We stayed here for two nights. They advertise pony rides and blow up slide. When we arrived they said the slide only is blown up Wednesday's and Saturday's. The pony rides? She didn't know when they were if they were doing them. We were charged more than we were quoted and had issues with refunding the differences. The internet was off and on. The dump station was backwards and you had to go out of your way to use it the correct side. For a KOA, it was not up to the standard we are used to. Customer service was terrible and they never apologized for the mix up.

I would NOT stay here again. If you advertise "fun" activities for the kids, you should either note on your website when they are or not offered. We camped at Freeport / Durham KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This is an excellent KOA located close to Freeport Maine and is well maintained and very clean. Roads leading to the park are marginal, at best, and need to be navigated very carefully (obviously Maine needs to put some money in road maintenance). Campsites are either in the open (pull throughs) or in the woods (typically back-ins), some have dumps but all have electricity and water. When making the reservation you can choose what type site you want--obviously cost of the site is dependant on the amenities. There's a lot for kids to do with train rides through the campground on weekends. WiFi is inadequate for a park this big. I could always log on but sometimes the signal was so slow everything timed out. Verizon coverage was poor but OTA Television was great. We enjoyed this KOA so much extended our stay three days. Highly recommended. We camped at Freeport / Durham KOA in a Motorhome.

Everything here is hunky dory. Large roomy site, huge dog park, bags to gather dog waste, the best brick oven pizza on Friday night. The only draw back might be that it is a ways to the interstate. We camped at Freeport / Durham KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed mid May and many functions were not yet running, like pool and nightly functions. Gate was broken and not repaired in the 3 days we were there. This was not far from our home and we were running our new coach through its paces. Despite no pool or other amenities and 40-50 degree temps, they still charged $6/each for my brother and his wife to come see the coach for 2 hours and have a burger with us. Woman at office was unwavering in collecting the visitor fee despite the lack of services available. The previous 2 KOAs we stayed at in the prior week waived any visitor fees as they were just getting up and going for the season. They have a decent store and were friendly but the visitor fee thing was a real negative since we were nearly the only non-seasonal unit there. We camped at Freeport / Durham KOA in a Motorhome.

This place was cute and you could tell the owner put a lot of effort into the grounds or the people that stay there care about their surroundings. We stayed in front of the playground and you could see cute decorated areas. If you stay there, you will know what I mean. The owner was wonderful to talk to! He has inspired us to be campground owners. The store was really cute with lots of items for sale and a log cabin feel. There were some potholes coming in. I wish campgrounds would get those fixed. We ran into worse ones at other KOAs. Maybe it's a KOA thing! You are very close to Freeport downtown and downtown has RV parking! We just loved this area. He has ponies too and he is going to have a little farm setup, maybe next year! How great for kids. We had no issues with the WiFi. The dump station wasn't fully working because they had a problem with the water line when it froze a couple of nights before we arrived. We camped at Freeport / Durham KOA in a Motorhome.

Our second stay here. We like it a lot the first time so we return. Half the campground is opened with no trees and half is wooded. Lots of activities for the kids and there were plenty of kids around. One note is that the activities are quick so if you miss the start of something it could be over when you get there. We tried the pizza Friday night and found it to be very good, nice to not have to cook after the long drive and traffic we had. Like this campground and the area so we will be back. We camped at Freeport / Durham KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This was our first time camping in Maine, and it was a great experience. The campground feels like it's in the middle of nowhere, and took a while to get to from the highway, but overall convenient to Freeport and the Casco Bay area in general. Campground staff were very friendly, and there were a lot of activities the weekend we were there. Site was backed up to trees which provided just enough shade, but the site was muddy as the previous occupant had used a very large mat which killed the grass. I would return to this campground. We camped at Freeport / Durham KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Out of town, but easy to get to. A nice quiet rural setting with spacious sites and clean facilities. We were there after most schools had started so did not have a lot of children. I can see that as being a bit more busy during the season. There were many children oriented activities like a barrel ride and pony rides. The pool was busy as well. Laundry facilities were ok, but stairs had to be used to transport laundry. There was also a card entry gate, which I felt was more an inconvenience than a safety feature. Breakfast was available on the weekends while we were there which was nice. Privacy was good, wifi was good, 50AMP power with no problem. We would stay here again and would request a back in under the trees. We camped at Freeport / Durham KOA in a Motorhome.

We spent a couple nights here and nothing but good things to say about this campground. While there are no 4-lane highways leading up to the park, it is easy to get to and the entrance is well marked. Check-in was smooth and access to our long pull-through site was as easy as we've seen. The hookups were all in the right locations and easy to use, although the water pressure is on the low side. Wi-Fi is free and works best in the morning when fewer users are on. AT&T cell service is good. We anticipate returning here next were as a stopover for a couple days while enough to Bar Harbor. We camped at Freeport / Durham KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Freeport is a 10 minute drive and has all the usual outlet stores you would expect to find. And of course the highlight of any shopping excursion is LL Bean's main store as well as several specialty LL Bean stores. If you're a fan of the brand, it is all right here.

And we can't forget to mention lobster! It is served everywhere and every way you could imagine. Lobster rolls for lunch and lobster bake for dinner made our day!

Level pull-thru site with good services. Only negative was the power which occasionally showed low voltage range from time to time, but still above shut-off level. Was early season but would be interesting to see voltage in busy time. Staff were friendly. Have seasonals but they are for the most part separated from travelers. We would stay again. This campground is awesome! The campground is in great shape, the staff were very friendly, and its a really big place. Lots to do for kids and a big open area is there for all kinds of activities. A great spot for big rigs as there are a lot of pull-through sites for easy access. We will definitely be back next year as this is one of the "new great campgrounds" we discovered this year. The park itself is average. They try hard to entertain the kids. The staff is very good. We had no trouble with the WiFi. But as other reviews have stated the road there off the interstate is about eight miles and most of it is not good. But if you take it around 30 to 35 mph and watch the road it is OK. Our car GPS took us another way which was just as bad. We camped at Freeport / Durham KOA in a Motorhome.

We booked a full hookup site and my son booked a tent site. Pulling in to the campground and looking across the field, the campground looked real nice. The check in was easy and getting to our site and into it was a breeze. We were in the woods but just on the edge, which was nice. There were plenty of activities and we enjoyed watching the little train go by. We took some nice walks with the dog and the campground was nice, people friendly and sites were good. Some sites could use the grass to be cut but the playing area in the field was in great shape. Close to LL Bean and the outlets. We could hear the karaoke from our site and became a joke as to how bad the next one would be. LOL. If in the area, we would return as we enjoyed our time here. We camped at Freeport / Durham KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Rate is with KOA discount. We stayed for four nights while visiting relatives in the area. The KOA is about 10 miles from Interstate 295. The secondary roads that lead to the KOA are in bad shape so expect a rough ride. In dry conditions the campground can be quite dusty from the road inside the park. Out site (A-11) was about 80' long so no problem parking the motorhome and towed car. Visitors to your site have to pay an entrance fee. We have stayed here before and enjoyed the weekend blueberry pancake breakfast. But it wasn't available this year - we were told it was because of state regulations. Hopefully that will get worked out because in the past the breakfast was excellent. We would stay here again. We camped at Freeport / Durham KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 2 nights to explore the Freeport area. The road leading into this campground (and the one you will drive on to get into Freeport) is one of the worst we have driven on! Be prepared to bounce around A LOT. Look for an alternative when you leave! The campground itself is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, but it is fairly convenient to Freeport (perhaps a 15 minute drive.) The staff is very friendly. We had a large pull-through spot next to the large rec yard. The spot had 2 sewer hookups but the person who directed us seemed to have forgotten this. So we were unable to hook up our sewer during our stay and had to dump on the way out. There was no cable and we really never could connect to the Wi-Fi. There was a nice, large dog run area. Didn't use the bathrooms much, but they were a long hike from where our spot was located. It looked like they were building a brand new bathroom facility near the dog run area. There was a nice, small, well stocked store. Most repeat visitors try to get a shaded site (not the ones in the middle out in the open), but we weren't there long enough for it to matter. There were ant hills EVERYWHERE so beware! I did laundry one night and didn't realize they locked the doors at 9 PM so I had to wait until the morning to put my clothes in the dryer. There is a small arcade for the kids but most of the games were broken. The clubhouse on top was cute but nothing was going on during the days we were there. This campground was also close to Bailey Island (where we ate at Cooks Lobster House), which is a beautiful drive. We would stay here again if we were in the area. We camped at Freeport / Durham KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
