On a four month travel from Tucson up into the N.E. Hard to find an RV park mid-Oct in this area. Chose this one and it's fine. Setting is in the woods, heavily treed, rustic camping, yet with full hook-ups. Staff was friendly & helpful. This is a summertime retreat with a large lodge, lake and seemingly a myriad of activities for families escaping the Boston area. We'd stay again. - TPDBOB8687
Jul 2017 - $61.00
Charge extra for pets ($10 per night for 2). Will charge you for a full propane tank even if your tank is not completely empty (mine was at about 1/3 full so I didn't get it filled). Lots of rules and regulations. Absolutely nothing private about the showers--door opens to the shower curtains facing the door. Very few restrooms so my friends, who were unlucky enough not to have their own bathroom, had to really trek to use the facilities and being able to cut through my site cut off a little of the distance. - Scldg
Jul 2017 - $59.00
Our site was a back-in that was a bit off the road. We had to block up the front of the coach (even with jacks), since the site wasn't level. No breaker at the power box. Decent sewer connection. Very wooded. The staff in the office was friendly and efficient. Quite smokey from all the campfires. - DreamCaptn

This park is old, it has no pads, it has gravel roads, dirt sites and the cable tv service is hit or miss, ours stayed OUT almost all of the time we were there, they ran a cable across several sites to plug into another site and even then, it failed a few hours later. Office said rules were quiet time at 10:00 and absolutely no fires after 10:00 pm, there was a Work Kamper two sites next to us and there was a trailer pulled in next to us and next to the Work Kamper and they had 3 or 4 carloads of guys come in and all of them carrying cases of beer, they built a bonfire that worried me and they put speakers outside and blasting music all night, 2:30 am they were still going at it and the work kamper did nothing about it, I called the security number that the office gives out and it has a recording that says leave a message and they will get back to you the next day, that is some security isn't it! The racket next to us went on until after 4:15 am and so did the bonfire and the Campground Workers did nothing about it and said nothing about it and they did not charge all the visitors that stayed in and around the trailer until the next morning when all of them got up and left. This park is unruly and not a family orientated campground, someone should fire that staff and hire a staff that would post the rules and enforce the rules. I cannot and would NOT recommend this KOA, in fact it should not be called a KOA, it is not up to KOA standards. - GA-RVers

Very closed in, small, tight sites. Good proximity to travel out from the park to Boston, Cape Cod etc. We could get our tow vehicle on our site, but barely. - mdjr
Oct 2017 - $48.00
Kind of in the middle of nowhere. Park is a little in need of TLC. Stay away from the upper camping area, really bad roads and unlevel spaces. We were camping elsewhere and extended our vacation staying here. We were able to check out the campground the day before we moved there. Staff was very nice about letting us pick a different campsite. Store was sadly stocked. - Retired Medic

Making the reservation was easy and the woman I spoke to very welcoming. Bathrooms are scary and dark.. and desperately need updating. Mini golf is overpriced and not very appealing . Showers aren't great either . Season sites are very run down and the "store" is a small back room with some items. Lakes are pretty. Playground is big. Sites are literally on top of each other where we are . We need to check in with the neighbors to let us drive in and out . Site size is pretty big but zero lighting near the ball field where we are . Makes it a little tougher to find the bathrooms at night . They had a meat raffle last night and all the campers seemed pretty happy. No angry people . There is a lot of sand and dirt which my daughter loves , but definitely bring sneakers !! - Camping mom Kris
Jul 2011 - $45.00
Let me start by saying that this campground has tremendous potential. The grounds are very nice, mostly wooded and includes several ponds. Another nice feature is the bar that is located on-site that includes live entertainment on weekends. Now the negatives. The staff members that we came across during our stay were very rude! I think campground employee's sometimes forget that the campers are the campground's customers and without them they wouldn't have jobs. We found the sites to be very small and extremely close together. Upon setting up our travel trailer once we opened the awning there were literally tent stakes from the tents in the site next to ours under our awning. I'm sure there are better sites within the campground however they are few and far between. Last but not least ten dollars per person for friends/family to visit the campground is ridiculous. I would not recommend this campground and I won't be back. Stay away! - Mikeynas

This was a typical campground where the teenagers get very loud at night around the basket ball courts until 11 pm or 12 am. The sites are not very big at all. - v245059

Aug 2017 - $54.00
We stayed over the week of labor day. We liked the pullthru area. 50 amps and sewer. The Big Rig area had no trees & that is alright with me. All the barking & kids noise was over in the well kept camp areas away from us. There many seasonal campers here. Lots of things for family & kids to enjoy. The staff were friendly. Service was great & the Camp was clean. This really is a great spot. The only issue we had was the laundry. We are fulltime and found the laundry facility to be the only thing lacking. There simply were not enough washers or dryers. With 300 or so campsites, 5 units did not meet the demands. - KodiTzu
Jun 2015 - $54.00
This park was one of the best we've stayed at. They have rows of seasonal campsites, some of which could use cleaning up, but if you stay in the area of the day campers, you will be fine. We had full hookups with 50 amp, and the spaces were very wide on both sides. The area has large trees, and it is a great camping experience. The staff is super-friendly and accommodating. They have a higher daily rate over the weekend (Fri-Sun). We could not get satellite TV because of the trees, but we were able to get 24 over-the-air channels, so we could keep up with the news and some of our favorite shows on network TV. They do offer Wi-Fi, and once connected, is fairly fast. It is close to Plymouth, and Boston is 1 hour away. - Ferdy

Giant state park with a nice network of hiking paths and paved bike trails. We stayed at the lower end of Fearing Pond at site H9. We chose the Fearing Pond loop after reading other reviews that mentioned the main Charge Pond camping area had a reputation for being a little rowdier and noisy, even after quiet hours. For the most part, the Fearing loop was quiet, but the campsites are very close to each other with no vegetation or cover between sites. This also means that it is easy to hear conversations of campers at nearby sites.
Our site was an easy walk to Fearing Pond, where there was a nice, small beach. We were told over the phone that no non-marine-grade flotation devices were allowed in the water, but many families brought inflatable floats and appeared to use them without trouble. There are no kayaks to rent on-site, but there is a rental place a few miles away, with the guideline of renting for no less than a full day, and transporting it to and from the camp on your own.
There were multiple potable water stations and dump stations located on a loop behind the check-in station, for easy fill-up/dumping on the way in or out of the park. Additionally, many potable water stations were located throughout the loops in the park. - malsbury
Jun 2012 - $12.00
First time visitors to this campground. We were in the Charge Pond area A and half of the other areas were closed. I don't know if they open up more as the season picks up. The beach area at Charge Pond was nice. The water was clear, there was good fishing, and it wasn't busy at all. The campground was clean with sandy sites and that near the ocean kind of feel. There is about 20 feet of forest between each site. The kids enjoyed riding their bikes on the paved bike paths. Make sure you have a map and pre-plan your trip as it can get confusing without one. We were hoping to climb the fire tower but it was locked up. We would go back again, but it's kind of a long drive. Oh, the bathroom had a door that was left open but it didn't matter because there wasn't a screen on it. - B. P. Donelan
Jul 2010 - $14.00
We camped here on a weekend where all sites were full, but found the Barrett's Pond area very quiet. Our site (J11) was small but level. Backing in was tricky due to a small incline, but I was able to do it on the first try. After exploring the park, I realized that there was only a handful of sites that were level enough for a travel trailer, and we clearly had the largest TT in the park. Park is more suited to pop-ups and tents. Firewood cannot be taken in or out of Massachusetts parks due to the ALH beetle, but firewood is reasonably priced. Bike paths made this dry camping experience worth it. 15 miles of paved paths; however, they are very hilly, and would be difficult for small children to pedal on their own. The College Pond swimming area is nice and has a small sandy beach and a place for renting kayaks/canoes. The weekend we were there, we arrived at 10AM and people had already begun placing belongings on all the picnic tables in the park. Guests can use the lake on a day pass, so there were many very large groups playing music and cooking all around us. The water was nice and the experience would have been better if it had been limited to camping patrons only. - Craig family

We had a wonderful time hiking around the well marked trails and swimming in the lake. The sites varied in level but were fine for our little travel trailer. There was enough to do without leaving the campground for simple bike riding, hiking, and swimming. It is really nicely located for day trips to Plymouth and Cape Cod. Park Rangers were visable making the campground safer for the single camper. I would recommend this State Park to anyone for a simple trip or group rally. - sleepless

We are currently staying here, the road into the campground has add gravel added and is much better. Sites are all dirt. Streets are dirt and muddy, lots of pot holes. WiFi sucks and they want you to pay for it. AT&T cell coverage is bad so mifi will not work, maybe a booster will help, but I don't own one. Too Many Trees. I know I'm camping, but make some room for modern campers with slides. Choice of putting slides out or awnings, of course we choose the sliders. Hookups are convenient. I would stay here again because my 30 days are "free", but not worth much $$ - Retsub

We are new elite members and have enjoyed our TT membership greatly. We are full time and it is a big benefit for us. We just left the campground of Gateway to Cape Cod and we have some serious concerns about the resort. We have been full time now for about a year and have stayed in 20 plus resorts in south and eastern coast. The resort at Cape Cod is by far the worst we have ever stayed in. The entrance road is dirt with so many mud holes that is is almost impossible to enter the resort. Once inside, the gate was unmanned and not working. During our week there I never once saw one person manning the gate for security. Every road in the park was almost impassible due to water and terrible mud. I almost got stuck in motor home and auto on several occasions. It is almost impossible to distinquise the roads from sites within park, you must be extremely carelful to be certain you remain on the roads. I asked staff about road conditions and her response was well we don't have a tractor and every time we scrape them it rains and it messes them up again. I asked if there were plans to pave any of roads expecially entrance road and her response was that it had been planned for years but only when money allowed. She said TT had owned park for over 10 years and no road work has been done. I said at least they could put gravel on roads since all of them are sand and mud. I told her it was once of worst I had seen and she got ugly and said well I don't guess you haven't camped very much. Not good customer response to a member. No staff was ever seen on the grounds except in store when I went in and no guard at the gate ever. Not up to standard we were promised with our intro to TT. Can you please pass this on for hopeful help with this park. All of ours have been awesome so far but I don't know if I could go back to this one again. - revrick3

Nice Park as others have said the surface is dirt but plenty of shade cover. All sites are full hook ups and have 50 amp service. WIFI with Verizon was average but you can get by with it. Road into park as stated is part gravel and was very bad, pot holes everywhere and rough. Park is central to allot to be done in thew area from day trips to Boston or out to the cape. Also we did day trips into Rhode Island from this location. Apart from the road we enjoyed our two weeks there and will go back in the future. - M5Adventures

This was a great campground, the facilities were always clean ,the park was always clean, all campers were respectful of the people around them. There was plenty to do in the area ,but if you wanted you would never have to leave the campground ,there is food ,a clean beach and things for kids to do.My only complaint really has nothing to do with the campground ,my new camper and awning were completely covered in globs of tree sap after one week ,luckily I had a cover for my new super duty or it would have been covered too.no fault of the campground just fyi - gsull
Jul 2017 - $61.00
Just a warning......this park is "NOT" big rig friendly. I know they advertise that it is but it is not. Very nice upgraded wide dirt/gravel entry into the park, but when you get to the bridge where you have to take a left towards the office there is a tree that poses a problem, (and it's a bigger problem when you exit) then there are low hanging electric cables that will come in contact with your roof and equipment on your roof. Camp employees always will tell you that there will be no problem and that they have had bigger rigs in here than yours, but trust me you will be upset when you try to get into the park. We did not stay because we could not get up the hill past the office, so we left. But $61 was what they were going to charge us. - DonGott
Oct 2015 - $59.00
This campground is so under rated. We camped for the Columbus Day Holiday and the CG seemed to be at full capacity, stretching their facilities and staff to the breaking point. We found the CG to be clean but rustic, giving a pleasant experience in very clean campsites. The office staff was very busy with little to complain about and found them to be very helpful. The security staff seem to be well trained with much better than expected professional attitude. We didn't expect much after reading some previous reviews, but with a change in ownership, this campground has become a desirable family destination, with lots of activities all weekend for both kids and adults alike. There are limited hours allowed for campfires, 4:30 to midnight, which seems to be very reasonable, with security politely enforcing this rule while explaining these hours were part of their permit requirements from the local fire district and town of Wareham.
Maple Park seems to have a large seasonal population and golf carts are allowed and golf cart rentals were available.
The campground had a 'haunted Trail ride' utilizing the 'trolley' buses, amd a 10-15 min. ride through the dark forest, an added extra activity for the holiday weekend. Well organized and executed and immense fun and memories for our families weekend stay. We have already booked ahead for next years holiday weekend and look forward to our return. This campground was recommended to us by friends, and we highly recommend this wonderful CG to all of our RVing friends and family. - Captain Dave

We have been here 2 weeks and it has been outstanding. We are in site #10 - our back window is backed up to the Atlantic (about 10 feet from the edge of a cliff that drops off to the beach) while the front end faces the inlet to the marinas. With no one parked in #9 we have a 270 degree view. 180 if someone was in #9. It is spectacular. This location has remnants of WWII. There is an old observation tower that must have been used for sighting ships that could be a threat to the coast. There is also what appears to be an ammunition bunker. The concrete slabs are old and broken and cracked - all left over from days gone by. There has been a huge amount of beach erosion that got too close to the RV sites on the point and they had to stop using 3 of them. However there are some sites down there that are smaller and used for smaller RV's. The sites here, 9, 10 & 11 are fine for 40 + feet. There is also beach erosion here, but so far it does not threaten the RV sites. The water & sewer hook ups are on the wrong side of the RV and you have to cross them under the unit. Electric is at the rear. All utilities work fine. Our Verizon signal is good and we used hotspot. There is Wifi, but I wouldn't bother. Too slow. No cable, but wide open sky for satellite dish. The area - the town - is beautiful. If you like the look of 'New England' you'll have it spades here. The houses that line the beach are beautiful and when you cross the bridge there is a couple of restaurants. The Bridgewaye Inn is very good!!. The town of Marshfield has about anything you need in the way of groceries, restaurants etc. Hanover has a Walmart (not 'super'). Plymouth is a short distance (about 30 minutes) and a pretty town to visit. If you want to visit Boston, don't make the mistake we did. We drove in. Big mistake! There is a ferry that runs from Scituate straight to the Boston wharf. That's the way to do it. We would come here again and again. - jomark
Aug 2016 - $35.00
We spent a week here in their "new" area at the crest of the hill. This used to be their overflow area but has been improved to full hookup. The views from Site #15 are spectacular! No shade but wonderful breezes and clear, clean satellite reception. Quiet, well landscaped area, very pleasant staff, and handy laundry facilities. Great location to get in to Boston, Plymouth, or Foxboro with no hassle on Hwy 3A. We stayed here in a Class A 40ft Motorhome and will definitely return. - Steve & Linda
Jun 2016 - $35.00
Ditto PawPaw's comments. Electricity is available using the non-used circuit supplying site 10. Site 10 is the priority owner of either the 50 amp or 30 amp circuit and site 11 has use of the non-used circuit. Power pedestal for site 10 shows the 50 amp being used by site 10 and jointly used by site 11 for the 30 amp circuit. Additionally, it is doubtful that our site 11 would fit a unit requiring 50 amps there the 30 amp available suffices. The distance from site 11 to the power pedestal is approximately 35' so an appropriate extension may be needed. If you can stand 15 amps you're in business. However be prepared to make lemonade here and enjoy the views and short ferry ride to Boston.
P.S. #9 is most suitable for B or C model. No "A"s. # 10 & # 11 can handle any rig, however self level is helpful. - Bill - Ursula

We really liked this park. Since we went late in the season, it was not crowded or noisy. It was great having the local General Store right at the entrance of the park. The laundry room is tiny, with only a couple of machines and no air conditioning. The pull-through sites were level and well spaced. There was a nice playground for kids. The roads to get to the park are very winding, but manageable for big rigs. We would stay here again. - Gannonrv
Jun 2017 - $52.00
The campground was clean and plenty of room to get into your site. Bourne Road is not the best getting to the campground, but slow and easy makes the day. The hookups; electric, cable and water is almost at the front of the site which barely worked with my 50 amp service cable. Could have used an extension. Would stay again if in the area as it is close to Cade Cod area. - bkboren
Sep 2016 - $59.00
Campground has potential, but I think owners prefer to pocket money instead of upgrading. Some sites look as though the campers are running kennels with sites allowed to have as many as 6 dogs. Most sites have at least 2 or more dogs. Very noisy! I get the impression that any complaints would fall on deaf ears of owners. Most dog owners don't even pick up after their dogs! Have noticed some seasonal sites don't keep dogs on leash. Sites are extremely close with streets being all dirt. This creates for a very dusty environment, since most campers don't follow the speed limit. Only plus I see is location. Campground sits very close to Cape Cod and beaches. - Roadglider
