Nothing has changed since the review from April 2017, roads are sand, water puddles the size of my truck. The power and water were OK, the sewer holes were plugged I could not dump my tanks, bad deal. Tree branches needed trimming in the sites I could fit in. All other rigs here were permanent residents, several were very bad condition. Verizon had 2 bar signal. Sorry but I would not come back here again. - Diablo

Have never stayed at more welcoming place, and now I actually live on the property. Owner is an absolute sweetheart. Goes above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. I highly recommend to come stay a night or more. - Passionatecook

Internal roads are dirt, rough and narrow, sites are grass, mostly level and ours was a pull-through, facilities worked well. Staff were friendly, most of the sites are for permanent residents. The road to the park was very narrow, probably should be a one-way but I didn't see any signs. T-Mobile cell service was good 4G LTE. The park was quiet. We would stay here again. - KDSpree

Think of this place like you are going to camp in someones back yard that happens to have a nice bath house and multiple full hook ups and it is right on the river. We tent camped as we were meeting friends here and did not know what to expect. We know for our next trip that we will be bringing our travel trailer and won't have any problems. I can say for sure there is water and 20/30amp available at multiple sites. I did not look to see if there was a dump station or 50amp but will check next time. We were here on a holiday weekend and almost had the park to ourselves it is very quiet but a lot of fun if you enjoy hanging out on the river. - Nizzy

Great park - large sites, well maintained by the friendly camp hosts. There's even a little library to borrow books and DVDs. Plenty of room for our 5th wheel. The Louisiana Dutch Oven Society meets out here each month as well! If we return to this area, we'll definitely stop here again. - Red Wolf

Park staff / hosts kept the comfort station immaculate and any bits of trash were picked up at least 2x daily. Park has many assets worth exploring... fishing, swimming, or canoeing in the river or stocked ponds, well marked Gorge Run hiking / bicycle trail as well as an equestrian trail throughout the park and woodlands. Interesting bluffs surrounding the swamp in the gorge and the eroded red clay of Fricke Cave at the end of the boardwalk in the lower gorge run. - Swampy

This is a beautiful park, with a great five mile loop trail, and plenty of roads for bicycles. There are also small ponds for fishing, and even internet service. The sites have plenty of room, with some trees and shrubs. The showers are old, but mostly clean. We stayed in the upper campground, but we thought the lower campground had more charm, with many sites on a small lake. - Atnt Life Grand
Sep 2017 - $33.00
My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in our travel trailer with our 3 small dogs. The grounds were beautifully maintained. We enjoyed the sunset over the lake every evening. We mainly camp to relax so we mainly spent our time walking, cooking out, and playing with the dogs. We did not try out the disk golf, zip lines, or rent a canoe. The RV sites in the small loop where we stayed were pretty far apart. The concrete pad for your RV is not very wide so bring a rug for your chairs unless you don't mind sitting in the dirt. Some of the sites had wooden decks so this would not be a problem. - MissBamaNurse
May 2017 - $28.00
My family was extremely disappointed with our trip. We paid for 5 nights and ended up leaving 2 days early because the park began to fill up with not 1 or 2 loud obnoxious campers but almost the whole camping area was taken over by locals, with loud music blaring from their golf carts driven by intoxicated adults, while children and pets roamed free. Obviously those who came knew that there was a lack of authority and that management did not enforce their own rules, and used the campground for a party spot, not actual "camping". It was not a kid-friendly atmosphere once the party showed up, which was just getting started (which is why we left early)...very disappointing. Also the lake is full of stumps that are hard to see for boaters when the water is high. - bmz03

Beautiful! Park did fill up after we arrived but we didn't feel cramped. Poor internet service with verizon cell phone. Will go again though. - Roscoe201
