Sadly we didn't check on RVParkreviews before booking this park. It is now called Sturbridge RV Resort. Close to the highway but that's where it ends for positive experience. The the roads are tight and bumpy - it took us 1/2 hour to get into our site which was the tightest we've ever experienced. The side of our trailer was damaged by the neighbor's awning. The unit behind us was less than 10" from ours. We had to park our truck on the side with our awning and hardly had room to open the door. We couldn't extend our slides fully. We asked about WIFI and employee said "You can try it but it doesn't work." Since they stated WIFI on their website we asked in the office and were told we could pay extra to use it in the office. There are many seasonal units that are trashy. The people behind us had a campfire on the ground with no firepit - no supervision in the park at all. Assuming most people staying were Thousand Trails members and didn't pay much to stay; one family coming in were given a smaller spot than us and were told they overbooked so that's all they had. Very poorly run park. We camped at Sturbridge RV Resort (formerly Sturbridge Outdoor World Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

This is a Thousand Trails RV Park, it's a real nice park. The employees are already friendly and helpful. There is a free honeywagon that comes every Monday and Thursday. Spots mostly fairly tight, too many annuals and they allow the public to come in. Other than that it's a real nice park. We camped at Sturbridge RV Resort (formerly Sturbridge Outdoor World Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Since this is a Thousand Trails park it had to beat the value when you stay for almost free. If it was a regular private campground I wouldn't rate it this high. The only sites available for a big rig are in D section. Part of this section is taken up by seasonals so there are not many sites available for transients. Almost as soon as a site becomes available it is taken even in the morning. If you have 2 big rigs end to end you fill up both sites with very little space between them. Some sites have no room for both slides and awnings. I had to move my tow vehicle several times to let other rigs in and out of the site next to me. On the other side was what looked like 2 families staying in a pull trailer. They had a travel trailer, tent, truck and a mini van on their site. Some slept in the mini van. There really are no parking places anywhere on a weekend night. Mini golf course wasn't open and needed repairs. The roads have a few sharp turns for a big rig and have plenty of holes. After a rain the tractor did come by with a grading attachment. We camped at Sturbridge RV Resort (formerly Sturbridge Outdoor World Campground) in a Motorhome.

We got lucky and both times we stayed we were right on the lake. Those sites were great but other areas were kind of tight. Clean older park but only one bathroom for 100+ sites seemed kind of odd. Nice indoor pool & nice size lake. Clean but older park. We camped at Sturbridge RV Resort (formerly Sturbridge Outdoor World Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Park is as everyone said is very tight if your rig is over 30 feet long. However we did manage to get our 38 foot fifth wheel into one of their sites. Sites are tight and not much space, however campground is beautiful and our kids loved the week we spent their. Club house is very nice and has a great feel about it. Indoor pool and a country store. Would I go there in the middle of peak season? No, but in the off season like October I think it is worth taking our size rig to this park. We camped at Sturbridge RV Resort (formerly Sturbridge Outdoor World Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Entry gate, you call ranger on a two way radio for entry and then it is downhill and sharp hairpin left turn into campground. Spaces in open area are very tight, mostly dirt, forget trying to open your awning. Our neighbor had theirs open on our arrival and our slide almost hit it. Spaces so close so you can hear every word your neighbor says, you basically have 6 feet to each side and 1 foot to the rear. Spaces in open area are about 50-60 feet long and they tried to put two 38 foot motorhomes back to back in a single 60 ft site. Tow vehicle had to be parked in separate area and with rear neighbor you had to walk around and through the mud, since it had rained. Unlike many others, we were not allowed to pick our site, we were shown to our site. One of the worse setups I have ever seen, an opinion many others arriving shared.

Bathrooms are old but appear clean, but did not use. The pool and spa area looked clean, but again did not use. There is a small store, arcade, and dining room for activities.

This camp has certainly given us an answer to purchasing a Thousand Trails membership and that is NO. This is the third Thousand Trails we have stayed at on our cross country trip and will never book with Thousand Trails again. They have no problem taking your money, but it is certainly not used for maintenance. Original booking was for two nights, we left after one.

Hookups were good, although we were instructed to use the incorrect box so we had to change when our rear neighbor arrived. We camped at Sturbridge RV Resort (formerly Sturbridge Outdoor World Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tight, piggy back sites. No lawn care. Weeds everywhere. Sharp turn into park, and tight backing in. The fire ring for our site had garbage in it, under our picnic table. Not worth staying here, the other park is 100% better. We camped at Sturbridge RV Resort (formerly Sturbridge Outdoor World Campground) in a Motorhome.

Very small and tight spaces with no room for slides or awnings to be put out unless within a foot - maybe two of the other camper. Good hook-ups and seem new with 30-50 amp. WiFi is $6.00 per day and limited to a short time for checking email. Real nice pool and hot tub inside, nice store and pond area. Tips for other Campers:

Sturbridge is a nice town but Old Sturbridge Village is expensive and not worth the trip. WiFi is great at a McDonalds only 4 miles down the road. There are good shopping facilities around.

This park is tiny with only one restroom facility that is also shared by swimming pool. It has dark sand, and roads are gravel and dusty. The best sites are taken by seasonal campers and the other sites are so close that slides nearly touch. Our site was nice under pine trees but we didn't need much room and the tree roots made it very unlevel. There is a nice walking area but you get covered up by dust if a car comes by. The seasonal campers are friendly and generally keep their sites very nice. We camped at Sturbridge RV Resort (formerly Sturbridge Outdoor World Campground) in a Tent Trailer.

When I first went to look at this campground I was skeptical, but I loved it there. It's camping ! We only used water and electric, on the water because well I wanted a water site. I gave up sewer for a view and I was close to the restroom. Loved the manager; she strives to be accommodating, the staff is trying hard to upgrade. Pool was clean, though the gentlemen in charge of the pool was kind of rude,we still enjoyed the pool. We were not aware that we had to sign in nor did his clothing say staff but all considered everyone we encountered were pleasant..... I'm going back in August and if you haven't been there in a while at least stop and take a look. I think they are trying hard to change things. One thing I would change is maybe making the sites a bit easier to get into, being Thousand Trail members some of the sites would never accommodate 2 cars and 10 people let alone a tent or two with an RV. I definitely enjoyed my stay kudos!!!! We camped at Sturbridge RV Resort (formerly Sturbridge Outdoor World Campground) in a Tent Trailer.

The only good thing about this campground is the full hookups. Only a handful of sites that will accommodate a 40 ft class A, and those are out in the open (no shade) with extremely small campsites; you are elbow to elbow with your neighbor. Nowhere to park your car but in alongside the rig, so what little site is available is taken by your auto/truck. I'd say close to 50% seasonal. Roads are mostly dirt with very little gravel, when it rains you can imagine the mud. The cable is very limited and the picture poor quality. It is convenient to I-84, and there is a Pilot Diesel and Mobil with diesel right off the Exit 1 in MA, and the prices are low compared to CT. We camped at Sturbridge RV Resort (formerly Sturbridge Outdoor World Campground) in a Motorhome.

TTN Rate. There is a new sign on Mashapaug Road, but nothing else has changed. Call the office from the gate, get the access code, and drive down the hill to the stop sign at the lodge, and do your check-in, and go look for a site. With the fifth wheel we made the left u-turn, and parked it in the middle of the road, and walked to the area suggested. The mud holes mentioned before are still there, including the messed up road & site with the water leak (leak has been repaired but nothing else has). The road is a pit and cordoned off where the hole is, so access is difficult. We chose a site which has actually two sites back to back with one half blocked by barricades off the road. I backed into the "good" half, and had no problem with setup, AND didn't need to worry about taking up another space (there really isn't room for two in each site). The manager did say they had a big problem with water this spring-their opening was April 1-and it still isn't resolved. The pool isn't open, and the manager told us it was because they are waiting for an inspection by a state health inspector for water quality and condition of the pool. The manager wasn't helpful at all, and the entire campground is nasty. We walked the entire campground, and there may be 101 sites, but 43 of them are rental units, and in addition to that, are the seasonal sites. There just aren't many sites open to the public here. Tengonet Wi-Fi is terrible, but our server did pull in a fair signal. Full hookups were good and accessible. Based on the overall condition of the park and attitude, we may not be returning. We camped at Sturbridge RV Resort (formerly Sturbridge Outdoor World Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is based on PA rate. The best part of the campground was the sign at the entrance -- nice sign. Everything went down hill from there. Dirt roads in the campgrounds with huge pot holes. Site was so unlevel the wheels were off the ground. The "ranger" told us to select our site. When we went to the designated section, there were only 2 open pull throughs. One of the open sites appeared to have a huge mud hole which was covered with piled up picnic tables (one which was ours). So naturally we selected the dry site. When we hooked up to the water, the main stem to the cutoff valve was pouring out water. The electric was OK. When we went back to the "ranger" to tell her which site we selected and the terrible condition of the one site, she explained a water main did break there. As to our problems, she simply said "It is, what it is". Wi-Fi is available for a charge. Due to the conditions of the grounds, attitude of the staff, and difficulty booking a reservation, we would never return. It is obvious no effort or money is used to maintain this park. We camped at Sturbridge RV Resort (formerly Sturbridge Outdoor World Campground) in a Motorhome.

We weren't too happy with this campground. First it was difficult to locate as there's no street sign and no camping sign as you get further off the main roads. Then roads to the campground and entry into the grounds are tough for a large motorhome like ours, with low limbs and rough roads. The signage leaves a lot to be desired too. We watched everyone do the same thing we did - trying to figure out where to pull over to register and there's a nasty turn as you enter the grounds, so large RV's have only one way to go. Then we're told to pick out our own site so we had to unhook and drive the car around looking for a decent site that had full hook-up. The map wasn't very good and the sites weren't marked with full hook-up or not! We finally settled for a site near the main entrance despite concerns over the noise level. But many of the sites were barely big enough for a large tent let alone any RV. Even the sites big enough for an RV are very narrow and short. There seems to be a lot a permanent residents here, which is never a good thing. The Saturday after we arrived, a company was brought in to hold a wrestling match and there was an announcer and yelling and it was a bit much! We were also given a notice about thefts being a problem in the area which is not too comforting, the lake was closed due to goose infestation and the pool was closed. So, overall not a good experience but our membership in Encore at least got us a rate of $23/night so we don't feel so bad. We camped at Sturbridge RV Resort (formerly Sturbridge Outdoor World Campground) in a Motorhome.

We camp here because it is very convenient off Interstate 84 exit 1. Though some big rigs can get in this campground, there is a very difficult turn to the left at the bottom of the hill as you enter, so many big rigs refuse to stay here. This park's roads are the pits! Dirt and some gravel, when it rains the roads are nothing more than potholes and mud, and some of the 50amp section campsites get waterlogged too. They have known about this issue for at least a year, but no improvements so far. All of the 50 amp full hookup sites are in one area with many back to back "back in" sites. Problem is that if there is a 40+ft motorhome in one, then the site behind it will only have 20-30ft available (depending on the location in this area), so the full number of sites will not really be available for motorhomes/5th wheels/travel trailers that require the 50amp service. The CG has lots of weekend activities for children and adults, and it really fills up the CG & cabins to the max. Some of these activities (wrestling for example) can be VERY loud and may not appeal to everyone. Check the CG web page for the schedule prior to your visit. Lakefront sites do not have sewer (the few that do are taken by "seasonals") and are best suited to tents and small campers. The staff is not overly ambitious and often can be seen taking numerous smoking breaks. Still, we will return, as this CG is convenient and meets our basic needs. We camped at Sturbridge RV Resort (formerly Sturbridge Outdoor World Campground) in a Motorhome.
