Decent campground run by very nice people, Jeff and Lynn. We stayed in site 41 which, although was partially shaded, was not level, mainly because of the slope on the front of the site. We stayed here after comparing it to others in the Bar Harbor area and felt this was the best deal. The sites were not as larger as we had expected, our neighbor's dogs were able to lay under one of our slides while tied up outside. Most of the sites in the center of the hill were this way. Still a good 30-40 minute drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Power and water were good, as were cable and wifi (the router was plugged in at our site so that was a plus). Laundry was also reasonable at $1.50 to wash and dry. We would consider staying here again, but would look closer to Bar Harbor and Acadia if we return to the area. We camped at Forest Ridge Campground and RV Park (Formerly Hospitality Woods RV par in a Fifth Wheel.

We chose this CG based on the reviews, and were not disappointed. Very friendly owners, attractive and spacious sites, clean facilities. We were in a somewhat wooded site, so we had some shade--nice during the hot part of the summer. Short drive to the town of Ellsworth, where there are nice shops and eateries. Another mile or so to supermarkets. About 20 minutes to Acadia and Bar Harbor, both highly recommended (and the raison d'etre of the area). We also took, and recommend, a 2-hour drive to Campobello, FDR's summer digs, with a stop at the lighthouse of Lubec--the easternmost point in the US. We camped at Forest Ridge Campground and RV Park (Formerly Hospitality Woods RV par in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Great craft beer at the Atlantic Brewing Company in Bar Harbor (http://www.atlanticbrewing.com/).

The proprietors of Forest Ridge are among the most gracious and friendly campground owners we've met in our 11 years of RVing. The campground is clean with wide sites and well-trimmed trees to accommodate tall rigs and close to grocery and other shopping. Their monthly rate combined with Passport America is most reasonable.

There is free firewood for anyone wanting to build a fire where other guests are invited to sit and relax.

The proprietors have a strict no loud partying policy which keeps it quiet. They honored our Passport America discount during the summer season which was unusual. We planned to stay for a week but stayed for a month-and-a-half. This is a great place to stay. We camped at Forest Ridge Campground and RV Park (Formerly Hospitality Woods RV par in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Away from the crowds, but convenient to stores in Ellsworth and nearby Mt. Desert Island.

Very level drive-thru site with easy utility connections. Park wifi was good, excellent Verizon 4G, but water pressure was poor. Quiet woodland park that backs up to trails through the Woodlawn Museum land. Outgoing and friendly staff. Extremely friendly and helpful owners. Well kept, quiet campground. Wide, long easy Wi-Fi sites. Big rig friendly. No problem with satellite and Verizon cell service. The area has much to see. The seafood was the best. I would stay here again when in the area. We camped at Forest Ridge Campground and RV Park (Formerly Hospitality Woods RV par in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Food shopping is only a mile away. We really loved the campground and the area.

Wife and I stayed here during our stay in Maine. Loved the camp ground. Very peaceful and quiet. The owner was assume. Helped us get the car rental company to come out and pick us up. Met some great RV's there that helped us out. We will be back next year. We camped at Forest Ridge Campground and RV Park (Formerly Hospitality Woods RV par in a Motorhome.

Very nice, clean, very quiet, campground, we had fairly large pull-through, with full hookups including cable and Wi-Fi. Site was un-level but manageable with leveling blocks, sites are partially shaded, but not fully wooded. Wi-Fi worked but a little slow. Bathroom/showers were clean. Check-in was fast and went smooth, as the lady at the office was friendly and helpful, with great recommendations of where to eat and what to see. Our rate was with Passport America, for 2 of the 3 days. If there is a downside to this place, it's that it's 18 miles to Bar Harbor, but not that big a deal to us, as we go farther than that to get groceries at home. We would stay here again. We camped at Forest Ridge Campground and RV Park (Formerly Hospitality Woods RV par in a Motorhome.

We used this as a base while we toured Acadia and surrounding areas. Check-in was fast and easy, the manager gave us great recommendations on where to eat. Downtown Ellsworth has some great little places to shop and eat - don't miss them on your way to Acadia. Plenty of room for big rigs (almost all the sites are pull-through) and plenty of room for slides on all sides. Our site was level without the need for blocks. Laundry also clean. We camped at Forest Ridge Campground and RV Park (Formerly Hospitality Woods RV par in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Riverside Cafe - great breakfast

Finelli Pizzeria - great pie

Picked Wrinkle - LOBSTAH roll!

Ruth & Wimpy's - where the locals eat and you should too!

Side Street Cafe - great breakfast

GO TO ACADIA - all parts!

Owners are wonderful. They are personable, active and visible throughout the campground. Extremely clean and well-kept place. Great power/water/sewer hookups. Some open and some shaded sites, open sites are satellite friendly. Can accommodate big rigs easily. Close to Bar Harbor without all the hustle bustle of the island. One of our favorite places. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Forest Ridge Campground and RV Park (Formerly Hospitality Woods RV par in a Motorhome.

We were visiting Acadia NP and wanted a site w/ running water/shower. Based on the reviews of this campground, we booked for our visit. After the visit, I can't agree with the high ratings that previous posters gave Forest Ridge. Our assigned site was mostly under water when we arrived. Give credit to the owners, we were re-assigned a different site. Nothing "special" about the campground. The bathrooms were not dirty, but were never cleaned in the the time that we stayed. And it's a haul to Acadia NP. 20 miles doesn't seem like alot, but the speed limit is no higher than 45 mph. Acadia is "special", but if we return, Forest Ridge will not be on the list. This park is an excellent place to use as a base camp to explore the area. The sites are spacious and the Wi-Fi is excellent. When calling to make a reservation the owner gave me a site number, said he took credit cards but not over the phone. Told me to come in and setup as he would not be there and we could settle up later. What service!!! Next time I'm in the area I will stay here. We stayed at Forest Ridge Campground for two weeks and enjoyed our stay. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful, and the facilities were every bit as good as any campground that we have visited. It is ideally located for exploring the Acadia Park region. It is an easy drive to the park or any of the neighboring islands and coastal communities. The cable and Wi-Fi were perfect, most of the sites were pull-through and long enough for most rig sizes. Nice family campground located in Ellsworth. Full hookup 50 AMP, water, sewer, and cable sites that were nicely maintained and level. Park is very treed with a state park feel to it. On site owners that are helpful and friendly. We stayed a few days here while waiting for a new refrigerator for our unit. The park was recommended to us by Ellsworth RV as it was near the shop. They are great to work with. The only negative to this the park was that it was a little off the beaten path if you were in the area to sight see Acadia. There are several seasonal sites, but they were all very neatly maintained. We camped at Forest Ridge Campground and RV Park (Formerly Hospitality Woods RV par in a Fifth Wheel.

This nice, small campground is fairly close to Acadia Park and Bar Harbor, but far enough away to avoid the crowds and busy roads. It is off the highway far enough to avoid any road noise. Interior roads and sites were gravel, our site (#15) was nice and level. Site spacing was fair, and many of them were long pullthroughs - great for big rigs towing cars. Fifty amp power was strong, water pressure was adequate. Sewer, cable, a fire pit and table were included. My wife reported the free Wi-Fi was very fast. Personnel in the office was extremely helpful - he basically helped us outline all of our activities while here AND recommended the best restaurants in the area. The laundry room consisted of 3 washers, 4 dryers and a small folding table. It was clean, as were the bathrooms and showers, which were a bit dated. The showers had chairs and hooks outside of the stalls - nice. The nearest grocery stores were approximately 3 miles away and Bar Harbor was a 40-minute drive. This campground is centrally located to at least 3 beautiful scenic drives in the area, just ask about them at the office when you arrive! We camped at Forest Ridge Campground and RV Park (Formerly Hospitality Woods RV par in a Motorhome.

Our first visit to Forest Ridge was an accident, quite literally. We had reservations at the KOA on Mt. Desert Island, but cancelled due to a blow out on our way. After a tire change, we found a great RV mechanic in Ellsworth who got us patched together and ordered a couple of parts to repair us fully. So we decided to stick close by. He suggested Forest Ridge, and we can't thank him enough. Host took great care of us. We had full hookup (including cable TV with NESN- a must for us Sox fans) and a nice shady spot. For those of you who prefer the open space for a satellite, they have those too. The Wi-Fi worked fine. It wasn't super fast or super slow, but we had a smoking signal on the Verizon card and LTE on AT&T so we hardly attached to the Wi-Fi. We had a nice picnic table and a fire ring. The sites were not huge, but quite large for the area. Almost, if not all of the sites were full hookup and pull-through. This campground is quiet, especially at night. They are pretty particular about it, and we loved that. We loved everything about this place. We loved it so much, we extended our time to 2 weeks and are already scheming how to come back for our second visit and make it a season. We are resisting the urge to rank this place low so no one finds this gem. We camped at Forest Ridge Campground and RV Park (Formerly Hospitality Woods RV par in a Fifth Wheel.
