The campground is down a mildly windy road. Once in the staff is very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly despite the overwhelming rules they must go over when you arrive. A hair more strict seemingly than other Maryland State Parks we have been to in the past. We had no trouble with navigating the North East loop however many others did. Observed the pull through sites as tight by being narrow and short. Watched several campers over the course of our stay have a hard time getting their midsized campers parked on their site. We also observed many sites that required extensions for their sewer line. The utilities for our site was in front of the tongue and required an extension for our water. Our site was nicely shaded with some grass for pets. The drive way was on a hill able to accept two vehicles. The camping pad levels out and was enough room for the trailer. The site needed minimal leveling. The fire pit at this site has a grill, lantern holder and picnic table. On the loop there is a nice clean restroom/ shower house that is close and playground which is out of sight of this site. The main amenities are all a short drive away. The camp store was large with not too much different to offer. The lighthouse is a sure stop. There is no handicap parking and often times must wait to park due to the popularity. They have very limited hours for tours. The hike is level gravel with rolling hills. Once there beautiful views you can take in. The beach is nice. It is regularly unmanaged meaning there is debris on the beach and no life guard. The swimming area is quite large and tapers out several hundred feet to a depth of about 8-12 feet. Overall enjoyed our time and would go again. We camped at Elk Neck State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Sites were somewhat close together, but not bad for a state park. Entire park appeared to be very clean. There is a beach, several trails, a light house to visit. All of these required driving to another part of the park, it would be a long way to walk but could be done with a bicycle if desired. As with many state parks, you are not allowed to bring in fire wood. There is a camp store where it can be purchased. We camped at Elk Neck State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Northeast Loop is full hookup. Nice, quiet loop with full shade and walkways from each site to the bathhouse. Sites are bigger than advertised. Lots of hiking and biking trails. The grass wasn't cut, but that's the only complaint I can come up with. Our site was level with a gravel patio area. We will come back often. We camped at Elk Neck State Park in a Motorhome.

Lovely state park with well spaced campsite. Full hook up sites are awesome. Lots of mountainous trails to bike or hike. Not too far from the cute town of NortEast, which has some nice restaurants and shops. We camped at Elk Neck State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Our third time to Elk Neck, first time in the new fiver. We wanted to keep close to home (less than 100 miles), but can't stomach Jersey state parks. Very quiet this time of the year, just us and the campground host. Periodic patrols of Maryland Park Police and park service employees add to the sense of security. always a good hike out to the lighthouse, lots of improvements being made all around the park. My wife just turned 62, so we signed up for the Maryland golden Age passport when we checked in, half priced camping. If you like quiet, clean state parks, this is a good choice. We camped at Elk Neck State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The town of North East has some nice restaurants, especially when crabs are in season. Make sure you bring everything, unless you're here when the camp store is open (we rarely are). Hike to the lighthouse.

What can we say, another great Maryland State Park with lots to do and full hookups. Check in was friendly and easy. We stayed in the North East Loop on Site # 14, great secluded full hookup / pet friendly site that is very easy to back in. Water pressure was great, electric voltage was perfect and no issues with the sewer. A visit to the bath houses to check out the cleanliness and there was no disappointment there, spotless and nicely heated on this cool April weekend. Plenty to do here for a long weekend or possibly a week. We hiked the Pond and Marsh loop trails, many more hiking trails available. A trip to the lighthouse is a must see, do this before 10 AM or after 5 PM due to limited parking at the trail head. Kayaking was easy, there is a great put in spot at the Rougues Harbor Launch area. The town of North East is a ten mile drive if you forget something or want to go out to eat as there are some eateries in the town. Note, some sites have an incline where it might be a little hard to park a RV over 25', check the website and use their guidelines. Other sites we could manage with our 33' motorhome and parking for our toad in the future would be (in order) 14,3,5,11,13,30,22. There is also a laundromat and camp store. Cell service on AT&T and Verizon was one bar, good enough to text. We camped at Elk Neck State Park in a Motorhome.

Second time staying at Elk Neck State Park, we enjoy heading down to Turkey Point Lighthouse and into Northeast MD. The day we arrived it was pouring rain and our site was an absolute mud pit, the dirt/fine gravel utilized in the site did not allow draining. Therefore we were unable to sit outside during our stay. Campground does not offer cable, was able to get satellite reception in the site. There is absolutely horrendous service for Verizon Wireless, so if you have Verizon prepare for a total break from tech. We camped at Elk Neck State Park in a Motorhome.

Great large campground. Gets busy on the weekends even in the spring and fall. People are mostly respectful and keep to themselves. The rangers are constantly patrolling and don't tolerate stupidity or riff raff.

Love the laundromat. Internet is very spotty in this park. If you need a stable connection try elk or miles loop on the water side. We camped at Elk Neck State Park in a Truck Camper.

We stayed in the full hookup North East loop. Grounds were clean as well as the bathrooms and showers. Most sites are easy to back into and there are numerous pull through sites. Electrical box had 50, 30 & 20 amp plugs. Sewer was toward the front of our site and we had to use a 10ft extender. AT&T service limited. Sites and roads were paved and sidewalks through the interior to the bathrooms. Nice hiking trails throughout park. Store on site with different groceries and souvenirs. Wood was a little expensive at $5.25 for a small bundle. Larger RV's pay attention when entering park. 12ft height limit 1st lane. anything over use 4th lane and they'll let you in. Definitely going back again. We camped at Elk Neck State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Love this campground. Very big. Really clean restrooms for the amount of people that go in/out. Very spacious. The kids brought friends and they have plenty of areas to explore. Quiet. Hiked to the lighthouse close by. Loved it. Will be back again and again. We camped at Elk Neck State Park in a Tent.

Stayed in North East Loop site #11. All sites are either pull through in a crescent beside the loop drive, or back in with the drive angled for very easy in and out. This loop had full hookups with 50 amp service. . Most sites level or close to it. All rigs required to have wheels on the hard surface, which made for easy jacking. Cell service was almost non-existent. TV reception OK, but varied by site. Concrete pathways between sites and bath house. Lots of hiking trails. We went for the rest and relaxation so we didn't use any of the facilities. Other loops may be pet restricted, no hookups or electric and water only. Very nice state park. We camped at Elk Neck State Park in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our weekend visit to this beautiful state campground. Our family had a blast swimming in the shallow bay. The kids thought the small zip line on the playground by the beach was terrific. They could have played on it all day.

We stayed in the full hook up loop #19. My advice is to avoid this particular site and others near it, because it is directly adjacent to the sewer gas vent for the waste treatment system. When the wind blew, look out! Whew! This site was rather difficult to pull into, because it is a narrow semi-circle situated on a hill. Once we got our camper into position, the site was level, but getting it into position was tricky. This site also lacked shade. I would recommend a back-in site at this campground. We camped at Elk Neck State Park in a Travel Trailer.

I agree that water shoes would have been nice for the rocky shoreline. It was fun to visit the lighthouse, but the mile and a half hike may not be for everyone.

This is a nice State Park campground. Our site was very level. The grounds were well kept. The utilities worked well. There were a lot of trees so satellite service was hard to get. There is a nice playground. The laundry was very nice. They have hiking trails around the park, but they are not in very good shape or well-defined. The one to the lighthouse was in very good shape. There are parts of the park that did not allow pets. We had a FHU site. We would stay here again. We camped at Elk Neck State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Elk Neck was pretty good last weekend. We stayed in the electric loop (Chester) which was fine for what we needed. Thursday night there was hardly anyone there so we enjoyed some peace and quiet. Friday night a group of large families surrounded us on almost every side. I don't mind basic noise from there being lots of people in a CG. But several little girls would run around and scream at the top of their lungs, which really is annoying. There is no such thing as an outside voice anymore. We camped at Elk Neck State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Also what I found interesting is that the full hookup loop (none available) seemed to have more room and the sites were spaced out better. The electric loop seemed to have sites arranged all over the place with lots of overlap so that tents/TTs were close together, leading to the loud noise level. Still a good experience.

We stayed here for 9 days while my son was at Boy Scout camp just down the road. This is a beautiful state park with a lot to offer. There are numerous hiking trails and we saw everything from bald eagles to beaver dams. There is a nice little beach that is free to campers (bring your water shoes, there are rocks for the first 50 feet) and a boat launch with a dog-friendly beach next to it. We stayed in the North East loop which is the only one with sewer. It was very quiet and very family-friendly. The bathrooms were very modern and spotless. Each campsite has a host right on site, and our hosts cleaned the bathrooms twice per day. My only negatives were that there was only Wi-Fi at the store, cell phone service in the park was almost non-existent, and many of the sites were tricky to get into and not level. We were in one of the pull-through sites, and it was very shallow with cement poles in the space between the driveway and the road making it very difficult to find a place that was somewhat level, far enough forward for the sewer, but far enough from the poles to allow our slide to come out. Overall though we had a wonderful time. We camped at Elk Neck State Park in a Travel Trailer.
