11 Parks near Washington, Louisiana
Jun 2016 - $40.00
We stayed at this park in 2014 and it was maintained lots better then. The paved roads were full of potholes and the gravel was almost nonexistent. There was no cap on our sewer. The site was not level. Laundry and bath/showers were air conditioned. Driving to the park gave you a feeling of being in the bayou wilderness. The staff was friendly. - Islandcpa
Mar 2016 - $34.00
Secluded remote location. Poor local access roads. Gravel uneven interior roads. Power went out in park for 3 hours but was ok after that. Not level sites and old hookups. Cable TV reception was poor. Pretty Lake with well manicured grass. Very quiet. Would not stay here again. Motorhome 36' - OnNTwo

Jun 2011 - $21.00
We recently spent the weekend at Cajun Campground. The last time we were here was 2 years ago, and we really enjoyed it then. This time, it did not appear to be very well maintained. The lake appeared to be a dumpsite, trash all over in the lake. People would not pick up after their pets, dog mess all over the place. Bathroom was fairly clean, but very hot and uncomfortable. Our campsite was full of bottle caps and fire ants. There are 2 dumpsters in the park, and both are near the campers, and the smell was horrible. Pool was clean, but cost extra to use it. The campground staff were very friendly. - User1309
May 2016 - $28.00
Far from highway--a bit rough with narrow roads and hanging trees for our 35 ft class A. Pretty trees, very narrow asphalt pads but level. Water standing on ground so beware. Place full of mosquitos. Was deserted and if the office staff is as rude to everyone as to us, I can see why. Website says $22--No, it is $28 1st night THEN $22. They have ready excuses not to honor America 50 pass so forget that. We won't be back as we don't like to pay money for rudeness. - Sharon J
Oct 2015 - $22.00
There are two campgrounds here. This review is for the South campground. This is a nice park, but the shower room was pretty nasty. Really old and uninviting and a really long walk from most campsites. There was a reasonable amount of space between most sites and most seemed to be long enough to easily accommodate big rigs, but some of the roads around the loops were very steep and narrow. Could be a problem for some big rigs. And a fair number of them slope really steeply away from the road. I can't imagine ever being able to get level front to back on them. The grounds were fairly clean, but there was a bit of trash around. At $22 for electric and water PLUS a ripoff $6 "transaction fee", I think it's a bit overpriced for a public campground. It's by a lake, but the South campground is not on the lake and there is no view of it. Maybe the North campground is better, but we didn't drive up to see it. It's several miles from the south camp. They do give 50% senior pass discount, but you still get nailed with the $6 handling fee. I'm not aware of any other options in the immediate area, so this is fine for an overnight. - Pdxjoanne
Jul 2015 - $22.00
Rate above does not include the silly $6 reservation fee. You also can not move or transfer sites until AFTER you have checked in.
We stayed in the south camp ground and had sites 2 through 4. The entire south campground is more geared for tents as the water / electric connections are either really far back or on the wrong side. We managed to get our travel trailer on site 3 with no problems and we had tents on 2 and 4. The restroom by the dump stations at south campground was in need of repairs, as the floor stayed wet. It also didn't help some local kids decided to discharge a fire extinguisher in the restroom. The other two restrooms in the south campground had showers. Wife said the women's showers were in stalls. The men's were both group showers which we said no thanks. Overall, the entire south campground is very un-level and backing into some sites would be a challenge. When we went to leave there are two dump stations at the south campground, for some reason everyone insisted on stopping at the first one and not pulling up to the second one, this caused a long traffic back out just to get out of the camp ground.
We did go and check out the north camp ground, it is geared all to RV's. Some of those sites are VERY close together there were 4 we saw that were completely unusable due to being in disrepair. There were two more dump stations in the north camp ground as well. We did not visit the restrooms/showers to inspect them but we heard they are much nicer.
Bring A LOT of mosquito repellent we have never had this many bug bits after a weekend of camping. Camp hosts were friendly and nice and the park has a lot to offer. Warning the pool is closed due to state budget issues but the water play ground is open. - Nizzy
May 2016 - $20.00
We stayed at this park in Feb of this year, and liked it so much we stopped again for an overnight stay. They didn't disappoint! There are some issues with interior roads that have been damaged by heavy rains and heavy motor homes but they advised they have scheduled repairs. This park is off the beaten track, and frankly the roads in LA leave a lot to be desired. The roads were so rough getting to the park we said we may not stop here again. Which is a shame. This park is beautiful and relaxing, with almost all sites around small fishing lakes. There are only a couple of pull-through sites. Hate that the State and County roads are so lousy getting here. - Vicki K
Apr 2016 - $32.00
Price reflects 2 days Passport America, 3 days full price. We had site 29 and it was perfect for us. The park was very clean and well maintained. We backed up to a fishing pond with a small tree for shade. One of the nicest RV parks we have stayed. Staff was friendly and assisted us in with sight-seeing in the area. - dalebonnie
Mar 2016 - $20.00
We spent 2 nights here at the Passport America rate of $20/night. All utilities worked well, OTA antenna picked up several TV stations. Verizon Voice and hotspot worked well. No trees so the rooftop dish also worked well. The road was blacktop and site was concrete backing up to a large pond. Very quite and dark at night. 10 or so minutes from I10 on several country roads but many signs providing good directions. Office staff friendly. - big greg
Apr 2016 - $11.00
This is a very nice municipal park in the heart of Opelousas. The other reviews describe it well. Water and electric is included. Here seem to be a mix of 30 amp and 50 amp boxes. We stayed in section D, which is adjacent to a little ball park on the left as you enter. These are all back in sites on grass. In April, there were about 5 campers total so we had our pick. I would definitely stay here again, particularly if I needed to be in Opelousas for any reason. This is about 2 miles from the interstate. Good Att and Verizon. Water tastes great. The entry roads are a bit tight, but we got our 39' motor home in without difficulty. The park is active, with nearby lighted tennis courts and baseball fields. - CharlieS
May 2015 - $10.00
Water and electric only. Lots of shade trees and large sites. No manager or office onsite. Just park and someone will come by. - Nibot
Jul 2014 - $10.00
Great place to overnight. We got there around 10 pm and within 15 minutes a city worker in uniform and marked vehicle came around and collected the $10. Well lit. We are 13'6" high and were able to get down Market Street to the park without clipping the top with the low hanging branches. We pulled into the big lot on the left as you come in; we were the only ones there. Easy hookups on the utility poles. Didn't check out the bathroom as we are self contained. Park is very nice and well kept. They lock the gate at 11:00 and re-open at 6:30 am. - The Reverse Snowbirds
Oct 2015 - $40.00
Not sure of nightly rate as we stayed for one month and had full hookups. Sites were spacious, lots if shade from pine trees. The only pitfall were the mosquitos!! They were horrible! Bring lots of Deet with you. This is such an active park tho. Every Friday there was music with live bands in the barn. Halloween trick or treaters for 3 weekends leading up to the "official" Halloween night with lots of decoration's on display. We would stay again for sure cuz those "skeeters" won't keep us away. - HillCountryRV0128
Jul 2015 - $40.00
This is the place to go with the grandkids - very family friendly & fun.
Very nice lake / beach swim area where the kids had a blast. Nice little fishing lake. Very cool barn dance area on weekends that party's until the wee hours with a live band.
Older resort park with gravel pads, appears to be a problem if it has rained for a few days & the ground gets soft.
Employees are helpful & can be often seen - experience in other areas employees are infrequently noticed. - JSRFrench
May 2015 - $40.00
Nice park with lots to do!
1). Great beach area with fresh water pond to swim in. Lots of inflatable slides, jump toys for kids.
2). Very cool barn that was transitioned into a bar where live bands play.
3). Lots of pine trees that give good shade throughout the day.
4). Large pond for fishing.
5). Lots of space at each site
1). Sites are gravel and often not level. But not a huge deal - I used leveling blocks.
2). When it rains, the park gets very very muddy. We even left a day early because it was such a mess at our site.
Overall, we were pleasantly surprised. We will definitely visit again. - Doc BJG
Jul 2016 - $36.00
Nice little layover RV park while your travell big between destinations. The location is good for easy off/easy on and the charged a very reasonable price. As previous reviewers have stated the freeway noise is always present but it's not obnoxious in my book. I recommend the park and would stay here again. - Pigcrib
Jun 2016 - $36.00
Everything was in great shape, very well maintained and clean. The lady at check-in was very personable and helpful. Breaux Bridge is a sweet little town with some great food and music. Recommend staying for a few days and exploring the area! - The Reverse Snowbirds
May 2016 - $34.00
This park is convenient to the Interstate. Noise didn't bother us because we didn't sit outside much due to heat and humidity. Nice level sites. Lovely sitting garden and dog park with gliders. The park has gone out of the way to make it pleasant. Nice trees. - Breeze On
Oct 2015 - $27.00
This is an ok place for an overnight. Not too many choices in the area. Spaces are close. Roads front and back make for some road noise, and there's a railroad track nearby with the accompanying whistles, but doesn't appear to be a very busy line. Didn't use the restroom, was told there was no shower room. We're self contained so didn't care. Check in was prompt and professional and friendly and the young lady was happy to answer any questions and make recommendations in the area. Might stay again if I'm in the area. - Pdxjoanne
Dec 2013 - $24.00
Initially, I was concerned about possible road noise as this small park sits between two roads. Concerns were allayed as this is a rural area, and what traffic there was diminished by 8 or 9 PM. The attractions in Eunice are easily accessable from the park's location. The owner of the park was quite helpful in advising some of the lesser known attractions, best times to attend, and restaurant recommendations. This is a small park, and I'm not sure I would use it for an extended stay. That said, I would return anytime I was in the area, be it for a couple of days or a couple of weeks. - ramblingsavage
