Overall Rating:

The roads into the park are easy to navigate, the roads in the park are good but have a few pot holes so go slow. Check in was fast and friendly. The camp is well maintained and very quiet. It sits on the Androscoggin River and they offer tubing and kayaking tours. There are trails in the park for walking and a suspension bridge that will take you over the river to explore an island. We were in Site 20, a level gravel site with full hook ups and no issues with any of them. The sites are buddy sites, but they are wide and angle so that you are not on top of each other. There is a picnic table and a fire ring. Did not use laundry or bathrooms but both are available. We stayed July 19-26, 2018 and paid $46 a night with no discount. They offer Passport America on weeknights but you need to pay in cash and we weren't prepared to do that. We camped at Outdoor Adventure & Campground in a Motorhome.

Spent 1 night here and had no complaints. There weren't many other campers there, so when we sat out at night around a campfire we didn't see anyone else. Very nice and relaxing. The pull thru sight was level and the hook-ups were fine. A little pricey I thought because the tax brought it up $3.75 to $38.75, but a nice campground that I could recommend without reservations. We camped at Outdoor Adventure & Campground in a Motorhome.

This is the second time that we stayed here. The first time was about 7 years ago. It is a good location to stay while traveling through the area. There is a bike/ped path right by the campground but it is only about 1 1/2 miles long. Good for a stroll, but too short for a bike ride. The sites are side by side but when we were here it was the off season and they were only using every other one so it wasn't an issue. We camped at Outdoor Adventure & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We spent 3.5 months at this park as Workampers earlier this year; nightly rate reflects Passport America. The 25 RV sites are a mix of open/partial/full shade, on gravel or grass, most pull-thru with long-term sites back-in. All have water & electric (20/30A or 50A), and most have sewer. Dump station available. Roads within area are gravel, and accessible for big rigs. The 12 tent sites are in separate forested area. All sites have campfire ring & picnic table. There is also a group site for large gatherings. There is a bathhouse with two showers on each side. It was refurbished this year with new flooring, paint & lighting. Staff keeps the bathrooms very clean. Owners are very friendly and try to accommodate guest requests. Campground is part of a facility that also features river trip outfitter and gem sluice. Easy to arrange for canoes/kayaks/tubes to float down Androscoggin River, and then just walk back to your campsite. We camped at Outdoor Adventure & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Wonderful metal suspension bridge (built by owner) which goes over to an island. You can also rent canoes and 'mine' for gems. Great hiking into various falls in Grafton Notch State Park, 10 miles north.

This is a small campground that also serves as canoe rental, fishing, and gem digging site. The area was moderately quiet at night, but during the day the facility became very busy! The sites are nice and grassy but extremely close together. The benefit of sites being close together, camping here with family, the campers could be facing door to door. small sites, our awnings where almost touching. Staff is very friendly. A nice additional benefit is Burma Bridge over the river to quiet island. We camped at Outdoor Adventure & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Rate reflects a monthly stay. This park is primarily a "Kayak and Canoe rental" outfit. We camped here for the river access, but couldn't use it due to the fast moving water. The owners were nice enough people, but charge outrageous prices, even for people staying at the park: $5 for a fax, $45 per person to shuttle your boat up river a few miles, $50 to dig through a bucket for gems. The park is small, but had two sets of park hosts who were constantly on a tractor or mower in order to make their hours. (Whether the grass needed mowing or not.) They offer Wi-Fi, but have no repeaters, so unless you're close to the office, you're out of luck. Sites and roads are dirt, bathrooms are small and utilitarian, but clean. (Showers were smaller than the one in our truck camper.) Traffic noise is an issue, shopping and restaurants are within walking distance. Mosquitoes were bad this time of year. We camped at Outdoor Adventure & Campground in a Truck Camper.

Staff is very friendly. They offer great kayak and canoe trips on the river. The briefing is very helpful and seems like helpful advise instead of a lecture. The campground itself is on HWY 2, so road noise is something that is just there. Good Wi-Fi, level sites, rather plain. Nice location. Easy access to river. Good laundry. This is one of the worst places we have ever camped. They say it is on the river, but what they should say is that it is on Hwy 2 and so close you cannot escape the noise all day and most of the night. There is some kind of quarry across the road and the big trucks go constantly. The bathrooms are old and outdated. You can only get WiFi in the office. The camper in the next site was so close you could not walk between our slides. We camped at Outdoor Adventure & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Small campground operated by business catering to canoes and kayak trips. Located along river. Restrooms and shower facilities are fair, but staff does try to keep them clean. Couldn't get Wi-Fi signal. Sites are small. Staff friendly and helpful. We camped at Outdoor Adventure & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We have visited this campground four times in the past five years and love every minute of our stay. The owners make the guests feel like family and that is really comforting after a long trip. The office staff and the drivers, boat staff, and various instructors available for the different activities are extremely knowledgeable about their duties. The facilities were always well kept and the gardens were really beautiful. I have and will again highly recommend this location for either groups, or family visits and my wife and I will return as often as is possible. We camped at Outdoor Adventure & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

It was a nice park on the Androscoggin river. The sites were a little close together for our taste, but it was early season so we were mostly alone anyway. The owners were very nice and helpful. There is much to do right nearby such as fishing, rafting, (they offer shuttles and canoe/kayak rentals on site), mineral sleuthing (on site), a walking trail into the village, a water park across the street, etc.. A fun place and we will go back soon. We camped at Outdoor Adventure & Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The sites are very close together and we had some difficulty fitting our 35 foot motorhome into a 35 foot site; we could not connect the sewer. Interior roads are fair and narrow. Office staff was pleasant and efficient. The campground is on the river and its primary business is guiding, canoeing, kayaking and tubing. There is a walking path to town, 1 1/2 miles away. Restaurants close by. Good location. WiFi at site. We would definitely come here again. We camped at Outdoor Adventure & Campground in a Motorhome.

This park is conveniently located near town. We enjoyed the walking paths right next to the park. On site you can rent bicycles, kayaks, etc. Our site was very tight and the interior roads were poorly maintained. We camped at Outdoor Adventure & Campground in a Motorhome.
