Stay longer! This place is amazing! This campground right on Penobscot Bay overs a variety of sites on the bay - oceanfront, oceanview and others just plain beautiful! The true, beautiful spirit of the owners envelopes those who happen upon this place and embrace all that is has to offer. Such peace and tranquility is rare to find in a campground these days. The "oceanfront" sites can be a bit tight but the views of the Fundy Tides are spectacular! Site are adequately supplied with Electric/Water and be sure to read their website for minimum stay rules - trust me, extend your stay! Sites are level. Great laundry available for $2.00. For families they offer: Play Ground, Horse Shoes, Volley Ball, Kayak Rentals, a "Canine Aquarium", and an Art Studio. Big Plus: Walking the Mud Flats at Low Tide! Can't wait to return! We have found our "Happy Place" We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Motorhome.

Town of Belfast is bustling! Alexia Pizza not to be missed. For Seafood try The Nautilus on the dock on Main Street. Eat More Cheese - looks great but was closed for the evening when we went by.

We stayed in early October and got the off season rate 1 row back of the beach. Very quiet and pleasant. Spent a few nice moments sitting talking with the owner as she worked on her loom. Camp wifi OK good ATT reception and 6 channels of OTA tv. We first camped here 12 years ago and wanted to return for the great atmosphere. If you stay and like lobster try Young's Lobster Pound in Belfast, excellent. We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed in a "premium" site right on the water. The campground offers a few different types of sites, the ones right on the water are "premium" and the most expensive, with rates decreasing the further away from the water you go. There are also quite a few tent sites and they have a nice shelter for tent campers to use in inclement weather. Although the campground is located on Route 1, the sites are set back quite a bit from the road ad thus it was pretty quiet. Downtown Belfast is just a few miles south. The sites nearest the water are fairly close together but as we were there off season, there were not too many other campers. The sites away from the water off more woods / shade. The owners are quite nice and there is a small, but nice store on site.

This is a beautiful spot but after spending 2 weeks in Canada and having just as nice if not better views for a lot less money, we found the $80 rate a lot to swallow. We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Motorhome.

Positives: Family friendly. Beautiful location with private "beach". In-house free craft classes. Private garden. Spacious and eco-friendly playground for children. Lobsterbake was AMAZING! Rec Room for adults and children to gather. Friendly and caring staff. Nature walks and hiking trails.

Negatives: Price, but was worth it!

Overall: Cannot wait to go back. We are traveling the country with our children and this has been our favorite campground. The owners truly care that you have a fabulous experience. Many of the campers have been coming for years. Excellent location on the Bay, but close to Belfast for restaurants/grocery shopping. About one hour from Acadia National Park! We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a lovely oceanfront campground. If you want the best spaces try to get 1-15, as these are merely feet away from the high tide mark.

AT&T & Verizon both worked well from here.

There are few sights with a clear satellite path. The northern latitude puts the angle of the satellites low in the southern sky. I even had problems getting signal on my XM/Sirius radio while driving around. We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There are many things to see in the area. Nearby Belfast has a plethora of dining opportunities. There is a WWI dedicated pedestrian bridge across the harbor from which you can get some great views of the city. If you follow the path from the pedestrian bridge around the harbor front it will lead you through a working shipyard, past a day-sail schooner, then to a few pubs and restaurants.

Very comfortable campground. Well maintained, on Penobscot Bay. Owner offers free pump out with 7 night stay or for $14. There is a dump station available. Great view of bay when not foggy! Lots of treed sites, gardens, art activities, small store, community room with wireless, laundry and friendly people. All very clean. Free Storage for tow dollies, etc. Will definitely be going again. We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Motorhome.

Oceanfront camping was amazing. Site 3, our site was the best available. No one to our one side an we were able to leave blinds open all the time due to our elevation. The shade and ocean views were perfect. Beach is rocky and water a little chilly for our Southern tastes. Kids had a blast searching for shells while we sat in our beachchairs with our toes in the stones. Only desire was a pool. Bring your largest pot for lobster boils. Lots of local seafood close to camp. Ice was 3 dollars for a small bag, my only complaint. We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Nice woodsy park. Fairly quiet. Most sites are back-in with a little gravel and a lot of grass. Park is on the waterfront, so you can take nice walks on the rocky beach. Roads are all dirt/gravel. No sewer at any of the sites but there is a sewage dump as you exit the park. No cable TV at any of the sites and we weren't able to pick up even one station with the digital TV antenna. Store is pretty well equipped for RV supplies. Nice laundromat on site. Staff is pleasant and helpful. They have several "classifications" of sites. We were far up inside the park for $55 per night. Waterfront sites were $84/night. Overall nice park, but far too expensive for what it is. We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We had one of the 30 amp electric with water sites for our price. All the sites are in wooded areas and are either grass or gravel with dirt. We could not get any TV reception at all. We did not find a lot of close-by area activities. This is a campground, not an RV park. The campground did offer waterfront Searsport Harbor on the Penobscot River access, not ocean access. When tide is out, the beach is very rocky. We did not see any tidal pools as advertised. The roads are gravel & could use grading. Restrooms & laundry area were very clean. There was a resident wood artist, but we did not take advantage of visiting with him. We thought the rate was a tad high for this campground. The campground was OK for overnight, but we would try another if in the area again. We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is an excellent location when seeking a place to relax and kick back. Searsport is a quiet town, well within reach of Bangor (if you need something from a big box store or miss the crowds). Location is excellent, right on the bay. Park has a great feel to it, owners and workers are very friendly. Free pump out service since there is no sewer at each site. Access to the waterfront is very easy. Traveling with a dog seems to be a requirement here, everyone around us had their dog with them too. Dog Park is very useful if you have an energetic dog who needs to run around off leash, like ours does, to burn some energy. A bit pricey, but you can see why considering the location and amenities. My only knock would be the proximity to your neighbors. You care pretty packed in, some spots right along the waterfront barely have room to park your tow vehicle (you are assigned a place to park nearby) and some of the trees are in bad spots that hinder pulling into spots with larger RVs without some effort. Staff is very helpful, guides you into your spot. We would stay here again, but we want site #3 next time! (room for a large fifth wheel and its tow vehicle right at the waterfront) We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is one of the most family friendly campgrounds in Maine. They have a gorgeous piece of oceanfront land and they have created great access to the rocky beach. They have an artist's studio surrounded by gardens where they have programs for kids every day for July and August. Just an all around great campground. This was the best campground I have yet to stay at. The owners were so friendly and accommodating. It was obvious they take a great deal of pride in their facility, which is well maintained and kept. The lobster bakes on the beach were quite an experience and was so tasty. While some may feel this campground is pricy, you definitely get what you pay for. This is a very beautiful campground right on the ocean. We stayed at site #7 and were amazed by the view! There are very pleasant owners who make your stay a nice one. There is a nice playground for the kids. The staff organized a scavenger hunt. There are canoe rentals. We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Motorhome.

After a very bad experience at the campground next to this one, we were thrilled to stay here! The owners and staff are wonderful and friendly and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. This is one of the best campgrounds we have ever stayed in with plenty to do for all ages, such as dances, sports, wonderful lobster bakes, kayaking, and a wonderful dog park for our dog. They are very dog friendly and family oriented. The sites in the back are large with a mix of sun and shade. The air smelled like pine trees and salt water. The ocean sites had a wonderful view. We will be back! We camped at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground in a Travel Trailer.
