10 RV Parks near Taylor's Island, Maryland
Jul 2017 - $25.00
Absolutely the worst camping experience in over ten years of camping. Facilities are old, run-down and just plain nasty. The nice view of the Bay was about the only positive on my visit. The "last straw" was the owner burning a huge pile of garbage a short distance from my campsite. - WNThee
Mar 2007 - $19.00
Great location on the Bay. Good store, game room, laundry, clean bathrooms, nice boat launch, slips - all about fishing. Many seasonal sites, allowing additions (porches). Transient sites are back ins, 30 amp with great view and bay breeze. Propane refill, marine gas. Off season when I was there, but entry road pot holes were being filled, and hurricane/storm erosion was being addressed. Great owners/staff. - PattieAM
Jun 2012 - $44.00
We have been searching for a spot near Cambridge, MD and found this "mom and pop" campground on the internet. They do not have a website but the following web address gives an aerial photograph: http://marinas.com/view/marina/5080_Madison_Bay_Campground_%26_Marina_MD_United_States There are about 8 transient sites which are situated in the right side of the photograph near the marina slips. The remainder of the sites are seasonal. There is no shade and water/electric sites only, but the dump out station is easily accessible and certainly adequate. We did not use the bath houses or laundry so cannot comment. There is an excellent small restaurant and bar on site with local crab and seafood dishes as well as steaks, hamburgers and sandwich items, open for lunch and dinner. Call ahead for a reservation at the campground. When you arrive, go to the R&R Restaurant and one of the very friendly bartenders or wait staff will direct you to a site. This is a simple campground with a nice water view. We were there for the Eagleman half triathlon in nearby Cambridge, enjoyed our visit, and plan to return. - M&M

Oct 2017 - $30.00
The base is great. Easy on/off from the road and walkable/bikeable to town of Solomons with the tiki bar and sergeants bbq. On base there were mwr events for Halloween and there looks like lots of water activity at the multiple pools and beach. For today's concerns, there was WiFi everywhere which supports Amazon fire stick and laptop. We will return!! - Jwhenderson
Jun 2017 - $41.00
This is on a military recreation center so you will have to have authorized access for this base. Overall the park and facilities are in good order. However, there are several long term campers that have spots that are in disrepair. The site around there camper has very tall grass, all of their belonging lying about and is generally an eye sore. I have been here several times and this has always been the case. I have no problem with long term camping, but make them keep their site presentable. The camper close to us was unoccupied except when they stopped by to feed the dogs that were living in it. If you find a spot away from these areas it is a nice place for a visit. There is a nice pool and a beach along the river, driving range, fishing pier (needs repair), and planned activities. - JFB1
May 2017 - $30.00
We ended up at this park with friends of ours who had access as military. Roads are quite narrow, the site we had was hard to get our 41' 5th wheel in, and the craziest thing was the sewer connection was under the middle of the trailer!! as well I could not back in as the water and electrical was on the wrong side!! Grass was very long, looks like it hadn't been cut yet this year. Not impressed. - North America in 90 days
Oct 2017 - $40.00
The 17 site daily campground is basically a sandy field alongside the beach. The sites 20-25 feet wide are separated by electric pedestals. Some sites have trees along side the beach so those sites get some shade. Tables and fire rings are also lined up along the beach. Sites are slightly messy. No big debris but lots of cigarette butts, bits of paper and plastic, plastic bottles, etc. The County does rake the beach. For a County as prosperous as Calvert they should do better. - RobertW
Aug 2016 - $40.00
-Personal beach area
-Good power and water
-Nice warm water
-Boat and paddle board rental on site
-2 security gates
-Coincidentally spot 16 needs maintenance but we were given boards and assistance to get settled into the site
My family absolutely loved this campground! This was our first time staying at a public operated campground so some things took some getting used to. We were so pleased with the campground we are contemplating getting a seasonal site next year. We've been all the way to the Keys and haven't had as good of an experience as we had here.... - Slo Mo
Aug 2015 - $42.00
Great beach front camping on the Chesapeake Bay. Campsites are very sandy (this is a beach remember) and have good 50 Amp power and water at each site. No sewer or dump station, just a honey wagon service twice a week. The weekends are very busy here as the location is so great.
Each campsite has a campfire ring on the beach behind the campsite. A great place to have a beach campfire. Swim, wade, boat right from the beach behind the campsite. The campsites are packed full on weekends as is the nearby day-use area. During the week it is much less crowded. There is a pretty big marina right next door also.
The sites are nice and long but fairly narrow. The beach area behind the campsites is a nice large shared use area for campers only. It is a nice sized beach that provides lots of room for the campers to spread out on right behind your campsite.
Reservations are by telephone only. This is a County Park run by Calvert County, Maryland. - eb145
Jul 2017 - $45.00
Resident sheep chews everyone's water lines, vehicles, campers, stuff outside. Also alot of junked out campers around that are a big eyesore. Too bad, used to be beautiful down by water but now trashy. - Full timers X 2
May 2008 - $37.00
the electric is very outdated. we lost electric each day and were told to turn off the ac units to save the boxes. the sites are not marked and there is not water and electric to each site you must share with others and if you do not have enough cords oh well. there is no camp store and the costs jump up after 2 persons and yo have other fees as well on arrival. we were disappointed in the depth of the water 3 - 5 feet only and the docks were always taken and there is no safe area for the kids to play oe swim. if you are looking - pass this one up!! - mountainbreeze
Aug 2006 - $35.00
Excellent campground. There are beautiful sites by the water. People are very friendly. I was totally satisfied camping there. I will return. - dmb921
Jun 2016 - $55.00
Large park with a tremendous amount of permanent residents. Two loops in the A section with full hookups, B section has water/electric only, C and D are full hookups.
Staff is extremely nice as are the residents. The residents are contractors that come and go. Monthly rates are $550 plus electric.
There is a pool, playground, fishing pond (front of property), fishing lake (back of property), and some area trails.
All sites are back-in. - calewjohnson
May 2016 - $55.00
This park has a majority of permanent residents that keep their sites filled with clutter and dirty rigs. This certainly detracts from the overall appearance of the park.
We have now traveled over 23,000 miles and stayed in many, many RV Campgrounds....and this is BY FAR, one of the most expensive parks we have stayed in with very little amenities. Sites were NOT level and were merely grass sites, not even gravel. They had had a great deal of rain the prior two weeks, thus making things soggy and our stabilizers sank into the dirt/grass. The park did not provide even so much as a picnic table at our site, in addition to very, very poor working Wi-Fi/Internet and no cable, which meant no T.V. (there were no local channels). When my husband asked one of the staff about cable, he sarcastically said that "We could call ComCast to come out and hook us up", not very realistic for people only staying two nights.
Lastly, no where was I told ahead of time when I made my reservation that I needed cash or a debit Card, so I was not prepared for this. When checking in, they THEN proceeded to charge me an additional 3% fee for using a Visa Card. And that was on top of an extremely high nightly fee.
Bathroom facilities were dirty, "old" and locked at 8:00 p.m. each night. We definitely will not ever return to this location, and I will be sure to pass this information on to all our friends who are full-timers. - Suzanne R.S.
Apr 2016 - $45.00
Sites not occupied by long term campers, are mostly not level. Would not take reservations or assign site. Charges extra to use a credit card. No cable and absolutely no over the air reception. Only upside to this campground is the convenience to Pax River NAS. I will have to stay again, but not recommended. - SC RVer

This place is a marina first, not a campground. They have a nice marina which has a restaurant and bar, swimming pool, picnic areas, and the bathhouse is located under the restaurant and includes laundry facilities. They also have a seasonal campground, which is not where you'll be if you're spending a few nights. The campground where they'll put you is called the "field" because it's just that, a field. I can't even call it a campground because this is the condition it was in: no access road, no marked off campsites, just a row of hookup boxes that you back into along a tree line on two sides of a big field. The field is unimproved - bumpy, swampy, and you have to drive over it to get to your site. There is no trash service or dumpster, you have to drive your trash to the marina. There is no bathhouse for the campground, you have to use the one at the marina, about a 1/4 mile away. There is no on-site manager, which means there is no one to enforce quiet hours. It's basically a free for all in a field. We had neighbors that pulled in at midnight - 4 diesel trucks with boats and 2 large campers/5gth wheels - who turned on outside food lights and played and drank - at 2am they were still up and their kids were running around, screaming. There was nothing anyone could do. We were booked for 2 nights but we packed up the next morning and checked out. I will never go back, and I would advise no one to use this place. They make no effort at all to provide any services for their campers. Very disappointing. - dstumps
Sep 2007 - $35.00
This was the second time we have stayed this year. The first time was a check-it-out visit. The second time...we brought the boat with us. If you want a somewhere to fish and boat, this is the place. It is maybe a 15 minute trip in the boat to Point Lookout, so you have the river and the bay to choose from. The staff I ran across were very nice. Yes, you need to drive thru a field but the sites are back-ins towards trees, with shade in the evenings. There is a pond to fish right from the rear of the campsite. We plan on returning. - det62
Jul 2007 - $30.00
We spent 3 nights there last week. Our impressions; The CG is hard to reach being at the end of a long series of narrow roads. Definitely out of the way and definitely very quiet at night. The "seasonal portion" of the CG has crushed stone roads and is in a forested area. Tightly packed in together (about 12 to 15 feet apart). I wouldn't want one of the sites but there were about 60 - 70 seasonals with semi-permanent hookups so someone must like it. The "transient" portion of the CG is an open field with water and electric hookups. Looks like an old baseball field that had a trench run up the side to plant the water and electric lines. The field is lumpy and uneven. The fire ring on our site and on the ones bordering us had burned out bottles and cans in them that were not touched in the 3 days we were there. The picnic tables were falling apart - at a guess, they were being recycled from the seasonal side. When we checked in at the office, we asked for a map of the CG. They don't have one! There are no restrooms or shower facilities! (Their website claims a "bathhouse" but we never found it.) When we left and used the dump station we found the sump covered by a scrap piece of planking and with no running water for cleanup. Quite frankly disappointing because with some work and attention this could be a much better CG. - Maine-iacs
Oct 2016 - $55.00
Love this campground. A lot of permanent residents March through November. Some contractors yearly. Wonderful staff. Water and rental equipment for your stay. Child and pet friendly. Restaurant/Bar is open during the summer from Thursday through Sunday. Though we always call to make sure if we don't want to cook on arrival. Tons of repeat customers. Close enough to base but far enough to enjoy the great outdoors. Go crabbing fishing and all. Suggest everyone try this campground. - Custom camper
Aug 2014 - $35.00
The only good thing about this park is that the sites are shaded (they also have a big field with lots of room for tents or campers, no shade, no hookups). The sites are small and poorly organized. We had a hard time getting our 27' rig into our assigned spot because the unit behind us had backed in too far and they were not around to move it. The staff is totally unconcerned with addressing any problems (in addition to the space issue, there was water spraying everywhere from the spigot). The office is about a half mile hike from the camp sites, and that is where the bathrooms, showers, and the WiFi are. The WiFi, when available, is so slow you would think it was dial-up. The bath/shower rooms are nice and clean, but 3 of the 4 rooms did not lock. We would not go back! - Capt.Deb
Jun 2010 - $30.00
The dirtiest showers and bath house we have seen. On Saturday nights, they sponsor a drunken bash with very loud music 75 feet from tent camping area. Refused to honor quiet hours. Police were called at 3:15 am to break up the party. Avoid at all cost. - Gary Morris
Apr 2017 - $55.00
This is a beautiful park! It could be a lot better with some upgrades. The power was weak, could not run the a/c & the microwave at the same time. The most beautiful sunset, and very friendly people. It needed some new paint, repairs and just a face lift. Very quite, great fishing from the shore, small beach but clean. Great place for the price. - M D Hirsch
Sep 2016 - $43.00
This campground is a gem on the Chesapeake. Great scenic overlook of the bay. Didn't use the bathroom or shower facilities so I can't review that. Store has lots of items for those who might have forgot something. Employees were all very nice as were all of the people we ran into. Many seasonal sites. Entertainment every night we were here. The biting flies were a pain but not enough to ruin a great weekend. I will be returning here someday. - Mitch Witham
Jun 2015 - $50.00
Quiet park. There isn't much around - nice casual restaurant with outdoor seating down the street but that's about it. Roads are very bicycle friendly. Site 21 was a grassy, shaded site but a little tight if you have a canopy and a slide. Bathrooms were clean but dated. Camp store hours are rather limited. No cable or Wi-Fi, so I thought the price was a little high. Was rather annoyed that the guys cutting the grass and weed whacking felt the need to do our site while we were packing up to leave and couldn't wait until we were done. There were many empty sites that they could have done first, and it was still an hour before checkout time. The beach and the water are great and the sunsets are beautiful! - Bonnie66
