This was one of the only campgrounds that did not raise their rates for the Maine Lobster Festival so we chose the 15 mile drive. The owners and staff were wonderful. They even offer doggie daycare for a minimal charge. The laundry was clean but the machines are slowly rotting at the tubs, still usable and only $.75 to wash and $.25 for 15 minutes to dry. The bathrooms needed paint and showers are starting to fall apart, but they keep them clean. If you have children there is a nice playground. There are a couple of ponds. The swimming pool died this summer so they decided not to charge for air conditioning. Overall this was a very pleasant stay and with some work, this could be an outstanding park. We camped at Northport Travel Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Just down the road towards Camden is a nice roadside stand, Margaret's. Tasty lobster roll, lobster stew, and sausage roll. Had a hotdog too. Very good roadside fare run by a friendly couple. Outdoor seating. Antique store too. Worth dropping in.

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The campground itself is quite lovely, wooded and quiet. However, the owner was rude, abusive, and threatening. I left as quickly as I could the next day and thus can't comment on much other than the service and the fact that the hookups were in poor condition. This camp ground is located in the midcoast region of Maine with many charming and scenic towns, harbors, and beaches nearby. We camped at Northport Travel Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

I recommend Belfast which has excellent restaurants, shops, and galleries and is much less crowded than nearby Camden.

This is a great family owned park. Charlie, Cheryl, Chelsea, and James are all very nice people. We stayed here from June thru September. The potluck suppers were always fun with great food. The seasonal campers here are just as nice and friendly as well. The park is about 10 minutes from Belfast and 15 minutes from Camden. If you are looking for a resort park, this place is not for you. There is a mixture of shaded sites and sites in the open. There is a great place to walk in the woods in the upper section of the park. Not having wifi or cable was not an issue to us since we have satellite. I am not sure of the daily rate since we paid a monthly fee but I do know it is a lot cheaper than the other parks nearby and is only 10 minutes from the nearby beaches. If/when we get back to the area, we will definitely stay here again. We camped at Northport Travel Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Clean pleasant park, spacious all grass sites. Quiet and easy access to Maine Hwy 1. Good spot from which to explore this portion of coastal Maine. We camped at Northport Travel Park Campground in a Motorhome.
