This is an exceptional RV park. It has 2 pools (one for adults only), nice play ground, cement driveways and pads, table and bbq at every site. The turns are wide with easy access the utilities are well placed with cement around the hook-ups. The trees are small but provide shade and there is grass between the sites. It is about 2.5 miles from Interstate 10, the road the park is very busy and is noisy. We would come back at $35 it is a bargain. We camped at A+ Motel & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots to do in the area, the Creole Nature trail was great. The portion we took was about 100 miles with numerous walks. Take a lunch very few places to eat. In Lake Charles we had lunch at Luna's Bar and Grill it was outstanding.

Stayed in a 45 motorhome. Not friendly to big rigs. There are difficult turns that have very large boulders placed to keep vehicles off the grass. Unfortunately they are way too close to the corners. The sites are big enough with concrete pads. We camped at A+ Motel & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We just stopped for an overnight but we'll come back for several days for rest and relaxation. This is a very clean and new park. A lot of thought went into building this park. There's plenty of room between sites, plenty of room to walk and to walk your dog. There's a gym, fishing lake, gazebo and even a small motel so you don't have to have your relatives sleeping in your rig! ;) For overnights we usually go for a cheaper place but I'm glad we didn't this time. $35 is more than reasonable for what this place has to offer. Easy to use our rooftop satellite dish, although they have cable. We've been gone for 2 months and this is the BEST wifi we've had...just like home. Give it a try. We camped at A+ Motel & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lake Charles isn't far away to gamble or whatever. There's a nice restaurant down the street, Le Bleu's. Family Dollar close by. There's a 24 hour WalMart Supercenter on the north side of I-10 along with some other grocery stores not far from the park.

Great private campground located about 2.5 miles south of I-10. The sites are level and the pull through we had was great. There is a very nice exercise room located on site along with two pools (one adult only) and a hot tub. They also have a nice covered pavilion with large screen TV and tables. WiFi worked adequately. We were able to pick up a few local channels with batwing antenna. AT&T service was OK in the area. The campground was well maintained and the garbage was picked up from your site each morning. We camped at A+ Motel & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Several grocery stores and Walmart located in Sulphur. Casinos and other activities located in Lake Charles. We took one day to tour a portion of the Creole Nature Trail which is a 100 mile loop through the bayous located in the area.

Beautiful campground: large, paved, level sites with picnic tables. Nice private pond for fishing enthusiasts. Bathroom, showers, and laundry area were very nice and well kept. Meeting/rally room was quite sufficient for our group of approximately 40. We camped at A+ Motel & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of great eating in south Louisiana!

This is a very well run RV park, run in conjunction with a small motel. Somewhat narrow pull throughs, but negotiable. Excellent stop over along I-10 in Louisiana. Very friendly and efficient check in. We camped at A+ Motel & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Casinos in Lake Charles are a good place to visit, whether you want to gamble, eat good food or partake in a nice resort atmosphere.

We stayed only one night at the A+ RV Park and Motel (right next to A+ Self-Storage) in Sulphur, Louisiana. I had very low expectations of the park, but the pickings in the area were few and far between and my first choice was full. Well, those expectations were met and then some. We had a very level concrete pad, so since we were just overnight, we didn't need to unhook the toad, one less thing for the "wonder husband" to do. It had been a very long driving day, so to unwind we hit the gym which was pretty remarkable and the best we've seen so far. Three treadmills, two ellipticals and both a full set of free weights plus a multi-function machine - like I said, it was both comprehensive and useful, including TV's, music, and a few comfy chairs to rest between reps. Plus the gym is right next to the bathhouse. We did not use the bathhouse or laundry, so have no opinion on those.

One of the best features of the park is a man-made pond, stocked with catfish and bass. My husband was sorry we weren't staying another day so he could do some fishing. Lastly, the other big pluses are good cable and really good wi-fi. Of course it doesn't hurt to be right near a cell tower, but they were sprinkled throughout the park so it seemed they "got it" on the wi-fi issue.

On the cons, the dog park was muddy, off in a corner and even with overflow parking nearby, some folks felt fine with clogging up the "lanes", making it difficult to maneuver our class A and toad. And the adults-only pool looked dirty (but on the other hand, I saw a guy picking up single pieces of trash and cleaning grills the next day, so this pool issue just may be because this isn't the time of year when it gets much use.)

All in all, a great park! If we're passing through again, we'll be sure to spend a couple of days here. We camped at A+ Motel & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Nearby Lake Charles has casinos, and the fishing and watersports are prevalent in Southwest Louisiana.

Good Sam rate for an overnight stay. Site was a FHU, 50 amp, level, pull-thru, concrete site. The park is well maintained with manicured lawns at each site. Satellite reception was good. Verizon cell/MiFi reception was good. Early morning noise as the long term residents depart for work. We would stay here again. We camped at A+ Motel & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Don't be put off by the "Motel and RV Park" name. This is not a line of RV sites stuck behind a motel as an afterthought. This is a beautiful, large, well-kept RV Park. Check-in was very professional and the motel office is staffed 24 hours. The sites are long, concrete, have a picnic table on a patio and a nice little perfectly manicured grass lawn between each site. Big rigs should have no problem. Hookups were conveniently located and in good shape. There is also a nice fishing pond and a fenced dog run, but the mosquitos were vicious at the dog run so use bug repellent. There are two restroom buildings with laundry facilities in each. The one I used was great. About eight of each washers & dryers and two folding tables. There's even an iron and ironing board. Also coin machine and laundry products vending machine. All was spotlessly clean like everything else in the park. My only small complaint is that the shower rooms each have a door and a bench or chair, but no shower curtain inside so it might be difficult to keep your towels and clean clothes dry. I used our own shower so can't comment further. There are two pools, family and adult-only with a hot tub, and a pretty well-equipped workout room. There is also garbage pickup right from your site between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. daily which is a nice touch. Verizon signal was very strong and the wi-fi worked better than most places. My only caution would be that it appears to be 90% at least long-term residents and it could be difficult to get in. We lucked out and they had a space for four nights, but it was the only one available and I only saw about four other openings while we were here on Thanksgiving week. I would definitely make a reservation or at least call ahead to be sure you can get in. Other than that, this is a great place and at $35 for Good Sam members it's a very good value. We would absolutely stay here again. We camped at A+ Motel & RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

Birding at both the Cameron Wildlife Refuge and the Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge was excellent and shell collecting on the Gulf beaches south of town was fantastic. If you go to Rockefeller Wildlife refuge, the wildlife drive is on a poorly marked turnoff just west of the Headquarters.

I was not as impressed with this park as most people have been. The roads and sites are paved/cement and most sites are pull-through of a decent size. The park was fairly full with mostly extended stay customers - many of them appeared (lots of pick up trucks with company logos) to be staying here because they are working in the area. We were in a level, concrete, pull-through site. The cable TV was about 40 channels and the Internet was OK for us in the RV. There are few trees, so most sites appear to be open enough for good satellite TV reception. On the surface, the park is quite nice: 2 pools (family and adult), a playground, a large fishing pond, 2 bathhouses and laundries, a meeting house, extra parking for vehicles and boats, and a small gym with exercise machines. Unfortunately, both pools are small and the adult pool is one of those "cutely" shaped pools in which you can't even swim 10' in straight line. I was able to enjoy the family pool since I was the only one there initially and I could actually swim 20'. The men's section of the bathhouse nearest us was under repair. The only thing usable were the stalls. The only urinal was off the wall and all the shower heads from the 3 showers stalls were removed. All this debris was lying in front of the only sink. There was no mention of this situation when we checked in. I saw no restaurants or good stores (Dollar General doesn't count) within easy walking distance of the park. We camped at A+ Motel & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Price reflects Good Sam discount for 30-amp, back-in site.

Good concrete pads, level. Wi-Fi worked well. Cable TV had a few fuzzy channels.

Easy check-in at the motel office. Just used as an overnight stop. We camped at A+ Motel & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great park, one of the best ever. Most sites are wide pull-thurs with plenty of room for our trailer and truck. All of the utilities worked well, including the wifi, and were well placed. Sites are spacious with grass, a patio and picnic table. There are two pools, one for adults only with a hot tub. The fitness facility is awesome with three treadmills, two elliptical, free weights and a multiple position weight machine. Everything was well taken care of including daily trash pick-up at the site. The only quirk was that they ask you not to put hoses or wires on the grass. I suspect this request is for lawn care. We camped at A+ Motel & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The park is located on the Creole Nature Trail.
