This is a small but well maintained campground that overlooks a tidal river tributary of the ocean. The river basin that abuts two sides of the park empties twice a day provides a continually changing water view-which can be enjoyed from the benches placed along the waters frontage by the owner. We camped at Sunset Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Centrally located along the coastline provides great sightseeing from the Schoodic peninsula, the northern annex of Acadia National park, all the way up to the West Quoddy Lighthouse near Lubec. No visit would be complete without a trip to Beal's Island and Bayview Takeout, an iconic roadside eatery. The parking lot provides a message about the quality of the seafood offerings - at least 2/3 of the license plates are local Maine plates.

Great spot! Roads are gravel and in good condition. Sites are grass and are very roomy with lots of trees for privacy. All sites were easy to get in and out of - both back in and pull throughs. We saw several 45' Motorhomes come and go with no problems. The owner has mowed many areas and trails through out the property so it was nice for walking the dogs. Also there is a nice walking trail along the water. There is a medium size grocery store not too far but most things are not close by. This was our favourite RV Park so far this summer and we plan on returning. We have a 38' motorhome. We camped at Sunset Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Beautiful small park on a back bay, the bay empties out entirely at low tide, and then fills back up at high tide. Very well kept, quiet, and peaceful. You can by lobsters from the campground, or go down to the docks a few miles away and buy off the dock. We camped at Sunset Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Took a ride up to Lubec to see Bay of Fundy, and West Quoddy Lighthouse. It was a beautiful day, but the fog was to thick to see out over the water at lighthouse.

This is a small and quiet campground. We had a spacious pull thru site for our 25ft motorhome. Nice plantings between sites with our own covered picnic table and firepit. The trails along the coastline around perimeter of the campground gave beautiful views. Lots of benches to stop and sit awhile. Friendly staff. Wood for firepit available at $4 a bundle. Lots of DVDs available to borrow. Definitely recommend. We camped at Sunset Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Pros - this is a very nice quiet campground next to the bay. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Sites are large, grassy, and many are shaded. Cons - BEWARE, there is no TV antenna coverage and the owner charges $5 PER DAY for cable. There is nothing in his website that states anything about this extra charge or the lack of coverage. I believe that is somewhat deceiving. However we would definitely stay here again as it is a beautiful area. We camped at Sunset Point Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Small campground overlooking water inlet on grass sites. Most have full hookups. Quiet with great sunsets over the water, stars, and sunrise. Very friendly and helpful staff. Most beautiful campground we have ever been in. The wind does blow from noon. Interesting to watch the tide below come and go. We camped at Sunset Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Be aware that there are two CGs with very similar names and only about 50 miles apart along the Maine Coast. (We stayed at the other as well - see my review.)

This is a great, though small, CG that actually backs up to a bay with a view to the Atlantic. We found it by accident and were happy enough to add days to stay four nights. Quiet, well spaced sites. The owner will even deliver a lobster dinner to your site if he has any.

If there was any drawback, our particular site was a bit difficult to back in with a 38 foot 5th wheel and a long bed truck. Most of the other sites will work just fine. A covered table, fire ring and trash can at every site. There is a very nice, easily walked path that follows the shore and has a couple benches. We hope to return someday. We camped at Sunset Point Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

I love this little campground and could easily spend weeks here. It only has 21 RV sites and feels like a campground should. It's quiet, attractive, and functional. The facilities are not new, but they are clean and well maintained. You get park quality views and sunsets from the short little trail around the campground, or directly from some of the sites, for no extra charge. No water slides, pools, or coasters, so it won't appeal much to the faux adventure crowd. We camped at Sunset Point Campground in a Motorhome.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this campground very much. The owner is friendly and helpful. Although the showers were the older cement and wood type shower stalls they are clean with plenty of hot water. We were unable to get any tv stations on our antenna nor satellite but the wifi was good. The sunset over the water was beautiful and the dog walk / water walk path was real nice for humans and dogs alke. We would most definitely stay here again. We stayed here for 2 nights so we could visit Beals Island before going to Bar Harbor and Acadia NP. As others have written, this is a gem along the coast of Maine. Extremely nice hosts. Rooftop satellite dish worked fine in site 17 which was mostly level (our air leveling only had to raise one side. The only reason I didn't give a 10 is for the lack of sewer at most sites. A few have sewer, but they are only 30 amp electric. Each site has a covered picnic table and a fire ring or fireplace. The host was not cooking lobster on order after August 31st. We camped at Sunset Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to visit Beals Island. It is the real Maine. We went on one of the wharfs and learned a great deal about lobster fisherman. The people were friendly and willing to take time to explain what they do and how, and what the pros and cons are being a lobster fisherman, etc. We watched two different boats bring their catch in, up close, right on the dock where they were unloading. We learned how the buyers grade each lobster and what the grading means.

We really enjoyed our stay at this park. We had a pull thru site with nice, covered picnic table. Lots of room between sites. Owner will cook lobsters and deliver them to your site. Delicious and very reasonably priced. Beautiful setting. Park is on the water and has a short, shoreline walking trail where we found wild blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. We had good water and 50 amp service. No sewer hookup at our site but there is a dump station. Wifi worked pretty well. One of the best places we have stayed in the state of Maine. We arrived to a beautifully maintained campground. The sites are on grass with a hut on most sites for the picnic table. Full hook ups are on most of the larger sites. Our site had no sewage but the dump station was very near by. Also a pump out service is provided for a fee of $10. WI-FI is excellent, AT&T was good. Dish satellite is possible. The tent sites were the best I have ever seen. They are tucked away in a secluded area with plenty of privacy between sites. The only negative is for those with small kids, no playground; the campground is oriented toward adult enjoyment. Hiking paths are mowed for casual strolling around the campground.

We enjoyed our lobster dinner as served by the owner. It included plates and bowls and all the utensils need for cracking shells. Outstanding meal.

We stayed for five days. We camped at Sunset Point Campground in a Travel Trailer.
