Lovely setting for an old-fashioned camp. A shame that trailers block gorgeous view of the lake for those across the street. Some sites have their own sandy beach; pretty trees; and good fire rings. We weren't so lucky. Avoid sp. 57. We stayed 1 night, but paid $99.73 for 3. Original Restrooms closest to us were clean but without simple amenities found in forest camps, like a shelf over sinks. Disappointed we couldn't rent a boat; no explanation or offer to contact us when one became available. Water faucet & electric hookup were on opposite ends of sp 57. I was promised a site in A loop, but reservation system and e-mails did not match. We camped at South Arm Campground in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

Rent a boat! Bring your own wood; ours was green and didn't burn well. We also did not fill our water tank because I thought we could hook up to water. We choose electricity and filled our water tank at Mt Blue State Park the next morning.

This campground is in a remote location. When you enter the grounds the road is gravel, hilly and narrow. With that said, I loved this campground. The camp store has only the basics and fishing tackle. The site are wooded with electric and water only...and the generator shuts the electric off around 11 pm til 7 am. The people are friendly and Richardson lake is spectacular . almost very site has lake view. They rent kayaks , row boats and have a small beach area... We camped at South Arm Campground in a Motorhome.

My family and I are from Oklahoma City Area. We spent 3-4 days at the campground 2 years ago. It was the best vacation that we have ever had the people where very helpful and went out of there way to help you. I would highly recommend this campground to any one in the area or come to the state of Maine. The place is well kept and has organized activities for the kids. I would recommend that you stock up on supplies before arriving. They do have a small country store but it tends to get a little expensive if you have to keep buying things over and over again. Also the country store has homemade snacks everyday it was super esp the moon pies. We camped at South Arm Campground in a Travel Trailer.
