Stayed a week and really enjoyed our deluxe spacious pull through campsite with concrete patio, table/chairs, grill and shade. Park is in an area with many nearby Interstate and four lane highways with limited access making it complicated to get to/from but GPS worked fine. Located about 20-30 minutes to Annapolis and 40-60 minutes to Washington or Baltimore. Park has many trees for shade and many sites can access satellite (be sure to ask if you need this when making reservation). Did not use but park has pool, playground, dog park, large inflated jumping pillow, fee based shuttle service. Roads and pad are level gravel in pull through area. Space between sites are grass and decent width between rigs and many are spacious for KOA standards (this is more upscale KOA Holiday than your average KOA). Park was very clean. They charge $10 to reserve a specific site. We camped at Washington DC / Capitol KOA in a Motorhome.

Staff was very helpful and took us to our site. We stayed 7 nights and drove to New Carrolton station and caught the metro downtown Washington most days so never used any other facilities. Never used their shuttle. Quite east to do. Wifi was typical some times there but mostly not. No cable. We camped at Washington DC / Capitol KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The old town trolley would be good if you rode the circle first before getting off otherwise catch the meteo and and a taxi. Arrington Cemetery is easy by metro. The Chesepiooc Real Ale is the closest Brewery. Annapolis is lovely. All the Smithsonian are free. A week here was not enough time. When to a concert at the Merryweather Post Pavilion so check it out for who in performing. Great free parking comes with ticket. Arrive early and have dinner at The Curred within walking distance.

Arrived at the campground, staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our site escort took us into the site next to ours which was odd and to boot the site numbers are on your neighbors tower, not yours which amplified the confusion. We had to back up with car in tow. That night our friends were having power problems at their site, when their 2nd AC would turn on it would drop voltage and shut off. The following AM we began to experience electrical problems with the tower. Low voltage concern also as our friends. The office sent staff over to look at the tower and tell me that I have to understand that the campground is busy there is a lot of RV's pulling power and this sort of stuff can happen, HUH, you offer 50 AMP service, I paid for it and you cannot supply it? They then told me it was our motorhome, not their tower. After the manager came over and began to dig deeper we had a breaker problem, they corrected it (2 hours has passed now) we were all fixed up, not after it burned out my Portable Progressive EMS unit. So I had to run to a local RV dealer and spend $442.00 on a replacement. Us and the two other families that experienced the same problems will not be back. When a campground risks damaging your equipment its just not worth the risk. We camped at Washington DC / Capitol KOA in a Motorhome.

This is one of those really big, full service KOA parks. Uncomfortably big for us, but it has all the amenities you might like. Our utilities, wifi, satellite and cell coverage all worked well. Sites were gravel and level. Neighbors were closer than we prefer, but we had no problems pulling into our site; they have pull-thrus and back-ins. Our complaints: 1) GPS and map instructions are fine, but you still have to make too many twists and turns to get to the park; we were annoyed and ready to leave after two days. 2) Too darned expensive --- there aren't that many places to stay in the area and they take full advantage of that with their pricing. We camped at Washington DC / Capitol KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Staff are very nice and helpful. Some sites near office have electric pedestal at exit end of site which could be a problem depending on your electric cord length. Avoid pull thru site #51....real bad leveling and utility hookup issues. Staff worked diligently to move us to a more desirable site. We camped at Washington DC / Capitol KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Very bad sites down back. Had to pull all the way to right side and up to front edge to even think about getting camper level. Which put our door at awful tree roots. Could barely walk with out tripping. Dirt.

Highway runs along side. Trees between but first day wind blew noise to park.

Stay up front. The office people are very nice, and they are big on Halloween. We camped at Washington DC / Capitol KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Friends that live nearby told us about this awesome park. Outstanding staff and the park is well maintained. It is a medium size KOA and with the holiday it was busy. The kids enjoyed the activities and liked the giant inflatable. Had an outdoor movie and played RV. Staff in the office told us about a special coming up in a few weeks. Stay one night get one free. A real value so we booked for that. It rained on and off so we didn't get to swim. Really enjoyed our stay because we were there with friends. It is a Great location in the woods but come out of the campground and your in close to grocery store and shopping centers. Downside was they had a flood. Asked in the office someone had flushed a depends pad down the toilet. Yuck. The store had water flowing in it from that. Double yuck. One thing missing was no cable tv. But they did have 20 channels local tv. A plus was WIFI was excellent for a KOA. We camped at Washington DC / Capitol KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Our grandkids live in the area and ask to come to the KOA where we stay when we come visit. They love the bouncing pillow and the swimming pool. Hint... go to the pool around 10 am til 1 pm. Its not crowded at all. The staff is so friendly here. Our grandchild wondered off and the staff stopped everything to look for her. They found her quickly. Phew! They have lots of activities for kids. Love the smores with oreos and the outdoor movie. The grounds are well kept and there are all kinds of improvements. Liked that they have patio furniture and chairs and a gas grill. These go fast. We book early each time we come. The workers were busy building a new community fireplace and seating benches around it. The General store was remodeled and was well stocked. One suggestion I would have is they need a enclosed building for activities and a place to get out of the heat or the rain. They do have a shuttle that goes to DC it seems popular as it was full everyday. During the day the park empties out because campers go to DC. So its nice and peaceful. The park does fill up every night though. We were talking to one of the locals who told us about the big Halloween at the KOA. They have pony rides at their festival and that's all my granddaughter had to hear. We camped at Washington DC / Capitol KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this campground a couple of times because of its proximity to Annapolis and WDC. This time we had a pull through patio site which was very nice. The concrete patio had a fire ring, propane grill, Adirondack chairs and a table. We didn't find it very difficult to get into the wooded park although you do have to make a few turns once off I97. Other sites have been unimaginative pull throughs. Satellite works fine. Wifi worked fine sometimes otherwise limped along. Cell service no issue. Electric was a little iffy. The temps were high and even with the park being not full we had to monitor the amperage even with 50 amps. Shuttle service into WDC and trolley tickets are a nice benefit. The Metro is not very far if you don't want to spend the entire day in DC. You can drive to the New Carrollton station and take the Metro into the city. We did leave a day early because it was so hot and they graciously refunded us for the day. Very nice. We camped at Washington DC / Capitol KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed here in 2012 for thirty days while waiting on housing to become available on Fort Meade which is located near by. The hosts could not have been nicer at that time, but it seems the park has new hosts/managers. We came back in 2017 and we're completely disappointed. Campground has pool, jumping pillow, dog park, outdoor chess and many activities planned for kids. Price is expensive for that reason, however the visitor policy is absolutely crazy! Each visitor is required to pay $5 per vehicle AND $5 per person including all kids. This equated to an additional $50 charge for a group of six friends to visit us and eat dinner with us (on top of the $86 price we paid for our site. When I complained to the elderly female worker behind the counter that the visitor policy was overly expensive she rudely stated, "that's our policy, if you don't like it you can leave or speak to the manager". I asked to speak to the manager and was told he would not be available until the next morning. We will not return. We camped at Washington DC / Capitol KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Nice woodsy park with the usual KOA services. Freeway noise is noticeable and detracts from the forest environment. No cable tv and satellite reception is possible only in the open pull through sites. Staff is friendly and helpful. We experienced drops in voltage at our site which resulted in the surge protector shutting down the ac. Park tech tried to fix it but couldn't stating they had no control over the power coming into the park and some coaches are more sensitive to voltage irregularities. We were forced to find another park. We were refunded the charges for the remainder of our stay with no resistance. The park provides shuttle service into DC - a nice service though a rough and noisy ride. We camped at Washington DC / Capitol KOA in a Motorhome.

Park is clean, but way to expensive for quality of site. $84 weekends, $79 weekdays. Additional charges include $5/pp for visit each day. (Would have cost me $250 extra if my grandkids visited me everyday I was there) $5 for extra auto. Also add charges to credit card without permission or notification. Campgound workers are quite unsociable. Maintenance Manager was very helpful as he could be but had to abide by KOA owner's rules for assisting campers. We stayed at this park four years ago and it appears little to no work was done to level the sites, particularly in the wooded area. The roads still need to have gravel added to minimize the large muddy puddles that form when it rains. The dog park was filthy and the office staff seemed uninterested in getting someone to clean it up. Prior to our KOA discount we paid $79 (weekday) and $84 (weekend). We were visiting family in Annapolis and unfortunately this was basically the only campground available. Poor road conditions in wooded area: dusty/muddy throughout campground.
