I come here every spring, we love it! The camp host is the best!, He always takes care of us and keeps an eye on things when we are gone. We thank our camp host! Park is very clean. The road around campground was pea gravel and paved around the other parts of the park areas. Nice fish cleaning station with lighted areas at night. I will definitely return here. - Mike Patterson

Quiet and shady. Absolutely loved it. The only thing that could be better is sewer hook up. However the park does offer the use of a portable tank. Also offers ice delivery using your ice chest. Wow! - Cpate

This is a small, extremely well run county campground. Gravel and pine needle sites, heavily shaded sites, reasonably level with picnic tables, fire rings garbage cans and nice charcoal grill/smokers. A few long termers/workers, but nice. A view of the lake and very clean showers and restrooms. Looking forward to coming here again. This is our 2nd visit here. - horsefolk

This is a decent CG with long pull throughs, Good AT&T Cell & 3 bars of LTE data, Good Dish Sat & 8 OTA channels. Very tight turn getting to the office. My motorhome & dinghy is 63' from front to rear & I made it so it is doable. Just stay as far to the left as you can. There is a nice little pond in the center with some ducks. The entrance road could use some more gravel on it to cut down on the dust, Friendly staff. - Lugnuts

Nice n' clean small park, friendly folks. Doesn't seem to be much to do in the area, but a great place to relax or just overnight. - MsLucy

Very nice quiet, comfortable RV park. Our site was level, water, electric and WiFi all worked fine. Restrooms, showers, laundry and grounds were all clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our site, 17, was right next to the pond which made our stay even nicer. - docsouce

Beautiful forest campground-huge paved sites. Wide with tables, fire rings. Access to the lake is limited due to shoreline brush but what an amazing value for such a beautiful spot. Verizon signal was quite weak, no streaming here. - AdrianaW

We stayed here for two nights. The sites have water and electric but no sewer hookup although there is a dump station. The sites were far enough apart that you weren't bothered by other campers. Nice area close to the lake. The only drawback this time of year is the mosquitoes. Be sure to bring repellant. All in all I would camp here again. - MEB13

Reserved two out-of-season nights at the campground; we were one of two campers in the entire campground. It was a beautiful spot overlooking Upper Caney Lake (site 16). Unfortunately, there was no water pressure anywhere in the campground when we arrived and throughout the night and into the following day. A water main serving the park fractured and was under repair. It would have been nice if there was a sign at the park entrance or the camp host came down to let us know about the problem before we got deep into the park. After calling the ranger station and learning about the problem, we were told that the repair would be completed by the end of the day and water would be back on...it wasn't. The bathrooms are spartan (typical for some state and national park campgrounds. The showers were simple and showed a lot of wear and tear. Hard to argue about the cost of a night's stay but, were very disappointed about the lack of water and having to take the initiative to find out what the problem was. The park staff could have been much more proactive. I would return again to the park in the future. Note: Google Maps takes a crazy route through Minden to get to the park. There are two campgrounds...Beaver Dam Campground and Upper Caney Lake Campground. Beaver Dam Campground is closed in the winter. Google can find Beaver Dam but not Upper Caney Lake. - Flamingo_Road_Trip
