We rented a Class A, as ours was in the shop, and traveling with 2 other RV'ers. Had EL and Water, no dump at site. No cable, The will come and dump for $6/ a day, or $12 on demand. There is a shuttle to the Village Green in Bar Harbor, where you can pick up another shuttle to other parts of the island. Shuttle bus alows pets. All are no charge. Campground is privately owned, and no discounts are available. Less costly that others on the island. Also some of the others do not have the free shuttle bus. .50 cents for showers, central dumpsters, propane refills $10/gallon. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Sooo many places to get lobsters. As this is the end of the season, many places are closing. We had Lobster for $10. Think it might have been a close out price as it was last night that place was open. Town of Bar Harbor ahs plenty of shops and eateries to go in. Dogs are welcome in many establishments, and even on the shuttles.

This is one of the least expensive campground on the island. Keep telling yourself that and you won't be disappointed. We were in a W/E site in the "B" loop. Site was level and had more space than the other sections. We had two low voltage alarms during our stay. The bathrooms in "B" loop were clean but the stalls were so short that it was very uncomfortable to use. Can't comment on the WiFi because it doesn't reach the "B" loop. I don't think we will return to this campground. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Our 40' rig barely fit into this site. The rear was at the trees and the mirrors were right on the edge of the road. We ended up with some small little purple black tree berries all over the back of the bus and tracked all over everywhere. These things get sticky when wet and are annoying. Also these sites are advertised as 50 amp with daily honeywagon service. In fact you still have to pay $6 per tank, not per pump out, for the service. This is half the regular price but still a bit cheesy in my opinion. The toilets are clean and the showers looked clean but are coin operated. This seems unnecessary in the off-season when there are no queues for the shower stalls. The campground is on the bus route for the island explorer free shuttle. This is a great service and I like seeing public transportation options available. The downside is that they loop in past these A block sites every 10-15 minutes. I'm sure the schedule varies through the year but it was about 8am to 8pm during our stay. It's just another minor annoyance. If you are lucky enough to get a full hookup site then they will be back off this main loop. I found the staff nice but a bit puzzled that they still just have a big schedule book for all reservations instead of a computer. This is a large campground, and there must be a better way than a big schedule book. Good Verizon service here, but unusable AT&T or T-Mobile. Campground WiFi surprisingly good except when everyone is using it in the evenings. Site easily leveled with air or hydraulics. Dump station close to the A sites if you want to tote your own instead of paying. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

About the only thing good about this park is that it is on the free shuttle route to Acadia National Park. Sites are crowded and extremely close. Our site was very sloped to the rear. All utilities are located at the rear so you may need extra water hose. There is no sewer although there is a dump station and they offer honey wagon service for an extra $12.00. Wi-Fi was non-existent during peak times. No cable and trees blocked satellite. There were 4 washers and 4 dryers, although one dryer was out of order. Wash loads were $3.50 a load. They had a small swimming pool but no other amenities. Tow vehicles had to be parked on the grass across a narrow road from the site. Gravel and a 3 feet width of grass between the next site. We would not return to this park. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Very crowded at front of park, we were a little further back so there was more room. 1st turn past office to sites was tight. We had water and electric - no sewer. They offer "honey wagon" service for $12 - someone comes to your site and pumps out your tanks. They do have a dump station - it was very nasty. They charge for showers. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

If you pay for 6 nights, you get the 7th free. We stayed 8 nights for $322 plus 9% tax for a total of $351 or $44/night. We chose the A section in order to get 50 amp plus water (no sewer). You can pay $5/day for honey wagon service or we opted to pay as needed at $12/dump. You do not need to be home when they come by. The reservation process was easy and check-in was efficient. A nice gentleman guided us to our site and helped us back in. We had plenty of space to park our toad beside our motorhome. CG WiFi was spotty. Verizon cell and Verizon data worked well. We were able to obtain DirecTV satellite signal. The campground really quiets down at night. Recycling available for aluminum cans and glass bottles. Pool was warm and busy with kids. This is a very large property with RV sites, tents, cabins, playgrounds and big, open, grassy play areas. There's something for everyone. It's a busy place. There is a FREE bus service which is super convenient and easy to use. Acadia and Bar Harbor are just a quick ride away. One thing about Section A is that the buses go by your site twice per half hour but they are propane powered and not too noisy or polluting. We didn't mind it but I can imagine some people might not be too thrilled. The campground was willing to receive shipments for us and even delivered them to our site. Staff and neighbors were very friendly and everyone had great tourist advice for us. The church service is in an open field. Just bring a chair or towel to sit on. We met some great folks there. We enjoyed our stay here and would love to stay again one day. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You won't regret getting up for sunrise on top of Cadillac Mountain. NPS closes the road once the parking lot fills up so go early. Suggest leaving the CG 1 hour and 45 minutes prior to sunrise to be sure you get in. We had a nice meal at Stewman's on the water in Bar Harbor. Cycle or walk the Carriage Roads. Enjoy popovers at Jordan Pond. Received excellent care from Acadia Veterinary Hospital on a same day emergency visit.

Best customer service experience we've ever had at a campground. The people at the desk were friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable. They had a nice gent in a golf cart show us our space and help us back in. We liked the wooded feel of the B section. Water and electric worked well. WiFi was limited as one expects, but Verizon signal was good. Whenever there was a problem, the campground was so well staffed, and equipped with walkie-talkies, that someone was on top of it within a few minutes. (eg. repairing a problem with the shower). The staff appeared to have a camaraderie and team spirit that reminded me of summer camp. When my dad who was camping in the space next to ours fell ill and had to be hospitalized for days beyond our reservation, the staff found an extra space, and even helped move his camper. When our family got ready to head out with Dad's pop-up camper, the gentlemen helped show me how to break it down and hook it up to the hitch, since I'd never done it before. The kindness we experienced at Hadley's Point was a bright spot in our family's difficult week. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Park was very busy with uneven grass sites and close together. I think the price was reflecting the short camping season in Maine. Family oriented , but narrow interior road to get to rear sites. That said, we would stay there again. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Across from the RV park was a place you could order fresh lobster and have it delivered to your site. It was hot and delicious, with corn and one other item for about $17.00. Mussels also. Town of Bar Harbor is very small and crowded .

We were assigned a back in site behind the pool house at our request since it was near the bathrooms and shower house. Site was grass, short, but very wide which suited us just fine. Sites across the street from us were full of big RVs and some had to park tow vehicle across the street because there was no room for it on the site. Office staff was friendly. Ice was sold in the office along with firewood (will deliver a fire ring to your site) and wifi was available though we did not use it and it seemed people came to the laundry to use it. Laundry was clean but very expensive at $3.50 for wash and $.25 for 10 minutes of drying time. There is no sewer at sites but campground does have a dump station and a pump out service. Showers are pay showers even in the cabins and cost $.50 for 7 minutes so bring quarters if you need to use the campground showers. It is about a 4 mile drive to Acadia. We would stop here again. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Good restaurants nearby. Try C-Rays for a lobster dinner but dining is outside at picnic tables. Maine-ly Meat has a great breakfast with wild Maine blueberry pancakes and lobster omelette. Wal-Mart located about 10 miles away in Elsworth. Stay away from super crowded Bar Harbor unless you love to shop as it was way too crowded for us.

We camp here for a week while we visited Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. There is a free shuttle bus service that will take you from the campground to most points in the area (limited schedule after Sept 1st). In the area for big rigs the sites are close together. We had 50 amp electric and water. Electricity worked fine while water pressure was low but adequate. The park will pump out your black/grey water tanks for $12. The site was level. WiFi in the park worked OK during our time there. AT&T cell service was spotty. There is a small pool in the park and a small beach about 1/2 mile from the campground. Although we do not have kids there was a play area in the park. We were close to trees but able to get our satellite dish to connect to 2 of 3 DirecTV satellites. Got a couple of OTA stations. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Thurston's Lobster Shop in Bernard is the recommended place to eat lobster. Cadillac Mountain has great views of Mount Desert Island. Lakes and ponds are good places to canoe/kayak. Carriage roads in Acadia National Park are good for biking or hiking.

*Go to the end of the road and enjoy the rocky water area.

*Sign up for the bike ride and Acadia info w the ranger. It was really nice though be prepared for some long hills. Spend lots of time seeing all of Acadia.

*Eat lobster from across the street at Rose .... they will cook them for you and include corn and butter for two. We recommend the 1 1/2 lb lobsters.

*See SW Harbor, Azalea Garden, beach w the smooth stones.

This campground is located perhaps 3 miles from the entrance to Acadia National Park. The park runs a bus service by all the campgrounds and to and from the park, Bar Harbor, etc. which is very convenient. Driving through Bar Harbor is pretty tight in a big RV. This campground has pay showers (a pet peeve of mine). People here are very helpful.

There are 5 loops and they can help you figure out what you like. Loop D had some more private sites near trees but probably wouldn't accommodate very large RVs. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

The staff was extremely helpful and the spaces were level. Even though we didn't have a pull through site, we had plenty of room to drop our trailer and park our RV in the same site. We were able to walk to the beach (more of a boat launch) but the walk back is all up hill. You can get a lobster dinner for 2 delivered from a place right across the street. Bar Harbor is a bit commercial but the island itself is absolutely amazing!!! If you go to the bottom tip of the island you will find Thurstan's Lobster Pound and it is decently priced and you can sit on the water's edge and enjoy the beautiful scenery along with your meal. The ride through Acadia National Park is gorgeous. We will be making this trip again.

Our back-in, grass site was nice and level. It's a bit tight, but they help you get backed in so it wasn't an issue. They have a honey wagon service that you can schedule to come by and dump your black and gray tanks. Our boys took full advantage of the pool.

Would have been an excellent deal, for where we were, if we had full hookups. Verizon service worked well, but Sprint did not. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

We were with a group of 3 others and reserved last year and got one of the few 50 amp sites. (There are only sixteen 50 amp sites.) But, most RV Parks in this area don't have many 50 amp sites. Our site was about 45" deep and wide enough to park the car beside the motorhome. The electricity was excellent and did not drop below 118 volts with all 3 A/C units on and the hot water heater running, when we initially set up. There was good water pressure and water flow.

The owner and the workers were all very friendly. The current owner has had the park for 6 years and made a number of improvements. They have 16 new cabins with heat and air, a small bathroom and a covered porch. The swimming pool is well maintained. The free, Island Express, a bus, runs through the park every 30 minutes. You can go to the National Park visitor center and transfer to other buses or go to downtown Bar Harbor. There was very good Verizon 4G service, 14 Mbps. They also have free WiFi.

CONS: I docked the park due to the lack of sewers at the 50 amp sites, (A2-A17), $12 for "honey wagon" service if needed, the lack of cable tv and the fact that most sites are not satellite friendly. We were gone most of each day, but I do like to be able to view some news and financial channels at breakfast. You can get 2 or 3 stations from Bangor, Maine, 35 air miles away, at some of the sites. Potential, satellite friendly sites would be A1, A28-30 and A25-26, Also A2-9, if the dome was at the very front of the RV.

OVERALL: I would not hesitate to return to this campground and I would recommend it to others. They do have 15, 30 amp sites with sewer and 7 of those are pull thru sites. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Food is expensive at night, as in $14 for a hamburger, if the restaurant you choose offers sandwiches at night. Downtown, you can pay $14 for a burger at lunch.

Our best dining was at The Chart Room on Hwy 3, about 2 miles north of downtown Bar Harbor for Lunch. Meals were available for under $10 and tables were available with a view of the harbor. Their fries were fresh cut and not frozen. Once you cross over to the island, there are no places like McDonald's or Burger King.
