Spacious, level, gravel sites. Paved roads, loooong pull thrus available. We stayed in the newer, open area but they do have shaded sites too. Close to Boothbay. Could stay there a while. Friendly/helpful staff maintaining park very well. We camped at Shore Hills Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Like others confirm, this CG has a nice old time feel to it. Mostly because it is. We would stay here again, partly because it was nice and convenient and partly because there aren't many choices near Boothbay. We couldn't get our 43-foot MH level on site 124 but the owners moved us to 120 which was excellent and even had a new concrete patio. We did see several back in sites that were not level and occupants had to use wood or pads to level. The sites are fairly close together but have trashcans at each end. Water, electric and sewer were just fine. You can only pay by check or cash and when you call, you will be told to mail a deposit check of $50. We were told our reservation will be held until the check arrives. Once they received the check, they emailed us a confirmation. There is $10 deposit for gate card. Bath houses are old but clean. Didn't use but saw there was a fee for shower. Cable was excellent, the wifi was good and our AT&T service was too. A staff member continuously rides through the campground on a golf cart. Got the impression he is a "monitor" of activity, open spaces and any potential rule breakers. We did get a note on our MH for exceeding the 10 MPH speed limit one day, but that kind of added to the charm. The "upper sites" are pretty wide open from trees for good satellite reception, plenty long, but the sites closest to the road definitely have noise as it is the only direct route in and out of Boothbay. We camped at Shore Hills Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

"Shannon's Unshelled" is terrific little Lobster Roll shack adjacent the public parking lot in Boothbay. Shannon & her Mom make a roll that is as good or better than Red's in Wiscasset, which you will see on your way to Boothbay, along with their typical hour long wait line. Also, the Wicked Woopie Pie store is a unique Maine treat. Try the oatmeal ones! Pemaquid Point Lighthouse is about 45 minutes north and one of the very few you can actually go in and climb to the steps to the top.

We really enjoy staying here. It's quiet, the staff is friendly and helpful. The restrooms and showers are clean. No WiFi but our cell phone reception was good. This was our second visit here and we plan to visit again next year. We stayed in our motorhome. We camped at Shore Hills Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Shore Hills is a very nice campground with good big rig access. This is the second time we have stayed in the Booth Bay area and we found this campground well situated for points east of Wiscasset. If you go west on a regular basis you can get caught up in traffic going into Wiscasset. We stayed in the section closer to the road but found very little noise from the highway at night. There are a number of sites with a raised deck and picnic table. We parked a little too close to the deck as I thought it would be convenient to step out right onto the deck. What I did not allow for was the slide, which ended up taking close to a third of the deck space. The utilities are well located and there is a garbage bin on each site. Our site was a pull through with plenty of room for a tow. Did not really use the wifi as we use an ATT hot spot which worked well. This area is satellite friendly but we ended up using the cable which is very good. Had an initial problem with the cable connection as it was missing the male end. A visit to the office immediately rectified the problem. We camped at Shore Hills Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

As mentioned this campground is well suited for visits east of Wiscasset. Besides Booth Bay try Owl's Head where there is a great Classic Car and Aeronautical Museum and a nice restaurant called the Pearl for lunch in Rockland. There is also Camden which is well worth the hour's drive. Damariscotta is a nice town for lunch on your way to or back from Pemaquid Point Lighthouse.

Overall Rating:

Price goes with the territory. As with many businesses, this is also cash or check only. Sites at the top accommodate large rigs. the reminder are along a road down the hill to the shore where there are some premium waterfront sites. A dedicated tent area is close to the water. There are 2 coin-op washer dryer buildings, but cold water only. The sites are well spaced and easy to access. A couple are set up for small groups. All services worked well and the cable TV was better than most. Most appeared to need only minimal leveling. Each had a trash can and the trash was picked up daily. You will need a gate card to come and go ($10 refundable deposit). We camped at Shore Hills Campground and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The village at Boothbay Harbor is why most come here. The campground offers a shuttle for those who don't want to drive and find parking. A railroad village is just down the road from the campground, historic displays and a narrow gauge ride. Steam whistles can be heard in the campground during the day.

Stayed two nights. Part of this campground is gorgeous. Wooded sites with decent separation between sites and some vegetation between the sites. Unfortunately, we weren't in that part. We had a full hookup pull through. That section is near the road with no trees or vegetation. The utilities were well placed and worked well except thd sewer connection wasn't threaded. I never saw so many cable channels and they all came in clear. The wifi was hit and miss. We were at the end near the road do we did have some road noise. I would stay again, but I would consider 30 amp so I could be in thd pretty section. We camped at Shore Hills Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a nice gated campground with gravel roads and pads. There are 2 sections: a lower section with many trees, and an upper section with wide open pull-through and back-in sites around a circle. We first had PT 119 with a patio, table, and fire pit. We then moved to back-in 146 which might be the best site in the campground. It has a very large grassy area, a table, and fire pit. There are individual trash cans at each site, and workers pick up the trash several times a day. We got good satellite reception, and the wifi and other utilities worked well. We will definitely stay in this campground in the future. We camped at Shore Hills Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground, we were in the open section. our pull through was the longest I've ever seen! Lots of room, and all connections well laid out. Each site has a raised composite wood deck which is very nice. The gravel roads can get a little dusty. Location is the thing here, just 8 minutes to Booth Bay; if you love lobster this is one place to go. Only reason I didn't give a 9 was they don't take Visa so make sure you have cash. And I like to get confirmation emails on bookings but they don't do that; just the old fashioned way. The staff are very friendly as well. I would definitely stay here again. Shore Hills took us in after we left an unacceptable campground in the area. They put us into a great campsite and checked on us every couple of days to make sure we were happy. The only thing preventing us from giving them a 10 is that Why 27 was right behind us. It wasn't too bad, though. We quickly got used to it. This is the second time I have stayed at the park which is the best one in the area. No deposit was needed at reservation but later they had me mail a nights deposit - they only take cash or check. The park is very close to Boothbay. I was lucky to get a 3 night for 2 night special - ask about when you make a reservation. The interior roads are wide grave and each size are spacious with level gravel pads with grass between sites. The pull through sites are very long able to easily handle my 45 ft RV and tow. There is a picnic table, fire ring and enclosed trash can at each size. Most of the sites are very open so we had no trouble accessing satellite. The park is clean and well maintained. The wifi is excellent ad I could stream Netflicks. There is a security gate and karaoke and a band on weekends. We camped at Shore Hills Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Shore Hills Campground had about 150 sites, all of which are dirt/gravel. Most of the roads are the same so if it rains, some parts can get pretty muddy. I think that we were in a newer loop, as the sites were a little bigger, and some had wood deck patios next to the parking pads. They have about 20 pull through sites in the loop that are advertised as "No rig too big", and they are about 100' long. We had a back in site with patio and fire pit. There is also a picnic table on the deck. Not all sites are full hook up though, some closer to the water are W&E only. We paid $53 a night for our site, and even though we stayed for a week, there was no break on the daily fee. One notable issue though, they do not accept any electronic payments. Cash or check only. The utilities at the sites worked well and were placed conveniently. The restroom facilities though older were clean. However they are NOT handicapped accessible. Raised entry's at the doors and narrow doors would be difficult to navigate. Their showers are also pay showers, like .50 for three minutes. They offered WiFi, but our Verizon air card worked OK. They did have a nice big dog yard for off leash dogs. There is a lake at the campground, but the older wooded sites are on quite an incline and may be difficult to navigate if you have any mobility issues. The nice part about this campground is that we were only a few miles from Boothbay proper and we made several trips in to various shops, stores, and restaurants. I would stay at this campground again. We camped at Shore Hills Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Camped in site 114 in the open field. It was a pull through site within 1.5 in of being level side to side. It had full hookups including cable and wifi. Wifi was easy to connect and reasonably fast. Lots of cable channels inclung all major networks.

Sit had an above ground patio with picnic table. Could walk right out of trailer to patio.

Has laundromat and 2$ shuttle to downtown. Grocery shopping and drugstore within 5 miles. A little farther to harbor. They are cash only so bring lots. Pet friendly. We camped at Shore Hills Campground and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Boothbay, Maine - Shore Hills Campground and RV Park - cost for just water and electricity $53. $50 deposit to hold your site and total of 149 sites Reservations recommended in the summer.

This campground was recommended by a number of campers so we thought we would try it for one night. There are full hookups sites with 50 amp/ w & e sites on the waterfront/ tent sites/ 30 amp sites/ cable in some sites/cabin rental sites/ 131 in total. The campground overlooks the water in the Boothbay area. We had a w & e site in the Riverside area which was very nice overlooking the bay. We were here on a Tuesday night in late September so reservations not needed. Bathhouse was very clean with showers ($). Pets are allowed. Deposits are non-refundable. They have a shuttle bus to Boothbay Harbor. There is a camp store which has fire wood, ice, propane, supplies and gifts. Sites are close together depending on the loop you are in. Nice campground with easy checkin and if you want to tour the Boothbay area of Maine with its restaurants and island ferries it is a very convenient stopover. We camped at Shore Hills Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.
