About a mile outside of Ellsworth and away from the tourist craziness. Sites were gravel and pull through with water/50/30/sewer and cable TV. Front section sites were unshaded and suitable for satellite users. More shaded sites in the back. Most campers seemed to be seasonal or semi-permanent as there was little transient traffic. Restrooms were very old but well kept and clean...could use bench/seat in showers and more hooks! Pool is a joke. Just a 4ft. deep above ground backyard pool! Park is nothing special at all and not even scenic. Just a place to drop the hook when exploring Acadia and Ellsworth...but everything worked fine and the front office was friendly. Would return again. We camped at Forest Ridge Campground and RV Park (Formerly Hospitality Woods RV par in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Union River Lobster Pot restaurant is awesome and 1/2 mile away. All the big box stores and groceries are on 1A...go through town and take a right. About 2 miles. DorrSeafood is left on 1A if you want fresh lobster/clams/mussels and fish to cook yourself at decent prices.

Having been welcomed on arrival after a long drive with a such a pleasant greeting we settled in on our very nice campsite. This was our first time at this campground and was really surprised by the couple of negative reviews and found they couldn't have been further from the truth in our experience. Our little dog was also welcomed, as we were familiar with almost all campground pet rules this campground was no exception all rules were designed to be considerate of all other campers meaning assurance of a quiet and pleasant stay. We stayed for a total of 7 Days and enjoyed each and every one. We camped at Forest Ridge Campground and RV Park (Formerly Hospitality Woods RV par in a Motorhome.

They offer many discount options, including 5% if you pay cash. This park is very conveniently located about 30 minutes from both Bangor for large city shopping and entertainment, and Bar Harbor for Acadia National Park and ocean adventures. The park is family friendly, surrounded by heavy woods and is quiet. Owner/operators live in a 5th wheel in one of the spaces so they understand the camper's needs and experiences. The staff is very helpful. We are staying for the season! We camped at Forest Ridge Campground and RV Park (Formerly Hospitality Woods RV par in a Fifth Wheel.

We spent the summer in this campground (May 1st to Oct 15) for $2400.00. It was a delightful experience and we are looking forward to being there again next year. The owners reside on site and could not have been more friendly or helpful. The campground services include a propane tank filling service. We camped at Forest Ridge Campground and RV Park (Formerly Hospitality Woods RV par in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Ellsworth is a very convenient staging location. Acadia Nat'l Park and Bar Harbor are just 20-25 miles SE and Bangor is just 25 miles NW. Baxter State Park and the new National Monument Katahdin Woods and Waters are an easy 1-day drive north. This part of the Maine coast is spectacular and very accessible with many small lobstering towns and harbors.

Owners were very accommodating. The day I arrived the owners offered to drive me into town (grocery store and restaurant) located only about a mile from campground. I gladly accepted the offer as I arrived on my touring bike and I was self contained carrying about 70lbs of gear. For anyone bike touring please call in advance to give the owners a "heads up" if you need a ride into town. Overall the experience was A+! Clean restroom, shower, cabin and the grounds were immaculate! Thanks for a quiet night's sleep and a beautiful experience. This park is very clean. The interior roads are gravel and a bit dusty. The sites are gravel with excellent wifi and cable. My adjustable water regulator registered less than 40 psi and had to use the house pump to take a shower. The staff was excellent and offered great directions on where to eat and what to see. The nightly rate was a bit steep for its lack of amenities (only had an above ground pool) and the distance to the Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor area. This was a clean, friendly campground with excellent WIFI and good cable reception. The staff was friendly and helpful and the seasonal campers were welcoming. My wife and I have been camping for 20 years and this was one of the better camping experiences that we have had. We made reservations since we were arriving for the Memorial Day weekend, but we really did't need them, the park had many sites available with some seasonal sites taken. The office gave us the Passport rate for a few days even though it was the holiday, nice of them. There are two levels to the campground, the lower level has more trees and some unleveled sites. We were in the section near the front, where the grass and gravel sites are fairly level, and just a few trees scattered around. The Electric and water were strong, the Cable good, Wi-Fi spotty at times, four Washers and dryers in the small laundry area. There is an above ground pool and a very small play area for kids. The appearance of the park is nothing special, but you do have a picnic table and fire pit. This is a good place to stay to get housekeeping chores done, but if in the area again, we may try a different location. We stayed here in a travel trailer. We camped at Forest Ridge Campground and RV Park (Formerly Hospitality Woods RV par in a Travel Trailer.

Being away from the crowds, it is a good 45 minutes from Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, and to the Schoodic Peninsular. The drives are slow but pleasant. Being close to town, you have good grocery stores, a nice L.L. Bean Outlet, and a variety of restaurants

We chose this CG based on the reviews, and were not disappointed. Very friendly owners, attractive and spacious sites, clean facilities. We were in a somewhat wooded site, so we had some shade--nice during the hot part of the summer. Short drive to the town of Ellsworth, where there are nice shops and eateries. Another mile or so to supermarkets. About 20 minutes to Acadia and Bar Harbor, both highly recommended (and the raison d'etre of the area). We also took, and recommend, a 2-hour drive to Campobello, FDR's summer digs, with a stop at the lighthouse of Lubec--the easternmost point in the US. We camped at Forest Ridge Campground and RV Park (Formerly Hospitality Woods RV par in a Travel Trailer.

The proprietors of Forest Ridge are among the most gracious and friendly campground owners we've met in our 11 years of RVing. The campground is clean with wide sites and well-trimmed trees to accommodate tall rigs and close to grocery and other shopping. Their monthly rate combined with Passport America is most reasonable.

There is free firewood for anyone wanting to build a fire where other guests are invited to sit and relax.

The proprietors have a strict no loud partying policy which keeps it quiet. They honored our Passport America discount during the summer season which was unusual. We planned to stay for a week but stayed for a month-and-a-half. This is a great place to stay. We camped at Forest Ridge Campground and RV Park (Formerly Hospitality Woods RV par in a Fifth Wheel.

Very level drive-thru site with easy utility connections. Park wifi was good, excellent Verizon 4G, but water pressure was poor. Quiet woodland park that backs up to trails through the Woodlawn Museum land. Outgoing and friendly staff. The park is located on the Bucksport hwy, but well enough off I do not recall hearing much traffic...only a mile from Ellsworth...gravel road coming in and around the park...site ( gravel ) was large, level and surrounded by grass...park was clean and well kept.

Privately owned and helpful, cheerful staff.

We were first disappointed not to stay closer to Acadia park ( 20 miles) but the Forest Ridge Campground turned out to be perfect for seeing all the other sights in the area...a superb central location. There are both sunny and shady sites. We chose a pull through with no shade, since we wanted satellite reception. The campground does have cable and wifi at no additional charge.

The property is very large and the seasonal folks were clean and organized.

Used their wi-fi the whole time there and had perfect satellite reception.

We are not campers, per se...but on a tour of our beautiful country in our motorhome.

Would stay again, no problem. We camped at Forest Ridge Campground and RV Park (Formerly Hospitality Woods RV par in a Motorhome.

Decent campground run by very nice people. We stayed in site 41 which, although was partially shaded, was not level, mainly because of the slope on the front of the site. We stayed here after comparing it to others in the Bar Harbor area and felt this was the best deal. The sites were not as larger as we had expected, our neighbor's dogs were able to lay under one of our slides while tied up outside. Most of the sites in the center of the hill were this way. Still a good 30-40 minute drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Power and water were good, as were cable and wifi (the router was plugged in at our site so that was a plus). Laundry was also reasonable at $1.50 to wash and dry. We would consider staying here again, but would look closer to Bar Harbor and Acadia if we return to the area. We camped at Forest Ridge Campground and RV Park (Formerly Hospitality Woods RV par in a Fifth Wheel.
