Check in was easy, they had a pleasant gentleman stationed at the entrance directing us in the dark. Finding our site was easy as the rows are lettered and sites clearly numbered. Considering this is a State beach campground we thought there was good space between sites. Sites were level and had concrete pads with paved driveway. Sand/grass around the pad with a fire ring and picnic table at each site. Walking distance to the beach and river from any site. Lots of people had their bikes. The campground was busy but pretty quiet. Dogs are allowed on river beach and off-season on the ocean beach. Bathhouses were older but clean. The store sold wood and some incidentals. Great, great, great location, can't wait to go back! We camped at Salisbury Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Excellent W/E hookups. Pad and driveway required very little to level. Park was clean and staff was efficient and friendly. There are no sewer hookups in the park, but the dumping station has been completely remodeled. There are now four dump units that are well designed with plenty of room and new pavement. A new bath/toilet facility is being constructed in the small camper/tenting area. We camped at Salisbury Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

W/E hookups are a ways away from RV, needed 50' of water hose and all 35' of power cord. Pad and driveway level. Park was clean and staff was efficient and friendly. There are no sewer hookups, but the dumping station has been completely remodeled, and there are now four dump units that are well designed with plenty of room. This is a huge park with 481 sites with water and electric, which are mostly 30 amp, but there are some 50 amp sprinkled around. There is a dump station on site. The sites are paved as are the roads. Each site has paved patio attached as well. If you come here, bring lots of water hose, at least 50' and maybe an extension for your electric cord. All of the utilities are lined up in a row at the very back of the sites, and separate the rows. As such the water pressure is pretty low, so you may have to fill the water tank on the rig and use your on board water pump to get a good shower. The beach is nice, and there is access to a bay area where dogs are allowed on leash, and the beach area as well if it after 5 PM. There is a small store/concession stand in the middle of the park that has a few camping necessities. There are no-see-ums here, which I learned early the second morning as we were outside working out. There is a lot of extra parking around the beach as it is a public access beach. That also means a lot of folks walking around the beach and campground area, so make sure that your stuff is secured when you are away for a length of time. If you are into boating there is also a public boat ramp connected to the campground. The location is pretty much in town, so trips to pick of supplies is fairly easy. We paid $33 a night for the park, which isn't too bad for a campground by the beach. There are no real water views, but the beach is only a few minutes walk from your campsite. We did get Verizon signal at the campsite for the WiFi, but the antenna tower was across the bay, so signal could be a bit sketchy depending on the time of day. The restrooms are handicapped accessible, but they are a bit on the old side. We camped next to a gentleman who camp hosts at the park. There are several camp hosts, which stay from 1 to 4 weeks at a time. Since none of the sites have sewer, there is a honey wagon that will come around to pump you out for $15 if you desire. We camped at Salisbury Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful park. Gorgeous beaches, lots of walking trails, nice clean facilities and a store. The sites are gravel, level and kind of spare. Gnarly trees at some sites. But if you like the beach, this is a great place. We have Verizon and the cell phone signal was great. Also got great TV (35 channels, excellent reception) with an over the air antenna. Wish we could have stayed longer - it was a great place. We camped at Salisbury Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

We booked through Reserve America and price includes the $8.65 reservation fee. It's a nice park, nothing fancy but is a great location for the beach. A mix of 50 & 30 amp and tent camping. We could only get 30 amp and all sites are back in. No wifi or cable TV but good reception for TV on antenna. No sewer hook up although there are very accessible dump stations. Be aware that on busy mornings there is a queue for the dump stations. The roads are tarmac and sites concrete and mainly level although quite short. Not suitable for rigs over 40 ft. Fire rings and good condition picnic tables. They have a very good recycling area. We camped at Salisbury Beach State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is state park campground. The access to the beach and river is the best part of this campground. Not much for activities but great bike riding for a family. I would camp here again. We camped at Salisbury Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice State Park. Back into your site and you are level side to side. The campground is somewhat like parking lot camping but there are quite a few trees through out of course the ocean is right there. The Merrimack River is also right there as this is where it empties. Lots of nice views and picture opportunities. The sound of the ocean and waves breaking can be heard at night when things quiet down.Have been several times and will continue to camp there. Our site was level and open. Relatively easy to get in and out because we were behind a bathhouse and camp store. Only had 20 amp hookup but we made it work with a little juggling. Easy walking distance to beach. Campground very large and busy but well patrolled with friendly camp hosts. It was quiet, especially considering there are almost 500 sites. We camped at Salisbury Beach State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

With the direct access to two beaches and the cost per night is why we keep choosing this campground. Our W/E hookups were in good working order. No sewer available at campground. Typical beach area camping, place flat with little shade. Camp sites are grid style and on the small side. Bathrooms and showers were just okay. No Wi-Fi, but good signal on our Verizon cell phone. Campground offers two beaches, kayaking and fishing. Careful, many of the sites have manhole covers and sharp drop from the site asphalt which are trip hazards. We would return again. Good location between the river, marsh and ocean. There is practically something for everyone: river beach which is dog friendly, ocean beach with good waves and a marsh for kayaking. The sites vary and some are quite crowded since you are allowed 2 vehicles plus the camping unit. The park allows the extra vehicles to park on the grass between sites so it can get congested. There many boats since the launch ramp is park of the park and many fishermen were launching and retrieving each day. If you kayak on the river, look for seals near the rocks. They were a lovely sight. It is a state park so the sites are still larger than the nearby private campground. The access road has wide shoulders which make it convenient to ride bikes to the nearby town of Salisbury Beach.

The bathrooms were cleaned frequently but there are 481 sites with no sewer hookup so at times they did get dirty but the friendly staff was working hard to keep them presentable. The family wants to return next year. We camped at Salisbury Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

For a good ocean view lunch try the Surfside in Salisbury Beach, the deck juts right out to the ocean. A good candy shop in Salisbury Beach is Willeys, try the cashew caramel corn it is worth the $6.00. We ordered cooked lobsters from David's seafood market and they were great as well as the steamers. Take a walk through nearby Newburyport. If you want to go fishing , there are choices in Hampton Beach which is only 5 miles north. Our fisherman caught 100 mackerel on a half day charter.

This is our first visit to this park when it has been busy. We usually are here early or late in the season. We were there from Tuesday to Friday and by Thursday afternoon the park was quite full, yet we were amazed at how peaceful and quiet it was. There is some construction going on during the day near the breakwater at the mouth of the river, but we did not find the noise bad at all. Each evening while we were there two members of the MA State Police Mounted Unit rode through the park, stopping for pictures and chatting with campers. Leashed dogs are permitted on the river beach, but not on the main beach. We will return. We camped at Salisbury Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Our first time visiting during the off season. Found the campground only 1/3 full, a nice change from the peak summer months. We had no problem with our hookups. Typical beach area camping; place flat with little shade. Camp sites are grid style and on the small side. Bathrooms and showers were just so-so. No Wi-Fi, but good signal on our Verizon cell phone. Campground offers two beaches, kayaking, fishing and only 40 minutes drive to southern ME attractions. At $26 per night we find this campground a good valve. Would return again. Although the sites are a little close for our liking, we really enjoyed staying here. It's a great, affordable location for going to the beach, with reasonable drives to Hampton Beach and Kittery Outlets. If you go to the outlets, eat at Robert's Maine Grill, it was amazing! Back to the campsite; as others have said, the faucet is way to the back of the site, so you'll have to use two 25-foot hoses. The campground is very pet friendly, with doggy doo stations here and there where you can pick up bags and drop off used ones. There is no alcohol allowed on the campground, but you do see many people drinking out of big plastic cups...Beaches are beautiful, but the ocean is very cold. They had dump station problems while we were there, but came up with a work-around within a couple of days and gave us a discount, so we were satisfied. We camped at Salisbury Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Worse check-in experience ever. We pulled into campground driveway and waited a little over an hour to get to the office to check in. They were unbelievably slow checking in the incoming units and they let some people who ignored the line go ahead of the long line of us who were patiently waiting. Beware the need for your pet's vaccination records. I don't think that is a bad thing, but they will not process your site assignment until you can present it. We changed site after a couple of days in order to lengthen our stay and had to go back to our RV to re-supply them with the records again even though they had the record info in their computer. Also, pets cannot be left alone in RV, so you need to make boarding arrangements for them when you are out sightseeing. This is due to the fear that there might be a power outage and since the sites sit in the open blazing sun, your pets ay not survive the outage. Sites okay - angled back ins with fairly sandy ground if you do not line up correctly. Streets are suppose to be one way, but it was not enforced causing a few issues with rigs trying to back in and cars zipping in and out. Dump station was a two lane station, so although it was busy on the way out, it was not too bad. However, there is not a pipe to stick your sewer fitting into as there is just an open drain slot to ay your sewer hose by. Beach is accessible from park by walking to day area to get around seawall that protects the river inlet. No swimming is allowed on riverside. You need to be on the oceanside to swim which is accessible in day area. We camped at Salisbury Beach State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
