3 RV Parks near Patten, Maine
Aug 2015 - $40.00
Cost is a guess, as I do not remember. No real discounts available (GS, PA, etc.) This park is older and very basic. Grass sites that aren't necessarily level, older electric, no sewer and dump station access can easily be blocked by cars in parking lot or gas pump. Hard to find and inconvenient dumpster location (in some adjacent field but hidden from site). Old electric, and only 30 amp. A single A/C drawing 13 amps would drop voltage from 120 to 108. We switched sites and still had problems. I would not return with a large rig unless they made substantial improvements (which the don't seem interested in doing). Rough roads getting to the park, but this is common in the interior of ME. On the positive side, Bathrooms were clean, people were nice, and park is 20 minutes from north entrance to Baxter State Park. - Selectively Unemployed

Sites by the lake, which I requested, were packed like sardines. Water on one side and electricity 40' away on the other side of the site. So many trees it's tough to negotiate the untrimmed low lying branches. Ended up in the field with 2 young kids on dirt bikes flying all around the loop and jumping the bikes through the sites that were vacant, revving up their engines the whole time while the smell of exhaust permeated the camper. Called the office but nothing happened. It ended about 7:45pm. Paid for 2 nights...can't wait to leave at daybreak. Worst place I've been to. Keep going! - CapeJD

My family and I stayed here for three nights total. We will never return back to this campground. The late night after hours drinking and partying was way too much and not really a place for a family that wants to enjoy a nice time away from home. We do not mind ATVs, however at 1 AM and 3 AM it's a little too much with the drinking and hollering. It does have a little playground and or shoe pads as well as a arcade room and it is very clean. Very poor management. - T_Ewer

We camped here 2 nights in our travel trailer. The lake was beautiful and it had a nice swimming area. The water didn't get deep very fast and the view was amazing. We found the campground was hard to get in and out of with a big trailer (34ft). Be careful driving down to the office and ensure you have a route to get back out. We were on the hill and make sure you bring a lot of blocking to get level. The playground was a bit dated and the sites were close together and hard to get in and out of. The staff was nice and the kids had a good time. Lots of dogs and kids around - nice crowd. - JimGo1

We have stayed here through two owners and now this year, beginning the third. The first was a really quite bad, but the second made major improvements that brought us back and now the third plans even more major and exciting upgrades and all year round use for some sections. Check it out. I doubt you will be disappointed. Our family will surely be back. - Clemens Family

We stayed at Pine Grove 4 nights in early September. It is located right on the banks of the Penobscot River and is a nice low-key campground. The sites we were on were a little small but they were right on the river. There were some larger sites located in the campground just away from the river.
We were in a site that had water and electric. Both worked well.
The campground has brand new owners. They took possession just a week or two before we arrived and they had the area clean and ready to use.
Overall we would stay there again when in the area. There were no frills, just a nice quiet, clean campground and that is what we like. - LDW5707

Not a 9.5 rated facility. No wifi, no sewer or dump station, no cable or satellite friendly., and no lights. If we want to rate the owner than it would be a 7.5 - simply because he never removed his mirrored sun glasses even in a dimly lite room. He was very helpful however the campground needs a lot of work. It is also 4 miles off the interstate. We will not return. - Travel Well
