Oct 2016 - $55.00
We stayed here in late September/early October. The park is primarily for seasonal mobile homes and permanent RVs; very few were actually occupied this late in the season (the Cape is a "summer location"). There are few temporary "RV" spots here. However, we were very happy with this park because it is in a super-quiet area and is full of beautiful trees; it is a lovely park. The seasonal RVs are mostly quite nice ones, too. This is a well-kept park. Though sites are a little close together, we had plenty of room for our 30 foot trailer and large truck. There as plenty of room to open our slides. There is a playground here and a nice walking path. There is basically no wifi-- you have to go to the club house or something like that; I just hotspotted into my AT&T phone, which worked fine. - beckydmc
Jul 2016 - $74.00
This is primarily a summer residential camp. The toilets and showers are very old with few amenities. There was not even a hook in the shower. But there were spiders and moths. There were also lots of little worms dropping from the trees - something that would not happen all the time - we just managed to hit worm season. Very nice pool. - suerover
Aug 2010 - $55.00
This park is not for actual campers. It is a mobile home park for permanent residents. There were few actual RVers and campers. There was very little, if anything, going on in the park. No activities. The bathrooms and showers were filthy, unkempt and unsafe. There was actually an electrical cord hanging in the women's shower without a GFI plug. Very unsafe. The internet access was extremely limited. Only 4 consecutive hours of Wi Fi and you needed to be at one location in order to receive it. It was not a good location to the area. We will Never return here. - smartrv7

Nov 2017 - $37.00
Mostly dilapidated Park models and trailers. RV sites were only a few and down in the 'hollow' which means they had no sewer because it was not functioning. Instead, they would drive a truck by and pump the black water for you which is nice, but necessary. Their location is on the beach. - DustyBob
Oct 2017 - $55.00
This campground has 275 very crowded sites with only 9 for transients. The others are permanent seasonal sites, connected with many narrow, twisting roads, really tight for our 36' coach. We had trouble following the map because we couldn't find street names. I hate to think how crowded it must be with all the seasonal campers there. Check-in was seamless except that the power didn't work, but they fixed it right away. WiFi worked well. On the other hand, cable was disappointing. They gave us a list of 100 channels, with the statement "we don't work on TVs." Maybe that's because there are really only about 14 channels, most of them grainy. But the really weird thing was that although they list "sewer" on their website and it is listed on this site, when we were checking in, they told us the sewer was only for gray water. We couldn't use it for black water. WHAT??? In decades of camping, we have never run into this. Maybe it had something to do with the seasonal sites being shut down, but it was never explained. They have a dump station, but having to disconnect and move to dump is really inconvenient. Our coach blocked the road while we were dumping. The biggest plus for us was that campfires are prohibited. We can't tolerate smoke and usually have to seal ourselves up in our coach. They do have places to barbeque. We might stay here again but probably not in season. - pompomgirl
Jun 2016 - $34.00
Location was easy to find and navigate. Being located mid cape, it provided a nice base camp for exploring all parts of Cape Cod. Staff was very friendly, and we were escorted to the site, thankfully. Interior roads are paved, but narrow, and wind through the crowded maze of mostly seasonal and permanent park models to the RV site. Site itself was concrete and we were on an end so had plenty of grass area and privacy. Utilities were well located and worked fine. Bathrooms were close by and needed a code to enter. Private beach was right across the road, an easy walk with chairs and cooler. On the weekends the private beach was a blessing, as the adjacent public beach became quite crowded. There is one restaurant/bar within walking distance and we ate their once. It was okay and the prices were decent. We would definitely return here. - MissMyGolden

Oct 2017 - $59.00
Stayed 5 nights at this campground. Rate I posted was the non-discounted rate. I used PA for 2 nights and a fall special discount t of 30% off for the other 3 nights. FHUs worked as expected. Cable channel selection was good although some channels were a little fuzzy. Wifi worked good for general surfing. Site was gravel, level, and pretty good size. Lots of park models and seasonal campers. My only complaint is the showers on Spruce Ln need some work. No hooks, sheet rock was turning black, and the water ran out into the floor in the handicapped accessible shower making the floor very slick. Showers in other parts of the campground were better. Staff was nice and helpful. Would stay there again if in the area. - Kxbronco
Aug 2017 - $55.00
We had site PI17, which was a back in, with 50 AMP, water, sewer, and cable for $55/night. As previously noted, there are a lot of seasonal sites. Our site was gravel, and long enough. It was a quiet place at night, because we stayed here before the Labor Day Weekend. There are a lot of amenities including a pool, activity room, beach area at the pond, playground, and other game areas. The staff is very friendly and helpful! The security gate staff are very professional and friendly! The seasonal residents were nice too. It does have a closed in feel due to all of the trees surrounding each site. My Verizon cell wouldn't work well unless I went closer to the office. Good thing they had cable, because satellite and Over The Air would not pick up channels. - Lindy White
Jul 2017 - $59.00
Very nice park. Sites are gravel and large; greenery between gives you more privacy. A lot of seasonal and permanent (park home) folks, but done in a nice way. We would stay here again when in the area. - DreamCaptn

Easy to get to, well maintained park. Full-service, 50A, pull-thru site was quite long. Owners friendly and helpful. Near many attractions including ferries to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Many seasonals, but they were nice and well kept. Roads were a bit narrow in the park for very big rigs, but we made it fine. I would definitely stay again. - DYK 640

Friendly, quiet, generally seasonal occupants with personal upgrades to the sites. Rolling topography. - User2564
Jun 2014 - $40.00
We stayed here in our 42' rig. The pull-through site was plenty long. The park was nice and quiet with a wonderful beach area that many were enjoying. They have sailboats, rowboats and paddleboats available at no extra charge. The owner was very friendly and gave us a lot of local information/sights to see. We would stay there again. - FunTimes123

Jul 2012 - $12.00
We stayed here for a weekend. The staff was friendly and efficient. The roads were paved. The sites are dirt, but they are roomy, shady, and level. They had a table and fire pit. Bathrooms dated, but clean. No hook ups. There are hiking trails, a playground and a small camp store with essentials and firewood. The campground volunteers put on a great pancake breakfast. Quiet at night. We would stay here again. - trip1

This is a very nice park with shaded, private sites. While staying here you get access to Scusset Beach which is a very nice beach on Cape Cod Bay. Bathrooms are clean and the people that work here are very nice. We stay here often and the area is convenient for sight-seeing on Cape Cod. - BroadwayBaby

Smaller campground, nice wooded individual sites, excellent restroom and shower facilities. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Washers/dryers took quarters only, but there was no change machine. That's my only complaint. - NJMom
Aug 2016 - $62.00
We made reservations a full year ago and paid the required deposit. Upon checking in this year we were confronted with a MUCH higher balance than was stated when we made the reservation. We had the printout from a year ago but that didn't matter. The clerk explained that the price had gone up yet no contact was made to let us know in advance. It was a huge increase and it put a significant "damper" on our vacation. They had our phone number and email information and failed to let us know about this increase.
Also, they claimed that we had 30 amp electric service but we tripped a breaker twice, not the one at our site but one somewhere else in the park. We have a small travel trailer and have NEVER tripped a breaker before. - Dewer

Sep 2017 - $50.00
Beautiful campground in a convenient location to explore Cape Cod as well as Plymouth/Boston. Sweetwater Forest is an adequate name, as the campground is heavily forested. Our campsite was large and very private. Office staff was friendly and helpful. Be aware that the campground does not have a laundry on site. Otherwise, a great place to stay. - Rich and Judith
Apr 2017 - $45.00
We stayed here in early April, just after the park opened for the season. It was mostly empty so gloriously quiet. The woman manning the check-in desk was pleasant and helpful. She gave us a choice of sites and we took a short walk to check them out and make our selection. They do have sites suitable for larger rigs, but they also have some really tight, steep, twisty roads leading to sites for small rigs or tents, and you do not want to inadvertently turn down one of these roads with your 40' motorhome and toad. Be sure you know the route to your site. Our $45 rate reflects the early season discount of $10. - affreeman
Sep 2016 - $50.00
This is a large, family-owned campground nestled among the hills and trees. It is centrally located on Cape Cod. The office and camp store are well equipped and staffed. It has some facilities and events for kids and families, though I did not use these.
The campsites are rather artfully placed among the trees and hills. Even though they are rather close together, they don't feel crowded. I really liked my site on Loop C. Facilities were above average, restrooms very clean and roomy.
All in all, this is a great campground. My only real annoyance is the half-mile or so of bumpy gravel road at the entrance. I also wish they had laundry facilities. I recommend this facility to others and will return if ever in the area again. - BobbyG2016

Nightly rate includes reservation fee and out of state up charge. Over the last 2 years, they've been upgrading the campground and facilities. They've updated the bath houses, installed 50 am electric at all sites and this year repaved the roads and site pads. The friends of Scusset have been adding new playground equipment near the beach and I only wish I was small enough to try the climbing wall, etc. Our Verizon and Verizon hot spot worked well. Many over the air TV channels. So if you like sand dunes and salty air being able to walk to the beach and ride your bikes along the canal, this is a lovely place to stay. Our fisherman loved the striped bass fishing at the canal and even caught a keeper. - PENNY
Sep 2016 - $39.00
We have stayed at this campground several times in the past few years. We absolutely love the location for proximity to the beach, canal, and bike path. Spacious sites, scenic views, friendly neighbors, good water, new electrical system, improved bathrooms & showers, fishing pier - almost heaven. Only the addition of a sewer system would bring my rating up to 10. TV reception varies by site - some get up to 14 channels and some get only a few. - Aracz
May 2016 - $39.00
Just spent 10 days here visiting family in the area. Site was level and had no issue getting our new 42" 5th wheel into space #58 with room to spare. All of the sites are large and well spread apart. While we were there they had an issue with the hot water boiler in the rest rooms and were in the process of replacing. They had offered to allow us to reschedule, but we told them we had our own hot water and it would not be an issue. - dhshaw

No frills! This is an open field with 5 sites on it that offer water, electric and sewer. The sites are at least 100 feet long - pull through - and far apart. Lots of elbow room. The field is grass and the sites are gravel. Very quiet and secluded. The utilities were good and steady and water pressure was over 60 pounds of pressure so we regulated down to 60 pounds of pressure. The park (if that's what you want to call it) is deep into the USCG Joint Base which is very large with huge areas of open land; so to go anywhere you travel a good bit to get there. The exchange is a small grocery store and the back is the other stuff. Not bad at all. Verizon cell service was good, no wifi, no cable, no bathrooms, showers, etc. This is a good place to hang your hat while visiting the area. Just realize ahead of time that it offers no amenities and is off the beaten path. (LOL - that's okay too because the traffic in Cape Cod is very bad!) - jomark

Nice place but like many of our state parks it is neglected. Sites need maintenance, showers are not cleaned, at least not in the last 4 nights. On the plus side its a good price in nice surrounding's in the middle of Cape Cod. Yes, I'd stay here again. - padlin00
Aug 2015 - $22.00
Quiet state CG, very rustic, located in the middle of Cape Cod. Surrounded by woods, I loved it. We camped in my Volkswagon Westfalia, and didn't even need the awning, the trees provided so much shade. Go down the road and eat at JT's restaurant for delicious fried clams and lobster. Park has kettle ponds for fishing and swimming, but the bike trail is its' main attraction.
Note that the quiet hours and other rules are strictly enforced, forget using a generator at night, or drinking a beer. I'll be back soon. - JudoJeff
Sep 2011 - $16.00
Beautiful park. Beware, if you camp here in a motorhome or trailer and want to use a generator .. don't count on it being OK. In, NON quiet hours, if some or any campers complain, you have to shut off the generator or you will be kicked out - period. We were here in off season during the week and had a refrigerator failure on the gas side. To bad they said, buy some ice or go to the parking lot. - User1400
