The owners work hard at cleaning and updating the CG and creating cool things to see and do. We have a very nice view of the bay. We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Motorhome.

I would like to thank Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground for their unwavering support for Habitat for Humanity. They graciously offered sites to our RV Care-a-Vanners crew while in the area for a 2 week build. This campground is unlike any place we have stayed and we were full time for a while. There are no full hookups, but they offer a dump service at your rig once a week (free) or on demand (for a price). We opted to just quickly unhook, dump at dump station, and rehook...no big deal. There are some very unique activities here with a thriving artist community. Live music at least once a week. Lobster bake (too expensive for our budget). And lots and lots of trees. The owners were very accommodating and about as laid back as any owners we've ever met. But...there are rules...which we appreciated. Using their free showers, made our tanks last for quite some time. The coastline is beautiful and we'd go sit on several nights after our work was done and just watch the boats go by. They offer 2 park benches down at water's edge. The WiFi did present a bit of a challenge, but I was able to find a way to make it work and the owner's were always quick to reboot the router when it froze. We didn't stay on the water's edge, but walked around the park just about every day and enjoyed the views that those along the water had. We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Motorhome.

Sites are shallow, but beautiful. All the sites are wooded with a nice view of the water. The owners are fantastic! Our neighbor had a problem with their waste valve and the owner dove under the rig to fix the problem! Shop is great with lots of local crafts. Buy the goat soap! Could have been very relaxing except for our neighbor from NJ who played loud music during the day and their dog barked at everyone and everything (not the park's fault). We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Searsport Trash and Treasure barn is amazing, but don't expect any discounts. Buy a model boat kit at Blue Jacket Ship Crafters - the store/showroom in Searsport is stocked with museum quality models. Go to Young's Lobster Pound. Great places to eat and shop in Belfast. Need doggie day care? Canine Country Club is fantastic and close by!

Very laid back atmosphere. Grass or dirt sites. Unfortunately, it rained during our stay and had a muddy site for several days. Fabulous Saturday night lobster bake ($60/person). Great view of Penobscot Bay from our premium site. Very spotty WiFi and tv reception. Limited camp store. Will need transportation to leave camp. We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Motorhome.

Stay longer! This place is amazing! This campground right on Penobscot Bay overs a variety of sites on the bay - oceanfront, oceanview and others just plain beautiful! The true, beautiful spirit of the owners envelopes those who happen upon this place and embrace all that is has to offer. Such peace and tranquility is rare to find in a campground these days. The "oceanfront" sites can be a bit tight but the views of the Fundy Tides are spectacular! Site are adequately supplied with Electric/Water and be sure to read their website for minimum stay rules - trust me, extend your stay! Sites are level. Great laundry available for $2.00. For families they offer: Play Ground, Horse Shoes, Volley Ball, Kayak Rentals, a "Canine Aquarium", and an Art Studio. Big Plus: Walking the Mud Flats at Low Tide! Can't wait to return! We have found our "Happy Place" We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed in early October and got the off season rate 1 row back of the beach. Very quiet and pleasant. Spent a few nice moments sitting talking with the owner as she worked on her loom. Camp wifi OK good ATT reception and 6 channels of OTA tv. We first camped here 12 years ago and wanted to return for the great atmosphere. If you stay and like lobster try Young's Lobster Pound in Belfast, excellent. We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed in a "premium" site right on the water. The campground offers a few different types of sites, the ones right on the water are "premium" and the most expensive, with rates decreasing the further away from the water you go. There are also quite a few tent sites and they have a nice shelter for tent campers to use in inclement weather. Although the campground is located on Route 1, the sites are set back quite a bit from the road ad thus it was pretty quiet. Downtown Belfast is just a few miles south. The sites nearest the water are fairly close together but as we were there off season, there were not too many other campers. The sites away from the water off more woods / shade. The owners are quite nice and there is a small, but nice store on site.

This is a beautiful spot but after spending 2 weeks in Canada and having just as nice if not better views for a lot less money, we found the $80 rate a lot to swallow. We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Motorhome.

Positives: Family friendly. Beautiful location with private "beach". In-house free craft classes. Private garden. Spacious and eco-friendly playground for children. Lobsterbake was AMAZING! Rec Room for adults and children to gather. Friendly and caring staff. Nature walks and hiking trails.

Negatives: Price, but was worth it!

Overall: Cannot wait to go back. We are traveling the country with our children and this has been our favorite campground. The owners truly care that you have a fabulous experience. Many of the campers have been coming for years. Excellent location on the Bay, but close to Belfast for restaurants/grocery shopping. About one hour from Acadia National Park! I can't say enough great things about this campground. This campground quickly became our favorite. The lovely owners have thought of everything from flowers in the bathroom to Saturday lobster bakes. It's a very family oriented place, but perfect for couples as well. They do a great job of creating a community, even with people coming in and out. There is none of the common campground hoopla- no obnoxious people, no vandalism, no noise, no trash. The people who stay here are all invested in keeping it a lovely place that everyone wants to come back to. The sites are meticulous, they have an organic garden your'e welcome to peruse (and steal ideas, I did!), goats and sheep, a beautiful dog run. I even took an awesome pottery class from the weeks resident artist with my daughter. Really, just amazing and restorative. And I haven't even mentioned the stunning waterfront location! Truthfully the best part for me was to watch my 11 year old son be a boy. He didn't ask for the iPad, didn't turn on the TV. He took the Walkie Talkie in the morning, and came back at night muddy, with leaves in his hair, sand in his shoes and a HUGE smile on his face. That is priceless. Go! You wont be sorry. We are already booking for our next visit. We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a lovely oceanfront campground. If you want the best spaces try to get 1-15, as these are merely feet away from the high tide mark.

AT&T & Verizon both worked well from here.

There are few sights with a clear satellite path. The northern latitude puts the angle of the satellites low in the southern sky. I even had problems getting signal on my XM/Sirius radio while driving around. We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There are many things to see in the area. Nearby Belfast has a plethora of dining opportunities. There is a WWI dedicated pedestrian bridge across the harbor from which you can get some great views of the city. If you follow the path from the pedestrian bridge around the harbor front it will lead you through a working shipyard, past a day-sail schooner, then to a few pubs and restaurants.

Oceanfront camping was amazing. Site 3, our site was the best available. No one to our one side an we were able to leave blinds open all the time due to our elevation. The shade and ocean views were perfect. Beach is rocky and water a little chilly for our Southern tastes. Kids had a blast searching for shells while we sat in our beachchairs with our toes in the stones. Only desire was a pool. Bring your largest pot for lobster boils. Lots of local seafood close to camp. Ice was 3 dollars for a small bag, my only complaint. We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Very comfortable campground. Well maintained, on Penobscot Bay. Owner offers free pump out with 7 night stay or for $14. There is a dump station available. Great view of bay when not foggy! Lots of treed sites, gardens, art activities, small store, community room with wireless, laundry and friendly people. All very clean. Free Storage for tow dollies, etc. Will definitely be going again. We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Motorhome.

We had one of the 30 amp electric with water sites for our price. All the sites are in wooded areas and are either grass or gravel with dirt. We could not get any TV reception at all. We did not find a lot of close-by area activities. This is a campground, not an RV park. The campground did offer waterfront Searsport Harbor on the Penobscot River access, not ocean access. When tide is out, the beach is very rocky. We did not see any tidal pools as advertised. The roads are gravel & could use grading. Restrooms & laundry area were very clean. There was a resident wood artist, but we did not take advantage of visiting with him. We thought the rate was a tad high for this campground. The campground was OK for overnight, but we would try another if in the area again. We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Nice woodsy park. Fairly quiet. Most sites are back-in with a little gravel and a lot of grass. Park is on the waterfront, so you can take nice walks on the rocky beach. Roads are all dirt/gravel. No sewer at any of the sites but there is a sewage dump as you exit the park. No cable TV at any of the sites and we weren't able to pick up even one station with the digital TV antenna. Store is pretty well equipped for RV supplies. Nice laundromat on site. Staff is pleasant and helpful. They have several "classifications" of sites. We were far up inside the park for $55 per night. Waterfront sites were $84/night. Overall nice park, but far too expensive for what it is. We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
