We stayed one night as we headed South from Canada. Navigation of roads was a bit tight with 3500 GMC and 32 ft 5'er. Our 32ft 5th wheel was a tight fit for the campsite. Be prepared to back in with some close trees nearby. Lots of helpful folks to assist in getting it placed. Appears to be a very popular seasonal campground with many folks returning year after year. Positioned by a body of water that is beautiful. No issues with check-in. I'd stay there again. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

An adults only campground. My first impression was that the sites were too close together. The pull through sites are very close together. The back in sites, however, have decent separation, although there are a lot of campsites on a small plot of land. The sites are mostly dirt. About half of the fairly small campground is seasonal. The seasonal is on one side and the transient is on the other. All of the back in sites have views of a slough. Pull through sites have views of other pull through sites. Our site was dirt. Not sure I would have been happy in the rain, but it didn't rain while we were there, so I don't know. Everything, absolutely everything, was perfectly maintained and spotlessly clean. The site had been raked before we got there. That was a first for us. Our first impression wasn't all that great because of site spacing, but the place grew on us because of the cleanliness and maintenance. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Motorhome.

We've been camping here for years but this was our first seasonal stay. The campground is exceptionally clean and well maintained, the owners work very hard to make improvements and ensure their campers are happy. The ducks are adorable We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Travel Trailer.

Traveling in a 38 foot coach we stayed 6 nights in a site for big rigs. This park is adults only. The site we had was level but like most sites in our area it lacked gravel on the dirt pad. The park has new owners and they have been adding gravel to many of the sites. I compliment them for the great improvements they are undertaking and all the work they've done so far. There are a lot of full-time residents in this park and their sites are well kept and clean. Our satellite did not work here (to many large trees to get reception). If you have a dog there is ample area to walk. If you are looking for a quiet and clean park where you can sit outside and relax... go here. We enjoyed our stay, and would go back. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a nice well-maintained park. It is quite obvious that the owners take pride in their campground and work hard to keep it up. They have full utilities, wifi, ($1/day and they gave us a couple of days free), good cell coverage, cable TV, and our site was a flat dirt back-in site that had been freshly raked. We had two complaints, one of which was out of their control. During our stay at the end of July the mosquitoes were fierce. We really couldn't go out without spraying or fully covering our arms and legs. Very annoying and I would not go back during mosquito season. Our other complaint is the two narrow drainage ditches that cross the entry road and rack your truck, car or trailer every time you go in or out; that got old immediately. Also, the campground has a lot of trees and satellite reception is virtually impossible. We tried and tried with our portable because we wanted to watch Tour de France (we ended up watching it live on their cable TV). We found this a good base for exploring the Portland area. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

If you're looking for a place to stay that is quiet, this is an excellent choice. This is an adults only campground so there were no children running around. It is a very small campground with no extra activities offered other than camping and canoeing in the marshy area next to the campground. We have a 45' motorhome and had no trouble getting here. The campground itself is a little tight to maneuver around in, but it is doable. Paved streets are narrow, but the sites are spread out enough that we could get our motorhome easily into our site which was sandy. The owners are very helpful and will work with you to make sure you have a site that works best for you. We had to get out our old leveling blocks to get ourselves level (our motorhome is a bus conversion that uses air bag leveling rather than leveling jacks). The owner came and saw our problem, and offered to move us to a different site if that would help us. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Motorhome.

This is a small, older, but very well kept facility. The staff is continuously cleaning and keeping things orderly. They are very friendly and proud of their CG. This is billed as an "adult" campground so there is nothing here for kids or activities. That being said, it is in a perfect location to visit Portland as well as the Scarborough and Saco area. There's plenty to do and see. It is, however, a crowded area in the summer. As stated elsewhere, the camp roads are paved but narrow. Just be careful. After checking in look up the entrance road over/next to the pond as it is only one vehicle wide. At night the entrance is gated with a key code. Water, sewer, and electric are fine. Other than the big rig pulls through in the middle, most sites back up to the woods or salt marsh. We had a great view of the marsh. It is very, very quiet here. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

It's only a 9 mile trip to Portland. There are two nice state parks close by that are oceanfront joys. Also, visit Portland Head Light. It's spectacular. There are plenty of beaches and beach towns if you like that stuff. Get a lobster roll at "Sea Salt" Restaurant in Scarborough.

Very friendly managers, park is very clean, our site was pretty level. Some sites appear to be more spacious than others. Lovely flowers in bloom not only grounds maintained by campground but in pots from other seasonal campers. Very quiet area away from any main roads, yet also very convenient to Portland and Cape Elizabeth. Interior roads are paved but narrow, bumpy, and rutted - doable if you go slow. We camped between a park model and permanent trailer and backed up to the woods. We would stay here again if we were in the area. Price reflects weekly rate minus tax. When I was looking for a quick weekend in Maine, I found this adorable sounding cg. It was a very small quaint cg, ducks greet you'd you pull in. We called and indicated we needed 50 amp, but the spot we were given was not 50 amp and since they were booked at all spots, we left. Wild Duck was one of our favorite spots in our cross country journey. Private, lovely scenery, quiet, clean laundry facilities. Some permanent residents. Wild Duck is a great campground. Settled in the back of a residential subdivision, it's very quiet with lots of tall trees and plenty of shade. Unfortunately the shade means no grass grows so our site was all dirt. Other than that, it was level, good sized, the hookups were great, and nice picnic table and good firepit, the WiFi was acceptable, and we were able to get 4G (Verizon). Their cable TV provides about 20 channels. Laundry is clean and capable with 3 washers and 4 dryers, and the bathroom/showers were clean. Controlled access to the park was via 4-digit keypad. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Motorhome.

Don't let the look of "On The Vine Marketplace" put you off... it's awesome! They aren't a full-stocked grocery store, but they had everything we needed/wanted plus a lot of goodies that our waistlines are a bit wider for. Quite a few restaurants in the area, most of which we found to be quite good (if not very fancy). Not far away is the Maine Mall with lots of stores/restaurants.

Next to the Scarborough River and miles of wetlands, Wild Duck Campground is a very popular. We stayed for a week and the park has always full. This is a small park with many seasonal campers so the number of available sites for big rigs is limited. Friendly staff helped guide us into our site. Nice long pull-thru with good utilities. Sites are a little close but livable. Great duck pond near the entrance. Close to Portland, the Kennebunk's, Saco, and other places to visit on a day trip. Speedy reliable Wi-Fi is available for $1 @ day per device. Lots of grass and room to walk the dog near the duck pond and park entrance.

Very quiet! Easy access to town and close by is On the Vine grocery and 2 great places for ice cream. We camped at Wild Duck Campground & RV Park (Adult Only) in a Motorhome.

This park is a perfect place for us to unwind for a while. We stayed for a week, we got the 7th day free, it is still off season here, so the price reflects that. I agree with most of the previous posts, there are many seasonal sites, so I would call for reservation, some of the sites are tighter than others, especially for the bigger rigs. But we liked it a lot, our site 28 was level and overlooked the marsh, beautiful to just sit out and relax. The cable had 70 channels, the wifi strong, the laundry and bathrooms clean. The whole park was very clean, our site was raked and very tidy. Sprint/Verizon worked well. Good room to walk the pup. It was very quiet here, we will stay here again, when in the area.
