This is *fairly* good option while viziting NO. As campgrounds go, it's OK. Great staff, fair price, reasonably well spaced. However, the railroad isn't just a stretch of track with trains traveling thru intermittently. It abuts a switching yard where they are constantly building trains 24/7. Engines powering up or braking. The ringing of steel wheels on steel rails. Just be forewarned. It wasn't a deal breaker for me. But, I did grow weary of it. Second important thing. If you're going into town each day, the bus system is very erratic. Thirty minutes waits are common. It's two buses to The French Quarter. It typically took us 90 minutes. The bus drivers are excellent and patient. Taxis run about $20 plus tip. We felt safe, but, like most of the ring around NO, it's pretty gritty. If you've traveled in Mexico, you should be comfortable in these parts.... We camped at Three Oaks and a Pine in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

There is nothing fancy about this campground. It is a very level lot for you to securely park your camper with full hookups. The sites were good sized with plenty of room for any sized rig. There is a dog park and a lounge, bath/shower rooms, and laundry facility on site. There is an active train track that runs right along the back of the property but, surprisingly, we were not disturbed by the train at all and never heard a horn. We stayed overnight and it is very convenient to The French Quarter. The host was very accommodating, they had great water pressure, and everything worked as expected. We camped at Three Oaks and a Pine in a Travel Trailer.

This is a clean, gated, safe place for your RV, but nothing fancy. The park is just a large graveled lot with perimeter back-ins, BUT it is close to New Orleans, afterall you come here for the City and not to hang out at the RV park. Train noise was barely heard and not a problem for us. Staff was really nice and the facilities clean and well kept. For the practical purpose it serves this is a good deal, for sure we'd stay here again, and they take PA. We camped at Three Oaks and a Pine in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Uber was just $12.00 to take us to the French quarter, much safer than public transportation and they pick you up right at the park.

Booked 3 nites stayed 5 just before xmas. Immediately noticed good size park. Very cold day. Owner almost insisted my wife and I remain inside and warm as he backed us in (customer service at its finest) check in was quick and efficent. Very clean office and laundry. Restrooms roomy and clean. Neighborhood questionable, felt safe with gated security. Even after hours owner seemed to be right there make sure no problems. Very quiet at night. Except for trains. Plenty info on sightseeing available. When uber came the owner escorted the driver directly to our parking spot( again great customer service) $14.00 to french quarter. Yes will stay again. Only one issue. Went to Ask for cable box on 3rd day, the two girls in the office tried but couldnt figure it out and bagan getting loud. Until then customer service was outstanding. We camped at Three Oaks and a Pine in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here 5 nights in our travel trailer. The park itself is hard to get into coming from the East. The sites are big. Bathrooms were clean. The neighborhood was horrible, but security was good with a gated entry. It was convenient to go downtown by uber, bus, or driving. We camped at Three Oaks and a Pine in a Travel Trailer.

I stayed at this RV park from June 29 and checked out July 1. All the amenities provided were very good: there was cable, very clean bathrooms and showers. The staff was exceptional in regards to customer service; willing to answer questions and provide assistance when needed. Security wasn't a concern, it was gated with a security code for entrance, and cameras. Best Kept Secret! We camped at Three Oaks and a Pine in a Motorhome.

This is a no-frills park, nothing fancy; just a big lot with plenty of room to park your vehicle. The campsites had full hookups. T-Mobile cell service was not good. Satellite was very good. Washers and dryers were very good, $2.00 per load. We were there for 5 days over Memorial Day. We camped at Three Oaks and a Pine in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

What it does offer is a reasonable rate with local transportation to the French Quarter and surrounding areas. Pay $3.00 per person and ride any bus or street car all day. Personally I am not a big user of transportation systems but all worked out very well. Bus stop was across the street from the RV park, people on the bus were very helpful with the stops. The best thing we did was to stop at the visitor center on I-10 and pick up a map of the city. The agents at the visitor center were extremely helpful on explaining how to get around in New Orleans. That map was our life saver. The street cars were terrific. The WWII museum is not to be missed. Lunch at the museum was also outstanding.

Within a couple of miles on Rt 90 were most any store you would need: grocery, Walmart, Home Depot.

Overall Rating:

This park is bare bones on ambiance but it was more than sufficient for our needs with full hookups. We used blocks to level easily. Even though it's in a rough part of town, it has excellent security. The drive-in and walk-through gates close at 7:pm and guests need the codes to exit and enter. The whole park is surrounded by a solid fence. We never felt unsafe. Although there's a train yard behind the park the noise from it was intermittent. There is a race track nearby that we heard late some nights. Earplugs solved that. The bathrooms/shower rooms were like new and very clean. Possibly the cleanest we've seen. Laundry room was clean and in good working order. The manager was very friendly and helpful, explaining points of interest and how the city bus system works. We found public transportation to be safe and easy to maneuver. The Jazzy Pass is only $3 per person for 24 hrs of use on any city bus or Trolley. It took us approximately 1/2 hr to get from the park to the French Quarter. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Three Oaks and a Pine in a Motorhome.

Unfortunately, this is a travelled parking lot. Our view from the back of the rv was over the fence to a junkyard! And the rest was a railroad car storage area. The pet area was a damp spot under 2 trees. On the positive side, the people working there were superb. Very nice people. Would never stay there again. Live and learn and make the best out of what you get. We camped at Three Oaks and a Pine in a Fifth Wheel.

I have stayed in this park before and wasn't disappointed when I came back this winter. They have continued to make improvements to the park. Added another washer and dryer, and a little more landscaping. I have checked out all the parks locally and can tell you this one is the best value. Convenient location to NOLA in a gated lot with clean restrooms and showers (one has a bath tub). It has clean picnic tables, full hookups, cable and wifi. We felt safe in this park. Came for one night, stayed for two. Will definitely come here when staying in or passing through NOLA. Good prices , higher for holidays and Mardi Gras. There are trains at one end of the campground, but we weren't bothered by it. Stay nearer to the front of the lot. Dogs allowed and there is a small fenced area for them under a big shade tree. I left off one star because it's a gravel lot without landscaping. It's a safe, clean place to leave your things while exploring New Orleans.

Try to stay closer to the entrance or middle. The train is close to the back fence. Take the gate code with you when you go out. We camped at Three Oaks and a Pine in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The RV parks for New Orleans are in a wretched neighborhood and this is among them. As I drove by the others on my way to the French Quarter, they all seemed pretty much the same: basic place to park while you take in the city--the park is not the destination, New Orleans is. This park has full hookups, all back in and easy to maneuver. I needed levelers at my spot. There is at least one staff person at the front area under the gazebo at all times; there is a gate that locks when the sun goes down and guests are given a pass code. In addition, there is a bell that goes off whenever anyone goes in or out. The park felt very secure in spite of the rough neighborhood. There is a motel next door and one night briefly I heard commotion and there is some motorcycle group that rides up and down the street in front of the park every day: annoying. There are the trains in the back but they are not particularly noisy: more like ambient noise, at least towards the front, where I was. Has a clean laundry room. I stayed 12 days and enjoyed all of them in spite of the noise: but this is New Orleans. We camped at Three Oaks and a Pine in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Not far at all from the French Quarter. I found driving the surface streets there less crazy than taking I-10, but that is not saying much. The drivers there are maniacs. Also not far from the park, there is a lovely promenade and picnic area at Lake Pontchartrain on the way to the University of New Orleans.

Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. Wide and level sites. Excellent utilities. Cable available but we used our satellite. Good fast WiFi. All sites are easy back in. If you want to take public transportation into downtown, it is right across the street. It is not the most beautiful park but is excellent for an urban setting. I would definitely stay here again. Basic RV park. Friendly and helpful staff. Sites level and easy to back into. Small clean and modern shower/toilet room. Good power, water, and sewer hookups. Not a pretty park but it is clean. Pads are gravel. Good security which is important because the location is not in the best part of town. Entire park is fenced and gated so we felt secure. Rail yard where they switch rails cars is immediately behind the park so you
hear some banging and clanging noise 24/7. Very little noise in terms of train whistles or fast moving trains. Slight road noise. Noise did not bother us. Easy to find with good signs. Excellent access to the french quarter. Uber service worked great at a cost of about $12-$20 one way. Good price. We camped there in a motorhome for a week. Will stay again.
