and probably men's) shower room is an open room with a basin, mirror, a couple electric outlets, two benches, and about 3-4 hooks. There are two shower stalls with curtains, but no place private to dry off and change. Also the showers are the on/off type, no way to adjust that I could see. So, it's a lot of cold water at first and then a lot of very hot water. Almost too hot to be comfortable. So shower real quick while it's the temp you like! The only downside for us is the lack of a sewer connection because we are staying a week so need to conserve, but there is a dump station. I appreciate having this very affordable option for an electric & water site right in town. We are already planning on coming back for another festival. We camped at Acadiana Park Campground in a Truck Camper.
