We stopped ahead of bad weather rolling in on our way home, less than 80 miles away. We called ahead a few miles out to ask about vacancies, and were told to pick any site, and pay with a self pay envelope. Seems to be a nice enough small commercial campground, though it is located behind a truck stop, so there is potential for truck noises during the night, particularly on the row of sites closest to the truck stop (there are 3 rows of pull through spaces). Spaces are wide, with some shade thanks to semi-mature trees, pull throughs are reasonable long, but may be too short for some big rigs. There are 3 or 4 restaurants (casual dining / fast food) options within easy walking distance (1/4 mile). Laundry room looks nice, though only 2 sets of machines, there is also a BBQ pit, and common pavilion room. The night we were there about half the sites were vacant, a few were apparently occupied by long term residents, the power pedestal showed some wear, though nothing excessive, all sites are 30/50 amp. We camped at Nakatosh RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The park is laid out well with plenty of room for large rigs. Pull thru sites are long and easy to access. My site is fairly level. Utilities are good with good water pressure and electric is strong. There are several trees for shade without being a problem for access to the sites. The park only had one other pull thru camper so they just told me to pick the site I liked. The park backs up to a truck stop but, with the ac running, I am not hearing noise from the truck stop. They do not have an onsite attendant so everything is done over the phone. Fill out the pay envelope and place it in the drop box. I will definitely stay here again. My rate reflects the Good Sam discount for daily rate. We camped at Nakatosh RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Getting in is best done from the south side of the Chevron station...and signage is back from the road because of another business along the road. But the sides are easy to access and spacious with nice shade trees scattered about. Easy access to town and historical sights. Wifi was good; cable is not available any longer, but TV antenna worked well. We stayed a week in a 36' motorhome w/toad. We camped at Nakatosh RV Park in a Motorhome.

It's hard to find (incomplete directions and poor signage). The hosts are not available. At first I thought it was just a fluke, but truly, there was no service except by cell phone. I was given incomplete wifi information even after repeated calls. I was never given any printed information so I didn't even realized there were bathroom codes. One of the washers had been reported as broken, and nothing was done, so when I used it, the same problem occurred (It happened that the camper who reported it came to the laundry when I was dealing with the problem.) It's too bad, because the campground is in a great location and rather pretty with big sites, but I wouldn't come again. We camped at Nakatosh RV Park in a Motorhome.

There is very little choice of campgrounds in the area. We were traveling through the area and needed a place for the night. Getting into the campground was somewhat difficult due to the access road. The park was behind a truck stop and it was noisy all night from the diesel engines. We later learned that access could be made through the truck stop and that is how we left the park. The park itself was filled with mostly long term residents. The restrooms were clean and accessible with a pass code. (That we obtained by returning to the office, only to learn that it was posted on a white board outside the office door.) Not much security. It was easy to navigate around the park but the sites were not well-marked. The power pedestal was questionable as the door was not well-secured. Water pressure changed as more campers arrived and hooked up. Would not return. We camped at Nakatosh RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground has two locations. The office is at Campground 1. We camped at Campground 2 located behind a commercial building on a busy highway. The single restroom and laundry room are in this building. The location, on the shore of Lake Sibley, is beautiful. It is disappointing the quality of the campground does not match the location. Poorly defined sites with hookups randomly scattered about on a dirt and gravel lot. Piles of trash here and there and a couple of dilapidated structures containing trash and junk. There was also several long term tenants with equipment, etc. stacked outside their RV's. We were here during the Natchitoches Christmas Festival so the campground was full. Because the sites are so disorderly, people arriving first parked however their rig best fit making it difficult for the later arrivals to navigate - a couple of large rigs gave up and went elsewhere. After registering online, we received no confirmation of having a particular site assigned nor directions. When we arrived, there was no one in the office and it took multiple calls to reach anyone. When we did, the person did not have access to the registration information and told us to take a certain site only to later find this had been given to someone else. In short, this is a junky, poorly managed campground. We will go somewhere else if ever in Natchitoches again. We camped at Nakatosh RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Pulled in here early on a Friday afternoon to spend a couple of days as there isn't much to choose from in the area. The park is easy to get to & from I-49. After climbing up the steep but short hill off the main road, discovered the entire campground was full.

The park is behind a truck stop. It is very small and was built on a slight slope so leveling might be an issue depending on your RV's ability to level.

The interior road is gravel. The sites are a mixture of pull throughs & back ins. The pull throughs are in the middle with the back-ins along the outer edge. There appeared to be some long term residents. There is a tree line along the outer edge of the park so satellite reception might be impacted. The sites in the center appeared to have a better line of sight to the sky for satellite reception.

Office is only open from about 3:30 to 5 so any contact with staff outside of those hours is by phone. Make reservations if you want to stay here. Or you can contact the Chamber of Commerce for a listing of other RV parks in the area. We camped at Nakatosh RV Park in a Motorhome.

As others have stated, this is a "bare bones" park. We were told we could park in any of the available spaces and spent quite a bit of time looking at electrical sockets before we found one that was not broken. You also need to be aware that it is next to a truck stop and we found that they do run their engines constantly even at midnight. One major issue was that we exited through the truck stop driveway (which is connected to the park) and scrapped our front end which did cause some serious damage to our coach -- so you need to be careful when you leave. And when you are here DON'T MISS downtown Natchitoches. It is an amazing city! It makes the stay in this place worth the 5 points I gave it. We camped at Nakatosh RV Park in a Motorhome.

Less than a mile off Interstate 49, keep a close watch for the park sign on the right side of the road. There will be a gravel road with a small park sign and it will feel like you are going the wrong way. The campground sits behind a truck fuel stop with trailer parking in the rear. Despite its location the park is quiet with very little truck noise. We drove our big rig and toad into a long full hook-up pull-through site that was level gravel. The park is very basic, no picnic table, fire ring or amenities except free Wi-Fi that worked well. The restroom and showers were quite old but clean. There are some big trees between sites so pick accordingly for your satellite dish. Also, the hook-ups are at rear of each campsite making it a long stretch for your sewer and power hoses if you don’t want to unhook your toad. The staff are friendly when they are around. The office has short hours so just find a site when you get there and catch up with the staff later. This is a good overnight stop along the I-49. There are several fast food places within walking distance so you don’t have to unhook your toad. We camped at Nakatosh RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bare bones at best. Office is staffed for a couple of hours a day. Nice lady when she's there, which isn't often. No one answers the phone or is there when you arrive. At this park you are very much on your own. The WiFi did not work and the park is aware of it. The power went out during the night, surged, and burnt out our electrical cord. Nice meadow for kids to play in if it weren't for the carcass of a not long dead horse laying off to one side! The park has an overall dirty feel and is not very well maintained. The truck stop noise is Not a problem though. Would not stay again if we had another option. We camped at Nakatosh RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This small, bare bones park is conveniently located to see the lovely community of Natchitoches and tour the surrounding area. A recent tornado damaged the restrooms, which were not yet repaired. The office was open part time and staffed by a friendly manager. The wifi was adequate for a laptop computer, but my iPad would not connect. The drone of idling Diesel engines in a nearby truck stop was mildly annoying. A greater annoyance was a stray lab wanting attention. We would stay here again. We camped at Nakatosh RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed at park for 3 nights. Everything was fine. Had no problems with anything. Truck-stop noise was minimal...no bother. Close to downtown for some great sightseeing. WI-FI a little weak, but worked OK for our needs. Cable TV had 40 or so channels. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Nakatosh RV Park in a Motorhome.

No on-site management. Didn't catch anyone until 3rd day, so never got bathroom key. Noisy, located next to truck stop. Bone dry, not much shade. Mostly workers -- not vacationers. No outside picnic tables. However, they have a very nice room with tables, a big fridge, real oven and sink. So you could cook there if you want to haul your stuff over or have a large crowd. However, it was the nicest and most conveniently located for the city. Others in the area would be hard to maneuver in a rig even our size (28'). We camped at Nakatosh RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
