This is a Thousand Trails RV Park, it's a real nice park. The employees are already friendly and helpful. There is a free honeywagon that comes every Monday and Thursday. Spots mostly fairly tight, too many annuals and they allow the public to come in. Other than that it's a real nice park. - Gramps1Grammieroo
Aug 2017 - $60.00
Sadly we didn't check on RVParkreviews before booking this park. It is now called Sturbridge RV Resort. Close to the highway but that's where it ends for positive experience. The the roads are tight and bumpy - it took us 1/2 hour to get into our site which was the tightest we've ever experienced. The side of our trailer was damaged by the neighbor's awning. The unit behind us was less than 10" from ours. We had to park our truck on the side with our awning and hardly had room to open the door. We couldn't extend our slides fully. We asked about WIFI and employee said "You can try it but it doesn't work." Since they stated WIFI on their website we asked in the office and were told we could pay extra to use it in the office. There are many seasonal units that are trashy. The people behind us had a campfire on the ground with no firepit - no supervision in the park at all. Assuming most people staying were Thousand Trails members and didn't pay much to stay; one family coming in were given a smaller spot than us and were told they overbooked so that's all they had. Very poorly run park. - Catsinatrailer
Jul 2017 - $1.00
Since this is a Thousand Trails park it had to beat the value when you stay for almost free. If it was a regular private campground I wouldn't rate it this high. The only sites available for a big rig are in D section. Part of this section is taken up by seasonals so there are not many sites available for transients. Almost as soon as a site becomes available it is taken even in the morning. If you have 2 big rigs end to end you fill up both sites with very little space between them. Some sites have no room for both slides and awnings. I had to move my tow vehicle several times to let other rigs in and out of the site next to me. On the other side was what looked like 2 families staying in a pull trailer. They had a travel trailer, tent, truck and a mini van on their site. Some slept in the mini van. There really are no parking places anywhere on a weekend night. Mini golf course wasn't open and needed repairs. The roads have a few sharp turns for a big rig and have plenty of holes. After a rain the tractor did come by with a grading attachment. - mrracechaser

Sep 2017 - $27.00
We booked site #39 online, based on proximity to bath house (at least, it looked that way on the map). No pictures of individual campsites on the ReserveAmerica booking site, so we were kind of winging it. We unexpectedly arrived at the campground around 10pm, after a long and grueling day on the road. The site (or what we could see of it) seemed nice, but was very unlevel, with a steep, narrow driveway. Combined with the winding, tree-lined loop road, there was no way we were going to be able to back into that site in the dark. We drove back to the camp office to hand our tag back in, ready to find a cheap motel for the night. Much to our delight, they had a pull-through site (#15), that had just been vacated minutes before we got there. So, we drove over to said site, and it was much better. We were able to pull in and get leveled relatively easily, even in the pitch-black. The site was very spacious, close to the bath house, and had a really nice view of Walker Pond through the surrounding trees. Again, we were only here for a quick overnight stop on the way home from Maine, but from what little we saw, this seemed like a nice little state park. Most sites were heavily wooded, and the pond is very pretty. Staff was also very friendly and helpful. Bath houses, were ok: roomy, well-lit, but quite old and a bit smelly. Don't think they are cleaned very often. Overall, this seemed to be a decent campground, and I wouldn't have a problem stopping overnight again if I'm traveling in the area. I would, however, opt for a pull-through site right off the bat! - Jenventola
Jun 2017 - $17.00
Large sites with plenty of privacy. Heavily wooded campground with pines and hardwoods providing dense shade. Well maintained, paved roads with dirt/grass sites, some with wood chips. We didn't struggle to level but did have to jockey a bit to center awning between trees. Clean sites with special attention paid to providing clean fire pits and charcoal grills. Older but clean restroom. Plenty of friendly, helpful staff present throughout the day/evening. Park is staffed until 10 PM. Great value and location. We would definitely stay here again! - BDD
May 2014 - $18.00
Park is a basic as you can get with no hookups, hence why I only stay here in a tent and not in my trailer. The bathrooms are older and small - I wouldn't shower in them but for restroom use they are fine. Site on the lake was very nice, plenty of space and plenty of privacy. I do recommend that if you go to plan ahead and look at the map closely. Most sites are large and have plenty of space however there are a few tiny sites that are low lying and are close to stagnant water. Overall it's a nice park and I will be back, I go here often. - A Chevalier

Spent a night passing through. Great stopover. Easy access to the site with the coach. A lot of amenities for kids and adults. Very family friendly. We would definitely stay here again. - MJB
Jul 2017 - $70.00
I did not read reviews prior to booking here and probably best I didn't. We used this as a halfway overnight on our way to and from Bar Harbor Maine as there just weren't many options. It was easy to get to off I84, some low limbs on River road but manageable. Both sites we had were meant to have 2 trailers on. Luckily we never had to deal with that, because they would have been super tight. Overall this place is a dump. Wife and I walked it the first night we stayed. Seasonals everywhere, most are in poor condition at best. Abandoned RV's in the woods, equipment all over the place, their shop gate is always open, and what a mess that area is. The regular rate was $84 per night, I found a discount code and got it for $70 a night. Still way to much. Roads and entrance are tight. Oh, and the note in the campground map that says no air conditioners or electric heaters unless prior arrangements are made. Really? My prior arrangement was paying $70 a night to stay in this dump. On our way home at site 151 on a Friday night was met with a ridiculously loud DJ rave party on the patio that went from 6-10PM. I don't know how my 11 month old son fell asleep, the wife and I sure couldn't. This is not a destination campground. It's barely ok for an (expensive) overnight. - ferguson65
May 2017 - $58.00
If you thought that this Jellystone Park is a serine, woodsy park, think again. This park is nothing more than a run down trailer park full of permanents that need to be evicted. We booked a pull-through full hook- up site to accommodate our 40-ft 5'er. What we got was a pull-through site, no sewer, no 50Amp, and jammed into a site where our slides were almost touching the slides in the next site. I will say that the staff did try to help resolve our problems the best they could. Don't waste your time or money here. - Rick Frazier

This campground is under new ownership and management. It is a private, members only campground and the newest member addition to the growing list of ARA resorts. Although in pre-development they do allow camping at no charge for members. Staff I is professional and friendly. Sites have true 30 & 50 Amp service; many are full hook-up and all have cable. - Happy Motorhomers
Oct 2014 - $0.00
Park is now a private, members only facility affiliated with Adventure Resort of America. Park is being renovated and developed to meet Resorts of Distinction standards. Full hook-up sites are available and many are big rig friendly. - Happy Motorhomers
Aug 2014 - $1.00
The good; has a dozen big rig sites with 50 amp, W & S and cable and another dozen sites for small campers with 30 amp & water, no sewer and right on a lake cove. Pool, rec room and playground. Good Verizon cell & 4G signals. The bad; very high percentage of sites are park models or very long term campers, some nice, but many junky and overgrown. The traveler sites are all back in, wide and short, my 36 ft fiver hung over the back with the hitch at edge of road. We asked for satellite site and were escorted to a site. After all set up found no signal, was told by employee to move to another site and tell the office in the morning, I moved. In the morning I was told by the office that site was privately owned and I had to move again. That site was not marked but I could use the equally unlevel and overgrown sites on either side. All three sites off level by up to 4 inches. Park has changed ownership and name change to Adventure Resorts of America, but not the signs at the entrance. The ROD web site lists the new name but not the old name, PA and this review web site lists the old name and not the new name. Drove past the entrance twice looking for the new name. Wi-fi signal only at office. Park not well maintained, run down and unprofessional, the brochure was a hand full of bad copies. The staff was OK but had an “I don’t care attitude”. The grounds and sites were weedy and the pool was more green than clear. All this during peak season. Would not stay there again even for the ROD rate. - Pepper Dan

Aug 2016 - $33.00
Just needed place for overnight stop. Park appears to be still under construction with many areas with rough road and partially completed grading. Grass area was OK but sites were not level. Luckily we were mid week so many sites to choose from so we could move around to get to a level site. Rough gravel roads. Buildings still under construction. OK but rough unfinished look. Overpriced for condition of facilities. - Tireman9
Aug 2016 - $33.00
Very rough roads entering sites. We had a grassy site and it was very soggy after rains. Site was pretty much level. Did not use facilities so unsure of them. Paid for internet usage and it was for nothing. Do not waste your money !! - Trucker 2
Oct 2012 - $30.00
This campground needs a lot of help. At least the check-in was friendly and efficient. Interior roads are rough, signage is inadequate, and some sites have utility problems. Equipment and junk are scattered around the campground. Due to heavy rain, the grassy sites were somewhat boggy in spite of fairly good drainage so leveling was a bit challenging. Wi-Fi didn't work. If in the area again, I would try very hard to find another overnight campground. Sadly, the Brimfield area is still showing the effects of the 2011 tornado. - Scott & Nancy

Sep 2015 - $1.00
Price reflects ROD membership. Campground was very easy to find. There still had weekend activities (potluck, etc.) even late in the season. The pool was open but very cold. They had a playground and other outside activities. This is a standard "parking lot" style campground. However, they can manage big rigs; but only a few of the sites will work for large RVs. Very tight getting into site-but it was workable. It was nice they had a parking area for the truck and the jeep, so we didn't need to keep those on our site. Gravel roads through the campground. Sites are level. Each site had a picnic table and fire ring. Good Verizon coverage. Spotty DirecTV satellite. Nice little campground. I would stay here again; just make sure to understand campground size; but no hesitations otherwise. - GLPColorado

Sep 2017 - $40.00
A nice campground, our site was in a big open field, pull through with water and electric. Had a big rain while we were there so there was standing water everywhere, 12hours to dry out. Easy in and out, only one dump site so a line forms on Sunday when most people leave. My only gripe the shower was twenty five cents for nine minutes and it took three minutes to get water that was warm enough to start your shower, water never got hot. - ragsland
Aug 2017 - $35.00
When we called to make a reservation at the above titled campground, they lied about three things: 1. Said they had Dish Cable Service for all-Did not have Cable service. 2. The site we had was to be Pull Through it was not. Very limited pull through sites. 3. The site claimed to have sewage "full hook up "it was not. We had water and 30 Amp. (" barely") electricity. The biggest problem was the claim of sewage hook-ups. Even when they had a two-section system one for gray one for black. Neither worked. When my husband went to the main office to inquire about the issue with the sewage, he was received by a young man, who was cocky and blew him off., he said that they would take care of it by pumping out our lines. We waited one full day. When they arrived the machine only pumped out their holding barrel, not our rig! We found out that in actuality they do not have any REAL SEWAGE hook ups. Each permanent resident that stays full time gets pumped out once a week. A very bad thing to claim if you do not have full hook up. What they have is a hole - its surrounded by rocks where the grey water is supposed to leach though, some have 55-gallon barrels with them peppered with holes to let the grey out. Black water this hook up is only a 55-gallon barrel and when it is full it is full. When we release the black water into the hook up we always flush it out with the gray water so nothing icky is stuck in the sewage hose. If you turn on the microwave with the air conditioner running EVERYTHING WILL SHUT DOWN. What I can say good about this place is that the full timers take pride in their camping are and it is extremely neat and clean. The full timers are very nice and accepting of any new comer. This will not be my first pick next time in the area. - Rhonda51
Oct 2015 - $40.00
We spent two nights here just as the park was closing for the winter. Services were being shut-down, but the owners welcomed us and were very helpful. It is a lovely site along a quiet, country road in rural Mass. It has lots of facilities and looks like a real "family-friendly" campground.
Old Sturbridge Village is next door. - george r

May 2009 - $28.00
I was with a group of four families that camped here Memorial Day weekend, 2009. This facility appears to be entirely run by an older couple who are in over their heads. The campground itself is nice enough, but the infrastructure is crumbling around them. Our first problem was with the pressure relief valve on the water faucet. It leaked like a sieve on my site and an adjoining one, and when I reported it, the solution was to hook up a “Y” connection with another site that didn’t have a problem. Good thing the neighbor was accommodating! The next problem was with the power. One in our party has a 36 foot Class A motorhome and their site had only 15 amp service! The solution was to again swap with someone who had a 30 amp connection. We were on their safari field and there were hoses and cords running all over the place. The roads in the campground were in deplorable shape with deep ruts and washouts, so you had to move extremely slow in order not to bottom out your rig or tow vehicle. The area near the dumping station was extremely bad, where we actually backed up and turned around our units, rather than having to traverse the affected area. We had a minor problem with our billing because a child over 5 who was supposed to be with us when we booked the reservation wasn’t, so we had $12 coming back to us. Asking for our refund seemed to be an imposition, and the owner was indignant that one of our party couldn’t make it because of a medical condition and wanted to know how she was going to get the balance owed! On the plus side, they had activities like cards, bingo and a DJ, as well as horseshoes and bocci, although the latter two I think were mostly pick up games with a group that appeared to know each other. The hayride advertised in their flyer never materialized and the pool looked like it was not quite ready for prime time with algaecide foam floating on the top. A point of interest is that they actually have the remnants of an old sawmill within their office/store/game room complex. Also a plus is that their rates were a very reasonable $36 a night for a holiday weekend. So overall I’d say that we probably won’t return due to the poor condition of the facilities and the attitude of the two people we had to deal with, who I assume are the owners. The overall attitude can be described as grumpy. If what I have described would not be concerns to you, then this place can be considered a good value. - grumpah

The campground is older but well kept. Many friendly seasonals and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It was raining when we got to the campground but the roads are solid and trees trimmed up nicely. Its very quiet which is what we seek, no noisy late parties or early risers making noise. Showers are clean and they have laundry on site. Overall a pleasant experience and we will be back. - Ed Brodeur
Jul 2017 - $40.00
Stayed during a rainy time of bad weather. So many trees that you feel as if you are in a cave at the campground. Hard to maneuver any rig bigger than 28 feet long. Hook-ups worked but needed maintenance. Not a lot to do, Sturbridge Village near by that is it. You have the Nipmuk woods , it might interest some. However the owner is very friendly and extremely helpful, It is a family run campground. Many areas office ,store , are on the "Honor" system, however when in need the best way to reach someone is from the cell phone number they give you. The office registration area is often empty not anyone there to help you. There are many seasonal campers, but they are very friendly and helpful. During tornado warnings the owners said to go to their basement , did not have to help us but did. Quaint old fashion style campground. - Rhonda51

The park is located in the forest off the beaten path. The highway to the park is narrow, so drive slow. The staff is so helpful and are the nicest people! We liked them all. They also take you to your camp site and assist with parking your RV after registration. It is quiet park, and very nice and clean. We had site O11, which was an excellent site with 30 AMP, water, and a grey sewer. We had a brick fireplace in a raised seating area for our campfire. There was small site lights too on posts. They have a dump station for your black tank. We relaxed and enjoyed our stay here. They have a store, pool, and activities for the kids. The laundry room was clean and inexpensive for wash and dry. There are electronic games, pool table, tv, and internet next to the laundry room. The only ding was the tree sap that got on our truck from the pines. Use the Gojo without the grit to remove it from your vehicles. We enjoyed our stay here, and we would definitely return if in the area again! - Lindy White
Aug 2017 - $48.00
This is a good camping campground because of all the activities available; pool, hoops, cornhole, horseshoes, to name only a few. The site was not quite level gravel/dirt, my rear tires were off the ground. No sewer but did have a gray tank dump on our site, unusable to me because it is connectable only to garden hose sized hose. Dump near the office. It rained on us and the MH settled into the ground on the left side, making us unlevel. Heavy tree canopy canceled our satellite reception, their cable was a bit "fuzzy". Good spacing between sites, not all laid out like cordwood. Staff very friendly. I don't know if they have bath/showers, I didn't see any nor did I look for any. The roads in are narrow, windy, and overgrown with branches, almost claimed my antennas. - rvrrat520

First, I must give the owners/staff kudos for their customer service. We expected to arrive around 5 PM after a 350 mile drive, but due to construction on I-81 and I-84, we were delayed and the GPS estimated our arrival at 7:15 PM, fifteen minutes after the office closed. We called the first time around 5 PM and gave them our ETA, and indicated that we would register the next morning. They said not to worry, that someone would stay until we arrived. We called a second time when the ETA changed, and still the same reply. When we pulled in at 7:20 PM, they were still in the office and greeted us warmly, with no indications that we were holding them up with our late arrival. They took us to our site and helped guide us in and also explained about the grey water discharge. Thank you! I must comment that our site was spacious and shaded, just the way we like them to be. It appeared that there were numerous activities planned for the families, but we didn't get involved in any of those, or use any of their facilities. The only negative, and it was NOT the fault of the campground, was the fireworks display set off by one of the campgrounds neighbors on our last night. Our dog is deathly afraid of any loud noise like gun shots or fireworks, so she shook for an hour after they finally stopped. But once they did stop, the campground was again quiet and peaceful. - Love To Travel 2
