The Fryeburg Fair runs for eight days and RV's can come in the Saturday before Columbus Day Weekend and stay for eight days until the Sunday of the holiday weekend. There are two big areas for camping Fairview and Trackside which are parking lots on gravel with some grass with lines for your space. Slide outs cost $5 more. We were Trackside this year and I liked it better than Fairview. They widened the sites and put the lines in so those with big units and cars need to move their cars if they don't fit into the specific site. RV's are very close together and they hookup to a post for eight campers for their electricity and water. You might want to bring a y attachment for your hose in case no one else has one. There is a dump station. The fair is one of the best in New England running for over 165 years and it is so nice to be able to walk over to the fair. Rides, kiddie rides, petting farm, shows every night, performers all around the park, crafts, animals, horse racing, competitions for everything with permanent stages, buildings and barns. Tuesday is senior citizen day and those over 65 get in free. Many of the campers come for the week but there are a lot that come for two or three days. You need to go to the website for the fair and fill out paper that you mail in before a certain date sometime in the spring. They will send you an acceptance in the summer when you then mail your money in - the price has gone up. We camped in Fairview about four years ago and there was a waiting list but this time they have added some rows in both spots and there were a few available slots. Great fair and a good time for all. We camped at Fryeburg Fair Camping in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great time to visit this town in Maine and North Conway is only about 8 miles away for shopping and viewing fall colors. There are some restaurants in the fairgrounds and an assortment of all types of food to eat and drink from seafood to Mexican.

Nice spacious spots located close enough to walk to the fairgrounds, but could also take a shuttle in numerous locations at the end of each camping row. Excellent trash removal service. The only problem is to be aware that the last 4-5 rows are located very close to the helicopter tour site and helicopter pattern was over campers all day when weather was good. No septic, but trucks were available to empty campers. We camped at Fryeburg Fair Camping in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Wonderful country fairgrounds. If you have children, the Pig Scramble was awesome to participate and educational buildings, 4-H exhibits were incredible. Fantastic family-oriented fair.

Tight quarters with thousands of other campers, but a great way to experience the oldest agricultural fair in New England. Even though we live in the next town to Fryeburg, we stay in our motorhome all week at the Fair. It's a tradition we love. We see many regulars and always meet new campers. Because of the crowds and small camping lots, it's best to come early and stay late. The staff is helpful but usually stressed by the end of the week. Hint... Use the "honey wagon" service... for $10. they will empty your tanks with a day's notice (sign up at the camping office.) Then, you can pull out the next day and avoid a long line at the dumping station. See you at "The Fayah." We camped at Fryeburg Fair Camping in a Motorhome.

This is at the Fryeburg Fair which is one of the biggest fairs in New England, second to Springfield. Camping starts in 2007 for Sat September 29 through Sunday October 7. It is at the fair and they have over 3000 campers stay during the week. You can stay in the Trackside or Fairview areas. We stayed in the Fairview. This is bumper to bumper camping but with electricity and water, no bathrooms. There are showers though on the fairgrounds for pay. Considering it costs over $10 to park a camper in one of the parking lots around the fairgrounds, paying to camp for around $26 a night for water and electricity is not a bad price. The fairgrounds and everything going on is right there in walking distance. Tuesday is senior day for free entrance to get into the fair and they have nightly entertainment. It is a good time – you must stay at least two nights and most people stay for the week. This fair has lots to eat, great halls with homemade crafts, furniture, and events like the piglet run, skillet throw and the lumberman contests. It is different. The schools in this area are closed for this week; last year they had over 400,000 people attend the fair. Most campers that you see during this time even along the Kancamagus Highway are all heading to the Fryeburg Fair. It is also near North Conway, New Hampshire with all its discount shopping and great places to eat. We camped at Fryeburg Fair Camping in a Motorhome.
