Stay here almost every time we are in the area visiting family and friends. A nice quiet park in a beautiful setting. This time we stayed in the back, "premium", loop. Only drawback is no sewers but for a short stay who needs sewer. Wi-fi was strong (repeater right by our site) but it is pretty restrictive about what you can do. Washer and drier in the bathroom building were FREE, can you believe it? Satellite and phone coverage were good and you can get many off-air TV stations as well as satellite. We camped at Fairview Riverside State Park in a Motorhome.

This is the New Orleans area folks! Food choices are abundant and excellent. Visit the N.O. WWII national museum - plan more than one day if you can, it is well worth the time and $$.

This is a very nice state park. Check in was quick and easy. Interior roads and sites are paved although a bit narrow. Our site and others were just wide enough for the rvs and the road width made it a little tricky backing in without going off the pavement. Water and electric worked well and were in good location. Nice grassy space between sites with tall pine and oak trees for some shade. Some OTA channels available and wifi worked well. Restrooms were clean and had the sink, shower and toilet together in a room. We would camp here again if in the area. We camped at Fairview Riverside State Park in a Travel Trailer.

If you plan to visit New Orleans from here you have to take the 24 mile bridge across the lake. There is a $5 toll into New Orleans, no toll out.

I've stayed here many times. Beautiful setting. Spacious sites. Road into the park has low hanging tree limbs that need to be trimmed but they may be on private property. I picked up small pieces of trash all around my site and the fire ring was full of trash. It was nice and quiet even with the park nearly full. We stayed in the front part of the park. We camped at Fairview Riverside State Park in a Motorhome.

We loved this park. I would give it a 10 if it had sewer! Check in was easy and the setting was peaceful with many trees. Sites were spread apart well. Some sites are near the river which had a nice boardwalk and hiking trail. This park is located right next to subdivisions and gated communities, but is an oasis in a populated area. It rained a lot the first night and grassy area around our site was wet and muddy for a while. We camped at Fairview Riverside State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice and well kept state park and is very popular so it might be difficult to get into during peak times. There's two camping areas, the larger main area closer to the entrance and the riverfront/riverside area in the back. We stayed in site 38 near one of the bathhouses in the main area. We reserved site 44 but upon arriving we discovered we couldn't back into it due to the narrow street separating the sites, and the large tree on the front corner which made it impossible to even jackknife into it. Obviously the main campground is probably older and the layout was designed for smaller rigs. The back sites nearer to the river are larger and more spacious, and we admired site 70 which we felt to be the best site back there if you can snag it. There's 30/50 amp power and water at each site and dump stations are distributed throughout the park. WiFi was typical for state parks (mostly non-working) and there is a laundry at the bathhouses for FREE. Good luck as some washers/dryers weren't working and people seem to save up months of laundry before going there. We camped at Fairview Riverside State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

An absolute gem! Gorgeous little State Park with roomy sites and access to the Tchefuncte River, a stereo-typically beautiful Louisiana bayou experience. Looking forward to returning! Walk down by the water at sunset for a great photo op. Everything was clean and comfortable here. Be prepared for the humidity! Gates open 8am -8pm. We camped at Fairview Riverside State Park in a Motorhome.

Excellent location for our purposes. Small state park on the Tchefuncte River. Spacious sites, well maintained, trees for shade. Nice walk down to the most beautiful river. Not the most level of pads, but not a huge disappointment. We camped at Fairview Riverside State Park in a Motorhome.

Madisonville, which is just across the river is a cute little community. Charming antiques, restaurants, etc. We visited Crabby Shack. Dee-lish! Little high for lunch, but portions are big enough to split between the two of us.

We camped in the premier section, which was very nice with a view of the river. The area is beautiful with live oaks and Spanish moss along a boardwalk on the river. Also the Otis house, an old sugar plantation, is fun to see and walk around.

Lots of families here, especially on weekends, and most appear to be local. It was fun to see the kids enjoying themselves at the campground. We would definitely stay here again should be in the area.

Our site was a back-in site with room for the truck in front of our trailer and the hook-ups were good. As somebody else said Rouse's Grocery in Mandeville (a short distance away) is a great place to shop. We camped at Fairview Riverside State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed again on our way through LA, showers were awesome! Had some electric issues at the site again, microwave didn't have enough power to run properly but no surges.

The washers and dryers work great and it was awesome to be able to do laundry without leaving the park!

Had fun on the boardwalk and got some great pictures, will be back on our way back through. We camped at Fairview Riverside State Park in a Motorhome.

Make sure to watch for snakes by the board walk, this is a swamp area! Saw several but only one was next to the walking area, they blend quite well with the dried grass.

Really nice. The sites in the back part especially. Asphalt pads, picnic table, fire pit and separate charcoal grill, spacious. Bathrooms clean. They have trash cans everywhere that have heavy lids and are emptied all the time to prevent critters. The WiFi works good too! Very scenic. Loved it. Although we have the Federal Senior pass, no discount was available because we were not from Louisiana, Maryland or Delaware. The one night fee was $22 with an additional administrative fee of $6 for a total of $28. The water and 30 amp service worked well. The bathhouse in the upper level had individual toilet/shower combo rooms, including one for handicap. We love those rooms. The lower level by the river had a brand new bathhouse with multiple units in one large room, as is common in campgrounds. You can see the river from the lower campground, but none of the sites are waterfront. There is a nice boardwalk with some seating by the river. Some of the roads were very tight to maneuver. We liked it here and would return. We camped at Fairview Riverside State Park in a Travel Trailer.

I was very dismayed on arrival to learn of an additional $6 fee for my stay, the lady signing us in insisted that it was on the web site but all I can find on there is that my rv site was supposed to be $22 a night.

The park has two very lovely boardwalks by the swamp and river but watch for snakes! Saw a huge cottonmouth by the dock.

Wifi doesn't work very well, won't load netflix at all and is slow to load facebook.

I had electrical problems with my site and couldn't use my ac without tripping breakers, otherwise the park was well kept. Showers are clean and the laundry was free!

Lots of birds for birdwatching! We camped at Fairview Riverside State Park in a Motorhome.

Really like this campground next to the river and great access to restaurants, New Orleans, sightseeing, etc. Park is well managed and secure. Would have given it a 10 except the sites can get very water logged from rain and the parking paved pads are too narrow to set-up chairs or room for the steps. Decent spacing between sites. From interstate to park is on very busy multi-lanes, but not a major problem. Roads in the park a little tight, but not a problem. We camped at Fairview Riverside State Park in a Motorhome.
