Overall Rating:

Rate of $63.00 per night is with Good Sam discount for back-in with full hook ups. This is one of the most professionally run parks we have stayed in. Although the rate is outside our budget and higher than our comfort zone, the management invests the money back into the staff and facility. The previous reviews are accurate. This is a controlled access park. The park has a very inviting and appealing appearance. The staff, and there are many, are all very friendly and very willing to help and accommodate. I'll not repeat previous posted comments but will suggest that if you select this park to give serious consideration to their guided bus tour (not a Grey Line Tour) of DC at night. This exceeded our expectation, and in our opinion, was well worth the $50.00. Considering all the factors, location, appearance, staff and amenities this may be one of the few parks worth this price. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to the area. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Motorhome.

The Cherry Hill Park night tour has been such a good success, we're running it into November and possibly even through the winter! Thanks so much for staying with us, and we look forward to seeing you again next time you're in town.

I can't say enough good things about this park. It was one of the nicest RV parks we've ever stayed in. Every convenience you can think of. We stayed for several days while visiting the monuments and museums in Washington. The staff are very professional and friendly. There is a 4:00 sightseeing meeting on weekdays that is informative about what to see and do in the area. Local buses run every few minutes and stop in the park to transport you to the train station - takes you to downtown Washington in only a few minutes. We also took a night tour of the city that was arranged by the park. Our site was level and had good cable and wifi. Bath houses (very nice and clean) are located throughout the park and there were plenty of trash containers. Another nice thing is that they don't charge you if you have to check out early as other parks will do. This is the closest park to the D.C. area and I recommend it to anyone. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Can't imagine a better place to stay if you're visiting the D.C. area. The fact that a bus leaves the campground every half hour and takes you to the metro station means you can be in the center of Washington in about 45 minutes. The sites are level and well maintained. Wi-fi is very good and the staff are extremely friendly and most informative about seeing the sights in the area. No matter what you're camping in, this place has a site for you. When you check in they request you add a pre-payment of $50 toward charges in their store and cafe. This is very handy since both are very good. One very nice touch is that they have daily papers available in the store each morning. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Motorhome.

We're so happy you enjoyed your stay with us! We absolutely recommend enabling your account for charging to site - it's even better than a pre-payment, because if you don't choose to spend the money, it's never even charged to your account. Thanks very much for staying with us and for sharing this informative review! We'd love to see you again any time!

We stayed here in a 40' MH for 9 days seeing the sites of Washington DC. Excellent park, from all of the staff to the grounds. Lots of amenities, but the best was the transportation they arrange to get you on tours you want to go on and feel safe. They are extremely accommodating about any changes you want to make, be it tours, extend your stay, leave early, etc. Our originally assigned site we felt was a little too small so called them from in front of the site and they gave us another one 2 spaces over that worked & even brought all new tags we needed to get in & out of the park over to us. For such a large park we found it to be very clean and relatively quiet. And they have trash receptacles everywhere so it made it easy to get rid of trash. If you want to see DC this is the park to choose! We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Motorhome.

This is THE park to use while touring DC. Very large park. Very helpful staff with lots of activities in the park. Metro bus comes right to the park. Only con to this park is that it is right next to the beltway. Loud motors and jake brakes. Just turn up the heat or air and drown it out. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed for 5 nights here and used this campground as a base for visiting in the DC area. Cherry Hill is convenient to the Metro. While you can take the bus from the campground to the Metro, we drove there and parked the car (and got senior rates). Wifi and cable are both great here. The sites are clean, and a bit small. I'd definitely stay here again. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Motorhome.

Pricey. Very convenient to DC and they are very helpful in assisting you to navigate there. Lots for the kiddos. Great pool, movies, cafe, etc. Everything neat and clean. Would have given it a 10, but LOTS of noise from XPressway at our site and lady at check-in argued with us when we asked for an East facing site. (There were lots of empty sites.) We opted for a slightly cheaper back-in site, most pull thrus have patio. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Motorhome.

I cannot say enough about the staff here. As other reviewers mentioned, the staff here is friendly, extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The park holds a 'tours' seminar every afternoon at 4:00 that's very informative. The metro bus picks up at the park several times a day and takes you to the metro rail system which was very convenient. They have a large laundry facility, clean showers and bathrooms and a great little cafe/grill which offers good food at very reasonable prices. There are so many activities for people with kiddos - splash pads, two pools, miniature golf, playgrounds & tractor rides. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Motorhome.

In over 3 decades of RVing, this is the best run, most efficient RV resort we have stayed in. If you aren't in a premium site, you can easily extend your stay (we did, twice) with no fuss. The sites are gravel, with good utilities. All the amenities you'd expect in a first class RV park, PLUS staff who can tell you how to get the most out of your time getting to and exploring around Washington DC and the area.

The park has a daily 4:00 "briefing" that is well worth attending. They will tell you how to use the public transportation (subway and bus - and it was great!). Book the evening trip on their bus (also available through Gray Line, but their bus has a guide who gets off the bus with you) into the highlights of DC.

I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Motorhome.

Our 2nd stay here, 1st time was in 2011. The park has vastly improved since then. All the roads are paved, sites are crushed stone that's well packed. Plenty room for our awning and shade drop. By far the most trash cans and doggy poop bag stations of any park we've ever stayed at. Park was VERY clean, employees making multiple trips daily picking up the recycling and checking the trash cans. Pools are great, wish they had an adult only pool, but, that's just me. The store is very well stocked with most everything you might need. The employees in the store are very knowledge and polite. The information they give you about the Metro and how to get into D.C. is spot on. There is road noise at probably every site. What was once a small road is now a 4 lane in both directions loop. It wasn't obnoxious and the trees buffer it about as well as anything would. Verizon Jetpack & AT&T phones had no problems and the park wifi was great as well. No complaints at all about this park. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you're craving good microbrews and burger's, check out Franklin's in Hyattsville. Well worth the 5 mile drive. The General Store there is also packed with their brews, a great assortment of other beers, a large wine selection, large candy selection and the most games I've ever seen. Remember to pay for your parking space though.

Have stayed here many times over the years. The park has made many changes and in all cases are improvements-and it was good from beginning. Easy to drive, and LEVEL sites, obvious hook-ups make that part easy. Registration is easy, friendly and informative. Want to sightsee?..they are anxious to help with metro or driving maps and suggestions. They cover everything about the park at that time also plus maps of park amenities that we find helpful.

If no RV, check out cabins. Large, with microwave and stove our daughters' family of five had plenty of space. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great CG to visit the Capitol. Check-in is efficient and friendly with escort to site. Paved roads, gravel level site(#53) back-in FHU. Utilities all worked well. Beautiful pool and great onsite restaurant-good food/reasonable prices. A lot of space to walk dog and jog. Numerous comfort stations located around CG (did not use). Twenty-four security gate with electronic key pass to access. On-site bus station. Easy 15min drive to College Park Metro station. All day garage parking weekdays is $5.10, free on weekends. You can buy you Metro card in CG and load up amount at Metro machines. Marketplace grocery nearby and several restaurants. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Motorhome.

This is the best campground reasonably close to Washington DC. This is a large and busy campground with many amenities - pools, splash pad, playgrounds, cafe, TV lounge, game room, etc. Roads are paved, narrow and sites gravel with a little grass. Each site has picnic table and fire ring, some premium sites have 2nd metal table. Most sites are level back ins with a few pull throughs. Sites are very close together but many have some woods behind them. Fairly easy access to/from I-95/495. There is bus service from the campground to College Park Metro station but I preferred to drive the 4 miles. From the Metro station the ride to the Mall is 25 minutes. I liked that the staff gives you good instruction materials about getting to and around Washington at check in. I could get satellite from site 1307 but many sites could not. Sites are not that long but I could just fit my 45 ft MH with my jeep parked perpendicular on the side of the road. There is security gate and guard manned most of the time. Wifi was Ok most of the time but slow. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Motorhome.

Good Sam discount for three nights for a premium, FHU, 50amp, gravel site with a brick patio area. We had good Verizon cell/Internet reception and good DishTV satellite reception.
