An older campground that stays booked up every summer. West of Bar Harbor on Rt 3 and away from the crowds. Second trip to Hadley's and nothing has changed, no improvements noticeable. 30 Amp service, 45 PSI water, and sewer hook-up. WiFi is not secure, 4 bar/4G Verizon cell service. No cable, 8 OTA TV channels. Campground interior roads are confusing. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Used 30 amp site in D field at height of summer season ( end of July- beginning of August) in 80+ degree temperature. The electricity was terrible. 15 amp max before voltage dropped below 105V and my protection kicked in. Management outdated. WiFi was unuseable. Mostly family campers, many with several sites. Everyone is friendly. If you are in a big rig be careful about the dump station. There are a lot of hanging branches at the entrance of the dump area. We opted not to attempt a dump for that reason. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We made our reservation in January for a July stay of 11 nights. We were asked what we were bringing and told them a 32 foot motorhome. We traveled for 4 days to get to Bar Harbor. Upon arrival we were escorted to a wide open field that sloped so badly it was impossible to level. The man that escorted us went to get boards but it was impossible. Another man came and tried to park us horizontally with the nose of our class C almost touching the people's beside us picnic table. The first man said we never should have been given that site for a motorhome. We were told there were no other sites but if we wanted to move every night or two they may be able to accommodate us. For eleven nights that we reserved 6 months earlier! After an hour and a half of standing in this field the other man came back and said another campground had sites available and to go there. There was no apology and no one seemed to be bothered but us. He also didn't offer to take care of voiding the charges we'd already paid for nor the $100.00 deposit we paid in January. He told us to come back the next day and take care of it. I would strongly suggest if you make reservations at this campground that you make sure they've given you a site you can fit into. Even though they ask you what you're bringing evidently they don't use that to assign sites. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Loved this place. Different loops offer different experience. Some are heavily treed and some are just around a meadow with sites backing up against trees. Lots of activities for kids, nice pool and is on the free shuttle that goes into Acadia National Park. Staff are great. Honey wagon service is available by scheduling with office. Lots of kids here but all is quiet by 10:00 PM. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Travel Trailer.

I booked our site in January and requested a pull thru site for a 36' RV with a tow vehicle. We were guided to our site by an employee. There was not enough room to leave our vehicle attached and we extended into the pull thru area with the tail or our RV in order to fit as best we could. We were unable to keep our awning out if we wanted to have a fire as it covered the small fire pit completely. If we knew we were going to have to detach our vehicle we would have liked a site with more room and just backed in. The next morning a staff person pulled up and asked who parked us here. They escort everyone to their sites so he knew it was one of his own employees and told us we may have to move, as we were blocking the pull through driveway. We requested not to have to move if the only site available next to us that was open wasn't going to be used until after we left. He did verify we could stay but how inconvenient to have us pack everything up and move when it was there error for putting us in a site in which we had to detach when we requested a pull thru so we wouldn't have to. The camper down a site from us lost power at his site and they requested he move as they couldn't fix it. His wife asked if they could run an extension from the site next to them for power since no one was in it. They said yes but couldn't provide a 30 amp cord. We borrowed them ours. The guest had asked if he would go buy one would the campground reimburse him and keep the cord for future electrical problems and they said no. They would have had to move as well do the campgrounds issue. You can not bring ANYTHING into the pool to place with. The shuffle boards could use weed killer! Showers near pool you have to pay for so bring change. Wouldn't return. Go to Bar Harbor campground up the road a couple miles. Great easy access pull thru sites, with ocean views! We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here a couple weeks before "season" hit, and we saw people start to trickle in towards the end. Very quiet during our stay. Big variance in sites all across the campground from large field area exposed to everyone and everything, to very private sites nestled in the woods. Everyone was friendly, and it's well maintained. We were there for hiking, biking, touring the island and it was the perfect location for that, without having to deal with a lot of congestion. We had to work to get level at our particular site. Our Verizon and T-Mobile phones worked fine, as well as our Verizon mifi. Dump station tight to get into with a Class A (scraping branches). We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a bus every 30-40 minute that comes to the camp. No charge and goes to the center park in Bar Harbor. You can take another bus to various points on "Desert Island". The most Eastern point in the continental US is Cadillac Mountain. Many go there for the sunrise. Atlantic Brewery, Trenton Bridge Lobster, and of course LL Bean are some of the places to see. Last time we went to the desert to see. Most Northern in the US. Was question on Jepardy.

The bathrooms across from our camper were absolutely spotless! The showers were not very close to our campsite so we did not use them. The folks were friendly and check in was easy. You can take a short walk to a beach and watch the sun set.

The campground is 15 miles to a Walmart, 10 minutes to Bar Har and 15-20 minutes to the visitor center in Acadia National Forest. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is one of the least expensive campground on the island. Keep telling yourself that and you won't be disappointed. We were in a W/E site in the "B" loop. Site was level and had more space than the other sections. We had two low voltage alarms during our stay. The bathrooms in "B" loop were clean but the stalls were so short that it was very uncomfortable to use. Can't comment on the WiFi because it doesn't reach the "B" loop. I don't think we will return to this campground. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We rented a Class A, as ours was in the shop, and traveling with 2 other RV'ers. Had EL and Water, no dump at site. No cable, The will come and dump for $6/ a day, or $12 on demand. There is a shuttle to the Village Green in Bar Harbor, where you can pick up another shuttle to other parts of the island. Shuttle bus alows pets. All are no charge. Campground is privately owned, and no discounts are available. Less costly that others on the island. Also some of the others do not have the free shuttle bus. .50 cents for showers, central dumpsters, propane refills $10/gallon. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Sooo many places to get lobsters. As this is the end of the season, many places are closing. We had Lobster for $10. Think it might have been a close out price as it was last night that place was open. Town of Bar Harbor ahs plenty of shops and eateries to go in. Dogs are welcome in many establishments, and even on the shuttles.

Overall Rating:

Our 40' rig barely fit into this site. The rear was at the trees and the mirrors were right on the edge of the road. We ended up with some small little purple black tree berries all over the back of the bus and tracked all over everywhere. These things get sticky when wet and are annoying. Also these sites are advertised as 50 amp with daily honeywagon service. In fact you still have to pay $6 per tank, not per pump out, for the service. This is half the regular price but still a bit cheesy in my opinion. The toilets are clean and the showers looked clean but are coin operated. This seems unnecessary in the off-season when there are no queues for the shower stalls. The campground is on the bus route for the island explorer free shuttle. This is a great service and I like seeing public transportation options available. The downside is that they loop in past these A block sites every 10-15 minutes. I'm sure the schedule varies through the year but it was about 8am to 8pm during our stay. It's just another minor annoyance. If you are lucky enough to get a full hookup site then they will be back off this main loop. I found the staff nice but a bit puzzled that they still just have a big schedule book for all reservations instead of a computer. This is a large campground, and there must be a better way than a big schedule book. Good Verizon service here, but unusable AT&T or T-Mobile. Campground WiFi surprisingly good except when everyone is using it in the evenings. Site easily leveled with air or hydraulics. Dump station close to the A sites if you want to tote your own instead of paying. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Very crowded at front of park, we were a little further back so there was more room. 1st turn past office to sites was tight. We had water and electric - no sewer. They offer "honey wagon" service for $12 - someone comes to your site and pumps out your tanks. They do have a dump station - it was very nasty. They charge for showers. About the only thing good about this park is that it is on the free shuttle route to Acadia National Park. Sites are crowded and extremely close. Our site was very sloped to the rear. All utilities are located at the rear so you may need extra water hose. There is no sewer although there is a dump station and they offer honey wagon service for an extra $12.00. Wi-Fi was non-existent during peak times. No cable and trees blocked satellite. There were 4 washers and 4 dryers, although one dryer was out of order. Wash loads were $3.50 a load. They had a small swimming pool but no other amenities. Tow vehicles had to be parked on the grass across a narrow road from the site. Gravel and a 3 feet width of grass between the next site. We would not return to this park. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

If you pay for 6 nights, you get the 7th free. We stayed 8 nights for $322 plus 9% tax for a total of $351 or $44/night. We chose the A section in order to get 50 amp plus water (no sewer). You can pay $5/day for honey wagon service or we opted to pay as needed at $12/dump. You do not need to be home when they come by. The reservation process was easy and check-in was efficient. A nice gentleman guided us to our site and helped us back in. We had plenty of space to park our toad beside our motorhome. CG WiFi was spotty. Verizon cell and Verizon data worked well. We were able to obtain DirecTV satellite signal. The campground really quiets down at night. Recycling available for aluminum cans and glass bottles. Pool was warm and busy with kids. This is a very large property with RV sites, tents, cabins, playgrounds and big, open, grassy play areas. There's something for everyone. It's a busy place. There is a FREE bus service which is super convenient and easy to use. Acadia and Bar Harbor are just a quick ride away. One thing about Section A is that the buses go by your site twice per half hour but they are propane powered and not too noisy or polluting. We didn't mind it but I can imagine some people might not be too thrilled. The campground was willing to receive shipments for us and even delivered them to our site. Staff and neighbors were very friendly and everyone had great tourist advice for us. The church service is in an open field. Just bring a chair or towel to sit on. We met some great folks there. We enjoyed our stay here and would love to stay again one day. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

You won't regret getting up for sunrise on top of Cadillac Mountain. NPS closes the road once the parking lot fills up so go early. Suggest leaving the CG 1 hour and 45 minutes prior to sunrise to be sure you get in. We had a nice meal at Stewman's on the water in Bar Harbor. Cycle or walk the Carriage Roads. Enjoy popovers at Jordan Pond. Received excellent care from Acadia Veterinary Hospital on a same day emergency visit.

Best customer service experience we've ever had at a campground. The people at the desk were friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable. They had a nice gent in a golf cart show us our space and help us back in. We liked the wooded feel of the B section. Water and electric worked well. WiFi was limited as one expects, but Verizon signal was good. Whenever there was a problem, the campground was so well staffed, and equipped with walkie-talkies, that someone was on top of it within a few minutes. (eg. repairing a problem with the shower). The staff appeared to have a camaraderie and team spirit that reminded me of summer camp. When my dad who was camping in the space next to ours fell ill and had to be hospitalized for days beyond our reservation, the staff found an extra space, and even helped move his camper. When our family got ready to head out with Dad's pop-up camper, the gentlemen helped show me how to break it down and hook it up to the hitch, since I'd never done it before. The kindness we experienced at Hadley's Point was a bright spot in our family's difficult week. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.
