Stayed 3 nights. Campground dates back to the 60's - small, tight sites. Great location right on the water, if you can just adjust to your neighbor farting in your window. - EnjoyinLife
Dec 2016 - $45.00
There was so much duck-poop all over the grounds, it was difficult to walk around the site or the campground. A pretty water view, but noisy due to a busy road and railroad just west of the campground. There were only a couple other transient RVers; most of the park was filled with permanent residents. The sites are very close to each other: it would be claustrophobic in the summer. We would NOT visit this park again. - Forest Woods
Nov 2016 - $28.00
Long Term campers are forgotten by management, at 850 a month you'd assume roads would be swept, leaves raked and friendly courteous hosts and lots of activities for kids. We found this not to be the case. Half the campground has a ban on campfires. The campground is surrounded by water but there's no swimming as we saw, it's all tidal marsh lands about 3 foot deep. They do allow dogs and motorcycles. Getting in touch with anyone in the office after hours is next to impossible. - gbbudd1-

Clean park, excellent facilities. The hookups were really nice, with exception that the sewer was about 8 inches off the ground, which made downward flow impossible, even with our hose support. The base has check-in down to a science, with a combo to unlock your utilities. Plan ahead--washing clothes requires a laundry card. You have to go to MWR to purchase a card (which they round to the nearest dollar, so you lose .50 depending on the number of loads you want). You then turn in your card before you leave, or incur a fee. Sites are nice and level. We had deer walk through our site a couple of times. Nice location. We would stay here again. - RVerFamily
Oct 2016 - $35.00
Shore Park Campground. New RV park on APG. Park appears less than 1 year old. All sites (about 30) have Water, Sewer and 20/30/50AMP electric service. Walking distance to small fishing area down a small hill. Pad site is level concrete. Interior roads at campground are asphalt, and easy to navigate. Road was a one-way road, but park was not crowded, so it wasn't a problem. - usamacdonald2
Sep 2016 - $40.00
This review is for the new Shore Park Travel Camp that opened in June 2016.
There are 24 back-in sites and 5 cabins (cabins are not open at this time) on the campground site. Some sites will only accommodate RV's up to 30'. Most sites look fairly easy to get level on, but there are a few that a big rig might find difficult. The layout is a little "hinky" - depending on which site you have you could be backing in on your "bad/blind" side.
Right now it is pretty exposed but a large number of trees have been planted between and behind sites. Frankly, there may be some issues in the future with the placement of these. Even with the current openness we were not able to get a signal for our satellite at all due to the large trees on one side of the park. FYI - we use a tripod mounted dish that allows us to pretty much place it wherever. There was another Class A that pulled in on our side and soon moved to another site because they couldn't get a signal with their roof-mounted dish. They do not want ANYTHING placed on the grass areas without written permission.
Since everything is brand new and there haven't been a number of people there, the bathhouse is in excellent condition with the exception of some bad starters on the lights. Didn't use the laundry but 2 washers and 2 dryers may not make it going forward.
Sites are all concrete and the road is blacktop helping to keep things cleaner. The sewer connection is raised about 9" off the ground. No cable or wifi. We did not have an issue with service on either our Verizon Jetpack or T-Mobile phone hotspot.
Pet owners: APG is an active testing base so you do hear the blasting/gunfire - usually in the mornings. Not deafening but it can shake your rig if the gun is big enough. - hdchickinfl

May 2017 - $35.00
My first time in a Maryland state park, so I wasn't prepared to decipher the 16 different camping prices, depending on electric/non-electric, state residency, Golden Age membership and the day of the week. Not sure what formula they use that causes most of the rates to end in 74 cents, payable only by cash or check - not the most convenient when the campground office is closed. To the ranger's credit, he did tally the fee box for the night and insisted on bringing me the $0.26 I overpaid. Only eight electric sites on the Acorn Loop, and we were lucky to snag one that wasn't reserved on a weeknight. Bathhouse looked very new and was fantastically clean. Sites are heavily wooded and quiet. Weak Verizon 3G service. - RVNed
Jun 2016 - $28.00
Site was very shaded, and probably the most secluded feel of anywhere we've camped. Camping pad was nice and level, although the driveway was slightly sloped. One of our bunk ends extended beyond the pad into the woods, which was just fine by me. Nice amount of space in between sites. Short walk to bathouse, through the woods behind us. There were also several, very private, "walk-up" type sites for tents.
Facilities/Overall Park: Bath house was immaculate; by far the cleanest I have ever seen in a campground. Must have been recently renovated. Deer Creek day-use area was nice; had a big playground and a few pavilions. Picnic area was an open field with very little shade, and the amount of goose poop was unreal; like walking through a minefield. For that reason alone, I don't think I would host any events there. There is a little fishing pond there, which my husband and daughter enjoyed. We hiked back to the campground from here, which was a nice easy-to-moderate trail. The beginning was pretty rough for me, since I was wearing my infant son while navigating an uphill trail, but it quickly evened out. There are also plenty of areas to stop along the road in the campground, with access to the creek for wading. The water felt great, but the bottom was rather pebbly. There is a historic area in the park, with a working grist mill, mansion and other little buildings to view. Not really my thing, but was pretty neat. The views of the river are really nice from here. - Jenventola
Apr 2012 - $22.00
The sites were large and flat and each had it's own grill. The bathrooms were cleaned several times a day and were always very clean. My kids enjoyed playing on the large play areas and fishing at the pond. Next time we will try the river. We were very happy with the park and the park rangers were extremely helpful. We will be going back. - Cfamily

Aug 2017 - $28.00
The campground is down a mildly windy road. Once in the staff is very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly despite the overwhelming rules they must go over when you arrive. A hair more strict seemingly than other Maryland State Parks we have been to in the past. We had no trouble with navigating the North East loop however many others did. Observed the pull through sites as tight by being narrow and short. Watched several campers over the course of our stay have a hard time getting their midsized campers parked on their site. We also observed many sites that required extensions for their sewer line. The utilities for our site was in front of the tongue and required an extension for our water. Our site was nicely shaded with some grass for pets. The drive way was on a hill able to accept two vehicles. The camping pad levels out and was enough room for the trailer. The site needed minimal leveling. The fire pit at this site has a grill, lantern holder and picnic table. On the loop there is a nice clean restroom/ shower house that is close and playground which is out of sight of this site. The main amenities are all a short drive away. The camp store was large with not too much different to offer. The lighthouse is a sure stop. There is no handicap parking and often times must wait to park due to the popularity. They have very limited hours for tours. The hike is level gravel with rolling hills. Once there beautiful views you can take in. The beach is nice. It is regularly unmanaged meaning there is debris on the beach and no life guard. The swimming area is quite large and tapers out several hundred feet to a depth of about 8-12 feet. Overall enjoyed our time and would go again. - Coleman Pop Up Family
Jun 2017 - $42.00
Sites were somewhat close together, but not bad for a state park. Entire park appeared to be very clean. There is a beach, several trails, a light house to visit. All of these required driving to another part of the park, it would be a long way to walk but could be done with a bicycle if desired. As with many state parks, you are not allowed to bring in fire wood. There is a camp store where it can be purchased. - JFB1
May 2017 - $40.00
Lovely state park with well spaced campsite. Full hook up sites are awesome. Lots of mountainous trails to bike or hike. Not too far from the cute town of NortEast, which has some nice restaurants and shops. - pamvanw

Jun 2010 - $27.00
This is not an RV park. Instead, it is a mobile home park that happens to have three long-term RV sites nearby. Sites rent only on a monthly basis at $795/mo, including all utilities except cable and phone. You get a regular street address and USPS mailbox at the street. The sites are very bare bones, with gravel pads that are pretty level, picnic tables at two of the sites but no patios, full-hookups, and grass is mowed religiously by on-site caretaker who lives just two doors down and is a bit nosy. The sites sit right on Bull Neck Creek. This is a blessing and a curse. Great views of the water, fishing, and lots of waterfowl, but the area is prone to flooding, and the sites get boggy fast. We often find ourselves stepping out our door and into a puddle after a big rain. In the event of a tropical storm, hurricane, or unusually high tides you will have to evacuate. The driveway into the sites is not paved so gets rutty and muddy in snow and rain. If you aren't careful, your vehicle and rig can get stuck very easily. Septic tanks sometime back up, but maintained man will pump them for you. Electric, water, and cable supplies reliable. Very quiet park and neighborhood. We've been here nearly a year and have never seen a police car or ambulance in the area. We've also had no neighbors in the other two sites during that time. The mobile home park sits right between two county parks with fishing and boat ramps, so recreation is readily available. Property manager (who is located off site) is very friendly and helpful and will work to accommodate your needs. Pets are allowed ONLY on the RV sites, not in the mobile home park or in the stick-built homes nearby. Large, open field nearby where you can walk your pets. You are responsible for taking your garbage to the curb once a week and supplying your own garbage can. Raccoons and stray cats in the area, so you don't want to sit your trash out unprotected. Sites are about a block away from railroad tracks, and trains do come through in the wee hours. High tension power immediately adjacent to the sites. This said, these are the ONLY RV sites near Baltimore that allow pets, have full hookups, cable access, AND allow long-term residents. Lots of mobile home parks in the area do allow RVers, but most won't allow pets. If you plan to winter over in this park, know that you'll get to shovel the 100 feet or so to the street in the event of a blizzard (we had three this last winter). The county does plow the streets, and there is some car parking about a block up, so you can park your car or truck there in the event of snow. Carpenter ants are a problem here, and they will eat the wood in your RV, so be careful. We haven't yet found a good remedy for them except keeping the tree branches over our rig trimmed back. Mosquitoes are also fierce because of the nearby creek. I'd give the park a higher rating if the sites and driveway were paved, if the drainage were better, and if the monthly rate was a bit lower, but I suppose this is the cost of living right on a tributary of the Chesapeake and only 20 minutes from downtown Baltimore. - Mary Jo

Feb 2017 - $1.00
The site is mostly park homes and permanent trailers. Some of the sites are nice but many are incredibly trashy. I wouldn't call it a resort, it's just a camp ground. There is no laundry facility and they don't allow washing machines to be used. There is no Wi-Fi, no cable, no satellite reception. The campground web site says there is a camp store, however there isn't anything to it. We planed to stay long term but have decided differently after one month. Electric is metered for long term campers, however the rate they charge per KW is double of what the average is for the area. The price is way too high for what you get. We will not be staying again and wouldn't recommend the campground. - DWB
Feb 2017 - $45.00
A lot of full timers, friendly staff, men's room clean and recently painted, many off season construction projects going on, my site was within a traffic circle and I only had 20 or 50A service available. - User3064
Oct 2016 - $45.00
This is not a resort. Rather, a campground with 90% permanent residents. There are 2 sites in the campground with reasonably level gravel and FHU 30/50 amp service. We had to move to the 'overflow' on uneven grass with 30 amp and water only mid stay. Had to use leveling pads on one side of the coach get level. If this wasn't the closest to an event we were attending in New Castle, DE, we would have made other arrangements. There is a pool which we closed for the season. The price is way too high and we won't stay here again. - 2sunkid

It is a nice drive to campground and the staff was very friendly. Check in was very fast. The bathroom is clean. The campground as a whole is very clean. The sites were big . It is an all around nice campground atmosphere. The only downfalls were no tv hook up, and the pool closes to early. I'd still love to stay here again. - Delaware camper
Nov 2009 - $37.00
This campground caters to its seasonal sites. Not very many over night sites available. If you get a site on the river the view is amazing. Stayed here because it's local to family activities. Didn't notice any planned family activities. Restrooms are outdated but for the most part clean. Definitely caters to seasonal sites and not the traveling camper. I would not recommend this campground unless you need a place to lay your head for local activities. - mdbowhunter
Jun 2009 - $35.00
This place needs a lot of work. Seasonals are in poor shape and overnight sites are very close together. - custras

Jun 2017 - $57.00
This is a beautiful "resort" style park. The grounds are well landscaped and I don't blame them for not allowing parking or mats on the grass. The price is not high. This campground was full, and was turning away reservations, they must be doing something right. The wifi was strong in my site, the local antenna was incredible, you can pick-up Washington and Baltimore stations so no real need for cable. I have been here three times and have noticed that this campground has improved every time, and I am looking forward to my next visit. - Maryland Traveler
Jul 2016 - $57.00
Over the years we have been going here, it is getting better. The place is clean, the sunsets are the greatest. We would give a better rating but, 1. the price is too high (no full hook up) 2. the sites are on the small side. 3. because of the price keep going up, they are not putting it into the bath houses were it needs to go and the dump stations need to be concrete, the mud is terrible. We would like to give this place a 8-9 rating, because the staff is great, and the place is clean. But it is what it is. Also, we had very low water pressure, it was better using our pump. We never had this problem before, think maybe because the park was full, because as weekenders started leaving the pressure got better. - RW40KB
Jul 2016 - $55.00
We stayed here as an overnight stop on our way home. We called ahead for a rerservation. The campground was a bit of a drive off Rt. 301 and the office closed at 2 p.m. and there was no one to greet us. Our confirmation email had a site number so we pulled in. The campground is on the shore of Chesapeake Bay. Bayside sites were $15 more and not worth the extra money. There is no swimming pool. The only place to swim is in the bay. The beach was barely six feet wide and the bay was a rocky bottom. We waded in to cool down and that was it. Not sure we would use this campground again. - slay
