The campground deserves its high rating. The sites area little close together but they are arranged such that 90 percent have an unobstructed view of the cove. The staff are fabulous. They even gave us a cooker for the evening to cook some "lobsta". The wood is $3, the cheapest we have experienced in three years. The internet is not the best but all the other things make this a great place to go in northeastern Maine. We camped at Sunset Point RV Trailer Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rate is based on week's stay. The positives: lovely place with great view, nice park managers, convenient to Campobello, West Quoddy Head Light and restaurants. The negatives: no Verizon phone or hotspot, campground wifi is only good at the office, no cable and antenna TV picks up only 2 Canadian stations (PBS and BBC). Much depends on what site you get and how your neighbors have parked. Both our neighbors were crowding our space very badly so we had zero view, no breeze, could hear every word they said in their RVs, unable to put out our awning or patio mat. Picnic tables and fire rings for the center pull-thru row are all about 40 feet away across the road. The sites are so tight there's no way to put a picnic table between them. Three people had large German shepherds, one of which tried to attack another small dog. Another camper had 2 very aggressive large dogs which lunged at our small dog as we walked down the road. Either there are no rules about dangerous dogs or the rules aren't enforced. This is the only campground in Lubec so you either stay here or drive miles to another campground. We camped at Sunset Point RV Trailer Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Shop around for whale watching tour prices. We paid double in Lubec for the same tour we could have got at a place on Campobello Island. The Roosevelt-Campobello International Park is wonderful and well worth visiting.

The North Eastern most RV park in the US. Great location, right on the Bay with fantastic views. And what a sunset we had the first night we were there. Probably the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen! The large manicured grassy pull-thru sites have electric and water, a picnic table and a fire pit. No sewer but they have a dump station. A very friendly gal signs you in and provides a lot of good information on the local area. One restaurant she recommended, Uncle Kippy's was great. We had a whole lobster diner for $17! We camped at Sunset Point RV Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit Quady Lighthouse, the North Eastern most in the US.
Travel to Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Canada. Don't forget your passports.
Visit FDR's "Cottage" on Campobello Island.

The best part of this campground is the setting! It is a small campground on the shores of Johnson Bay. In the campground most of the units are facing west so that you get fantastic sunsets. The owners are very friendly and helpful with ideas on things to do in the area. The only negative is that the sites are fairly narrow so not much room between for chairs and tables. However, we had lots of room in front of the unit to sit and watch the bay. Some people that we met stayed there for either a month or the entire summer. We will definitely go back. We camped at Sunset Point RV Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit Campobello Island and the FDR International Peace Park (bring your passports), take a whale watching cruise (Downeast Charters), eat lobster!

The sites here are narrow side to side, however there is about 10 feet behind each rv site that sits right on the water. It is a beautiful campground with amazing water views. We've been travelling for about 6 months now and this is one of my favorite campgrounds to date. Only downside is very limited cell/internet service, but if you sit by the office you can use the campground wifi. We camped at Sunset Point RV Trailer Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park with excellent views. Convenient to town and sights. This is not a 50 amp park. Big rigs may have problems with power and/or appliances if park is full. Other than that it a very nice area and the park serves it well. We camped at Sunset Point RV Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful location. 2 miles from the International Park. RV Park is cash or check only, no CC. Sites are grass. All face the water. Camp store has lots of local crafts. A furnished apartment, and a rental trailer are both available (with a 2 or 3 night minimum). We camped at Sunset Point RV Trailer Park in a Travel Trailer.

The view is wonderful. Beautiful grounds, very well maintained. Sites are very narrow. I couldn't put out my awning without it touching the coach next to me. We were socked in with fog and rain while there. We still enjoyed all the lighthouses and gift shops nearby. We had 30 amp service and water. There are no full hook ups. A man will come by with a tote and dump your tanks for $10.00. Overall it is a nice place with nice people attending it. We camped at Sunset Point RV Trailer Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit Campobella, NB right across the bridge from Lubec. There are several lighthouses in the area also. We stopped for lunch at Family Fisheries restaurant on Campobella. The seafood chowder was excellent.

We came for 3 days and stayed for 7. Every campsite has a gorgeous view of a bay. Most of them are crowded together, but the view and water access make up for it. The first 3 days we were in the best spot in the park - #12. Then we had to move to a more internal spot, as others had reserved 12 after us. It didn't matter. Both of our sites were nicely level and had water and electricity. Campground only takes cash or checks. For $10 one of the staff will drain your tanks for you. The bathrooms are clean, clean, clean! There is a beach where we launched our kayaks, and where we watched the amazing Bay of Fundy tides. The managers will lend you gear for cooking your lobstah and for digging for clams. We unloaded our vegies and booze into the office refrigerator before we traveled to Canada. Campobello Island, NB is just a few miles away. The FDR International Park is a must see, as is the crazy Quoddy Head lighthouse on Campobello. The West Quoddy lighthouse in Lubec marks the easternmost spot in the US. Have I raved enough? We camped at Sunset Point RV Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Campobello Island, FDR Summer Cottage, Quoddy Head (also known as West Quoddy) Lighthouse, East Quoddy Lighthouse and State Park - be sure to take the bog walk, Peruvian Chocolate store across street from campground, Uncle Kippy's, little roadside stand on left after Uncle Kippy's has the BEST smoked salmon dip.

This is one of the best settings I have ever been in during more than 25 years of RVing. The sites are a little tight side to side, but there is a large grassy area in front of the rig along the ocean. There is also easy access to a small beach. We used the 50 amp service, cable TV with lots of channels and free Wi-Fi with no problems. The staff was very helpful when I was waiting for a couple of packages to arrive by FedEx. We camped at Sunset Point RV Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

This campground is surrounded on two sides by water and is one of the most idyllic settings we have ever been in. Contrary to what was stated in the previous review there is 50A service here, at least in the "center" section. We had a pull-through site and had beautiful views through the windshield and right side windows (we had site 12 at the end which doesn't have anyone on the right side). The sites aren't spacious, but they aren't any worse than at plenty of other commercial campgrounds. The WiFi is great, when it works! Verizon service is weak and is roaming; we're reluctant to use it because of the roaming issue. The sites are grass and ours was almost perfectly level. The people in the office are very friendly. If this park had sewers we might stay all summer! One thing to note is that no credit cards are accepted, just cash or checks. We camped at Sunset Point RV Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

This is a small RV park with minimal but satisfactory services. The restrooms and showers are older and small, but very clean. Wifi worked but was slow. Rain while we were there puddled on tithe ground and it was difficult to avoid walking through the puddles. At least half the sites are on the saltwater bay, though without direct access. Beautiful views. Very convenient to visit Campobello. We camped at Sunset Point RV Trailer Park in a Travel Trailer.

We camped here for four nights. The owners and many of the other campers were extremely friendly. Bathrooms, showers and laundry are very clean. The campsites are right on the water with great views, if only you could see them past the other campers' rigs. The sites are very close together, not big enough for an RV with slides. We had to pull in our awning so as not to hit the slide of the motorhome next to us. No sewer hookups, but a honeywagon service is available. Internet was good, no cable at all sites. We would never stay here for more than a couple of days. We camped at Sunset Point RV Trailer Park in a Travel Trailer.

Had a "cable TV" site ($5 extra) which was directly on Johnson's Bay so we faced our RV nose first to the west and had a great view of the bay every day. The other reviews state that you cannot put a slide out, but that was not the case at our site although I can see where it would be a problem if you are in one of the inland sites. We initially booked 2 nights, but stayed 4 because we liked it so much. Staff extremely friendly and helpful as were the other guests. WI-FI worked great, as did the cable TV. We actually did not want to leave but scheduling did not permit a longer stay. Laundromat, showers and rest rooms very clean and well kept. While Maine campgrounds seem to nickel and dime you to death with extra charges, this one did not and it was a welcome change. We would definitely return. We camped at Sunset Point RV Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

Sunset Point is a small RV park situated on Johnson Bay (a portion of the Bay of Fundy). The sites are narrow and grassy, but fairly level. To enjoy the view, we parked the MH nose in. This required running the water and electric cables under the MH so be sure to have extensions. They say they have 50 amp but apparently they don't. The Wi-Fi was erratic even with our extenders. Satellite worked fine. Our Verizon phones wanted to access Canadian signals (and the associated very expensive charges) so we turned them off. The park is convenient to many attractions including several access points to Canada. We extended our stay several times and would definitely return again. We camped at Sunset Point RV Trailer Park in a Motorhome.
