Overall Rating:

We stayed at this park in a 30' Travel Trailer. The site was a little narrow, but very level and plenty long for our truck and trailer. We have stayed here a few times before and enjoy the convenient location. We had good cell phone coverage and OTA TV. Dump station has a fairly tight turn. The park is very close to shopping (Walmart and others about a mile away) and good places to eat in Denton. They have done some recent upgrades to the restrooms and they were very nice. We camped at Martinak State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

We were at Martinak during the annual Summerfest extravaganza the 3rd weekend in August, so there was a ton of activity in historic downtown Denton. There is only one section of the park (Loop B) that has electric (30 amp). No on-site water or sewer but there are spigots available on the loop to fill fresh water tanks, and there is a dump station. Sites near us were level. Most sites are wooded. Water access to the Choptank River from a convenient boat ramp. Canoe rentals are available at the park. Bath houses were super clean. The rate shown is for a senior Maryland park discount Sunday-Thursday. Weekend rate is 25.00. We camped at Martinak State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Summerfest was terrific! Live music, food, crafts, exhibits, antique and classic cars, fireworks, something for everyone! Go to the Irish Pub or Harry's on Market Street for a great meal. Rent a canoe for a couple hours of fun on the Choptank River. You can even get a great haircut at Magic Mirror, only about a half mile from the park.

Overall Rating:

Stayed at Martinak and did bicycling in the beautiful surrounding area. Nearly all the sites in the electric loop (loop B) were full, but the campground was quiet. Very few of the primitive sites in loop A were occupied. There are water spigots throughout each loop; we stopped at one to fill our water tank. Bringing outside firewood into the park is prohibited, but you can purchased a crate for $4. There is a boat ramp and RV dump station. We camped at Martinak State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful park. I was there in July, and there were just 3 of us in the whole campground! Beautiful place to walk, very tidy and neat, level sites with everything you need, rangers were wonderful, can't say enough nice things about this place. We camped at Martinak State Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for two nights in November. The park is nice, although the sites were a little closer than I have camped in at other MD State parks. There is an amphitheater on the water, a nature center, and spots along the riverbank provide seats and cover from the sun while fishing--nice. The park staff were extremely friendly and helpful. You can really get your daily steps in by walking throughout the grounds, exploring.

Unfortunately, the only dump station was not working and campers had to go to Tuckahoe to dump tanks. But, I guess that could happen anywhere and Tuckahoe was on my way home, so it was not much of an inconvenience.

I would stay at Martinak Park again. We camped at Martinak State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are strip malls on the way to the campground, including Walmart. Lots of places to eat and a couple of miles past the campground on Rt 404 is Vanderwende Farm Creamery, where you can buy homemade ice cream.

Overall Rating:

Martinak has been our first stop after storage & last stop before storage for a number of years which means at least 4 visits a year. Always in the power loop. Never been fussy about a particular site. All are good. Most long enough for our 36' RV. All level or close to it. All back ins. Most easy to get into. A big box market & Wally are minutes away but you would not know it from inside the park. Very quiet. A real jewel if you want to be away from it all but not far from anything that might be needed. The only thing missing is water at the site but there are 3 water sources on the loop. Rate quoted is for the MD seniors discount. We camped at Martinak State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

103 acre park next to town of Denton. Main activities are boating and a nice amphitheater on the water. Boat ramp to small creek which leads to Choptank river. Nice small park for short stays. And yes you can bike to the Walmart Super Center! How many campgrounds can you do that? Ha! Halfway across Delmarva for you western shore folks. All wooded sites and surprisingly rural for being so close to town. We camped at Martinak State Park in a Motorhome.
