Streets through town to get to park are very narrow. After you cross railroad tracks, be ready for a really dusty potholed road to campground. Check in was weird - we were given orange bands to display so staff could know we weren't "squatters". Finally got to "campsite" to find electrical and water hookups were at least 50 feet away. Campsite was on the edge of potential water hole if it rained any at all. Tried to get a refund as we decided we were NOT going to stay. Were told refunds had to be approved through general manager at main off-site office. Called and of course he had just left office for the day. We left to find something else. Refund was finally approved 3 days later. All we can really say is: JUST DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT GOING HERE unless you see it first. Best thing that can be said is that the campground is on the Potomac River. We camped at Brunswick Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

My husband and I had planned to stay here for our first overnight stay in our new 26' TT. The drive to the campground was the first issue we ran across. The roads through town to get to the campground were very narrow and it was hard to make turns at stop lights without running up over curbs. Once we got through town and over the railroad tracks, we went down a very narrow gravel road, pass the sewage treatment plant and arrived at the campground entrance. I will say the lot we attempted to setup at had a very nice view overlooking the river. However, it was an extremely unlevel lot and we did not have very good success trying to setup the camper. After ruining one of our stabilizer jacks, we decided to pack up and go down the road to a different campground. We camped at Brunswick Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The road to the campground is narrow as everyone has said. The sites are on grass, very little shade. Some are pull through & some are back ins. The utility pole is far but if we pulled up, we'd be too close to the road. The road inside campground is very bumpy. Only one bathhouse, not convenient for everyone. Port a potties around though. The sites are long but neighbors are close by. Fire rings & picnic table. Playground & volleyball net. Hiking, biking trails. OTA TV local channels. Dump site use inconvenient. We camped at Brunswick Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The 3/4 mile long dirt, pothole, muddy road to the park seemed much longer. The constant fear that an RV might come from the other direction made it worse. We knew there was no sewer but I was very dissatisfied to find the dump station is at the end of a dead-end road with no place to turn around with any decent sized rig. One night and out of here. We do have a 40ft fifth wheel and the "D" section pull-through was plenty long enough and did have 50 amp. With all the rain it was very mushy so I popped the truck in 4WD to make sure I didn't get stuck. Would not stay here again. We camped at Brunswick Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Come here once or twice a year. Nice little campground, usually pretty quiet besides trains . Focus on the river with kayaking and tubing Small basketball court and playground .Pull through sites plenty long enough for 40 ' travel trailer and truck. Don't agree with earlier statement about dump station, there is a turn around right at dump station but could be confusing if you don't take a second to look at it. Main the road is historical so it can't be paved only maintained. Would recommend to friends. We camped at Brunswick Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

There are no sewer hookups at this campground. There is a single dump station. The campground's website boasts that it is a "full service" campground, and nowhere does it say that there are no sewer hookups. I found this deceptive.

It's reasonable value based on the area, but sky-high if you're a fulltimer with the ability to pick-and-choose your destinations. We stayed one week just because we wanted to see DC. I can't imagine staying here otherwise.

We had a hard time getting our 35' travel trailer into the most spacious site in the campground. We camped at Brunswick Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Just spent 5 days at the Brunswick campground and had a wonderful experience. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean restrooms (newly painted) and right on the C&O Canal Bike Trail, which is why we were there anyway. PLUS they had dry wood for campfires and they'll even deliver to your site.

Are trains running close by? Yes! Didn't bother our party of three a bit. We stayed in a pop-up and had water and electric for about $45/night. Reasonable for the area!

Will we return? Absolutely!!! We camped at Brunswick Family Campground in a Tent Trailer.

This campground has about 100 sites. About half of these are RV sites. My site had 20/30 amp service. Their web site said that they also have some 50 amp sites. The roads are gravel. My site, though level, was grass only. The main activities available here are fishing, hiking, biking, boating, rafting and tubing. This campground appears to be run by a local outfitter. The bath house was clean. They have handicapped facilities. In order to get to this campground one has to drive .75 miles along the C&O Canal Towpath. It is narrow, so if another vehicle comes along from the opposite direction, some compromising is in order. There is an active train track just beyond the towpath, so bring ear plugs. And the campsite URL is potomacrivercampground.com, which is a bit confusing. My Dish Tailgater worked fine and Verizon cell service had two bars. This is a nice campground for a quick getaway trip. I will return here. We camped at Brunswick Family Campground in a Motorhome.

We arrived in Brunswick and it was necessary to go over 2 railroad tracks and down a mile long road along the river to get to the campground. This road and the roads within the park are "horrible". It was like a washboard and had numerous potholes all along it. The park host was out somewhere in the park so we had to track him down. Sites were not level at all and we encountered more potholes getting to them. I would not recommend this campground to anyone. We camped at Brunswick Family Campground in a Motorhome.

I want badly to be able to give a higher rating because overall we really enjoyed our time here this weekend; however, there were just a couple of points to bring down the score. First, the good stuff: this place is perfect for those who really love the outdoors. Although we weren't sitting right on the river, we were perfectly close enough in our C6 campsite. There were little trails down through the woods (between 20 and 50 yards) to the river where you could fish or put in a kayak or canoe. Our site had water and electric although the hook-up was on the 'wrong' side, so bring an extension cord. Our daughter loved riding her bike along the quiet 'streets' of the campground - very level. There is a proper boat ramp for real boaters and a playground for the kids. They were just putting on the finishing touches to the neat store (in a bus!), which had ice cream and camp necessities. My husband claims the bathroom had the biggest, hottest campground shower he's ever had - newly renovated and painted. (I used our camper's, so I can't tell you about the ladies'.) OK - so, the negatives: by far the worst is the noise of the railroad and yard at night - I usually have a tolerance for these kinds of things, but in the dead of the night, that train horn, rail crossing bell, and other loud yard work woke us up multiple times. I'm not sure that earplugs or the sound of AC would have helped me, but my husband swears he'll prepare for next time and be fine. Also, there is a LOT of mud throughout the campground. Be sure to bring shoes that you can easily take off at the entrance of your tent/camper. And, lastly, if you are depending on the bath-house and are on the "A" side of the camp, be prepared for a walk or a short drive. I think the new management should consider investing in another bath-house on the other side. Other than that, I think we will return in the summer to tube from the 17 bridge down to the camp and to get some river fishing in! We camped at Brunswick Family Campground in a Tent Trailer.

This was a great park. Getting there you travel over 2 railroad tracks and a narrow road along the river, which was a little narrow but wide enough for our motorhome and still had enough space for bicyclists that passed. We camped in a site overlooking the Potomac River and enjoyed it immensely. Shade trees in Section A runs along the exterior of the park so if you want shade, ask for it The management has recently changed and the park is now much cleaner and more well kept than before. We would definitely camp here again. We camped at Brunswick Family Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a riverside park. Most lots are back in grass. Two smaller loops are asphalt and gravel. 30 amp electric/ no on site sewer is typical. You must cross a somewhat humped railroad track and then traverse a 3/4 mile single lane gravel road (the old canal tow path), to access this campground. Doable with a class A but not ideal. Note that from route 340 you traverse four newer size roundabouts accessing town. This was not designed for large RVs but traffic was light. This is a flood plain and the park is just below flood stage of 15'. When we arrived the river was at 5'. We left at 11' and the next night the river crested at 20'. Be aware that the city's policy is not to refund your money if you pay and leave early. Nice enough semi-primitive campground but I don't think I would go back. Site flooded multiple times in the last 6 month and we didn't get the warm and cozy feeling you would be advised to vacate until you were at crisis stage. Excellent weekend. We are new at this, the manager and his staff were very helpful and friendly, and ALWAYS available! It seems that manager just waited outside the office all weekend in case anyone needed him. Restrooms/ showers were fairly clean, the ladies told me theirs was excellent. I have no regrets or complaints and would recommend this campground to anyone. We camped at Brunswick Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Wow! Has this campground had a face lift! Our family has been coming to Brunswick Campground for years, and for the last few it just went downhill. The bathrooms were nasty, there wasn't ever anyone at the office, drunks all over the place, and I could go on and on. This year they are under new management and they have been so helpful. The grounds are very attractive and landscaped, the bathrooms (wow!) how clean - hot showers. The only drawback is this one permanent trailer. Very dumpy looking, junk all around it - constant traffic in and out - you would think after as much work that apparently has been done to spruce up the place they would finish the job and get rid of that occupant. We camped at Brunswick Family Campground in a Motorhome.
