We stayed here twice; once on the way into Canada and again on our return. Very nice camp and super staff. Our first visit we only had water & electricity and the site was a bit tight but on the return trip we had a full-hookup pull through and it was great. The only tricky thing is turning left into the campground from the road as it's very busy. We were there in off-season but they have a nice store and looks like a cafe. We camped at Bangor / Holden KOA (formerly Red Barn Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

We had a great stay even if it were only one night. Would love to come back. Good WiFi. Staff was very helpful. Sites were a little close but nothing compared to many campgrounds. Baths were clean. We camped at Bangor / Holden KOA (formerly Red Barn Campground) in a Motorhome.

The owners plan on more upgrading. They need to have a better cleaning of the showers and restrooms. The bath mats were filthy and were never moved the entire 6 nights we were here. The electric service was weak. Couldn't run ac and microwave at the same time. Water hook up and electric plug are located at the front of the sites so unless you have a very long cord or an extension cord you can't utilize the nice long spaces. Dump station is a little tricky to get to but easy to use. We camped at Bangor / Holden KOA (formerly Red Barn Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

We found this park as an acceptable location to spend one night. We did not utilize any of the services at the park except for our hook ups. Site was level and good size. We camped at Bangor / Holden KOA (formerly Red Barn Campground) in a Motorhome.

Stayed 6 nights and enjoyed our stay. Owners were very nice. It was off season so it was somewhat quiet although busier than we expected. Our site worked fine but was tight, had to leave the truck on the very edge of the street. Had to move it a couple times to let campers out from across the street. If you are in the area for Bar Harbor, you are about an hour away. There are a few things to do in the area but not much. We were there for 6 nights. Will return if we are in the area. Stayed for 1 night on way back into USA. Like many New England RV parks there is a large percentage of sites for seasonal folks. Well kept up and spaced sites. Dump station a little awkward to get to. Located near entrance vs. exit.

Have pizza and ice cream available on site. Well stocked gift and camping supply store. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Very strong wifi. Bathrooms very clean and modern. Pool. We camped at Bangor / Holden KOA (formerly Red Barn Campground) in a Motorhome.

Host was very friendly and accommodating. We had an "opposing" pull through that can take 2 RV's, 180 degrees opposite. There's a nice store where you can order pizza and buy necessities. At least 2 RV repair places within a mile or so. Very convenient to Bangor and plenty of shopping. A little over 1 hour to Bar Harbor. WIFI was excellent and free cable provided about 70 channels. We were here early in May so no pool and park was sparsely populated. I think there are more activities, etc., going on further into the season. We camped here for two nights. Great location for visiting Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Campground was quite full. Many sites appeared to be seasonal. We had a pull thru FHU. Cable tv service was good. The staff was getting ready for their Christmas in July weekend which seemed to be a big event each year. We would camp here again if in the area. Clean, spacious, graveled sites. Extremely friendly owners. Showers/bathrooms new and sparkling! Good location which allows for easy day trips to many of Maine's beautiful sites. Would certainly recommend for overnight or extended stays. We camped at Bangor / Holden KOA (formerly Red Barn Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Our first stay at Red Barn, and we were pleasantly surprised. The CG is much larger than it looks like from the road. (Our rate is a combination PA on weekdays and Good Sam for the weekend, by the way). We were given a very nice, large pull thru with great Wifi, a very good cable TV signal, 50 Amp and close to the store, yet in a very peaceful quiet area that we really enjoyed. The owners are diligently working hard to continuously make even more improvements. This is a great place to camp if you plan on visiting Acadia National Forest and Bar Harbor, without having to be in the midst of it all. It's about a 40 -45 minute drive to get to Bar Harbor from here. This park has quite a few seasonals and there are lots of activities for the kids. We were here during their "Christmas in July" weekend and it was lots of fun, even though we are empty nesters. The office has a great little store with lots of camping 'stuff' and gifts. They also have a snack bar that sells ice cream, sandwiches and pizza, which they deliver to your site. We spent 6 nites/7 days here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners, Chris and Sally were great. We camped at Bangor / Holden KOA (formerly Red Barn Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Nice spacious lot. They are renovating the campground and it shows. Nice fresh crushed rock on roads, brand new bathrooms which were well kept. Very friendly owner. Decent wifi - enough to check your emails. The pool was warm and overall clean, but it definitely could be improved. There were items on the bottom of the pool, dirt on the walls of the pool, the furniture could do with some cleaning, but the hours are generous, lots of activities going on, and strict about cars driving slowly. We camped at Bangor / Holden KOA (formerly Red Barn Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Under new ownership. This is their second season and they have been working nonstop year round to really re-do this campground. Seasonal sites as well as ample nightly/weekly spaces, including 50 amp pull throughs. Heated pool opening Memorial Day weekend. Plenty of sun, shade, room for the kids to roam and bike (adjacent to elementary school for even more biking area and playground/ball fields). Backs up to conservation land hiking trails. Convenient for day trips to Bangor, Bar Harbor and DownEast Maine and right off the main road, but without much noise. Rear baths were gutted this winter and completely replaced. Cafe/ice cream shop/store totally redone. New playground structure has arrived. We have the furthest back site and still have good Wi-Fi without onerous limits--way above average. Most seasonal guests are home owners in the local area or are snowbirds. We live in "Vacationland" and still choose to make this place our summer home. Renewed pride in the appearance of the entire place was evidence on opening weekend when guests all pitched in with raking and fallen wood removal. Our family camped all over the U.S. (from ME to CA to AK and back) for 2 months in 2013 with our three kids (10-14) and we couldn't be prouder to have this as our hometown campground. Rate reflects seasonal rate. We camped at Bangor / Holden KOA (formerly Red Barn Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Sites are not level, roads are terrible in park, one lane with cars parked all along side of road, making it difficult to pull motorhome through. Many unkept permanent trailers. Rate is for CG USA, but still too much for what you receive. On the plus side, internet and cable are OK. We camped at Bangor / Holden KOA (formerly Red Barn Campground) in a Motorhome.
