Arrived 1 hour early and lady at front told us we could check in early, went to the office and after already paying over $200 for two nights she charged me an extra $10 for being 1 hr early. With 2 adults and three kids it cost over $240 for 2 nights. Fort Wilderness in Disney is not even this expensive. Very small sites with no pad just dirt. Pool and facilities were clean. Had just stayed right on the ocean at Salisbury for $35 /night and were two hours early for check-in. We camped at Wells Beach Resort Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Way, Way, Way overpriced!!! Small campground with paved roads. Most sites are terraced in the rear of the campground. Paid for the premium and promised satellite reception. Was given a back in site surrounded with trees. Absolutely no possibility for satellite reception. Lots of trees in campground, don't count on getting satellite reception no matter what the office tells you. Site was level but close to other RVs. There was a large pine tree at front of our site and a large pine tree to the rear of site directly in front of our site. That made it very difficult to get our motor home parked. Other back in sites were also awkward to back into. Sites near the front of campground are very close to Highway 1 with traffic noise. When registering you might have to park in a loop at the office since parking is limited when arriving. Water pressure was good at 82 PSI. 50 amp electrical was solid with leg 1 at 123v and leg 2 at 122v. Verizon cell and 4G good. Campground has free WiFi provided by Tango Internet. You must create an account to log in with. Tango Internet performance was poor at 1.31 Mbps download and 0.79 Mbps upload with a ping of 64 ms. Ok for light web surfing and email. Overall campground appears well maintained, clean with grass mowed. We stayed at other campgrounds were nicer and with better facilities for less than half the price of this one. We camped at Wells Beach Resort Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Plenty of things to do here. Kennebuckport is about 7 miles away. There is a McDonald's right next to the campground and a RiteAide close by. Hannaford is directly across the street from McDonald's. Eat at the 'Steakhouse' just north of the campground on Highway 1. Great food, but be prepared for a long wait.

We Booked at the last minute and were able to get in during a real busy time. A lot of money but seemed in line with others in the area, lots od extras here. Pool was great and we used the laundry without any problems. Lots of sites but never really seemed crowded. Super close to beach too!!!! We camped at Wells Beach Resort Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Overpriced. Especially during "leaf-peeping" season where they offer no discounts. Colombus day the park was maybe 60% full. This appears to be an old KOA. Lower sites are right along busy and noisy main road, upper sites are much much quieter. Trees everywhere so don't expect to get a dish working except "possibly" in their most expensive spots. Sites are level, dirt and gravel. At the least bit of rain, you'll be tracking sand into your coach. Sites are close and your neighbors will be right outside your window. Hope they don't use the campfire ring although many do. Upper sites do feel like camping in the woods (aside from the proximity of other campers). The two best features of this place are: 1) location and 2) WiFi. Location is right next to McDonalds and RiteAide, across from Hannafords grocery, movie theatres, restaurants, brewery, and just a mile from Wells Beach. Ogunquit and Kennebunkport are just a few minutes away. WiFi is free, strong, and very useable. Among the top WiFi we've had nationwide. Our site was barely long enough for our 39' RV and our jeep IF we parked the jeep sideways (not easy due to rocks and trees at the entrance of each site). Pricewise even with the location and the region, I felt like it was still a bit overpriced. We camped at Wells Beach Resort Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great walking trails at Wells Beach National Estuary/Laudholm Trust just north of the campground and along the Marginal Way in Ogunquit. Also, Hannafords will steam fresh lobsters for free, so get them at the supermarket and eat them at home vs. paying 3x - 5x for the same lobster at one of the restaurants.

We stayed here twice this year (summer 2016) and really like this place! Location is fantastic and very convenient to everything. We have small kids and there was a playground right near our site, which they enjoyed. We also played mini golf which is also right there. Plenty of options nearby for good eats if you like to dine out. Lots to do and see in the area and the beach is close by too. Also got the 'lobstah and steamahs' fix I was craving! :) Great spot! This is the fourth time we have stayed here and really enjoy it, especially during the off season. Staff is great, sites are well taken care of, electric, water, sewer and cable all work well. We will keep coming back. We camped at Wells Beach Resort Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a great campground! We stayed on a Premier RV site which was $82-90 depending on what day of the week you are staying. I'm glad we spent the extra money because the Premium and Deluxe RV sites would be very tight for any motorhome. Location is very convenient to beaches and restaurants. Wifi isn't the greatest....can't always connect, and it's rather slow. Pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was here. We will definitely be back! Nice park! Clean sites. Older staff helpful, younger staff friendly. Water pressure good, but had sediments (make sure to have a screen on the connector). Electricity good and cable good. WiFi had strong signal but only work one day of our four day stay. The office staff blamed TengoNet for the lack of service. I would expect the park to make sure the service works, it's part of the package offered and charged for. ATT 4G was also weak at this location. Visiting friends in the area, so made reservations here because of their proximity and listed amenities. Their website is misleading and not true. Very close together sites with fire rings practically on top of you. Advertised "HEATED POOL" is only 79 degrees. Clerk said it's too cool at night to get it warmer. (Weather has been in the upper 80's for days and 60's at night). No activities. Very over-rated & over-priced for a so-called "RV RESORT." We camped at Wells Beach Resort Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a clean, well organized campground. There are many employees around to make sure the day runs smoothly. Each site is cleaned before a new camper arrives. Wells Resort has a clean laundry room and a nice-enough store. The swimming pool is a bit on the small side, but again, well maintained. There are several different tiers of campsites available. The least expensive are the sites closest to the road. I would not want these sites. Too cramped and too close to the road. All of the other sites seemed fine to me. The most expensive sites, the ones to the back, had the most room. There are free movies every Wednesday and Saturday evening, otherwise, there were no planned activities. Wells Resort is a part of the trolley system. This system runs through Wells and connects to several near-by towns. There is a $1.00 fee per person every time you get on the trolley. Children under 18 years old are free, and you can buy a $3.00 pass for the day. We camped at Wells Beach Resort Campground in a Motorhome.

Mature trees make this park not satellite friendly. Rules are not enforced for workcampers. Was concerned for fires not being put out; security who goes around to check left early. Office staff did not care. Could not open windows because of smoke. With not much space between sites fire is a concern. This used to be a great park. It has lost its appeal and we will be looking for a different park. We camped at Wells Beach Resort Campground in a Motorhome.

Outstanding park close to everything you'd care about in Wells and the south coast of Maine. Office staff was the best we've come across: friendly, outgoing, capable. Grounds were kept immaculate. Dumpsters were emptied daily. Nice angled pull throughs with deep grass between packed, level gravel pads. Wi-Fi was exceptional. Even on Labor Day Weekend when it was packed to the gills, nights were quiet and relaxing. All interior roads are paved and easily negotiable. Rate reflects pro-rated seasonal. Had a great week at this well run campground. Staff couldn't be more helpful. If I were to come back I would choose a site along the fenceline, at the front, or in the far back. The Premium sites definitely are nicer. Lots to do in and around the area and we did not need a car. Wi-Fi worked well and there is a lovely pool.
