We stayed for 4 nights. Some nights the traffic noise from I-95 was really noticeable and other nights not so much. This is a small park with some seasonals and one section with about 5 pull thrus 1 of which seems to be a seasonal. There are 2 chickens, 1 cat, 1 old dog and a duck with a hurt leg that roam around. There is 1 washer and 1 dryer in the same building as the bathrooms. The pull thrus were fairly level and grassy and I was able to get my Direct TV dish locked in. The road the park is on is pretty rough. - mrracechaser
Jul 2017 - $20.00
Good overnight transit stay. It is about 2 miles from the interstate exit on rough secondary roads, but is reasonably quiet even though the interstate is not far away. Chickens, duck, cat plus a very friendly host made for an interesting stop. No frills ... just a good transit stop. We would stay again. Arriving near dark, the mosquitoes were present and hungry. - cherib
Jul 2015 - $30.00
Lots of full time run down sites. The manager was OK but the office etc was a mess. Tiny pool. One washer and dryer. The restrooms were clean but run down. $30 as weekend but I'm not sure I'd even stay here at the half price Passport America rate. - kiwitravelers
Sep 2016 - $27.00
We stopped for a night on our way home from a trip to Nova Scotia. It is mid September, so the camp's residents were mostly seasonals. Seasonal sites occupy probably 70% of the campground, so if you are looking for a site in the height of the season you may want to call first.
We camped on site 22, right on Sebasticook Lake. The view was gorgeous and the site well maintained. There are only 7 lake sites and another 7 with front lake view out of 69. Lake front sites do not have sewer hook up. Full hook up sites are $30.00.
There are several docks and boat ramps and a small beach.
The owners were very nice and friendly. Our one night stay was uneventful and enjoyable.
The campground is conveniently located close to Hwy 95 and on Route 2 for travelers driving the scenic route East - West. - Catalina W
Aug 2016 - $25.00
A very nice park. Judging by the amount of decks, sheds, etc. I'd estimated that 90% of the park is seasonal. Showers are .25 for 7.5 minutes or .10 for 2.5 minutes. I found the water pressure terrible. They are also very small and cramped. Laundry is reasonable at 1.25/wash and 1.00/dry. Firewood is 5.00 for a wheelbarrow full and paper and kindling is free. Great staff and a nice quiet location. - MSSW
Aug 2009 - $24.00
If you enjoy small quiet campgrounds and your equipment is not too big, you will like this park. It is clean, well maintained and has easy lake access for water craft. The back-in sites are on the lakeside and the pull-thru sites are across the road from them. Just be sure to check if the site is level enough for your rig before registering since there are not many sites and some are not very level. They have Wi-Fi at the library (beside the pull-thru sites) and a large number of books for exchange. - JTD2
Sep 2017 - $43.00
Very nice park with friendly staff.Very nice club house that is always opened. Some sites with shade, some not. Would camp here again. - traveling the use
Sep 2017 - $38.00
Nice orderly park, with dirt/grass level sites, FHU good wifi. - flexitdriver
Aug 2017 - $35.00
Very nice park for visiting Bangor area, obvious because all the RV Adventure Tour groups use it. There was also an Escapee Rally and Cedar Creek Reunion during our time...busy place! Wonderful people and good restaurant next door that delivers to your coach. Everything worked great and an ice cream social! - z32k12
Oct 2017 - $34.00
We stayed in our new to us trailer while our adult kids and friends stayed in the rental trailer - top notch campground! We have camped here a few time over the years and always enjoy this campground the most out of the other in the Bangor area. Owners are great and take good care of the campground. - daniel31
Jul 2017 - $30.00
The owner was very friendly, and helpful. Easy access to sites, clean, hot showers, nice game room. Cannot wait to visit next year. Only bad: pool table not level and no xxl sweatshirts. - ed fehr
Jul 2016 - $40.00
I have been reviewing this campground for 7 years in a row. Now: there are better campgrounds somewhere based on what you want, but this campground has only gotten better every year since I have been reviewing. Better yet: its the only campground I stayed at this year in the USA, based on economics.
The owner is a great guy, who goes all out to make sure his customers are always satisfied. I have never been treated better. The WIFI is not free, but it worked great!
Every campground that offers free wifi: it sucks! So, paying few bucks for good WIFI is not an issue.
I look forward to going back to Pleasant Hill next year: as its our favorite! - Squappy
Aug 2017 - $31.00
Large, level gravel sites with FHU's. Spacious grass "yard" areas, pool, shuffleboard, horseshoes, small playground, and clubhouse/store. Trees presented a satellite problem. Big plus, for golfers, is the 18-hole course on site. Location is a bit off the beaten path so sightseeing requires quite a bit of driving. They have the best wifi we have seen in quite a long time of full-timing. The rate reflects the weekly rate. The interior gravel roads need some attention for rutting/roughness. - rvrrat520
Aug 2017 - $28.00
We stayed here 4 nights on our way to Canada. Very easy access right next to a large golf course. The spaces were large with good wifi and satellite reception. The park is only a 5 minute drive to grocery shopping and has a Walmart Supercenter. We stayed here in a 44' motorhome, nice level spaces. - Old Farts
Aug 2017 - $35.00
Quiet place! Clean and low key park. This was the quietest and most inexpensive park we have ever stayed at. Not a lot of amenities but also an inexpensive rate. Park is easy to navigate - Matt7571
Jun 2017 - $38.00
The facilities for laundry and restrooms were not acceptable at all. The "activity room" looked more like a storage room with a sofa, tv, pool table and video games scattered about. But the mop and mop bucket along with other cleaning tools and equipment, were just sitting around in there as well. The roads need some work, but were not terrible. The sites themselves are close together and grass and/or mud only. This park accepts Vouchers from the City of Bangor for the homeless. So you have tenters camping anywhere from 25 yards and sometimes closer next to expensive rigs. There was no enforcement of their own rules, i.e. pet leashes, speed limit, noise, etc. The grass at the entry and in the middle of the park is mowed often and well kept, but maintenance around the rigs, was spotty. Internet was iffy, sometime on, sometime off and when on, extremely slow. - Drtskirt
Aug 2012 - $32.00
This is the second year we've stayed here on our way to and from New Brunswick. The management here is very friendly and the all the facilities are very well kept. I see some very trivial complaints in the reviews and wonder why the negative comments. It's supposed to be a campground not the Hilton. - johnny ringo
Aug 2011 - $34.00
Well, where do I start. We have stayed at the campground over the past few years, giving positive reviews. I don't know what happened this year (maybe a new owner?) but it has gone DOWN HILL. Partying until 3-4am, people DRUNK in the campground walking around and disturbing others, the owner complaining about people yet choosing to do nothing about it. The owners were extremely unprofessional and rude. We will never stay here again, nor will we recommend this pitiful campground to anyone again. We are so disappointed in the ignorance of the owners (maybe new ones). We have also noticed that many of the people who use to frequent this campground have left and gone with the other campground up the road in Bangor. - daniel31
Sep 2015 - $42.00
We stayed one night while in transit. I would stay here again, even though it is a little over priced. Approach roads to and within this park is the worst I have ever encountered, they are terrible!!!! Many sites have permanent trailers, though most were well kept. The laundry consists of 2 washers and 2 driers, so expect to wait your turn. This park is right on the lake. - R V Camper
Jul 2013 - $34.00
Camp ground has lots of seasonal sites with older units parked on them. Years of additions, decks, and out side attachments which makes the area "cluttered" looking. Assigned a site to us that was very difficult to put a 39' RV in due to the many trees in the area. There were other sites available that would have been easier to set up in. The lady on the phone was very friendly and accommodating, but the lady who checked us in gave us "no" greeting, was not busy, but gave us the impression that we were putting her out by having to check us in. Lots of dusty dirt pot hole filled roads around and many tent sites with high grass conditions. This is an older camp ground that appears to be getting run down. We would NOT return to the C/G. - Lakeside013104
Jun 2011 - $33.00
We decided to go for two days just to see. Not bad, not great but I would call it a real campground. Quite a few seasonal sites but most of them are neat with flowers and a personal touch with decorations. Didn't see one site that I would call open, in fact setting up a satellite would be very difficult if not impossible, if sat. important better ask in advance. Verizon MiFi and cell phones working well. TV - strong signals but few channels. Electric at 117 volts and water pressure good. Sites are reasonably wide but not well defined leading to various ideas on how to park. This is a work in progress campground. Looking around there are many signs of major efforts to rebuild and update facilities. Small sandy swimming beach, good boat ramp for trailer launching. Main building just remodeled and looks very nice. Restroom I looked at was not modern but very clean. Few children around so far and the ones we saw were very well behaved and quiet. Once off interstate paved roads are less than smooth and dirt access road is typical. Interior roads are graded but could use some more attention. Due to dense trees there is very little grass so outdoor rugs/mats are very useful here. Apparently this campground has a strong following as office reported only a couple tent sites still avail. for the 4th weekend. If you canoe or kayak this is a good place. Moose Island is actually owned by the campground and is a nice paddle. And the true test for any campground, would we return someday? Yes! - ctpres
Sep 2017 - $41.00
Great base from which to explore Bar Harbor while avoiding the crowds in the campgrounds there. Spacious sites stepping down a slight hill, had a bit of an issue leveling but it worked out. All utilities worked well, including wifi, and I was out in the open so my satellite worked. Would definitely stay here again. Be forwarned that taking a large RV into Bar Harbor itself could be challenging due to the narrow streets and the crowds, even in the off season. - ldukeb
Jul 2017 - $40.00
Our site was level with central hook ups. The wifi was ok at the site along with several channels on the rabbit ears. This is a very clean park with very helpful people. If any negative, it would be the price. - Al and Anne-Marie
Jul 2015 - $40.00
We stayed at this park due to its proximity to where our generator was being repaired. We called in advance and left a voicemail regarding availability and requested someone return our call, but no one ever did. So we just showed up around 3:30 to find that the office was closed and a sign on the door listed sites that were available and advised to put cash in the box or if you had a credit card to go next door to the RV sales and pay. After going next door to pay with a credit card the person there had no clue about taking payments for the RV park. So we just had to pay in the morning. The park is nice and accessible to big rigs. Electric is 50 amps or less, water and sewage also. The Wi-Fi was free and was very fast, and it is a good thing that the person at the RV sales department knew the password. Overall not a bad park to stay for a night or two as a necessity but not where I would consider taking a vacation for a season. - MPD334

Apr 2016 - $40.00
Wonderful people, very accommodating. Quiet site, roomy. Rustic and wild turkey's wandered by while we were eating dinner. This park is open late (December) and early (March) for snowbirder's. - pwaygood
Jul 2015 - $35.00
Brand new owners and a new name forthcoming for this campground. The new name is Cold River Campground. New owners making some upgrades and are very nice, helpful and friendly. Directed to site by owner. Roomy site with some shade. FHU all worked well. WIFI very good......owner was still trying to get the cable company to hook it up but over the air stations were readily available. We would definitely return. - Bob & Stephanie
Jul 2014 - $36.00
The WiFi & cable are excellent here as is the staff, who were ready to assist in any way they could. The bathrooms were very tired and outdated and needed a good deep cleaning. Showers were free. They had a Good Sam sign on the window, but no longer offer that discount. They do offer a military (including veteran) discount. The pool looked in good shape. We did not get an escort to our site, but were given the opportunity to look over sites and pick the one we wanted. Lots of mowing going on. Some 50 amp sites were available, but they did not have cable. It was a good overnight stop and we would stay again. - R&S
Jun 2017 - $63.00
We were impressed with the park. The folks running the park were extremely friendly and helpful. The park was very clean and well kept. There are elements of the park that are quite aged but overall facilities are very well kept and park is clean, orderly, and was pleasant to visit. The store was well stocked and the prices were reasonable. We would not hesitate to visit again. - Matt7571
May 2016 - $47.00
We stayed here the weekend of May 20th-22nd with our Western Mountain RV'ers chapter of the Maine Good Sam Club with 2 other members. The campground was pretty empty the weekend we stayed, because it was before Memorial Day and the pool was not open yet. The campground was quiet when we were here due to the lack of campers. There also was not much entertainment/activities due to it being prior to the "official" start of camping season (Memorial Day weekend).
My wife and another chapter member loved the hot tub even though it was small and oddly located. The outdoor pavilion needed better lighting and something added to it such as a movie screen or something of that nature to make it usable for entertainment.
The sites we had were 30/50 Amp full hookup pull thru sites. The sites were either dirt with a lot of roots from the large White Pine trees or large sized rock/gravel sites which were tripping/ankle twisting dangers. The sites were partly shaded from the large White Pine trees around the sites.
The dog park was OK but it was small and the fence did not go all the way to the ground so the ball kept going under it. The walking/hiking trails were not marked and were actually also ATV trails. The store was small and we did not use any of the bathroom/shower facilities. The staff was OK but not overly friendly.
We did go into downtown Skowhegan on Saturday of our stay (about a 10-15 min drive) to go to the breakfast buffet at Ken's Restaurant and some of our members went shopping in Skowhegan and to the 10 mile yard sale that was going on that weekend.
We would stay here again but probably try it during the prime season time between Memorial Day & Labor Day. - HappyCamperMaine04938
Jul 2014 - $45.00
This park is over rated! We had difficulty getting down to where our site was and there was absolutely no way we could pull through due to trees although we had booked a pull through site well in advance, giving the details of our unit. The campground has a PA system that they use instead of walkie talkies to call staff to escort to sites as well as announce events...very annoying, especially on a busy weekend. We would not stay here again. - Keewatin Kids
