Overall Rating:

This is a small, older, but very well kept facility. The staff is continuously cleaning and keeping things orderly. They are very friendly and proud of their CG. This is billed as an "adult" campground so there is nothing here for kids or activities. That being said, it is in a perfect location to visit Portland as well as the Scarborough and Saco area. There's plenty to do and see. It is, however, a crowded area in the summer. As stated elsewhere, the camp roads are paved but narrow. Just be careful. After checking in look up the entrance road over/next to the pond as it is only one vehicle wide. At night the entrance is gated with a key code. Water, sewer, and electric are fine. Other than the big rig pulls through in the middle, most sites back up to the woods or salt marsh. We had a great view of the marsh. It is very, very quiet here. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

It's only a 9 mile trip to Portland. There are two nice state parks close by that are oceanfront joys. Also, visit Portland Head Light. It's spectacular. There are plenty of beaches and beach towns if you like that stuff. Get a lobster roll at "Sea Salt" Restaurant in Scarborough.

Very friendly managers, park is very clean, our site was pretty level. Some sites appear to be more spacious than others. Lovely flowers in bloom not only grounds maintained by campground but in pots from other seasonal campers. Very quiet area away from any main roads, yet also very convenient to Portland and Cape Elizabeth. Interior roads are paved but narrow, bumpy, and rutted - doable if you go slow. We camped between a park model and permanent trailer and backed up to the woods. We would stay here again if we were in the area. Price reflects weekly rate minus tax. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Motorhome.

When I was looking for a quick weekend in Maine, I found this adorable sounding cg. It was a very small quaint cg, ducks greet you'd you pull in. We called and indicated we needed 50 amp, but the spot we were given was not 50 amp and since they were booked at all spots, we left. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Motorhome.

If your a big rig and one that requires 50 amps, you may not want to come here. Place is lovely but a bit difficult to maneuver in a 43' class A.

Wild Duck was one of our favorite spots in our cross country journey. Private, lovely scenery, quiet, clean laundry facilities. Some permanent residents. We wanted to stay longer but there was no room. Would love to go back to wild duck. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Wild Duck is a great campground. Settled in the back of a residential subdivision, it's very quiet with lots of tall trees and plenty of shade. Unfortunately the shade means no grass grows so our site was all dirt. Other than that, it was level, good sized, the hookups were great, and nice picnic table and good firepit, the WiFi was acceptable, and we were able to get 4G (Verizon). Their cable TV provides about 20 channels. Laundry is clean and capable with 3 washers and 4 dryers, and the bathroom/showers were clean. Controlled access to the park was via 4-digit keypad. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Don't let the look of "On The Vine Marketplace" put you off... it's awesome! They aren't a full-stocked grocery store, but they had everything we needed/wanted plus a lot of goodies that our waistlines are a bit wider for. Quite a few restaurants in the area, most of which we found to be quite good (if not very fancy). Not far away is the Maine Mall with lots of stores/restaurants.

Next to the Scarborough River and miles of wetlands, Wild Duck Campground is a very popular. We stayed for a week and the park has always full. This is a small park with many seasonal campers so the number of available sites for big rigs is limited. Friendly staff helped guide us into our site. Nice long pull-thru with good utilities. Sites are a little close but livable. Great duck pond near the entrance. Close to Portland, the Kennebunk's, Saco, and other places to visit on a day trip. Speedy reliable Wi-Fi is available for $1 @ day per device. Lots of grass and room to walk the dog near the duck pond and park entrance.

Very quiet! Easy access to town and close by is On the Vine grocery and 2 great places for ice cream. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Motorhome.

Sardine city: we are jammed up against each site. No activities except canoe rental, no pool, no place to walk the dog. I don't understand the high ratings. There are better choices nearby. Quiet time is 9 until 8 and there are too many rules. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is a perfect place for us to unwind for a while. We stayed for a week, we got the 7th day free, it is still off season here, so the price reflects that. I agree with most of the previous posts, there are many seasonal sites, so I would call for reservation, some of the sites are tighter than others, especially for the bigger rigs. But we liked it a lot, our site 28 was level and overlooked the marsh, beautiful to just sit out and relax. The cable had 70 channels, the wifi strong, the laundry and bathrooms clean. The whole park was very clean, our site was raked and very tidy. Sprint/Verizon worked well. Good room to walk the pup. It was very quiet here, we will stay here again, when in the area. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Travel Trailer.

This is a lovely heavily wooded park just on the edge of a tidal marsh. Lots of seasonal campers with big rigs and some sites are really, really tight but do-able. Turns are tight too, but big rigs do go in and out. Nice people and a great spot. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Motorhome.

We did not stay at Wild Duck but we drove through it. We had reservations for 2 nights but because of all the trees we could not get DirecTV from our site, which was the last one available. The owner must run a great campground because every site was taken and he had to turn rigs away. He told us that if he was able to rent the site he would credit our card. Within 2 days I was informed by the owner that he had done just that. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

24' RV with tow car. Stayed on the 'peninsula'. Only 20 amp service on the 'peninsula': 30 and 50 amp elsewhere. Did not need to use air conditioning in mid-July due to the breeze off the salt marsh. Nice people throughout - owners and help plus the other campers. Great location: coast of Maine below Portland plus Portland, Maine itself. Scarborough Marsh and the Eastern Trail Greenway are very accessible from this park. Tight quarters and a little pricey compared to what we are used to on the road during the winter out west and down south. Quiet and congenial. We will return. Wonderful location!! The price is for a 50 amp. pull through. We asked for the pull thru to avoid having the awning side facing the road. Extremely well maintained campground. Sites vary in size, but are small. Our pull through site was large enough for slides and awnings with little room in between. The surface was mostly packed sand which was ok when dry, but stuck to anything that came in contact with it when wet. We were on a grass site the last time we stayed here and it was much nicer and wider. The owner and staff are all very pleasant and helpful. The campground is very quiet. We would stay here again. We really like this campground and this is our second visit. There are a couple of negatives. The sites are close together our slide was very close to the next camper's slide. Roadways a tad narrow so stay alert while maneuvering this campground. It is near many interesting sights and the owners are very nice. Restrooms/laundry are spotless. Nice and quiet here with adults-only rules. Nice duck pond and food provided for you to feed ducks that live there. Sites were level and covered with groomed fine sand. Great in dry weather not so much when it rained. If we return to the area I would stay there again. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Fifth Wheel.

Off season rates applied. A lot of seasonals. Backs up to a salt water marsh. Gorgeous setting. Had site 24 and it was awesome. We had wished we'd spent our whole 12 days here! Very good location to everything in that area. Loved the Kennebunkport area which is an easy 30 min drive. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice 'adult' campground. Our back-in site easy accommodated our 40' motorhome with room for vehicle in front. Good cable service. Nice laundry with 2 washers and 4 dryers. Very well kept and clean. Sites are raked, level, and wide enough for privacy. Pull through and back in sites available, as well as tenting. Quiet campground right out on the marshes. Very serene and peaceful. Probably not great for children, no pool or playground. There wasn't a lot of area to walk a dog or I would have given it a 10. Wish more were like this. We would definitely return again, if in the area. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Motorhome.
