As others have written, this is a good park: clean, well-managed and maintained. For the most part, it is quiet (hidden by the trees, there is a shooting range nearby and that can be disconcerting at this time in America). The office folks are organized, cheerful and helpful. Two trees, each near the first turns of the entrance and exit, need small, lowest limbs taken off (their leaves brushed our air-conditioner), otherwise, I'd have rated the park a "10". The only tricky part has nothing to do with park management: it is getting to the actual access road on that side of I-20 and not turning too soon and getting forced back onto I-20. Only Exit 120 will work (because there is a bridge out on the access road before the next exit.) The access road, called "Frontage Road", is the next road AFTER the onramp that will force you to get back onto east bound I-20. Go past the first ramp - to the stop light - and then turn left at the light. (The frontage road/access road runs in front of the Hampton Inn hotel.) Nice campground; we will stay there again. We camped at Ouachita RV Park in a Motorhome.

Not sure why this campground has such bad reviews. Great for an overnight and it's close to I-20, easy on and off. Road noise was minimal. Pull thru long enough for our 42 foot bus and tow vehicle. Would stop again for a night. And yes it does appear folks live in the park, most are in good shape with a few abandon trailers. We camped at Ouachita RV Park in a Motorhome.

I am basing this on an overnight stay. We have a 45' Bus and tow a Jeep. Easy entry into site. Just a few sites that could accommodate our rig. Very helpful office. I'm not sure why it is getting such bad reviews. Could be really nice with a few upgrades. We camped at Ouachita RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a old former KOA. The staff is very friendly and the office is clean and well kept. The sites are mostly pull throughs and handles our 40 ft 5er and truck with no problem. Water and power is good. Basic WiFi works fine for web browsing and emails. This park definitely deserves more than the poor rating it has. The sign at the entrance is very small and can only be accessed going eastbound on the I-20 frontage road. A bridge is out and the frontage road is not accessible going west on the feeder. There are a few long term folks in older RVs but they are OK. We camped at Ouachita RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is just a basic 1 night stay RV Park just off the freeway. Far enough off the freeway so that the highway noise is not objectionable. Gravel drive with a grassy space between sites with full hookups. Free Wi-fi but no other amenities other than a couple of ponds if you want to do some fishing. We camped at Ouachita RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a really great overnight spot but we ended up staying 2 night due to weather issues. The price was great, it was convenient and the site was easy to get in and out of. Also Pet friendly. I have to say that the WiFi was SUPER even though the place was about 2/3 full. We camped at Ouachita RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed overnight in a pull-thru site that barely fit with our 37' motorhome and CRV toad. There is only one road in the park that seems like it was recently renewed with rock, the others were heavily rutted. Recent rains left many muddy ruts throughout the park. The standing water and pond/lake on the property meant many swarming insects. While convenient for an overnight stop, we would not stop here again. We camped at Ouachita RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The $24 rate is for a one week stay. The sign at the entrance is very small and it only shows coming from the west. Since there were utility workers right at the driveway I missed the sign and had to find a place to turn around and come back. All 68 sites are full utilities and most are pull through. The space (37) is semi gravel some mud and not quite level side to side. The sites are very wide and most are very short. The back end of my fifth wheel is almost in the drive and with the truck parked closely in front of the rig it is almost in the drive in front. Wifi is available I had good reception. MiFi has fair reception. There is no TV and I didn't try over the air. The couple managing the park are helpful however you are not led to you site. There is no pool, most sites are in part shade. There are a lot of permanent RVs some are under a metal cover. Most all sites are neat and not cluttered. There are a lot of workers with truck traffic beginning around 5:30 am. The interior driveways are part gravel and mud with some ruts. They are using some kind of mud mixture for fill and it is not working. I've seen a pond in the park and people fishing. The laundry which is open 24 hours was clean and had four working washers and dryers all take $1.75. There is a small play ground, shuffleboard and basketball hoop. They have a nice size lending library and clubhouse. We camped at Ouachita RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Older campground (once KOA). Brand new "rehab" management; lady at desk was very nice - explained some of their issues with rehab. Park itself is pleasant - plenty of room, many trees, grass cut, power good, water good, sewer had pipes at ground-level (good!). Gravel sites less than half-bubble off-level; gravel roads in pretty good repair. Bathrooms / showers seemed fairly "clean," however they were in poor repair, to include ceilings and fans. Typical of this part of the country, temporary workers (gas/coal/RR/oil) keep many of these parks going; there are some long-termers, and even a couple park models with a shed-roof; all are neat and in good repair. Nice setting, infrastructure is good, facilities need work. If you don't need the restrooms/showers, and full hook-ups will meet your needs, this is a decent little campground for the price. And you'll pass Sam's Club on the way in. If our trip/schedule dictates, we'd definitely stay at this campground again. We camped at Ouachita RV Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

First off, this campground is under new management and they were very friendly to deal with and wanted to make sure we were comfortable with our stay even though they had just begun making needed improvements. This campground, in its current state, is a shell of its former glory. What you see on their web site is not exactly what you get upon arrival - some of the pictures were taken years earlier. The main office has had a number of shingles blown off. The restrooms are very dated - say late '80s - but they were clean and worked. The laundry room had four newer washers and 4 newer dryers - all working. The pool is shut down and looks like it has been for a couple years. Having a pool was the reason we choose to camp here. There is plenty of shade but little grass because of everyone driving over the sites or parking vehicles on the grass. Now, they have signs saying 'stay off grass' and are working to restore the sites. The sites aren't very wide. Most sites do not have a picnic table. Our site had a new electric box with 50/30 AMP service with a regular GFI protected 15/20 amp connection as well. They had signs up in the office indicating they just started on June 1 upgrading their electric. Our sewer connection was new as well with a regular 4 inch threaded pipe. They had just poured concrete and installed a new water hydrant at their dump station. It rained a lot while we were there and the sites were flooded. The soil (more like clay) in the area does not allow for easy absorption of any rain. We packed up in ankle deep water. This campground is in desperate need of numerous dump truck loads of new stone as well as a well-executed drainage plan. There are numerous pot holes yet while we were there, they were working to fix them. About half the campers here are long term and permanent residents. It appeared to be mainly utility (telephone, etc.), pipeline, and railroad workers. The long term residents were very nice and we didn't have to worry about our family's safety. The campground is also well lit at night. The WiFi worked throughout the campground since they installed an additional access point. I give the new management credit for taking action and doing tasks to improve this campground. It is going to be a long process. We will camp here again if they get the pool open and running again. We camped at Ouachita RV Park in a Motorhome.

We camped here overnight. The gravel road is in poor shape with potholes and mud due to recent rains. Many of the sites were unusable due to flooding. The restrooms were not as clean as most we've seen and are not handicap friendly. We have camped here before and the new management do not exhibit the southern hospitality as in the past. Although convenient to the interstate we would not camp here in the future. We camped at Ouachita RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed one night while traveling. Very quiet considering right off I-20. Sites are gravel and level. We checked in after hours, paperwork was ready and site location was easy. Park was very clean and well maintained. We have a 36' RV pulling a 12' bike trailer with a second driver in a jeep. It wasn't a problem fitting into our pull-through. We would stay again. Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Recent heavy rains in the region have not helped this campground. Numerous sites have sitting water. The soil in the remaining sites is quite saturated. There is a pond adjacent to the campground which should have taken most of the drainage. However. the drainage is blocked which has contributed to the muddy conditions. The pictures on the website are deceiving. Apparently, they are taken quite a number of years ago. Most of the sites are occupied by permanent residents. Trailers range in condition from new to very dilapidated. Some sites have carports set up with one surrounded by a fence. Is this suppose to be a campground or trailer park? We would definitely not stay here again. We camped at Ouachita RV Park in a Motorhome.
