Resident sheep chews everyone's water lines, vehicles, campers, stuff outside. Also alot of junked out campers around that are a big eyesore. Too bad, used to be beautiful down by water but now trashy. - Full timers X 2
May 2008 - $37.00
the electric is very outdated. we lost electric each day and were told to turn off the ac units to save the boxes. the sites are not marked and there is not water and electric to each site you must share with others and if you do not have enough cords oh well. there is no camp store and the costs jump up after 2 persons and yo have other fees as well on arrival. we were disappointed in the depth of the water 3 - 5 feet only and the docks were always taken and there is no safe area for the kids to play oe swim. if you are looking - pass this one up!! - mountainbreeze
Aug 2006 - $35.00
Excellent campground. There are beautiful sites by the water. People are very friendly. I was totally satisfied camping there. I will return. - dmb921
Oct 2017 - $40.00
The 17 site daily campground is basically a sandy field alongside the beach. The sites 20-25 feet wide are separated by electric pedestals. Some sites have trees along side the beach so those sites get some shade. Tables and fire rings are also lined up along the beach. Sites are slightly messy. No big debris but lots of cigarette butts, bits of paper and plastic, plastic bottles, etc. The County does rake the beach. For a County as prosperous as Calvert they should do better. - RobertW
Aug 2016 - $40.00
-Personal beach area
-Good power and water
-Nice warm water
-Boat and paddle board rental on site
-2 security gates
-Coincidentally spot 16 needs maintenance but we were given boards and assistance to get settled into the site
My family absolutely loved this campground! This was our first time staying at a public operated campground so some things took some getting used to. We were so pleased with the campground we are contemplating getting a seasonal site next year. We've been all the way to the Keys and haven't had as good of an experience as we had here.... - On_my_whey

Great beach front camping on the Chesapeake Bay. Campsites are very sandy (this is a beach remember) and have good 50 Amp power and water at each site. No sewer or dump station, just a honey wagon service twice a week. The weekends are very busy here as the location is so great.
Each campsite has a campfire ring on the beach behind the campsite. A great place to have a beach campfire. Swim, wade, boat right from the beach behind the campsite. The campsites are packed full on weekends as is the nearby day-use area. During the week it is much less crowded. There is a pretty big marina right next door also.
The sites are nice and long but fairly narrow. The beach area behind the campsites is a nice large shared use area for campers only. It is a nice sized beach that provides lots of room for the campers to spread out on right behind your campsite.
Reservations are by telephone only. This is a County Park run by Calvert County, Maryland. - eb145
Oct 2016 - $26.00
Nice, small, and quiet campground. The sites are well-shaded and trees separate the sites, providing some privacy. My motorhome is less than 25', so I have no problems maneuvering into any of the sites; however, some larger than 35' might have issues, as not all sites can accommodate large rigs. Some sites have electric, none have water, but water spigots are placed generously throughout the campground. There are also fire rings and picnic tables on the sites.
The bathhouse is clean and has showers.
There are trails for walking and horseback riding and a lake for fresh water fishing.
I camp at Cedarville when I need a break and don't want to travel far from home. - DestinyBoundRV
Oct 2016 - $17.00
Point lost for site selection method. Only a few sites suitable for longer rigs but no attempt by park to assign rigs to size appropriate sites. A class B or tent can fit into any site. A larger rig can only fit into larger sites. No issue for us since we were off weekend & at end of season. There was a teardrop trailer in an extra long site nearby. Had a 40' rig come in the park would have lost the revenue since the teardrop had the only site suitable for a big rig. Feels very remote & quiet. Only noise is distant Andrews AFB air traffic. - Veebyes
May 2013 - $30.00
This campground is very nice with lots of trails, a lake, and an equestrian loop. Sites are spacious and shaded. Very close to DC. We would camp here again. - rebcon

Oct 2017 - $30.00
The base is great. Easy on/off from the road and walkable/bikeable to town of Solomons with the tiki bar and sergeants bbq. On base there were mwr events for Halloween and there looks like lots of water activity at the multiple pools and beach. For today's concerns, there was WiFi everywhere which supports Amazon fire stick and laptop. We will return!! - Jwhenderson
Jun 2017 - $41.00
This is on a military recreation center so you will have to have authorized access for this base. Overall the park and facilities are in good order. However, there are several long term campers that have spots that are in disrepair. The site around there camper has very tall grass, all of their belonging lying about and is generally an eye sore. I have been here several times and this has always been the case. I have no problem with long term camping, but make them keep their site presentable. The camper close to us was unoccupied except when they stopped by to feed the dogs that were living in it. If you find a spot away from these areas it is a nice place for a visit. There is a nice pool and a beach along the river, driving range, fishing pier (needs repair), and planned activities. - JFB1
May 2017 - $30.00
We ended up at this park with friends of ours who had access as military. Roads are quite narrow, the site we had was hard to get our 41' 5th wheel in, and the craziest thing was the sewer connection was under the middle of the trailer!! as well I could not back in as the water and electrical was on the wrong side!! Grass was very long, looks like it hadn't been cut yet this year. Not impressed. - North America in 90 days
Jul 2017 - $25.00
Absolutely the worst camping experience in over ten years of camping. Facilities are old, run-down and just plain nasty. The nice view of the Bay was about the only positive on my visit. The "last straw" was the owner burning a huge pile of garbage a short distance from my campsite. - WNThee
Mar 2007 - $19.00
Great location on the Bay. Good store, game room, laundry, clean bathrooms, nice boat launch, slips - all about fishing. Many seasonal sites, allowing additions (porches). Transient sites are back ins, 30 amp with great view and bay breeze. Propane refill, marine gas. Off season when I was there, but entry road pot holes were being filled, and hurricane/storm erosion was being addressed. Great owners/staff. - PattieAM
May 2015 - $35.00
Friendly staff, but not really a place for someone just passing through. All but 8 sites are for seasonal campers. The overnight sites are grouped closely together on a grassy slope. We will not stay here again. - Dave51
Sep 2013 - $30.00
This is a great value, what you pay vs what you get. The owners were super nice, went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I believe all but 8 sites are for seasonal campers. The sites are back to back, grass sites between the bath house and pool. The 30 amp power was good, but did not need to run the a/c. The bath house wasn't great, but was clean. This was an amazingly friendly group of people, made us feel very welcome. I would stay here again, great waterfront location, great kayaking nearby! - SteveandAnn
Jul 2013 - $30.00
When this park is empty, it looks like little more than an open field, not very inviting. But, it does fill up on the weekends, and is a VERY friendly and kid-safe place. There is a down-home party atmosphere, so if you are looking for peace and quiet, this campground may not be the best fit. The pool is clean, the restrooms and showers are immaculate, and there is tons for the kids to do. We shared a power pedestal with other campers, but the 30amps was enough to power both of our AC units without a single problem. They do not have 50amp available. Wonderful church service on Sunday mornings at the pavilion. We will definitely camp here again as often as possible! - User3193
Jun 2016 - $55.00
Large park with a tremendous amount of permanent residents. Two loops in the A section with full hookups, B section has water/electric only, C and D are full hookups.
Staff is extremely nice as are the residents. The residents are contractors that come and go. Monthly rates are $550 plus electric.
There is a pool, playground, fishing pond (front of property), fishing lake (back of property), and some area trails.
All sites are back-in. - calewjohnson
May 2016 - $55.00
This park has a majority of permanent residents that keep their sites filled with clutter and dirty rigs. This certainly detracts from the overall appearance of the park.
We have now traveled over 23,000 miles and stayed in many, many RV Campgrounds....and this is BY FAR, one of the most expensive parks we have stayed in with very little amenities. Sites were NOT level and were merely grass sites, not even gravel. They had had a great deal of rain the prior two weeks, thus making things soggy and our stabilizers sank into the dirt/grass. The park did not provide even so much as a picnic table at our site, in addition to very, very poor working Wi-Fi/Internet and no cable, which meant no T.V. (there were no local channels). When my husband asked one of the staff about cable, he sarcastically said that "We could call ComCast to come out and hook us up", not very realistic for people only staying two nights.
Lastly, no where was I told ahead of time when I made my reservation that I needed cash or a debit Card, so I was not prepared for this. When checking in, they THEN proceeded to charge me an additional 3% fee for using a Visa Card. And that was on top of an extremely high nightly fee.
Bathroom facilities were dirty, "old" and locked at 8:00 p.m. each night. We definitely will not ever return to this location, and I will be sure to pass this information on to all our friends who are full-timers. - Suzanne R.S.
Apr 2016 - $45.00
Sites not occupied by long term campers, are mostly not level. Would not take reservations or assign site. Charges extra to use a credit card. No cable and absolutely no over the air reception. Only upside to this campground is the convenience to Pax River NAS. I will have to stay again, but not recommended. - SC RVer
Jul 2017 - $13.00
What a gem of a spot! It's smack dab in the middle of a D.C. suburb in Maryland AND it's 8 miles from the metro station AND...wait for it...it was $13/night!!!! (Senior citizen discount for the win!) - Boerne6
Jul 2017 - $13.00
We stayed here while touring Washington DC. It was a very convenient 15 minute drive to the Metro. This small, wooded campground has very few level sites, very poor power (we had to run our generator for A/C or our surge protector would turn off the power) and the bathrooms are clean but old & buggy. With the senior discount, it was still a good value & no reservations were needed. In spite of the power issues would stay here again if touring D.C. - June & Joe
Apr 2017 - $13.00
Do not take Credit Cards, wanted cash. Small Narrow roads with many tree branches that scraped along side our 37 foot 5th wheel. No sewer hook ups, but water and electric were good. 30 Amp only. Tiny sites, only decent level ones for our 37 footer were 24 and 25. Price is right, but the traffic and crummy roads in and out of here in Clinton MD, were not worth the trip. - Scuba Rock
May 2018 - $71.00
Price was for the off season. Swimming pool wasn't open in early May. Lots of other stuff for kids. New owners have filled in some ruts but speeds in most of this large park are governed by the remaining potholes. Utilities were fine. Satellite accessibility is not available at most sites because of extensive foliage. Annapolis is more than ten miles away but this is the only nonmilitary park in the area. - Mtmoi
Oct 2017 - $50.00
We stayed here for about 10 days as repairs were being made on our trailer. Two days we stayed in a cabin as the repairs couldn't be done on site. I have to say the staff went out of their way to help us out and worked with us giving us reduced rate on the cabin as well. Some of the best customer service we've ever had. That being said the park itself is in transition and we could tell they've been working hard. The park is mostly permanent to semi-permanent and unlike other reviewers we didn't see any separation. The space next to us was full of trash but we were told that the guy had issues and we didn't understand his situation. There were quite a few like that but others were neat and tidy. The location is good and very convenient to shopping, gas, etc. About 20 minutes to Metro station. - Catsinatrailer
Sep 2017 - $63.00
This was our only option, at the time, and while it was tolerable this is no resort. The lots were tight. I mean REALLY tight. They did give us a fire ring, but it honestly would have been dangerous, because closeness of the trailers. The pool area looked great, but it closed for the season the day after we arrived, so we didn't get to enjoy it. If you are just here to sleep, it will do. But this place no great shakes. - Farmlife4014
Jun 2018 - $50.00
People were extremely friendly. I was charged for 50 amp service but only had 30 amp. When I asked the front office they blew me off saying the service was just upgraded and there must be something wrong with my coach. An electrician finally came out and confirmed it was 30 amp service and the planned upgrade was not complete. I will never go back again. They can keep all of their confederate flags and 30 amp service. To add to insult I was parked in a swamp. What a bum weekend. - sum2do
May 2016 - $45.00
The park is overrun with golf carts driving around all day and night long - and to nowhere basically - they just drive around and around. There is no rules at this campground at all. The park is very big and mostly seasonals which have been here for a long time. They have a small beach area, and when I called, they told me they just got two truck loads of sand in just for the Memorial Day holiday. Which was true - and those 2 truck loads were dumped on the beach and stayed there the whole weekend. No one bothered to spread out the sand at all. The bathrooms were old, and didn't have any soap or towels in them. The golf carts are going all day and especially into the night, with young kids also driving them. They take over the camp roads, so there is not any area for people to walk. On our last night, we had a drunk back into one of the campers in our party. It hit us so hard, we thought the camper 'leg' had given out. We went to the store to get the 'security' which was a joke. He did come out to the site, but wasn't much he could do, and he was just very unsympathetic to the whole situation, and was like "yeah, we know people drive around drunk", and they don't care. Luckily no one got hurt, but with no rules at all, something unfortunate will happen to someone. The dump station was also not working as we were trying to leave, they supposedly had another one, but when we called the office/store, whomever answered had no clue to where it was. We left and went to another campground near our home to dump. Very disappointed in this place, and we will not be back. We stayed in sites 151, 152, and 153. They were OK size, 50 amp, w/e only. They also do not have any fire rings at the site. A new picnic table, though. The sites were grass/dirt sites. - Camper_Girl
Sep 2013 - $35.00
Park is an old one. Has some pretty lousy looking older metal trailers with a lot of mildew on them which could easily be cleaned up. Parked me next to a 1950s model GMC bus with a shed attached which was falling apart and a tree had grown up through the bumper long ago. Park is very clean and people were friendly and helpful, being good neighbors. Some have decks and invite you over to visit. I had some trouble and one longterm came to help. Great guy, would go back again. Offers boat storage also with a boat ramp and tiny cafe with good hamburgers and corn nuggets, ice, propane and some parts. - Passin Thru
