We stayed at the park over Labor Day weekend. The arrival process was very good. Our site was good, fairly level, hard packed dirt and gravel. Maple Street has some nice wide level sites. We had a problem with the water spigot handle being broken and some branches hanging over the trailer. I went to the office and before I got back to the site two employees had already been there and took care of both minor problems. There were two pools both very clean. They had a pirate weekend for the kids that was excellent. The store was well stocked and reasonably priced. They will deliver firewood to your site. Everyone we spoke with on the staff was polite and helpful. There was one noisy area in the campground where a large group was, it did go a little late, about midnight but not out of control. This is an older park and some things are a little dated. The bathhouse was kept tidy but could use renovation. I would recommend this place highly. We camped at Canoe River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The bathrooms had mildew on the shower and toilet stalls. When I brought it to their attention, they argued with me. I was told that they were cleaned and given excuses. The staff was very rude. The sites are very small. We will never stay there again. We camped at Canoe River Campground in a Tent Trailer.

This a Lovely old park that needs a bit of love. We were camped under the trees and it keeped us cooler by 10 degrees. Sight was level enough. Staff were helpful. Guest were friendly. Wifi was good at times. Internal roads were good even after a down pour. You just had to take your time over and pothole that appeared. The road to and from the campground are full of potholes so approach carefully. Sights were large. Would stay here again. We camped at Canoe River Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We drove to Boston and parked For $40 a day. The price of 2 return tickets by train. Traffic wasn't to bad and it only took an hour after 9.00am. A sail on a tall ship in the harbor was lovely. Boston Pops was fun but u dont have to get there at 11.00am as the place didn't fill up till about 3 or later. Ladies Roses Nail salon in Easton was good.

We had a group of 4 rigs in the Pull Through, PT 14- PT23 section. These sites are larger than most of the rest and we had good satellite service. We had no problem with large dogs and the owner told us the person that had the pit bulls (see prior review) was not a permanent or seasonal. The park is large and has a large number of campers. We used the limo to and from the train station and they never failed to pick us up. We would return IF we could get a site in that section. Most of the other sites are too small for a 40' rig and are surrounded by many trees. We had good 50 amp service. We camped at Canoe River Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great Ice Cream and produce stand 1/2 mile north.

More than 33 flavors. Four service windows. There is a great cafe across from the park downtown that is open for breakfast and lunch with no price gouging of tourists. Example: $ 6.99 for omelet with all sides. Need a tire? Try New England Tire. If you plan to drive and park at the railroad station, check out the location and parking in advance. Senior tickets are $5 to Boston and sold in the train station.

This is a nice old school campground. Perfect for kids if your not hyper protective as there bunch of play areas, two pools and a lake/pond with paddle boat and canoe rentals available. I paid 270. a week so it broke down to 39. a night. Some sites are huge while others are only OK for smaller campers or tents. They let you drive through to check out the sites before paying. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely return if I'm in this part of the country again. We camped at Canoe River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

If you own a dog, do not visit this park. There are at least two sets of pit bulls owned by permanent residents who attack other dogs regularly. I witnessed a severe attack and the owner of the victim dog was taken off his feet and injured while trying to defend his poor pet.

This is a relatively large campground with too many permanent residents. There are apparently no clutter limits at each site. At one site there was an old sofa parked outside as if it belonged. The roads are certainly accessible and most of the sites are level with adequate shade. Weekend activities load up the energy in the park for the kids. The best thing about this park is its convenience to seeing Lizzy Borden's home just a few minutes away.

We stayed here twice in summer/fall of 2014. First time for two months. Our site was very nice but in the middle of two roads. There are a lot of seasonal sites. Weekends and holidays were crazy busy. After Labor Day the place cleared out. We will definitely return as they are the best value the area. We camped at Canoe River Campground in a Motorhome.

This place is okay if all you expect is a level place to park, decent water pressure and 50 amp service. WiFi is awful. If you do get it, it's super slow. You only have free access for 2 hours a day. There's pick up and delivery from the train station during the week. Very nice. Check in was chaotic. It was Labor Day weekend and the entrance was jammed. If you've got a big rig be careful upon entering between a large boulder on one side and the key gate on the other. No site escort. They should require the seasonal places to pressure wash and keep their places tidy. They are awful and gives the place a "hood" feel. I even saw a guy looking for bottles and cans in the dumpsters the first couple of days. Sites are grass, dirt and gravel. Roads are mainly dirt and gravel. The grass we do have needs mowing. An employee came out with a weed eater and cut a few weeds on the site next to us and left. The other sites and the dog area (about a foot tall in places) remained untouched. Tons of kids and roving teens while we were there. Cars parked everywhere. Some sites had 4 and 5 cars. Too crowded. The place did thin out after the holiday weekend and might be okay for a couple of days if you're just looking for a place to stay while visiting the city. Just don't expect too much. We camped at Canoe River Campground in a Motorhome.

This park was not clean and needed mowing. I think they tried to see how many tents they could cram on one site. There were cars parked everywhere. Small children were running in the roads unsupervised. People were walking about openly drinking beer and liquor. Large groups of rowdy teens gathered near the pool and bridge. Very old campers that obviously been there for a very long time were parked on sites. I DO NOT recommend this park! We camped at Canoe River Campground in a Motorhome.

Let me begin by saying the staff was friendly and the site was level. The CG advertises free limo service to and from the train station. They were on time in the morning getting you to the station but they failed to pick us up twice. Both times, we had to catch a cab back to the CG after waiting for the no show limo. The park is really dirty and some of the full time sites only add to the unattractiveness of the park. There is duck poop everywhere and the lakes are gross. Whatever you do, do not put that turn signal on and turn in here. We will stay here again only if the snow is too deep in Florida and we can not get to our parking site. We stayed on site LS 8 which we had to back down a hill to get to. Which was fine, it took a few times to get it level. Other than that, site was large and very wooded. Backed up to the lake. Also, on the weekend we were here they had truck or treating for the kids which was fun. Hayrides and other things to do. Will definitely be back. Might even try a seasonal site here. We stayed here for a week while visiting the area. Our site had a view of the river with geese, ducks and swans. The site could have used a bit of a clean up, but was okay. We paid the $10 for Internet for a week and it worked fine. We stayed here for a week and live full-time in our RV with two cats. We camped at Canoe River Campground in a Motorhome.

This campground is beautiful. We were there for the 4th of July and were delighted by the campground parade with lots of kids. They appeared to have "scheduled" events throughout the summer. We thought this was an outstanding campground. We camped at Canoe River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Price reflects added $3 day for internet, which we did not use and $1 for hot shower water. Rate we paid is $38. This is a seasonal and residential camp with scheduled activities. It is kid heaven. It is in wetlands fully of walking, flying and swimming creatures and quiet except for campers. Good campfire wood and camping sites near or away from "action". Great place to bike, walk or jog but not to drive. Front desk staff and camp store are great. Closest to tent camping "in the woods" possible. Entire camp needs a working weekend to pick up site trash and scrub showers and bathrooms. Showers and bathrooms need ventilation. We would return, except my wife, which means we would not, sadly. From 10 -1 Bathrooms, -1 showers. +1 camp staff. +1 value We camped at Canoe River Campground in a Tent Trailer.
