We stayed here on short notice, and we were able to get a small site not far from the main office. Nice little site which fit our 15' camper quite well. There was a lot foot traffic past the site, but it wasn't really a problem. I'd say the only drawback to the campground was the golf cart traffic. They were pretty noisy, and there were a lot of them buzzing around all day.
All in all, Woodland Acres is a nice family campground with lots for the kids to do.
Great facilities and the best camp store I've seen. - 2beagles
May 2015 - $30.00
This was our first trip to Acres of Wildlife. The above stated rate is the published rate. We stayed for $0 because we participated in the "free cleanup weekend". Basically, they offer you a free weekend in return for some raking and cleanup activities throughout the campground. It turned out to be about 3-4 hours worth of work, the rest was camping/fun time.
The park was nice, and is definitely family oriented. Lots of games/activities for kids (and adults). Sites are decent, but probably look better once more foliage fills in the trees. This place has the very best camp store I have ever seen, a must see! The road is very dry and dusty, and with the constant truck/golf cart traffic it got things pretty dirty. All in all we had a good time. We are definitely planning a return trip later this Summer. - BigNuge
Sep 2014 - $40.00
Another great stay at Acres of Wildlife! This campground keeps making some wonderful improvements. Year after year they add sites, clear trees, and are constantly making the sites better and better. This year they also added some tree houses for campers to rent. So if you do not have a camper you can still find a way to have a great time at Acres. We have been coming here for many years and it always great to go back. This weekend was no different. They did a great job with their Halloween weekend by having a Haunted House and such great campers to make the campground something spectacular. There is no doubt that we will return again. - clw_man
Aug 2016 - $60.00
This is a basic, rustic campground. We did not use the bathrooms so we cannot comment. The hookups at the site were fine and they included cable. There is no wifi at this campground. The site was good size but not real level. We left the trailer forward as the front was more level than the back so it worked ok. The biggest draw for this campground is the beach and the lake. It was a nice beach with plenty of sand and real nice clear water. It was very enjoyable the 2 days we used the beach. Will return for the beach along. The seasonal campers seemed friendly but some of the seasonal sites are very cluttered. - Happy Camper X2
Jul 2009 - $45.00
If clean, well-maintained bathrooms are important to you, then drive on by this campground. The bathrooms were not only filthy dirty – all week! – but the floors were literally rotting away. On the plus side, our site was spacious, level and nicely wooded. You have a healthy set of trees dividing you from your neighbors. The lakefront beach was nice and we really enjoyed lake swimming. Unfortunately, the pluses end there. The beach is located across the street from the campground. The area around the sewer hook up smelled very bad and had lots and lots of flies hanging around. There are several seasonal sites here that are unsightly and unkempt. Just a few sights down from us, the unit was rotting away and the deck had rotted and fell to the ground. We would NOT stay here again. Note: Do not confuse this campground with “Family AND Friends Campground” about six miles down the road. - Harpers on the Road
Jul 2008 - $52.00
Nice campground, very nice staff. Campground has a lot of seasonals. Large wooded sites. The private beach on the lake is very nice. The boys had a great time in the water. - Salem Sullivans
Aug 2017 - $44.00
Rented a pull-thru and two tent sites for our family kayaking weekend; all sites were spacious, private, and shaded. VERY BUGGY!! They really need to spray for mosquitoes! Sites were all sand, no grass at all. No cable, WIFI didn't work, and poor cell phone signal. Bathrooms were clean, but dated and there is no bench in the shower area to put your belongings on. I was quite surprised by the extra fees at this place - $3 per night for your dog, so $44 became $47/night. And then I got socked with a $3.50 reservation fee PER SITE, so since I booked three sites, I paid an extra $11 to give them my business! For those reasons we will find a different place to stay next year. Kayak rental/shuttle service was very convenient, but if you arrive back after 5PM, they will charge you for an extra day. - Bonnie66
Jul 2017 - $42.00
Friends who lived in this area checked out several campgrounds and recommended this one to us. Since we were visiting our friends, we did not spend a lot of time at the campground. However the pool looked very inviting, the campground was well taken care of, and there were many canoes available to rent right on site. We had plenty of room on our site, and trees between sites created a sense of privacy. Drawbacks were the sandy site surface, and the abundance of hungry mosquitoes. The area had seen a lot of rain, so that may be a big factor with the mosquito issue. - HelenEllen
Jul 2015 - $40.00
We loved staying at Woodland Acres! We camped on the July 4th weekend, and the place was very quiet, although it wasn't even half full. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the facilities were spotless. I don't remember seeing a piece of trash anywhere the entire weekend. The restrooms and showers were cleaned multiple times a day.
The only thing that was not great was that the campground is very sandy, and even though we cleaned our feet before stepping on the mat, there was sand all through the camper. Not a big deal, just needed extra effort to keep the rig clean.
We'll definitely be back next year. - 2beagles

Beautiful campground with large, private sites. Clean and nice. Staff went above and beyond to accomodate us artiving late in the evening. Highly recommended. - Laurel714
Aug 2016 - $35.00
Originally reserved for 5 nights, but we loved it so much we made it a week! The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. The RV sites all backed up to a large grassy field. Full hookups at all sites. Each site was spacious enough not to be crammed in. Many trees around sites. - AlreadyGone
Jul 2016 - $18.00
Rate based on 2 month stay. My wife and I have been RVing all over the country for the last year and this is, by far, the friendliest campground we've stayed at. It is a little gem and a great little campground with tent sites as well as RV spaces. The park is always kept immaculately clean. The spaces are big, level and quite private. The common grounds are always well maintained and manicured. The restroom and showers are very clean and neat. It has a small store in the office, a laundry facility, a game room for kids and plenty of outdoor games that you can use at any time. There is also a very large open area (very well maintained) to run and play in. They are right on the Saco River and there is access to the river from the park. Additionally, they will run you up the river if you would like to go canoeing or tubing, and they have the canoes and tubes to rent right on site for a reasonable fee. Water and WIFI are really good and over the air TV is available there.
The best part though are the owners. They are just great. I can't say enough nice things about them. They help with your setup, keep your space mowed (did I mention the RV spaces are all grass, not gravel), and bend over backwards to help everyone staying there. They truly make it feel like a 'family' campground. They definitely made us feel very welcome.
I would highly recommend this park for anyone wanting to stay a day, week, month or longer. - ssmmerhalski
Jul 2017 - $40.00
Clean campground. Many campsites placed on a small, wooded footprint. Campsites somewhat level. Very narrow interior gravel roads somewhat difficult to navigate. Park extremely hilly so roads are either up or down and very twisty, i.e., no level roads. Not big rig friendly. Price above was for W&E. Dump available in campground. WiFi throughout park. Few satellite-friendly sites, but OTA channels good and cable is available at some sites. Power was steady. Security provided with key card entry. Friendly, helpful, on-site, owner/managers. There just isn't much they can do to deal with the hilly landscape. - SunStar203
Jun 2013 - $49.00
This park is nice; rustic yes, but with a nice pool. We only stayed one night, and it wouldn't be worth it to come back unless we were going to stay for a while. The reviewers who say the interior roads are narrow and rough are not kidding. We have a 36 ft 5th wheel with a bike rack. I gave my length as 40 ft. the roads are so hilly, with "sharp" hills that we dragged the bike rack 3 times, and that was after adjusting the air in the hitch as much as we could. We scraped branches on BOTH sides. The people were very nice, both AT&T and Verizon cell worked, the Wi-fi was on and off. I would recommend this place for smaller rigs, but not for big rigs. - Soos
Jul 2012 - $36.00
If you are looking for an "RV Resort" look elsewhere. If you are looking for a rustic campground in the woods, read on. The interior roads are steep, unpaved, tight, and very rough. The trees are trimmed back enough to permit big rigs access with no roof damage. And some sites look like they will accommodate big rigs without too much hassle. Other sites however, will make entry and exit a serious challenge. On the plus side, the Wi-Fi works well and the cable TV is terrific. The trees make for good privacy on most sites. I don't think satellite dishes will work well with all of the trees. There are a fair number of seasonal campers here, but that's really not an issue. We stayed here during the week and the nights were quiet. - DrLewie
Sep 2016 - $57.00
This campground has both pros and cons. It is a sandy/dirt place with tons of trees which makes backing in just about any size of RV difficult. Trees are not trimmed and the couple of big RVs that we saw enter our campground loop scraped trees on both the sides and top of their unit. There are only a couple of sites that would accommodate big rigs and we saw people have a great deal of difficulty backing in with their small RVs due to the location of the trees. The bathhouse is old but clean. Water pressure is very high so bring a pressure regulator or risk damage to your RV water system. Verizon cell and hot spot worked fine. Swimming beach was lovely which seemed to be the draw for most people. About half of the campers while we were here were in tents. Campground is not located in the main state park area. The campground does not sell ice or firewood which is odd considering the amount of tent campers. The roads are atrocious coming into the camping sites. This campground is grossly overpriced at $57 per night including reservation and out of state fees. Some of that money should be used to fix the roads. We would not stay here again. - roadking
Apr 2016 - $50.00
Wow! It has been awhile since somebody has taken the trouble to review this one. Big CG. Very early season stay. Very few in the park. Only the W/E loop open. Roomy sites, able to easily accommodate larger rigs than they are rated for. That is the good news.
Now for the bad news. CG roads need some serious repaving. There should be no shortage of funds to pay for the road maintenance because the camping rate of $50, out of state camper, is beyond mind boggling. What are the people who set these prices, thinking? - Veebyes
Jun 2008 - $30.00
This is a great family park located on Sebago Lake with most camping a short walk to the lake. Lots of activities around lake including bicycling, beach activities, and especially boating. Not a lot of privacy and very noisy with children of all ages running around having fun. As with most New England State parks...a distant cousin as compared to those in the south or western part of USA. Expensive for what you get at $30 (w/e) up to June 30, and $38 July and August. One of only two campgrounds in Maine with water and electric. Recommend it for young families. - David R
Aug 2004 - $28.00
The campground itself was very pleasant and the staff was friendly, but the buildings looked a little worn around the edges. It was August and this campground in the middle of one of the most popular recreational areas was virtually empty. A large number of sites have no hookups. Beach access was down a steep sandy slope and the beach itself was very rocky. The restroom facilities were in need of updating and weren't very clean. There were a few seasonal campers around and a number of rowdy guests that made us feel uncomfortable. I can't recommend this campground. - sec611

Aug 2017 - $40.00
This is one of the nicest RV parks we've ever stayed in! Huge level sites with tables, fire pit and lots of room for gazebo, chairs, or whatever you'd like outside. Owners are the nicest people AND they make homemade moon pies for sale in the little cafe. We had a bit of trouble with the wifi and they went out of their way to make sure things were good. Great cable! Nice large pool and close to town. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend. - Catsinatrailer
Aug 2017 - $67.00
This is a great park. There are quite a few seasonals which we normally do not like. But this park is different. The seasonals are neat - no junk- nice yard areas. The park has all kinds of activities and socials. The grounds and bathhouses are exceptional. The owners and staff are super nice. - DAV53
Aug 2017 - $65.00
Great married couple own this park. They were super helpful in suggesting things to do and see. There is a small restaurant that they operate. The food was very good. Nice Laundry facilities. This park was spotless. One the neatest parks we have ever seen. There are a number of seasonal renters, but the sites are well maintained. Owners are currently working on expanding the park. Good location close to Sebago Lake. - Hawkhill59
Aug 2015 - $45.00
We chose this CG because of location on Long Lake. We are still here as our new motor home broke down and was towed to ford. The owner has gone above and beyond, first trying to jump start us, then he asked an rv tech who was here for someone else to come by our site which he did, but to no avail. When the tow truck driver came he said he could only take one person, that left me and our 2 dogs. The owner used his golf cart to take me, 2 dogs, some food and bedding to a cottage on site for the night as my husband had to go with the RV and then rent a car. We did get on the lake in a rented rowboat with the Dogs yesterday before all the trouble and it was lovely and the water was warm. The staff are helpful and friendly, it is quiet at night. The town is 2 miles away with shops and restaurants. I would recommend this CG. The roads are dirt and gravel and there are a lot of low branches. The beach is nice and large enough for families to sit together. The game room has pool and ping pong. There are a lot of places to rent a boat within a few miles. Most sites are pretty level - Winnebago Wanderers
Sep 2017 - $90.00
This is one of the few options for this part of the country. It could be so better. Staff is cold and gives the impression that they are just doing a boring job, not providing service and care as they should, given they are in the hospitality business. Dirt sites which are mud in the rain. Large population of small kids on bikes and in golf carts. Makes driving a very cautious event. Setting is what makes it. The shore of Lake Sebago is sensational. Back to care, we awoke this morning to no water. Emergency phone line was a message machine. After one hour of waiting for call back, I went to front office to hear, "Oh, they are working on something, it should be back on soon." I hate when campgrounds show this kind of disrespect to customers. Answer your phone if you are going to do these kind of things! - Elmo and Gracie
Jun 2016 - $60.00
This a great campground! The campground has spacious and private sites. The staff member that checked us in really did not know specifics about the campground, directions to our site, event tickets to the Blues Festival etc.... The site had 50 or 20 amps. I had to go to the office to get a 50 to 30 amp converter ($20 deposit). The first converter was faulty and needed to get a replacement. The hookups are at the very back of the site and the sewer pipe was about 2 feet off the ground and made for a tricky discharge. The amenities at the campground are excellent and the lake/ beach was enormous! We will be returning to this campground in the future! - clw_man
Aug 2015 - $75.00
We camped here with a group of 4 other families. Our request to be located together was met by the campground in one of the loops close to the action. Our 42' motorhome and one of our friends with a 40' 5th. wheel fit nicely on large sites that were pretty level. Sites were mostly gravel/grass with a fire-pit. Hook-ups conveniently located and the 50 Amp service never fluctuated. We had a little problem with overhead branches that was addressed with a bucket truck operator working with us to clear the low branches above. The lake is the big draw here in our opinion. It is a GEM! The campground itself is very woodsy and rustic. There aren't any cement pads to park on or eat on, which we prefer. Bath houses and rest rooms were a bit distant for those with pop up campers. Rent a golf cart early (they go fast) because you will appreciate it and need it if you navigate throughout the grounds. They had a nice Tiki Bar overlooking the lake, with great nachos and cheese and a decent menu. Also enjoyed a talented guitar player/singer who was very entertaining. The kids in our group had plenty to do with the supervision of campground staff. The camp store was stocked with many of the typical camper needs. The marina had many water toys to rent. We opted for speed boat and a pontoon boat with 2 large tubes to pull the kids on. Great fun. We would stay here again. There are a couple of mobile RV repairmen that will come to your site for needed repairs. We had minor issue with our water heater and it was repaired at a very reasonable price. - Dieselpower
