The good - An older park, but nice. Lots of permanent campers, with many sites appearing to be occupied for many weeks or months. Friendly service from the park office. Daily trash pickup. Sites are mostly back-in, but are level. Wifi and cable TV worked fine. Staff members were accommodating and helpful. The price was very reasonable. The bad - Hwy. 90 from Lafayette to New Orleans (which you have to take to get to New Iberia) is TERRIBLE. The roughest highway I have driven in a long time. Make sure you have everything in your rig tied down and secured and drive very carefully or you will find broken or damaged items when you get to the campground. The state is in the process of making some repairs to the highway, but they have a long way to go. We camped at KOC Kampground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to visit Avery Island (where they make Tabasco sauce) - very nice tour. There are also several plantation homes in the area that are open for viewing. There is also a nice, little museum south of New Iberia at Jeanerette that focuses on local history and the Louisiana sugar industry.

Large park with lots of permanent campers, but not lots of interaction. New owners, who are making improvements, and are nice people. We were in site 58 (?) up front close to the entrance. Some road noise from route 90, but it was not bad later in the evening. The previous review is correct, route 90 is terrible from New Orleans to New Iberia. Wife used laundry room close to our site, and it was okay, 3 washers 3 dryers and small folding table, but no where to hang clothes. We would stay again at up front sites. We camped at KOC Kampground in a Motorhome.

Be sure to visit Avery Island and the Tabasco Factory. We also drove thru the Jungle Gardens at Avery Island, but it is early, and not much in bloom. On Sunday, we attended the Episcopal church of the Epiphany, 8am service, rite I. Nice service, nice people....one lady even apologized for the roads in Louisiana. Have breakfast at Victor's Cafeteria, you will get your money's worth.

Not a COUNTRY CLUB, but a very nice park. Clean well maintained grounds. Shaded space. Quiet setting. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent cell phone signal and pretty decent WiFi if a you can live with a few disconnects. We stayed a week and will definitely would stay there again if in that part of Louisiana again. Space number is a made up one because I don't remember it and don't have access to my receipt. review won't post without it. We camped at KOC Kampground in a Fifth Wheel.

If you are new to Louisiana you must try the fast food place called Raising Cain Chicken Fingers. All they do is fried chicken fingers (tenders) and they do them really well. Very few sides are offered, but the chicken is wonderful.

Lots of full timers, but a nice park. So close to Avery Island. Beautiful trees. Cement patio. Site was level. I would recommend this park for those visiting the area, but find another route to get here except 90. off of I10. The road was the worst we have ever been on. Maybe 167 off of I10. Loved our visit to Avery Island. We camped at KOC Kampground in a Fifth Wheel.

The campground is convenient to down town New Iberia, Avery Island, and the Konrad Rice Company mill and store. We stayed overnight, and would probably stay again. A new owner bought the campground 6 months ago and has improved the roads a lot since our last visit. His next project is drainage. It was very wet after all of the rain over the last several weeks, and our pedestal was in the middle of a 2-inch puddle. Grading will do a lot for this. A lot of the people staying there are workers, but after the 5:30 AM rush, It was quiet until we went to bed. We camped at KOC Kampground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here to visit Avery Island. The staff was extremely helpful, and even suggested we tour the Conrad Rice Mill (which was fun) and directed us towards a great place for dinner. Looks like most people are long term but sites are kept up well. Pad sites are grass/gravel but fairly level and all hookups worked without a problem. We would stay here again if passing through. We camped at KOC Kampground in a Fifth Wheel.

The site was a pull-through on grass. We had to use leveling blocks due to the uneven area. We arrived late and had a hard time finding the site. They are not in any type of numerical order. The staff were extremely helpful and allowed us to stay after checkout time so we could tour Avery Island and the local sites. They recommended local favorite restaurants and we weren't disappointed. We camped at KOC Kampground in a Fifth Wheel.

Avery Island: McIelleney Tabasco Factory, Jungle Gardens

Bon Creole Lunch Counter (Shrimp Po'Boy and Bread Pudding dessert were delicious!) Local diner, not much to look at but worth the food, it was busy while we were there.

This is the best park in the area. Large gravel sites with concrete patios. There are a lot of permanent residents, but everything is neat and tidy. Office personnel was very friendly and helpful. Good 50 amp service. We could not have asked for more in this area. We camped at KOC Kampground in a Motorhome.

Great location for seeing this area. Going to tour Avery Island (Tabasco Company) and local rice company. We are on our way to New Orleans. Call to get directions as it can be slightly confusing, especially if you are a big rig.

This park has a beautiful entrance and outside office area. Gravel drive but not alot of dust. Yes there are permanent campers here but in the oil region of the south where do you not find them. They were well kept up and did not detract from the property. The check in office lady was VERY informative, telling of the areas attractions and eating establishments. This is a very nice campground beautiful pool and area for kids playground. Did not use the bathrooms or laundry. Highly recommend this campground for staying and touring the area. We camped at KOC Kampground in a Motorhome.

An okay campground for visiting Cajun Country and New Iberia. We're here with a group and this is base camp for a few days. We're basically in a grass field with a small cement pad, full hook-ups, cable TV and really good WiFi at the moment. The laundry room and bathrooms are adequate. Would like to see a little more money spent on infrastructure. For visiting the area, the campground is fine. Louisiana State Parks better for vacation destinations. We camped at KOC Kampground in a Travel Trailer.

The park does have several full timers there. The lady in the office was very friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi was adequate. The laundry room was a write-off. It was filthy and it took several hours to do. Machines were broken down and inefficient at drying. Two out of the three washers worked sporadically. It was a cheap stay and we got what we paid for. Wouldn't recommend this park. We camped at KOC Kampground in a Motorhome.

Perfect location for a short drive to Avery Island. Site 51 was level, good electric, good wi-fi, clean showers, didn't use the pool but others did. Price reflects Good Sam discount. For a taste of Louisiana foods, take a food tour from Avery Island. We camped at KOC Kampground in a Fifth Wheel.

Just down the street from Avery island. Very friendly. Patio space at each site. Extremely clean and well located. Good Sam discounts. 20-30-50 amp available. Cable is actually Direct TV. Very welcoming of pets, large play field, fishing free. Outdoor swimming pool is refreshing. More than I expected for the cost. Great Wi-Fi is free We camped at KOC Kampground in a Motorhome.

OK place to stay to tour the Tobasco factory and New Iberia area but not a destination campground. Many sites were long term residents working in the area and some of those trailers were run down and had junk outside. Verizon voice and data service excellent. We camped at KOC Kampground in a Travel Trailer.
