We love Indian Creek and have been camping here for years. We love the spacious spots and all the trees. A beautiful lake is in view of most spots. Quiet most of the time (weekends get busy with the lake activities). The staff is awesome and very helpful. The park is patrolled by local law enforcement and park staff are always making rounds. There is a beach area and hiking trails. A small town close by with a grocery store and Dollar store for items you need. A city (Alexandria) about 30 minutes away. Keep in mind pull-thrus here are divided into two sites. So, one half may be in use and making it difficult to get into your site (you may have to back in). We camped at Indian Creek Recreation Area Louisiana in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful clean well kept up. Electricity and water at all sites which are concrete. Lake fishing, beaches to swim, nice playgrounds for the kids. Too much to add here, please check out their web site. Full stay must be paid upon your reservation. We camped at Indian Creek Recreation Area Louisiana in a Motorhome.

We enjoy staying here. We've stayed at several different sites throughout the years...some better than others and we have our favorites. WiFi seems to finally be fixed. They keep it much cleaner than it was a couple of years ago. They only give 10% discount for seniors. Bathrooms could use air conditioning. For the most part, it's a beautiful park. We camped at Indian Creek Recreation Area Louisiana in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed one night at Indian Creek. It is a very peaceful and beautiful place. We had a site right on the water. The reason I rate this campground so low is because every site in the front loop was taken by what appeared to be people who use the place as a fish camp. Every single site had an RV with tents set up, boats parked, and a lot of miscellaneous stuff. On top of that, there were quite a few confederate flags being flown. The check in staff was neither friendly nor courteous. We've been fulltiming in our RV for over a year and this was the worst place we have ever stayed. We camped at Indian Creek Recreation Area Louisiana in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park. We came in January so the park was pretty empty, a few weekend campers and empty during the week. There is no sewer but two dump stations in the park. Bathrooms seem to be far away from the sites. There are many waterfront sites. We stayed at 54 with had water access as well as lots of land in the front of our RV with unobstructed view. We saw lots of deer on the road in and there is a nature trail around the park. As far as water views go, 100 & 95 would be my top picks. If you are camping with another RV, there are quite a few combined pull-thrus but if you got one solo and another camper reserved the other, it would be awkward as you are essentially in the same site. Roads are well maintained. We don't use satellite but I see lots of others with them out. AT&T and Verizon worked good, no boosters needed. We camped at Indian Creek Recreation Area Louisiana in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We camped here in a premium single pull thru (two pull thru's back to back in an arced drive) which was perfect to camp with our friends. We were in spots 83 and 84. The view of the lake was thru the trees but no other campsites between us and the lake edge. It was wonderfully quiet and peaceful, even with showers each day. This campground is not a Louisiana State Park but part of Louisiana Department of Forestry, hence, lots and lots of trees. We had a large tree right next to our pad so there were many roots at ground level. Some slope to the area but not a big drop off. We were about 50 yards from the lake edge with a small playground area between us and the lake. Perfect for families with small children. We didn't have a tow vehicle but would have had room for one on our pad. Easy to get in and out of our spot, even in our 40' Class A MH. Only drawback was no sewer hookup. They do have two dump stations within the park though. We camped at Indian Creek Recreation Area Louisiana in a Motorhome.

Nice park with shady spots. We had a back in spot on the lake. Real quite and relaxing. Not far from interstate. Only did an overnight would like to spend more time there. Would have given higher rate if it had sewer hookup. We camped at Indian Creek Recreation Area Louisiana in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful site, not far off I-49. $22 for a standard site, others may be more expensive. Most sites have concrete pads but some do not. Most sites fairly level. Flooding could be an issue in some sites. Decent WiFi. Laundry available: wash for $1.75, dryer $1.75 for 30 mins. We camped at Indian Creek Recreation Area Louisiana in a Travel Trailer.

First time for us. Nice place, peaceful and tons of shade. We fought no bugs at the time of our 6 day stay. They where pouring new concrete in lots of spots which was good to see. We saw lots of deer, and checked out the beaches. Wish this place was closer to home. Hope to return next year's vacation. The folks at the front gate where very friendly, and campers we met as well. Love the place. One more thing, if you get a chance: tour the near by old saw mill. We did, and it was pretty cool. We camped at Indian Creek Recreation Area Louisiana in a Fifth Wheel.

Park-like setting on a lake. It was a little hard to find a level site but we found a pull-through where we could get level. Good hookups, W/E. We did not use the dump station. We had a nice view of the lake. It was during the week so the park was pretty empty. We camped at Indian Creek Recreation Area Louisiana in a Motorhome.

This is a great park, with spacious sites. Some sites are so un-level, or elevated so that you would fall down from your steps, that are not usable. But almost all are waterfront or waterview. The grounds are kept up well. There are pull thru's and back in's, 50 amp and no septic but a dump station. It is quiet and peacefully scenic. A great overnight traveling I-49 thru LA. Overall Rating:

We have been going here since the early 70's. We all agree it has gone way down hill. The rates have gone up. Not an issue if it is spent upgrading or at the minimum maintaining the property. They spent the money on an entry gate with a computer payment box. But, you have to get out of your vehicle to use it, which holds up the line. It also charges a $3 fee on top of admittance for the convenience of using said box.

On the last night, there were 4 adults & 2 children that needed to bathe. So we thought we would take 2/2 to the showers for ease & quickness. The shower curtains are so slimy with Black mold/mildew that you don't even want to touch them. In fact, it is so thick that it has actually moved from the curtain to the wall. Really, How much does it cost to change out 2 shower curtains per bathroom? Do you not spray the stall down with bleach ever now and again?!? It sure didn't smell like it. And it was very Hot. No air conditioning, not even an industrial fan. Absolutely no air flow in there. Miserable to try & get dressed after your shower. There aren't showers for the tent sites, for the people that need it the most.

We went to both beaches, small & large, both a big disappointment. They have eroded away terribly.

The seaweed or grass has grown all the way to the beach. Even up on the beach in some areas. No swim area that is just sand/dirt. It was very unpleasant.

The sunsets are still just as gorgeous as ever and the lake is still great for tubing & such fun. The docking areas for the boats are very shallow & over grown. It isn't good for the motors. We camped at Indian Creek Recreation Area Louisiana in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Beautiful State of Louisiana campground with a lake for boating / fishing.

We stayed as a 2 trailer combo in adjoining sites next to the lake with walking access to the beach. Extremely popular in the summer & around holidays so phone ahead early as in on Monday morning 8am to make reservations using a credit card.

Best sites are #54, 56,57,58,59 but require leveling.

Paved pads are not always level, be sure to bring leveling pads.

No sewer hookup so bring your portable travel buddy sewer container to bring to the dumping station if your stay exceeds your grey water fill.

Beautiful clean State campground, this is not a resort. Sites have a picnic table. because this is a woodland camping area, the area immediately around the site is never level.

Staff is incredibly friendly & helpful unless you decide to not follow the rules.

There are 2 beaches, 1 is for campers only. Boat launch for using the lake & is an extremely popular spot during weekends in the summer. We camped at Indian Creek Recreation Area Louisiana in a Travel Trailer.
