Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park. I don't understand the past negative reviews. It is fairly large with 245 sites, and 80-90% are seasonal use, but well maintained and attractive. Private beach on Vineyard Sound, with great activities for kids and adults. Snack bar on site is very nice, store is well stocked and staff very helpful. Cable is excellent, WIFI was awful during the weekend, but to be expected. Right next door is a good beach restaurant. 50 amp service was fine, water pressure good, sewer is an odd issue here. Can only dump gray water. A truck pumps your black out on Tuesday and Friday, or you can use the dump stations. A whole new sewer system will be installed 2018-2019 winter. Interior roads were tight but navigable with my F350 pulling 34 ft fifth wheel. Some pads concrete, our pull through was gravel, but fine and we arrived after a big rain. Very pretty grounds. Well worth staying here. Very good price for Cape Cod and terrific location. We camped at Campers Haven RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Cape is very expensive in-season, but lots to do and the dining is excellent. Campers Haven is centrally located and works well as a base camp for Cape/Boston activities.

Mostly dilapidated Park models and trailers. RV sites were only a few and down in the 'hollow' which means they had no sewer because it was not functioning. Instead, they would drive a truck by and pump the black water for you which is nice, but necessary. Their location is on the beach. We camped at Campers Haven RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This campground has 275 very crowded sites with only 9 for transients. The others are permanent seasonal sites, connected with many narrow, twisting roads, really tight for our 36' coach. We had trouble following the map because we couldn't find street names. I hate to think how crowded it must be with all the seasonal campers there. Check-in was seamless except that the power didn't work, but they fixed it right away. WiFi worked well. On the other hand, cable was disappointing. They gave us a list of 100 channels, with the statement "we don't work on TVs." Maybe that's because there are really only about 14 channels, most of them grainy. But the really weird thing was that although they list "sewer" on their website and it is listed on this site, when we were checking in, they told us the sewer was only for gray water. We couldn't use it for black water. WHAT??? In decades of camping, we have never run into this. Maybe it had something to do with the seasonal sites being shut down, but it was never explained. They have a dump station, but having to disconnect and move to dump is really inconvenient. Our coach blocked the road while we were dumping. The biggest plus for us was that campfires are prohibited. We can't tolerate smoke and usually have to seal ourselves up in our coach. They do have places to barbeque. We might stay here again but probably not in season. We camped at Campers Haven RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Location was easy to find and navigate. Being located mid cape, it provided a nice base camp for exploring all parts of Cape Cod. Staff was very friendly, and we were escorted to the site, thankfully. Interior roads are paved, but narrow, and wind through the crowded maze of mostly seasonal and permanent park models to the RV site. Site itself was concrete and we were on an end so had plenty of grass area and privacy. Utilities were well located and worked fine. Bathrooms were close by and needed a code to enter. Private beach was right across the road, an easy walk with chairs and cooler. On the weekends the private beach was a blessing, as the adjacent public beach became quite crowded. There is one restaurant/bar within walking distance and we ate their once. It was okay and the prices were decent. We would definitely return here. We camped at Campers Haven RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Easy access from major highway. Call for directions as entrance to the park is easier to make coming from the opposite direction that the GPS will direct you. Check in was pleasant and easy. Gated community with card access.

First on the list is internet access. While they have Tengo here with free passes, if it is a holiday weekend and the park is full, internet of any kind does not work. Verizon is also non existent on these days and wound up being almost useless to us the entire time with a poor signal on our Mifi. Satellite access no problem in most sites.

There are several transient sites interspersed throughout this park among many small cottages and permanent parked RV's. Residents are mostly friendly. Sites are nicely landscaped and pleasant to look at. Four paved RV sites face the busy Old Wharf Rd. with a white fence separating sites from the road. Our site was one of these and a little difficult to get in and out of with our Big Rig. Paved pad was just long enough for the coach. Had to park our car beside of the coach on the grass. Utilities are easily accessible. Small shade trees in the park. Most all sites have concrete pads with all having picnic tables. No campfires permitted. Did not use restrooms.

There is a sidewalk alongside Old Wharf Rd. across from the campground that has many walkers, joggers and runners. Park is pet friendly until mid June and no dogs allowed on "small" beach area after Memorial Day until later in the season, no exceptions as the sign says.

Lots of things to do close by as this is a historical area. Many seafood restaurants in the area. Grocery stores easily accessible. We camped at Campers Haven RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Location, location, location! Right accross the road from the beach. The "premium pull-in sites" have a concrete pad with full hookups, cable TV and a picnic table. There are only 4 of these sites directly accross the road from the beach, so reserve early. Although this is a PA park, they don't offer this discount on these sites, however they did offer the 10% Good Sam discount. The park has other premium and standard sites where they offer the PA discount, but not accross from the beach. While this is a good sized park they have only about 30 RV sites. The rest of the sites are small cottages. We camped at Campers Haven RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice enough place. Mostly permanent or seasonal residents. Not many people there in September during our visit. We had a concrete pad pull thru site which was very nice. Dogs welcome in slow season only. We camped at Campers Haven RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Staff is pleasant. Stayed in a fifth wheel. Sites are very tight for a 35 foot rig, which is why the main reason for the 6 rating. Site was grassy and included an astro-turf patio pad. Needed to use boards to level rig. Interior roads are paved. Laundry and bath house were clean. Access to the small private ocean beach across an unbusy street is convenient. I just had the best camping experience I've had in a long time. The manager of the campground was very helpful getting me into my spot and telling me all about the park and the local restaurants and fun things to do. The beach in awesome and very clean. I tried to make a reservation for next year and they are booked up for next year for the week I wanted. I was lucky to get a week for August of next year. Make your reservation early if you want to stay her. Can't wait to get back here next year. We camped at Campers Haven RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Great Location. Beach is beautiful. Sites are tight. The park is nice. The only drawback is the super rude guy in the office. He is extremely arrogant, abrupt, and rude. Mostly seasonal sites. The nightly rental sites are not shaded at all. It is a perfect location to set up camp and plan daily excursions around the cape and islands. The private beach abuts a public one. Not a big deal. Kid friendly park. We camped at Campers Haven RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We camped just feet from the water. The sites were the smallest I have ever been on. The beach was nice. The man who works in the office is very rude. He would make rude comments and would walk around the campsite to talk to everyone. He would even peek in the camper windows to see what people were doing. They are also very unorganized there. Only nice part about this campground is that is is right on the water. We camped at Campers Haven RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Very tight campground. We have a 40 ft so it is accessible, but you need to be very competent in your abilities. Roads approaching campground get very small too. They have few transient sites some in back and some in front. Front sites look across the street at houses that look at the ocean. There is a beach across the street but it served many people and got crowded. There was a small restaurant/ice cream bar on site. This spot is all about location, you could rent a small cottage with the same space for a few $100, so good value if this is where you want to be. A good park to stay with free beach access (which is nice for Cape Cod). You are in the middle, about one hour drive to Province town. Avoid the summer months, much too busy. June and September are great. We camped at Campers Haven RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We felt like the daily use sites are in the low rent district stuck way in the back of the park. The site was tight even for a 26' trailer. Some of the sites were so littered with chairs, bikes etc. it had the appearance of an ongoing garage sale. The restrooms were cramped and when I reported that the toilet was malfunctioning they said they would look at it AGAIN. The next day it still didn't work. It hardly makes me want to go back to cape Cod. We camped at Campers Haven RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This park is mostly seasonal campers with a few spots for rent. Our spot was at the front of the park giving us a somewhat obstructed view of the ocean from our windshield. (Us, fence, street, houses, beach, water: About 80-90 yards depending on tide.) Our location made it really easy to walk to the private beach (associated with the campground). The site was a very level concrete pad with very good access to the utilities. The site also had a round picnic table in the "patio area." Parking for an additional car is available beside the patio area. Sites are compact, but large enough to use slideouts. Use of awnings would be discouraged due to the gusty winds coming off of the ocean. There was noise coming from the street nightly (this is a busy touristy area of the Cape right beside the beach), but it didn't bother us at all. (Our 3 yr old was able to sleep easily at night). The camp store is small, the operators and staff friendly, and a snack bar/dairy bar is in operation there as well. When we checked in we were guided to our site by the staff. Wi-Fi is available, but we were unable to get on because we weren't sure if it was free or charged, and we didn't ask the office for clarification. The signal strength was very good, however, and there seemed to be three separate signals for the park. All in all, the park served our needs. It is located near almost everything in Dennis Port and not far from major roads to get to other areas of the Cape. We camped at Campers Haven RV Resort in a Motorhome.
