This was our first and last time camping at Merry Meadows. We were very excited to camp here because of all the amenities listed and beautiful atmosphere. The first day we arrived (Monday) the pool and mini golf were closed. The second day we stopped in and spoke with the guy working at the snack shack, which is where you show your pool pass and purchase the mini golf. We wanted to make sure it was open, etc. We changed into swimsuits and 10 minutes later were told they were closing the pool, mini golf and snack shack early because not a lot of people have been so far (pool hours are 12-8 pm). We went at 3 pm. The arcade was also closed. The front office and store closed at 1:00 pm.

We were unable to use the amenities we would have liked to use and why we chose Merry Meadows. We also have young children and found out that they also are not allowed to use floaties in the pool which is absurd. I understand not allowing rafts, etc., but not allowing floaties or life jackets for children who can't swim is cruel and ridiculous. You could not pay me to camp here again. It was a waste of our money. We camped at Merry Meadows Recreation Farm (formerly Morris Meadows) in a Travel Trailer.

The park was clean and quiet. We are from Florida and have traveled for 3 summers. We have covered almost every state. This is the first camp site we had to pay extra to have a visitor, and more to use the pool. Everything for the kids seemed to be closed. We camped at Merry Meadows Recreation Farm (formerly Morris Meadows) in a Motorhome.

UNBELIEVABLE # of rules and regulations. Our daughter and her husband brought us dinner @ 6pm in the rain and were charged $10 visitor fee plus $20 deposit on a car pass! "There are NO exceptions to our visitor policy!!" All activities with the exception of the pool (12-8 except when they close it early) are an additional charge. Activities are limited to Friday evening and Saturday. Church service on Sunday. TV cable service was poor. We camped at Merry Meadows Recreation Farm (formerly Morris Meadows) in a Fifth Wheel.

One thing we noticed is that the interior roads were well maintained, but could be a bit wider. Also, the campground cable TV reception was "snowy" at best and channels would fade in and out, don't know if it just our site or park-wide. One final note, the fire-rings are concrete and 2 ft. tall making it difficult to get a fire going and maintaining it. We camped at Merry Meadows Recreation Farm (formerly Morris Meadows) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The closest shopping area was located in Shrewsbury Pa. about 20 min. north. The camp store was stocked for "emergency" needed items. Well maintained "Mini" museum of farm implements and railroad items.

We wanted a place to take our grandchildren/toddlers for the camping experience. They loved the splash pools! The campground office worked with us on finding the right spot. The site was clean and somewhat private. Very spacious. There was a problem with the water, but they repaired it asap and even brought out all new stone so the site wouldn't be wet. We enjoyed the fish pond. There also was an outside movie that was fun. We would camp here again..it was gated which was nice for security. We were permitted two dogs. We did need records of shots and license. We camped at Merry Meadows Recreation Farm (formerly Morris Meadows) in a Motorhome.

The 800 telephone number may not work - was told they are changing telephone service providers - use 410-357-4088. Have stayed here many times over the years and park continues to be kept clean and run well. Water pressure is and has always been adequate if low - 30lbs. My overall experience of the this campground. Well, to start off it took 2 hours for my self and friends to make 4 reservations over the phone. They had one person working in the office and when someone would come in to the office they would lay the phone down and help that person. Most of the time it was seasonal people and you could hear them having a conversation and forget I was on the phone. When we arrived, again one person in the office, on a Friday checking people in. The campground itself was well kept and most other campers we meet we very nice. It is a very hilly campground so if you have an issue with walking not a good place. Tried out the snack bar for lunch and a good meal for a snack bar. Was not allowed to take our golf cart to the campground however, the seasonal sites are allowed to have golf carts. What is the difference? Our fire ring and friends of ours were not usable due to the location of where we had to place our RV on the site for the utility hookups. Ours was very close to the camper and just at the edge of our awning. Our friends fire ring ended up under their awning. When we left we turned in our car pass and gate pass. The employee did say thank you but that was it. Not have a safe travel home and we hope to see you again. Not sure if I will go back. Again, it is a nice looking campground but it needs some common sense things taken care of. We camped at Merry Meadows Recreation Farm (formerly Morris Meadows) in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites are gravel and level. Sites in the "P" block are long pull throughs with an amazing panoramic views. The sites are exposed to the elements and with temperatures nearing one hundred, the AC had difficulty in keeping up. More sites back in the trees reserved for weekenders. Staff was pleasant and efficient who knew the rule book and what rules. We know campgrounds have to have rules, but two full pages?

The gate security system is infuriating. One car out same car back in. My tow was being driven to our next destination so I walked back through the gate swiping my card which would allow me out the following morning with the RV. Didn't work: you have to be in a car to enter/exit!! Lesson: don't try and fool the system. We camped at Merry Meadows Recreation Farm (formerly Morris Meadows) in a Motorhome.

Rules. Rules. Rules. So many rules. And they nickel & dime you for everything. The pull throughs in section F were long. Very long. They could have fit at least two big rigs. The sites were about 80-100 feet long and not very wide at all. They should spray for ants and bugs. Even in a wide open section with no trees at all and a campfire going there were just too many ants. We camped at Merry Meadows Recreation Farm (formerly Morris Meadows) in a Travel Trailer.

Park was very quiet. The terraced lots were very nice; however, being forced to pay extra for a lot that had a deck and a pick-nic table when we did not need one and being told there was no sites without decks available for us was a lie. There are sites available that have no decks. there was too many rules that were all No This, No That, etc. Get over it people. The best part of the whole stay was the nice even long pull throughs. I must say the lawn needed to be mowed. I only saw one employee down here at the end of the park where we were during a two day stay. The lady at the office was a bit rude when she made it clear she closed the office straight up 5:00pm. arriving late due to traffic tie ups we called her she said our pass would be in the mailbox..... awwww wasn't that nice. other people in the park were not very friendly. Getting here was a bit of a trick with all the hills and rough to handle curves with a 31 ft RV and a 20 ft trailer in tow. And the deposits for everything ...come on Stop trying to nickel and dime everyone. To charge a guest to come visit me while I'm in town is not good! I will not be back in this park, nor will I recomend it to my traveling friends!!!!! We camped at Merry Meadows Recreation Farm (formerly Morris Meadows) in a Motorhome.

Stayed here off-season to visit friends. Beautiful view from The Terrace, also excellent satellite reception. Great walking trails, level pull-through sites, friendly staff. Very quiet park (although it might be louder when everyone is "home" in the summer). We would definitely stay here again! We stayed in the campground for four nights. We have a 40 ft. RV with a tow. The campground has many trees making the drive a bit tight but manageable - we took the car off before going to our site. We had a shaded pull through that was quite nice. There are many shaded spots in the campground but there is also a large open area with drive throughs that are tiered. Plenty of room to pull through with a tow. Staff and campers were friendly. We would stay here again. We camped at Merry Meadows Recreation Farm (formerly Morris Meadows) in a Motorhome.

The campground is now called Merry Meadows, they had to change the name when Mr. Morris retired and his daughter took over. We enjoy this campground very much, it is quiet and peaceful, even though it is close to Baltimore and to York. They have many activities for children, and weekly "special" activities for both adults and children. I see that there have been complaints about rules, we do not agree. The rules make for a safe and comfortable stay here. My only complaint is about the wifi, which is extremely slow at times, I'm hoping they upgrade their service sometime soon. This is a very nice, family friendly campground. There are many things to do, including a driving range. Many seasonal campers. Some transient sites are in the woods, but most are out in a field, on a hill and very narrow. Not a great choice for big rigs. A good location for sight seeing in nearby Amish country. Good camp store, and an on site restaurant/snack bar. We had a good time visiting the area. We camped at Merry Meadows Recreation Farm (formerly Morris Meadows) in a Motorhome.

This campground is 12 miles from home & we have camped here numerous times in the last 10 years. At least one other time on a holiday weekend, but never had visitors. Therefore, we had no knowledge of the visitor or card key deposit amounts & could find no info on website. Well all visitor rates are doubled for a holiday weekends, day or overnight. I guess this is to discourage visitors or make more money, you decide. The answer from the office staff was "it has always been that way". This seems contradictory to a holiday/family or friends get together, even for a few hours, just for lunch. The pool was very cloudy, the snack-bar was understaffed. You enter the pool through the snack-bar & the only food allowed inside the pool area is from the snack-bar. The driving range is now reduced, no drivers to potentially send the ball over the fence to the adjoining property, the Morris Museum. Of course, very few spots had tees, most were missing or broken. Some of the roads are narrow & needed potholes repaired, The roads can be navigated slowly & they are one way, just look out for the seasonal chipmunks in their golf carts. No credit cards for reservations, cash or check only. I am not likely to return, even though it is the closest campsite to home. We camped at Merry Meadows Recreation Farm (formerly Morris Meadows) in a Travel Trailer.
