This is a beautiful campground! Lots of trees, very level sites, excellent WiFi. Many activities: all you can eat pancake breakfast for a nominal fee; flashlight candy hunt for the kids; disk golf; volleyball; water spray ride; shuffleboard; ice cream social; Flintstones Goldmine (for a fee), just to name a few. Store is well stocked, laundry is very clean, very nice staff. We camped at Augusta / Gardiner KOA in a Motorhome.

Stayed with 40' MH with 4 other rigs for 3 nights...big pull thru sites, but outside seating area quite small, did have table and fire pit. We all had some difficulty getting level, as did others that we met. Good free Wifi. We did get a Maine resident discount but as with all KOA campgrounds, we found the price high.
In a great area, close to Augusta and Brunswick. We camped at Augusta / Gardiner KOA in a Motorhome.

This park is outstanding. The staff is very friendly and really does an amazing job at keeping this park clean. They have tons of stuff to keep the kids busy. NO cable but free WiFi that was OK. Store was stocked and prices were not high. Nice easy pull-through a with lots of space. We would come back for sure. We camped at Augusta / Gardiner KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Weather was cold and rainy, so we didn't use pool. Electric, water, sewer worked well, generous space size, and the Wifi was OUTSTANDING and free! Usually, Wifi at most parks is minimal, but this was perfect. On that alone, I'd give it a 9, but the roads are as bad as the Wifi is good. Lots of big ruts and potholes, which they didn't fill in today, which was a sunny day. The hosts were nice and provided a good map to our site, a cloth KOA bag, and literature. We camped at Augusta / Gardiner KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Regal Augusta 10 is a lovely theatre with reclining seats. Call the Capitol early. In October, they only offer tours at 8, 9, 10, 11,12, and most are booked with 4th grade field trips. The kids were well-behaved, but if you want an adult tour, call and check the schedule. Seafood stew at Red Barn is great!

Well maintained park, very easy to get to from I-95 or I-295. Staff very friendly and helpful. Store is well stocked even for this time of year. Roads and sites easy to navigate with our 37' 5th wheel. Sites themselves are a little close but not terrible. We were here on a weekday so it was very quiet. Would stay here again. We camped at Augusta / Gardiner KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Lovely, woodsy, KOA with spacious sites. Staff very friendly. Quiet area just south of where 295 and 95 meet. Staff escorted us to site and offered help. Activities like bingo, ice cream social, etc. staff even took people back to site after evening activities over as it is dark. Great place to stay to rest or trips to lakes and other areas inland as well as coast. No restaurants or stores nearby. Suggest bringing food before you come. A little hilly but level sites. Nature walks and dog walk area. We camped at Augusta / Gardiner KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This KOA is located on 201 in Maine, right between I-95 and I-295, which makes it a good spot to stay when traveling.
The driveway into the KOA off of Mallard Road is a gravel road that goes slopes downward, so caution should be used when entering the property.
Check in was quick and easy and the staff were very friendly. We were given a "goody bag" that included a couple of chocolates, a KOA map and KOA Kamping Book, as well as information regarding the rules/regulations of the park. A staff member escorted us to our site and showed us where the hookups were. Very nice gentleman!
The campground itself consists of approximately 67 RV sites, 2 camping cabins, and 10 primitive tent sites. The majority of the sites are pull through and offer 30 and/or 50 AMP service, water, and sewer connections; although some sites just offer water and electric. The site that we had, Site # 24, was fairly level and shaded.
Amenities at the campground include free Wi-Fi, pool, laundry, game room, men's and women's restrooms, kamping kitchen, disc golf, shuffleboard, mini golf, dog park, and propane service. The campground offers various events throughout the week such as: Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m. is free coffee with the owners; Wednesday's at 6:30 p.m. is game night; Friday from 6:00 pm - 6:30 pm is an ice cream social ($2 all you can eat), and from 7:00 pm - 9:00 p.m. is movie, candy bingo or game night; Saturday's offer three activities, 8:10 a.m. is a Pancake Breakfast ($3.00 and also offered on Sunday mornings as well), 4:00 p.m. Spray ride (weather permitting), and at dusk is a Flashlight Candy Hunt for the kids.
The laundry room was very clean and offered three washers and three dryers. Rates for the washers/dryers were very reasonable. We did not use the restrooms, so I cannot comment on those. The pool looked very clean, although we didn't use it since we were just there for the night.
We camped in a 40' Motorhome and would stay here again. We camped at Augusta / Gardiner KOA in a Motorhome.

Nice for a KOA. Terraced, wooded sites on a hill. Very quiet. Gravel access roads and sites. Good inter-site spacing. Access roads could use gravel and grading. Power ok, water pressure a bit low, water is very soft, sewer needs a donut. Some sites might have a satellite problem. Wi-Fi ok, Verizon cell good. We will stay here again. We stayed one night, so can't claim to have really explored this park. Seemed like a typical KOA. Built into the side of a fairly steep hill with mostly pull-through gravel pads. Some sites might be a challenge to get level but most pads were level as long as you stay in the center. Good hook-ups and Wi-Fi. Well-organized office. This CG asked for proof of vaccination on our dogs, which we had only because we had been in Canada - have never been asked at any US park. Lots of trees but not really a beautiful spot. Fine for the night but not much charm. We camped at Augusta / Gardiner KOA in a Motorhome.

Typical KOA. Fine pool, clean sites with hookups. No Wi-Fi, but they said they would have it working in another week. Campground is on a slightly sloping hill, but the individual campsites are graveled and level. Sites were reasonably well spaced. Friendly staff. Stayed one night as a stop over and visit to LL Bean in Freeport. Campground is under new owners for approximately 8 weeks. Campground has great potential. Owners are in the process of adding Wi-Fi. Other upgrades are planned. Rating would have been a 6-7 if cable and Wi-Fi were available. Staff and owners very friendly and welcoming. Good campground if passing through the area. Would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Augusta / Gardiner KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

If towing DON'T miss camp entrance once on side road. Terraced sites generally level, but some work required to setup. Access to water front was disappointing, very long walk and not well marked, if driving to water, no place to park. Had planned to kayak but no way to get our kayak to waterfront without a lot of extra effort. Quiet, well maintained park, just about every site shaded. Best thing, staff and work campers. Extremely helpful with local attractions and information for our next stop. We camped at Augusta / Gardiner KOA in a Motorhome.

Excellent campground. Very quiet and extremely well kept - clean grounds and bathrooms were the best we have seen in many, many nights camping. Many trees could use a little thinning out - especially the ones with dead limbs. Close to all needed stores and lots of local vendors to taste the local favorites. Our compliments to the friendly staff ; work campers were very helpful and cordial. A great place to call home for a week or so and see the area. We camped at Augusta / Gardiner KOA in a Motorhome.
