Friendly, welcoming owners. Plenty of shade. Clean bathrooms and showers. Bathroom and showers are small but functional. Cleanliness more important to me than size. Level sites. Sandy soil than drained quickly in rain. No laundry but owners planning to add another bathhouse with laundry. We camped at Pleasant River Campground in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice family-owned and operated campground. The owners are terrific, and made sure our stay was comfortable and convenient. We stayed for a week in one of the pull-throughs in the front gravel area because of our size (45' fifth wheel and Freightliner) and it was perfect. We could have fit in a few of the sites back in the treed area, but they're only 30-amp and no sewer, while the pull-throughs have full hook-ups and 50-amp. Not very many people there during our stay, the real season hadn't started for them yet because kids were still in school. Close to the Androscoggin River, they rent canoes and kayaks and will transport you and pick you up. We were able to pick up one OTA TV channel. The largest rigs will fit as long as they have room in the appropriately-sized sites for you. We would stay here again if we travel through that area. We camped at Pleasant River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Sunday River Brewing Company up the road has good food and a nice selection of beers. Lots of great motorcycle riding in the area, be sure to stop at Screw Auger Falls and walk around. Check out the antique place near the post office about 1/4 mile down the road, the owner is a wealth of information and you'll likely find a treasure or two.

Overall Rating:

The nicest private campground I have ever experienced. Gravel site includes a fire ring and picnic table. Sites vary from open to mostly shady. The owners treat you like family. Special activities and cookouts. Nicely wooded with trails designed by a big kid for the little kids. A surprise find. We camped at Pleasant River Campground in a Truck Camper.

Overall Rating:

Shore power 50 & 30amp, water 60psi, no sewer at most sites. There are two areas to stay. Sites in the back with lots of trees. These have plenty of room to park a large RV but they are mainly 30 amp, with water and no sewer. Satellite is possible but not easy. Sites that are up front are 50 amp in the middle and 30 amp on the back part with water but no sewer. Satellite is accessible in this area. The sites up front are flat but lower in the front toward the highway and good side to side. Very little grass around the newer sites up front. There is plenty of room for slides and awnings. Most sites are back in except those in the middle up front. They have a nice pool. Restrooms are small but nice and clean but it is in the middle of the back area in the trees. Did not see a laundry. If you want a rustic woodsy campsite this is a nice in the back. There is a small playground for children and a volleyball & badminton area. Campground Wi-Fi is available but doesn't look to be very strong, we use Verizon & Sprint air cards which work well. Roads are gravel and sand and little rough in the back among the trees. This is a nice place for a few days using most sites. The owners are nice and live in the house/office on the campground. We would stay here again. We camped at Pleasant River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
