I see a lot of nice reviews here, but here is our review. There is a $5 surcharge to book online. It is listed on-line, but they charge $5 per night for your pet and there are no dog parks or dog runs. The campground is unkempt. We checked in after the required time, but our campsite had not been mowed. The brush was at least a foot tall. After contacting them twice to take care of it, and keeping our area cleared for them, they came 24 hours later and still looked terrible.  We specifically requested site number 9 because it was Lakefront view.  You cannot see the lake through all the brush. The campsite can't help where they're located, but there is a shooting range next door and planes flying overhead. The showers are $0.25 for only 3 minutes.  They have not cleaned the shower or emptied the trash in two days.   For $67 per night we say this is a bit pricey.  This could be a very nice campsite if they maintained it.  We camped at Pinewood Lodge Campground in a Travel Trailer.

All in all a very nice large campground with generally spacious sites. Site #26 was especially long and spacious for our 40 foot rig and toad. We used the fire ring to good effect with the nice stones/rock setup. The lodge personnel were friendly. The store was well stocked and they service ice cream until 9pm. Satellite didn't work with all of the wonderful tree canopy but the over sixty channels on cable more then compensated. I would return to this site. Plymouth has a lot to offer. We camped at Pinewood Lodge Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

While this park could be a destination in itself, you should visit Plymouth Rock, take a harbor cruise on Capt John's Mississippi Steam boat, check out the Plimoth Village and eat clam strips at the Lobster Hut hear the harbor.

The park was over priced for the services, its a large park in the woods dirt sites and lots of seasonal campers. The pond is nice and the beach is kept clean. The fire wood was expensive, you could bring your own but it couldn't touch the ground it had to come from your vehicle and into to the fire pit. If you had a visitor no matter what using the facilities or not it was $10. The only full hook up sites were on the entrance road, we got to see all the comings and goings for a week and witnessed the total disregard for the speed limit. I lived in Plymouth for 25 years and didn't know this place existed we came back to visit and found it. The staff was friendly and helpful but it was all about the cash. We camped at Pinewood Lodge Campground in a Motorhome.

On a four month travel from Tucson up into the N.E. Hard to find an RV park mid-Oct in this area. Chose this one and it's fine. Setting is in the woods, heavily treed, rustic camping, yet with full hook-ups. Staff was friendly & helpful. This is a summertime retreat with a large lodge, lake and seemingly a myriad of activities for families escaping the Boston area. We'd stay again. We camped at Pinewood Lodge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Charge extra for pets ($10 per night for 2). Will charge you for a full propane tank even if your tank is not completely empty (mine was at about 1/3 full so I didn't get it filled). Lots of rules and regulations. Absolutely nothing private about the showers--door opens to the shower curtains facing the door. Very few restrooms so my friends, who were unlucky enough not to have their own bathroom, had to really trek to use the facilities and being able to cut through my site cut off a little of the distance. We camped at Pinewood Lodge Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Our site was a back-in that was a bit off the road. We had to block up the front of the coach (even with jacks), since the site wasn't level. No breaker at the power box. Decent sewer connection. Very wooded. The staff in the office was friendly and efficient. Quite smokey from all the campfires. We camped at Pinewood Lodge Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The whale watching trip through Captain John's was a delight (coming from a retired boat captain). We enjoyed walking around the waterfront area at Plymouth, since it wasn't as crowded as other places we stayed in Cape Cod area. Good restaurants in Plymouth. Not too far from a Walmart (less than 5 miles). In order to get a decent Verizon signal, we had to use a booster (we don't use the campgrounds' wifi).

The park was pretty tight and we didn't get to see or use the whole park because we travel with our dogs and half of it is closed off if you have dogs. On this trip we had 2 other adults staying with us and they charged us an extra $40 a night ($20 for each adult). This was a bit much but it was on their website and I must of missed it when I booked us. We camped at Pinewood Lodge Campground in a Motorhome.

We really enjoyed being in pine trees with natural grass/dirt campsite again. Our site had electric & water & we were able to schedule a holding tank pump out mid week for an extra $20. This was a great place for sightseeing - Old Plymouth, Boston & Cape Cod all close. We camped at Pinewood Lodge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We chose to ride a commuter bus into Boston to avoid driving our big truck in that traffic. Commuter rail is also available. Would suggest 2 or 3 mid-week days for Cape Cod.

This campground is huge! There is a good mix of long term/seasonal and weekend/temporary campers. We were here over the July 4 weekend, and it was obvious this was the place for families to get away, and probably even some family reunions. There were tons of kids, not surprising since there is a lot to keep them entertained, but it could be loud at times. There were several scheduled events - a dance and a band while we were there, but we didn't attend. Our site was the most unlevel site we've ever been in. A good size, but still tight based on how were had to park and one random tree. Showers were reasonably clean, but did not feel very private, so we didn't use them. Overall, not a bad campground, just more "action" that we tend to like. We camped at Pinewood Lodge Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Pinewood is a great place to stay while day tripping to the various attractions in the area, including whale watching visiting the Plimoth Plantation (yes, that's the correct spelling), etc. The campground is clean and well kept, with the maintenance staff continually on the move as they clean vacated sites, mow, and clean the restrooms. There is a nice swimming beach on the adjacent small lake, and fishing is allowed nearby. The sites a packed sand, and our full hookup pull-thru site was very level and spacious. The many tall pine trees made satellite reception a challenge, but doable. The power, cable, water, and sewer connections were centrally located, and easy to reach. There were numerous children playing during the day, but the campground was very quiet at night. There is a gun range and municipal airport nearby with occasional noises from both, but only during the day. Pine pollen and tree caterpillars were abundant while we were there, but both are just seasonal and beyond the control of the management of course. The Verizon cell signal was on the weak side but usable, and with our Maximum Signal amplifier turned on, data speeds were very good. The campground WiFi service is free for the first hour, but fairly slow especially in the evenings. We really enjoyed our stay here, and will return again in the future. We camped at Pinewood Lodge Campground in a Motorhome.

There are many tourist attractions nearby in the Plymouth area, as well as many fine seafood restaurants. For breakfast, we particularly liked the Blueberry Muffin in Kingston. Capt. John's Whale Watch boat trip was a real treat with many sightings and photo ops.

We are actually longtime residents of Plymouth & live literally down the street from Pinewood Lodge. We wanted to "get away" for a quick weekend & check out this campground. We stayed at site 96 - down a cul de sac right across from one of the playground. It was a pretty good level site. Fabulous fire pits! Spacious site. The lake was nice, we relaxed at the beach, did a little fishing. Overall, a nice campground - nice woods, would recommend. Good location - 3 miles from Plymouth waterfront. Nice park, but close to shooting range. For 2 days during the daylight hours, loud continuous "pops" were going off. Not relaxing at all. Lake and beach were nice, but you can't see them from the campground. No real area for dogs (they charge $5 extra for a dog), and they must stay within a certain area when being walked. Camped on site 80 in my Volkswagon camper. Very level, and a short walk to the lake. This was pre-season, so campground was very quiet. Liked the playground for the kids, fishing off the dock, (didn't catch anything), and the woodsy feel of the place. We camped at Pinewood Lodge Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Technically, you're on Cape Cod, but because I fly to the Cape frequently, didn't do any "Cape" activities. Would be easy to spend a week here and not run out of interesting places to visit. Ocean fishing on the canal is not far away.
